Auto pick date on Qualtrics Calendar

Hello again everybody, I have another question regarding dates. My last post was correctly answered here. However, now my question is in regards to automatically picking the date on a displayed Qualtrics calendar that is set by using the date picker formatted question (Where a physical calendar shows up and you can pick a date). The survey I am working with requires an interviewer to show the participant a calendar 3 times, which I would like to display electronically. I need the calendars to automatically be set on the date *30-days* in the past from the current date, *90-days* in the past from the current date, and *12-months* in the past from the current date. URL Regex in webapp feedback/intercept project - URL parsing issue

I am trying to parse a URL with a regex in Embedded Data in a Website/App Feedback/Intercept survey. I have tried to parse both the actual URL and the URL that Qualtrics seems to read and understand: * Actual (in browser): https://websites.connectcdk.com/wsm/index.do?webId=motp-nitrademo2&locale=en_US * Pulled into Qualtrics Survey Data (a bunch of HTML garb): https://websites.connectcdk.com/wsm/route/base-view/hydraDashboard?configCtx={"webId":"motp-nitrademo2","locale":"en_US","version":"WIP"} We have written the following regex to parse the HTML-ey URL: [^\\?]+\\?.*webId["\\%22\\%3A\\:\\=\\&]+([^\\&\\%]+) ...and it works in the Regex tester (https://regex101.com/), but when plugged into my intercept project it pulls the webId as "3A" when it should be pulling "motp-nitrademo2". Help! We have been troubleshooting this for weeks now and can't seem to come up with the right regex..

How do I setup a custom survey code for a receipt survey so is both validates and embeds?

I moving from an existing survey platform to Qualtrics and am trying to maintain the receipt survey entry code as best I can. Currently, customers enter a 20 digit code that confirms the customer shopping trip by grabbing from the digits: a specific date, a store ID, and the transaction ID. The code is then converted into embedded data fields for that response. This is being done through javascript, however, not sure how it would be accomplished in Qualtrics given the different methods and how Qualtrics is setup. Any one have ideas or has done this before that cares to share? !

Javascript suddenly throws error after working yesterday

Hi friends. I'm using custom javascript to bypass the row limit of drill down questions. It was working yesterday but is suddenly not. Is anyone aware of any changes to the platform that could cause this? I haven't made any changes to these questions since it was working yesterday and I'm just at my wits end and out of my element. Here's the error I'm seeing: ! I've also attached the javascript we're using. If anyone has any suggestions for how to do this more efficiently, we'd love them, but in the meantime I'm just trying to get my survey working again. The script feeds a text entry question and changes them to drop downs allowing people to select from the first column which filters the second which filters the third. The script appears to be failing to load entirely. Thanks for your help!

How to implement videos/clips in Qualtrics but maintain full control over what participants can do?

I want to display videos/clips to participants. I would like to have full control over the video/clip: I would like to control whether the video autoplays or not, I would like to control whether the participant can click on any control buttons, I would like to control whether the participant can maximize the video, increase the volume etc. I want to also make sure I can prevent participants from downloading/seeing the video apart from in that specific Qualtrics questions. That is to say, I don’t want them to be able to click on it to go the website (e.g. vimeo/youtube) or be able to Download it straight from Qualtrics. I would like to stay in the same browser and not go to other browsers. Youtube does not work as a solution, even with coding due to changes in their documentation (see the changes around 2016, if I remember correctly). Vimeo does not seem to cut it too as I can’t find a way to use coding to have that amount of control (checked forums myself already, but might have mis

Change header based on location in survey

Hi Qualtrics community, Has anyone had to change the header based on where the respondent currently is in the survey? The respondent must be able to back up, so I'm unable to use Survey Flow logic to change the header. I'm aware that there is an OnPageSubmit, but is there an OnPage 'Previous button' function? Maybe I could change an embedded data variable's content when they click previous vs. clicking next? Pete

How to remove "slider" from the bottom of a descriptive text?

Hi all, first question of my survey is a descriptive text question containing few paragraphs of text and an image. In a mobile preview there appears a slider bellow this question even though neither the image nor the text itself don't exceed the width of the "device screen". Would anyone know how to get rid of this "slider"? I've tried to modify ` max-width` of `.QuestionOuter`, `.Questions`, `.QuestionText` or `.InnerInner` using `%` or `vw`, but this didn't help. !

Is there a way to batch edit the Javascript section of many questions at once?

I have found a way to batch edit custom HTML code using the `Search and Replace` function in Qualtrics as it searches and replaces the raw HTML text within each question. However, there is no way to `Search and Replace` the Javascript section of questions. I have some custom coded functions that have been defined in the header section of the survey. I would like to add the same function call code in the Javascript section of over 30 questions. Is there a way to batch edit the Javascript section of multiple questions that are selected? Thanks! This would save me a lot of time and clicking if made possible.

New to Javascript--help with coding multiple choice questions

Hey! I'm a researcher w/ the University of Michigan; we're using Qualtrics to help classify a database of 15k public policies. I'm wondering if anyone could give us some advice about how we could use Javascript to include a multiple-choice survey question that would both 1) allow creators to randomly insert a hyperlinked url to the summary page of one of these 15k policies, and 2) allow respondents to click on the link, enabling them to reference the summary page for the duration of their time completing the survey. Setting answers for matrix question throwing an error when answer is not first column

Hi - I have a matrix question that I want to populate with answers using JS code. My code works to set the columns I want to the answers I want. However, when the next button is pressed I get an error "Please answer this question". Interestingly enough I turned off Force Response for the matrix question, and I still get that error. I can make the error go away by setting the answers for each row in the matrix question to column 1. Is it possible to add script to a total sum table?

