Qualtrics provides users with three highly flexible tools to visualize the data they collect, all in-platform.
The Results tab is automatically generated as your project starts creating data. In this tab, you'll find your data automatically displayed by question, using visualizations that likely correlate to your question type. (Asking a simple multiple choice question? The results will likely be a response count bar graph). All of these visualizations can be filtered, changed, and customized. I tend to think about this tab as a great way to answer any quick or one-off questions. Need to know how satisfied your clients were with the presentation you just gave? The results tab is the place! To get started with the Results tab, check out this free course on XM Basecamp.
Next we have the Reports tab, also known as "Advanced Reports". You can find it right next to the Results tab in each project. This functions similarly to the results tab, except everything visualized here has to be built from scratch. This offers much more customization and flexibility in terms of style, and layout but also take a bit more effort. This is my go-to tab for a visualization that is incredibly important, but that will likely only be used one. A summary of findings for a large, one-off study might be a good example. To build your skills with the Reports tab, I recommend this course on XM Basecamp.
Lastly we have Dashboards. Dashboards are a project type not included in all licenses, but are the most powerful tool for those with access to them. Dashboards are role-based so people only see the data they need. The thing that really makes this visualization special is the ability to pull in data from multiple difference sources. This means you can synthesize data from multiple survey projects or even outside data sources. Dashboards are an advanced feature, so they take some getting used to, but there is no better way to build a completely custom data visualization that you keep coming back to for insights. A large display with a Qualtrics dashboard is a fixture for all of our advanced users who want to stay on top of day-to-day changes in their metrics. To get started with Dashboards, this is a great course.

For us it's part of the survey design process. One of the main steps before choosing questions or types is setting your survey objectives. Understanding the type of information you need influences how you ask questions.
