Auto advance for matrix question

Hi,for the past 3 years I was using the following JS for simulating an auto advance on matrix questions. Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){ /*Place your JavaScript here to run when the page loads*/ var that = this;var choices = this.getChoices( "radio" ).length;this.questionclick = function( event, element ){ var selected = that.getSelectedChoices().length; if ( choices == selected ) { that.clickNextButton(); }}});This code worked like a charm - but stopped working about 2 months ago! The current behaviour is:Once all subquestions in the matrix are answered, the next button gets clicked and the next question is displayed. BUT also on the next question, the next button is clicked and this question is basically not displayed. Is anyone aware of any changes made by Qualtrics, which could cause this behaviour?Or is there a different solution for auto advance on a matrix question? Thanks!Manfred

Hide radio button for one multiple choice option only in one block

Hello,I have a task for which I need to present 4 images next to each other horizontally, under the question text. I did this by writing the question text, and inserting the 4 images as multiple choice question answer options. The leftmost (first) option is not actually an option, but is a ‘target’ the other three need to be compared to. I want to hide the first radio button for these questions so that it is obvious that image is not an answer option. I tried CSS, however I cannot apply that to just one block of my survey. I tried JavaScript, however I have not been successful. I would appreciate any insight into this!Thank you!

API update responses (when a ticket is created) with a standalone workflow - bringing surveyID

There is a way to have a standalone workflow to update responses when a ticket is created (I don’t want to configure several workflows). I can do it easily when I manually input the survey ID.I’m bringing the survey ID as ticket data, and I also tried to create an API to fetch that information, but it doesn’t work.

One to One Matching using Participant ID in Smartriqs Dictator Game with 3 conditions

In Smartriqs I have seen and tried the Dictator Game with 3 conditions and corresponding 3 stakes. There the matching is based on Participant ID and participants are matched in pair randomly. Now I am designing a survey where I want to incorporate this Dictator Game with 3 condition. But the change will be in participant matching. Suppose we have 12 people in our experiment. All these are husbands and wives that is 6 married couples. I want to make sure when the matching is happening in the Dictator game, each husband is matched with his wife only and make the pair. Not with any other’s wife. For example, Husband 1 (A1) should be matched with Wife 1(B1) and Husband 2 (A2) should be matched with Wife 2 (B2). We can not allow cases where Husband 1 (A1) is matched with Wife 2 (B2) or Husband 2 (A2) is matched with Wife 1 (B1) or match between two husbands or match between two wives.I want to know if it is possible to create such condition by editing Java Script or is there any procedure t

Using Javascript to force response on dropdown questions in Javascript/HTML table?

I made a Javascript/HTML table which has multiple dropdown questions (labeled as "dropdown1_left", "dropdown1_right", etc.) within the table that I want to be required. I have not been able to figure out how to make this work. Below is my code for this specific function. When I take the survey, the console log says “Listener must be a named function.” so this may be causing the problem. When I hit the next page button, I do get a pop-up saying “Please make a selection for all required dropdowns.” but it still moves on to the next page. So some level of the validation seems to be working but ultimately not the most important part (I want it to not allow users to go to the next page until all dropdowns are answered).Any thoughts on how to make this work? I’m pretty new to Javascript and especially using it in Qualtrics so I am hoping to learn how to code this in. Javascript code to set validation using the previous selected options and current rank oder

Hi all, I am new to javascript. The validation rule I want is that respondents pass current Rank Order if the options ranked in the last two positions of the current Rank Order question are the same as the options selected in the previous Multiple Choice question (both questions have identical options and corresponding recode values). If this condition is not met, the respondent should see a warning (like a forced response message in red text below the question) when they click next. Tracking clicks on a custom button

I have added a button in my survey, which respondents can click on to read more information. I want to track whether a respondent has clicked on this button and read the additional information. While the button works well, I am not able to track if a respondent has clicked on the button and read the additional information. Below you can find the Javascript that I included to track if a respondent clicks on the button. I also include the HTML code which creates the button. Finally, I have also set embedded data to track the button: I called it “clicked1” and set it as empty. I have tried multiple times, with various Javascript options, and I have not been able to track it in any of the attempts. HelloI am trying to update my responses via API, because after Qualtrics gets the response I need to add some embedded data from my data lake.I saw this API call https://api.qualtrics.com/daed82306b1ea-update-response , but is not clear for me how do I get the response ID in the api call?

Set Embedded Data Problem - Reformatting Dates

I have a simple survey where I ask for a start & end date, and then the next block prints those dates (see screenshot below). Anyone canhelp me achieve no consecutive gender and nationality please?

I have some questions about randomizer does not work. So my survey has 22 blocks each block as an audio file. Each audio file represents gender and nationality (e.g. Japan-female, Australia-male). So I’m trying to make the blocks presented to participant with no consecutive gender and nationality. So the same gender can not be presented and the same nationality can not be presented. I set up embedded data Previousgender and PreviousNationality. I first set up randomizer in Survey flow, then under it 22 branch if (previousgender is not equal to… and previousnationality is not equal to…), then each block together with embedded data nested into each branch if. I think it is a perfect set up, however, when I preview it, although there is no consecutive gender and nationality presented, only 11 blocks presented not all of them. Could you please tell me why is that? And how to fix it? Thank you very much

Javascript help please??