I would like to take the answers that are entered in a matrix total sum table and convert the units in real time. Is this possible? For example, if the respondent answers the area of land question in hectares, this is converted to acres. If they answer in acres this is converted into hectares, and both columns sum to the total land area. (See screen shot below). !

Survey language setting from survey question

Hello, I'm running a multi-country survey, which includes certain dual-language markets (namely English & Arabic). As this study goes out through a survey panel, I need to give the option to respondents to select their language on the first question of the survey, and then have the survey switch to whatever language they selected. Please note: - Enabling the language drop-down is not an option as respondents will be able to see all the available languages, across all the markets that I'm running the survey in - I tried using Survey Flow where after respondents would choose the language I added a Survey close that re-open the survey link with the appropriate Q_Language operator added. However, as the panel provider is embedding their user ID to the initial survey link and this is not passed to the redirected link, this is not a viable option either Any suggestions on how the survey language can be controlled through the first survey question are more than welcome! How do I restrict past and today's date from a calendar?

Hi XM Community: Is it possible to restrict today's date from showing in a calendar and only show specific dates future in the future? We are using flatpickr.js for the inline calendar. We created a registration form for the live-training sessions that we host weekly using Research Core in Qualtrics. In the form, individuals select the training session and then proceed to pick the date and time they want to attend. We use Display Logic to determine which calendar will show depending on the training session selected because the sessions are offered on different days of the week. Currently, each calendar is set up to show today's date and specific dates when a training session is available; i.e. menu training is available on Mondays; systems training is available on Tuesdays, etc. We pull the registrations in the morning and then email the registrants with the information to join the session. Changing size of radio buttons in matrix table only

I used a support page to get numbers in my matrix table radio buttons which is exactly what I wanted (using the javascript below), but the font of the numbers is too big and bumping up against the inside of the bubbles (we are using a static theme). Is there a way to decrease the font size for just the numbers in the bubbles OR increase the size of the radio buttons for just the matrix table? Set answers for hidden question based on previous question's answer

A newbie to Qualtrics custom code with a request for advice ... even better if someone has a code snippet that is close to what I want ... I have a survey with several matrix single answer likert questions. Depending on a response to a question prior to the matrix question I would like to set the selected answers to the matrix question, ideally without having the survey participant see this being done or need to press the next button. The previous question is a "yes / no" question, so it's recode value for the answer isn't what I'm trying to use to set the matrix question answers. As far as I can tell the only way to do this in Qualtrics is to use JavaScript in the matrix questions. Question #1: Am I correct, or is there another way to get responses recorded for a question the survey participant does not see? I'd like to re-use the JavaScript code code for multiple matrix questions, so hard coding the choiceID, recodeValue, subid, etc. of the matrix questions isn't a good idea. Stu

Response option shading glitch in matrix tables!

Hello all, I've been trying to shade the "missing" and "multiple responses" columns in the matrix tables of a data entry form light grey in order to bring them to the attention of anyone entering data. Here is the java script code I have used to do so... var c= 1 //Enter the column position var n=3+c; jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" td.c"+n+" , th.c"+n+"").css("background","lightgrey"); what I cannot figure out is why on some of the matrix tables I've applied this to, the shading seems to apply almost randomly to other aspects of the question (headers of columns I have not specified, in particular). The questions will look perfect in the individual preview tabs, then end up incorrect on the full survey previews and via the anonymous distribution link. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Can anyone suggest what might be causing this problem? thank you!

First Click and Page Submission Timing are Different, Despite unifying them

I am using a code which emulates the next button upon clicking and selecting a choice in an MCQ question. The timing of the first click should be either similar or ahead of the page submission. However, sometimes I see the submission time is ahead of the first click by up to 100 milliseconds. Below is the code I used. Any thoughts to correct this, please. labels crashing into boxes for foreign languages (German and Dutch)

Hi all - I am using the classic layout format and can't seem to get the labels in the below question to not crash into the input boxes for the two foreign languages (German and Dutch). Save and Continue customization options?

I am building an online survey and need to find a way to allow for participants to leave the survey and return at a later time to finish. However, if someone returns to their unfinished survey, I need to prevent them from being able to go back and see their responses to the earlier portion of the survey. So essentially I need to hide the back button IF someone returns to complete a partial survey, but still record their responses from when they started the survey. Does anyone have ideas for how to pull this off? The survey will use Contact Authentication based off of a pin number.

InputText attributes for textual Matrix Table

Have a matrix table for text entry that is 2x2 for entering results of testing 2 samples 2 times. Many users will be using mobile devices so we want to set the InputText attribute to 'number'. For a single text entry the code (thanks to TomG) is: jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").attr('type', 'number'); This does not work for the 2x2 MT. Java for converting minutes to hours

Hello, I have a value of minutes (the answer of QID1). And if this value is over than 60, I want to convert this to hours and minutes. How to make javascript 'click' apply to mobile device?

Dear community, We created a questionnaire that contains quite some slider scale questions. To prevent answer biases, most of these questions have added javescript to prevent the handle from being shown until after participants click the line. This works well and the survey indicates it is compatible on mobile devices. However, now that it's online we notice that these questions do not show the handle after participants tap the line (equivalent of clicking) on mobile devices. So it seems that the response is registered, but participants get no feedback and this is very confusing. Do you know a solution for this, to make the handle appear after the first tap on the bar on a mobile device?
