Merch Store FAQs
1. What’s changing?
You asked, and we delivered -- we are pleased to offer XM Community members access to our new XM Community Merch Store. Previously, Community members would have to wait to level up to receive Community merch, and that merch came in the form of pre-set merch kits that could not be customized. Now, you can redeem your points whenever you like, and choose your *own* items. You also don’t have to wait to level up! You can redeem points at any time.
2. Is there new merch to choose from?
Yes! After collecting feedback from Community members, we worked with our merch supplier to offer popular items and frequently requested items. We posted about that here. We also brought back some old favorites, like the famous XM Community Patagonia fleece jacket, now in both men’s and women’s fit and sizing.
3. What about XM Community levels?
Good news -- levels are not changing. You will still level up as you contribute to the Community, but no surveys will be sent anymore when you level up, as all merch will now be in the store. Level 8 is still the top level, but in the past, once you received Level 8 rewards, there were no more rewards to get. Now, you can work your way up to Level 8 and *always* be redeeming points in the store for as long as you are a member and earning new points. You will also still earn badges as you always have; no changes to the badge program at this point in time.
4. Will the merch in the store always be the same merch?
Yes, and no. We will *always* keep popular items in the store that members want. We will also rotate in new merch periodically so that there is always a new assortment of items to choose from. Some items may be exclusive, limited edition items, too! Items that prove to not be so popular may be discontinued, and replaced with other options the Community would prefer.
5. Do I need a different account for the merch store?
Yes, We are working with an online storefront provider and you will need to register on the new store to create an account. The good news is, although this is an additional account to manage, you can track your own shipments, update your address, track your spendable point balances and more via the store.
6. Ok so where is the store and how do I register?
The new store is linked here. NOTE: You must have a Community account! Do not register for the Merch Store if you do not have an XM Community account. No account = no points = no merch.
- Points will be added automatically from the Community to the Store *EVERY FRIDAY*
- For example, if you register for the store on a Tuesday, your total points should be in your store account by end of day Friday the same week
- Once your initial points have been added after registering, the Community will update your points *EVERY FRIDAY* with new points earned that week

8. If I spend points in the store, where can I see my new points balance?
The Merch Store will be like a bank -- log into the merch store to see how many points you can spend.
- The Community Leaderboard we are all familiar with will now represent both all-time points earned, as well as new weekly points. This means that no points will be deducted from the XM Community platform as you spend points in the store
- The merch store will now be the source of total points available for you to spend
Why aren’t X4 passes in the store?
This has been a popular request, and as much as we would love to offer this, we are not able to do so, for legal reasons that are somewhat complicated and lengthy. There may be the option to receive X4 passes (at a discount or free) in the future, but that would be separate from the new Merch Store.

You earned your points, and we want you to use them. We ask, however, that members please be respectful and mindful when ordering merch. Please note that your points are redeemable for merch for your own personal use.
This means that we request members do *not* order 10 t-shirts all at once, for example. Or, order *all* available backpacks and deplete the store of backpacks. That would mean other Community members would not have access to those items until we do a merch stock refresh, which takes some time.
We are all professionals here on the XM Community, and we trust that members will be mindful of quantities ordered. At the moment, we do not have plans to pre-approve orders before shipping or limiting orders, but if the merch store access is being abused, then we will have to restrict orders.
Important fine print:
Please also note in the Merch Store, all sales are final. There are no returns or exchanges. If a package goes missing in shipment, you will be personally responsible for working directly with UPS or other shipping carriers to track down the package. XM Community admins will no longer assist with package tracking. Members are responsible for customs duties imposed by their home countries.
