I am asking participants to fill out a form and sign it (using signature field). I would like a date stamp there,..it seems awkward asking them to fill in a date. After I get the pdf, I sign and date it and return it. Any advice on adding a 'date' stamp? thanks, Chris

Hi there, I'm wondering if there is a custom javascript code that could help me. I have a csv file listing all US States (in column 1) and their counties (column 2). I want to ask participants to select their state (Q1), and then this will display only the correct counties for their state in a side-by-side matrix (Q2), where they can rate services in each county.For my first question (Q1) I am using a pick list question for US State. My second question is a side-by-side matrix (Q2) with all the relevant counties. I would like to only show the relevant counties per state, rather than display the whole list. I was thinking I could use a hidden variable or something, to use the data from my csv file, but was not sure the best way to do this. Would I need to use my CSV file to create drill down questions with the uploaded data lists, and somehow link them to the Q2 side-by-side matrix, using javascript? I just want to avoid manually creating different matrices for each state and manually

I would like participants to be able to jump between loops in a loop & merge, for example they should be able to go back to loop number 1 from loop number 5 by pressing a button. This is similar to what was asked here (https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/13821/table-of-contents-loop-and-merge) but I am specifically asking whether there is an internal variable that could be edited to achieve this.

Hi folks,I am looking for a way to display a graphic to the left of the answer choices in a multiple choice question.As you can see from the screenshot, I definded 2 delivery option bundles as the answer choices (Basic, Express). Now, I want an additional graphic explaining the dimensions of my delivery option bundles to be displayed to the left of the choices.I have to ways in mind how to do this but unfortunately no idea how to realize them technically:1) The additional graphic is displayed as the left-most choice option but survey participants are not able to select it. This is so far realized in the screenshot but I am unsure about how to prevent survey participants from choosing this explanation column.2) The additional graphic is added to the question text box which is then displayed to the left of the choice options.I hope it becomes clear what the issue is. I would like to use JavaScript to hide the next button until the correct response is entered in a text box. Participants are shown a grid and asked to enter the text coordinates (e.g., A1) in a text box.For additional context, this question is timed and set to auto advance after 60 seconds. I tried using validation on the text box, but if the validation was not met at the end of the timer, the page would reload instead of advancing. Additionally, if someone entered the incorrect text BEFORE time ran out, the page would reload and the timer would start over at 60 seconds again.So, I'm wondering if I can use JavaScript to hide the next button until the correct response is entered. Here's my syntax, which is not working:In the above syntax, I'm trying to validate the text answer of r9. I entered it two ways as the response isn't case sensitive.Where am I going wrong with this syntax? Is this the correct way to go about this?

I have a side-by-side matrix collecting contact information for up to 10 people. To minimize space, I'd like to set up the matrix to initially show just the first row or 2 and have a button below the table that they can click to "Add another contact" which will display the next empty row of the matrix only when clicked (up to 10 times). I assume this possible with JS, but I'm not sure exactly how. Has anyone done this before?

Hi there,I am trying to setup an automated workflow that takes a simple CSV of names/emails, uses the "Extract data from SFTP Files" task to grab those names, then distribute a survey to them. Qualtrics support said an SFTP file would be able to do this, but now that I have everything setup on the backend, I am starting to think that it isn't possible based off the options here:How is it that I can't just use these fields with the XM Directory task to send out surveys? Is it truly this limited, or am I dumb and missing something?Thanks for any help,Steven

For a particular question I have, I find that I need to put Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnUnload() within Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(). The solution seems to work, but I am a bit unsure if this might cause other problems. As such, I'd like to ask experts here the following questions. 1) Will there be problems if put addOnUnload() inside addOnReady()? My code structure looks like: Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(function(){ Some complicated event listener that calls this.enableNextButton()     Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnUnload(function(){ Remove event listener   });});2) There is another object that I need to remove on unload. To keep things neater, I want to put that after the closing of addOnReady(). Hence, I will have two addOnUnload() blocks. Will that cause problems?

Hi everyone. I am currently working on a survey that I would like for it to be sent out daily to users at a specific time (i.e. 8 am) at their local time zone. I want to avoid using many workflows and multiple directories to do this as a large population size will be handled for this specific survey.I cannot find a solution to this and I am not well-verse in JavaScript so any help is appreciated.

I have a survey question that generates a random string using JavaScript code, which updates an HTML element to display the string and allow responders to rate qualities of the string. I was wondering if there was an efficient way to somehow save the random string that gets generated so that it is displayed in the data report and I can see what string the responder was rating.

Hello!I have a pretty complex question and would be very grateful for your advice.I'm trying to build a survey to study people's attitudes towards contentious issues.Respondents would see a dilemma and then be invited to answer with 1 of 3 choices (For ; Neutral ; Against)I would like respondents to explain their reasoning in an open comment. So far this would be easy.However, I would like respondents to be able to see what previous respondents had said, and also give them the ability to select one or more of the pre-existing reasons, if they agree with them. If none of the existing answers match their own, they can add their own reason. Then, subsequent survey respondents would see this added to the list.This means, I need to be able to somehow pipe in answers that other respondents had given to the same question.Would this be feasible somehow?I attach a picture that shows what I'm trying to replicate, which is from previous research done by others.Thank you very much!

I am trying to create an information page (text questions only) like this:{question text 1 - always show}{question text 2 - hidden for certain respondents}{question text 3 - always show}without any spacing between the "questions". I have tried code from the community (TomG) that reduces the separator spacing... inspecting the preview shows the separator is a line. There are, however, borders around each element and I think reducing the border width (preferably top and bottom only) I have managed to color the border to show where it is by adding:div.Inner.BorderColor {border: solid #ededed;}to the html code of the first "question".I would also like to reduce the spacing of the border (border-width?) so that there is no space between lines.My preference would be to use javascript or edit the style as above (not apply a custom css to the whole survey.Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi there, I have an issue where we need to use as few page breaks as possible to maximize survey completion. The issue is that I have a side-by-side matrix table (QID7). Ideally, I wanted to use display logic on the individual answer options, however, in-page display logic does not work for individual answer options (it would force a page break and display on the next page). The purpose of this table is to only show as many options as number of children mentioned in the previous question (QID4). The maximum is 10, so if the whole table shows up, it can look intimidating and like more work than it is, especially if they only need to provide responses about one or two kids. Does anyone know any javascript that I could use to either display/hide response options based on a previous response? Hi, I'm building an experiment in which participants have to move sliders. I've defined an embedded field that will contain the manipulated slider result (after using java script). However, it seems that the javascript cannot capture the slider value (into "s1scr" variable) and thus no value is passed to "score" variable (the If statement is not executed correctly). The result is that the piped text shown in the next page is showing the "score" initial value.
