Hello,I want to create a survey where the first question (NPS) is already answered for them based on the embedded data. I am aware I can not use the existing functions of qualtrics to do this and will need jafa script. Has anyone already done this code and is able to share it with me?e.g. Embedded data shows 8 in the URL string. Q1.NPS, has 8 pre-selected. Ideally I would like this for the NPS question type, but open to it being a single choice question to reflect the NPS format. Thank you. 

Hi All, I am wanting to see the email domain in my distribution funnel dataset (ie not just a survey response but when a survey is sent so that I can get a record of the number of bounces by domain in a dashboard) and so I was wondering how best to do this.  My thinking was to create a stand alone workflow using the Experience iD change, a code task using the piped text for:Contact ID: (~{qde://objectId})Email:  ~{qde://common.Email} then taking the string after the @ and then updating an embedded data field in the directory perhaps through an API (as I don’t want to have to select a mail list).  I would create an embedded field prior in the directory and call it Email_Domain. I think this part would be feasible but I assume that still wouldn’t be connected to the distribution funnel.  How do I do that bit? Alternatively if there is a way to do this directly in the distribution funnel that would be great.  I wante

We are using the List Distributions API endpoint to extract distribution history from Qualtrics and load to an internal system. The endpoint supports using a Mailing List ID filter to only include results with distributions that were linked to a specific mailing list. This is being used to only include results from the production directory/mailing list. This works well for individual transaction based distributions where a single contact is sent an invite via a workflow using the “XM Directory” task + “Send a survey via email” task. We also have surveys where they are distributed via an ETL/bulk file load process where the transactions are imported into the directory and distributed to many survey recipients in a single workflow using the “Add contacts and transactions to XMD” task + “Send a survey via email” task. We have had some issues when using Qualtrics Exit Intent trigger for intercept surveys - it is supposed to detect when a visitor’s cursor moves to the upper regions of the browse but after adding a screener question to the survey, we have found that it only detects Exit intent around ~17% of the time and for some internal employees the survey has even shown when a user is filling out information on a checkout page for example. We are working with our internal engineers to try and setup Exit intent using some mix of behaviors that indicates a shopper is having issues/frustrations and is at risk of leaving the site. Has anyone had any success doing something similar? If yes, what were the mix of behaviors you used?

I'm working on a survey where I need to conditionally add text to an existing question based on an embedded data value.Specific requirement:Embedded data variable: Example_Survey = ABC Add "Sample Text" to a question Only add this text if the class equals "ABC"  If the value is anything other than "ABC", do NOT add the textSince we're running multiple survey variations within the same survey and it is only two words in one questions, I'd prefer to implement this using CSS classes and JavaScript rather than Qualtrics' built-in logic, as this would be cleaner and more maintainable.How does a Class recognize the embedded data value?Do I have to create a nested Embedded data field?Thank you!

Hi! For some reason, my qualtrics survey does not seem to run smoothly on Microsoft Edge. The error message “something went wrong - we were unable to connect to our servers. Hi Community,I am exploring ways to create contacts in a Qualtrics Mailing List via API in batches.From what I see, the only API-based option today is passing a JSON array toPOST/directories/{directoryId}/contactsApart from this JSON payload approach, is there any other API-style method or workaround to create contacts directly into a mailing list?I’m aware of the Directory Import Job (CSV) or SFTP Import but that’s file-based rather than a real-time API pattern. Curious if anyone has found an alternative purely API-driven approach?

Hi Brains TrustI have some java script in a survey that calculates the respondent’s age and the age they will be at a specific date in the future from their date of birth. This is then used as embedded data to govern how they move through the survey.This was working fine before Christmas but have returned from the break to find it is no longer working at all (no edits have been made to any part of the survey). Info on Qualtrics product updates doesn’t shed any light on this. I’ve contacted my organisation’s IT security area to see if any updates have been made there to prevent it running - that is a possibility as it previously didn’t work when on the network but worked when completing the survey on a personal device (which is what real life would be as it’s a consumer survey). But now it doesn’t work on any device at all. I am not using Simple Layout.Has anyone experienced anything like this before? And, more importantly, does anyone have any ideas on why? I’m

I would like to remove or put the asterisk before a question with a requirement force response in white. So that it is not visible anymore. Has anyone custom CSS code for this? 

