Pre and Post analysis using an identifier

I have been trying to figure out how to connect a pre-post survey in Qualtrics for a month now. I just want participants to be given a link prior to a training and after to see if there has been any knowledge gains that can be measured. I have developed the survey in lifecycle so that it can attach to a dashboard and just want the unique identifier to be the participant's email address and them analytics can occur automatically to show me what the gains were. Can someone please assist?
