Side by Side question custom validation

Hi all, 

I’m having an issue with trying to set a custom validation for a side-by-side question. I have two columns, the first column is multiple choice, but I want to set a condition that the participant must select at least one choice. 

The second column then asks them the frequency of use for each selected choice in column one. Is there a way to firstly only allow people to answer column two for the choices that were selected in the corresponding column? Secondly, can I set it so they must answer the question about frequency before moving on?

 

Just to note the first column is a Likert scale consisting of one option per row and the second frequency column is a drop-down.

Hi @Shashi, it looks like this. So I am asking people to select the models they use out of a list and then report how frequently they use the selected one.

Hi @Shashi, I have now managed to fix the first part through custom validation so participants must select at least one option from column one to move on. However, I can’t work out how to make access to column two dependent on the selection in column one.

You can try below validations. In this set of validations, either you can blank proceed for specific row or you will need so select in dropdown if checkbox is selected or you will check the checkbox if you have selected any option in drop down. Please apply the same validate of each row and make sure use the and/or conditions accordingly.