Hello. I'm having trouble because the randomization function overrides the display logic/skip logic/survey flow function.What I'm trying to do is to show six images (2 images at a time, the order of six images is randomized) and stop showing the images once a participant chooses one of the images. Currently, I ask "Are you willing to accept either one of the offer?" and want to skip the rest of the images and move to the next block. So, some participants will make a decision on the second round (see 4 images and do not see the rest 2 images) and some participants will make a decision on the final (third) round (see all 6 images).If doesn't matter whether I use the randomization function in the block or loop and merge function as long as I can make the survey work as I explained. I tried both. However, as the randomization or loop function override survey flow/display logic/skip logic, I could not figure out how to stop participants from seeing the rest of the images on

Hello,I am trying to find ways to convert my survey export (json file) to be compatible with Qualtrics format. I saw that there was a way to convert it into RIOS format then convert it into the QSF format. Was anyone successful in doing so? My institution is moving from Checkbox to Qualtrics.

 I have a very simple side-by-side with an open-text field for adding additional comments for each item; however, when I go to enter text into the open-text field, all respondent input is centered, which can be disorienting for someone who has a LOT to say. Qualtrics support says there isn’t a built-in way to do this (like the Rich Text editor) and I cannot for the life of me figure out what kind of JavaScript would be needed to change this alignment behavior within the open-text fields themselves.There is a similar-sounding question that has already been answered here, but the problem in my survey’s side-by-side isn’t the

It appears Qualtrics has included it’s own Calendar Question Type. Yay!However, it looks like it also includes a time-interval formatting feature where people HAVE to pick a time. Currently there is not an option to exclude this.I contacted Support and they said maybe there is someone in the community that can recommend code to get rid of it.Would love some help. Thank you!

I have a survey with sensitive topics that I need participants to be able to withdraw from at any time, while still being redirected to a debrief page and then an “end of survey” element for compensation. As it stands, I have three separate debrief blocks (one for early withdrawal, one for late withdrawal, and one for completion). I also have three “end of survey” elements, with each one having its own redirection link so that participants may be compensated based on how much they completed. Right now, I have it set up so that if a participant clicks “Prefer not to continue,” their “withdraw” embedded data variable will either be changed to a “1” (early withdrawal) or “2” (late withdrawal). Hi everyone,I’m working on a survey where the header logo is added via Look & Feel. By default, Qualtrics renders the logo with a generic alt attribute (e.g. alt="logo"), which technically supports screen readers but isn’t very descriptive.For testing, I was able to override the alt attribute at runtime using JavaScript. Before considering this further, I wanted to confirm whether this is a robust and reliable solution for production, or if there are known limitations or risks.My question is: Is there any supported or recommended approach in Qualtrics to define custom alt text for the header logo? Or is relying on Qualtrics’ default accessibility handling the only viable option at the theme level? Would appreciate any guidance or best practices from the community.Thanks in advance!

Hi all, Has anyone programmed the EQ-5D VAS scale in Qualtrics? I have web development experience so have been trying to take a slider bar and tweak it to look exactly like the scale, but currently I can't seem to get anywhere close. I also tried playing around with the Graphics sliders, but still no such look. EuroQol have very strict requirements so the VAS scale has to look exactly like the hard copy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am creating a registration form that requires entering a child’s birthdate as a form field question. Based on the birthdate, I want to use branch logic to direct them to other parts of the form. For example, if the birthdate is between 09/02/2022 and 09/01/2023, I want to branch to the Pre-K portion of the form, etc. Since there is no option for branching before or after a date, I am trying to use “greater than or equal to” and “less than or equal to”. But since the entry is a date and not a number, this is not working. How do I fix this or convert the form field date to a number to use branch logic?