Previously, this was put together for me (thanks so much):  It had been working a charm ...but suddenly, the next lines no longer appear when ‘no’ is clicked. This survey is live, so we really need it working. Can someone please check my javascript and see what’s wrong? Previously, we had issues with this not working in some browsers but it was fixed. I’ve just checked it in Firefox and it seems ok but in Chrome and Edge, it is not. Please help!

Error Calling Service

I keep trying to import a survey into Qualtrics using some code I wrote in JSON (although the files I’m trying to import are .qsf)  but every time I try to upload it into Qualtrics it keeps telling me that there is an “error calling service” and I’m not sure why. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, I would really appreciate the help!! Thanks so much!

Hiding side-by-side statements pending previous statement answer

I've got a side-by-side question with 5 statements as shown:Ideally, I'd like to hide (or blank out) Segments 2, 3, 4 and 5 unless "No" is selected for "Have you arrived at home?" in the previous statement (in this case, Segment 1). If "No" is selected in Segment 1, then Segment 2 is shown but Segments 3, 4 and 5 are hidden, unless "No" is selected for "Have you arrived at work?" in Segment 2 ...etc until all 5 segments are visible. Is there any easy way to do this? I tried just standard display logic built into the question for each statement but I don't think that worked because it was within the same question.Thanks!

Custom Code - Dropdown list filtered based on results submitted by specific respondent

I have a scenario where several people are reviewing other staff members. I have it set up now where the first question of the survey is a dropdown list filled with the people they are reviewing which is coming from the contact list, display logic showing only if data is in the contact list for that field. After they select the person they are reviewing, they go through the survey, answer questions, submit for that person, refresh the page, re-authenticate and select the next person from the dropdown.The issue I’m having, is that I’d like the dropdown to remove the last person that that person reviewed, so their list gets shorter the more people they review, so its easier for them when they have 20 people to review. Qualtrics support pointed me here and said I could use a custom code for this. Some people are reviewed by several different people, so I’d only want them to drop off the drop-down for that specific person who evaluated that person, so that person would still show up on Eva

Urgent: Javascript for numpad keyboard doesn't work in Simple layout

I added the following JS to a few questions to force the numpad keyboard to appear on phones for text input:jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" input[type='text']").attr('type', 'tel');Then I switched to the Simple Layout in Look and Feel tab. I really like this theme so wanna keep it. However, the questions with JS for numpad now show the full keyboard on phones; the code doesn’t seem to be working anymore.Any idea what could be the reason here?

SMS Distributions in XM Directory and Distribution Information

I have a question for those of you with experience using SMS distribution (1-way / individual survey link) within Qualtrics. We are exploring integrating one SMS provider with Qualtrics and I need help confirming some information regarding distribution data.  I’d like to ensure it is possible to export SMS distribution details, such as distribution date, total successful SMS messages, total failed SMS messages, etc., to an external system via SFTP - To be more specific, I need a list of all customers' External Data References and the status of each SMS message (sent or failed).   Could anyone tell me if we can access this type of data within Qualtrics? It’s important to the project create a daily routine to send this information outside Qualtrics at the end of each day.

Modify a drilldown questin using survey API

Hello,The survey API documents how to modify multiple choice, matrix and other types of questions.There is no indication about how to modify a drilldown question.Has anybody used the survey API (or any other) to programmatically modify a drilldown question?This is my use case:we run a continous survey for a customer. This survey has several drildown questions to chose related values. Let’s say cities with a store in a state. We provide to the drilldown the list of states and stores, once the client selects the state, the next drilldown only contains stores in that state.Stores in a state can change maybe monthly due to new ones joining the brand or old ones leaving the brand. Every month we must update the mapping table.I want to do that programmatically connected with my customer’s usiness systems. In order to do that I download the mapping table from their business systems, but I cannot see how to push it to update the drilldown question definition. Thanks in advance,

Honeypot questions and other anti-bot measures

Hi allI'm a PhD student using Qualtrics for an expression of interest form for recruiting participants for research. I'm encountering a lot of bots on my form despite having all of Qualtrics' security features enabled and a reCAPTCHA verification question in the survey.I have tried adding Honeypot questions (e.g., a superfluous “What is your age in years?” question) and have been able to successfully hide them using the below JavaScript:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){jQuery("#"+this.questionId).prev('.Separator').hide();jQuery("#"+this.questionId).hide();});However, the bots do not seem to be answering these questions. Intercept logic based on Page Count and Time Focused on Site > creative does not appear

Hello everyone,I am trying to set up an intercept based on page count and time focused on site.I'm probably missing some configuration as the feedback button doesn't appear even though I've spent the set time on the site and navigated to a subsequent page (as per the documentation, the creativity appears on the upload after the set elapsed time has been reached).I have enabled session-storage cookie recording in the Settings tab of the Website App Insight project, but the button still does not appear.When I remove the Page Count and Time Focused on Site restrictions, the button does appear, so it is clearly a problem specific to these logical conditions.What am I missing? Can you help me out?Thank you.

Using embedded data to count how many times spacebar is pressed

Dear community,Qualtrics-newie here. Within my Qualtrics survey, I included a game for which I want to count the number of times the spacebar is pushed. For some reason , I never manage to get the actual number in the data output.
