You've already compelted this survey error | XM Community

We are using a common device to survey an offline population. The issue we are running into is this:

Once an employee completes the survey, the next employee receives the message: “you’ve already completed this survey”.

The only way we have found around this is cumbersome. We have to clear the cache after every survey completion on the device. This is time consuming, and doesn’t work well when trying to survey a large population.

We do utilize an authenticator on our survey. Does anyone know if its possible to work in code to auto-clear the cache upon authentication, or some feature in Qualtrics that will fix this issue? We have not been able to figure out a  better solution.

Hi @XM_JoshB ,

Since you mention clearing cache works, is the “Prevent multiple session” enabled in survey options?

Will disabling it help?

@Chee Heng_SZ , I’ve passed this information down to the local team working with the device. I believe we already disabled this, but I could be mistaken. I am hoping this will be the solution they are looking for.

Hi @XM_JoshB,

Please disable “Prevent multiple submissions” and then publish the survey. This will solve the issue.

If you already had that disabled and still are “stuck” we had a similar workaround.

If you don’t mind leaving the thank you message up from the previous respondent (if people are taking it back-to-back), I edited the thank you message to have an extra sentence that said something like, if someone else needs to take this survey, click “here” and the “here” was linked with the survey link.  For some reason, this worked to bring them back to take a new survey, but we didn’t get caught up in the cache.  No idea as to why this worked though as far as getting around not getting stuck in cache.

Using incognito windows for new surveys might help as well.
