Has anyone ever used an API to create a survey record(incomplete) and then retrieve the URL?

Has anyone ever used an API to create a survey record(incomplete) and then retrieve the URL for this record. On a different application we use a POST CREATE_PARTY request where we pass many embedded fields to create a record in the survey application and return the survey url for that record. We do this in our student portal where ultimately what the student sees is a link they click, which opens their survey. I want to do the same with Qualtrics but am not seeing this in their help docs.

I'd like to be able to visualize the response duration times for one of my surveys, preferably in a bar chart, as well as see mean response time. Is this possible?

Using Pardot (Salesforce) cookies to auto-fill Qualtrics survey fields

Excuse my ignorance as I am mostly asking this for a coworker and I'm not as familiar with Pardot. Does anyone know of a GOOD way to auto-fill Qualtrics survey fields (name, email, phone, etc.) if a user has a Pardot cookie on their browser?

How do I make side by side question mobile friendly?

We have a side by side question , it has 5 statement and 1 column with 11 scale rating. It looks good on a desktop view, however when viewed on a mobile we see a scroll bar. attached is a screenshot of the same. I want to use a mobilefriendly question without making any changes. !

How to integrate Qualtrics Basic Survey with SAP Conversational AI ?

Hi, I have created a basic survey in qualtrics now my goal is to integrate it with SAP Conversational AI. Through some research I got to know that it needs to be done via API, can you please help me find api for the survey I created ? I followed the link https://api.qualtrics.com/docs/root-url but that did not help as well. Is it because I am currently using trial version ? Will I not be able to integrate Qualtrics with other platforms without moving to license version ? If not could you please help in doing this. Thanks in advance. Regards, Vinay

How to combine surveys into a single survey flow?

Hello, we recently upgraded from the free license to a paid version. My impression of "survey flow" was that once more than one survey could be activated (in the paid version), survey flow would allow us to string together multiple surveys into a single experience. One example of this would be having one survey that is an informed consent form, and then another survey containing the actual questions. I was anticipating survey flow would allow me to order these and have informed consent appear, and once agreed to, the user would be taken to the actual survey. This doesn't appear to be how survey flow works, since I cannot access any of my other surveys when adding steps there. What's the best practice when attempting to do something simple like this (informed consent, followed by a survey)? As far as I can tell, you can't build informed consent directly into a survey itself. Thanks in advance for your comments.

How to sort participants into their randomised Survey 1 conditions when they complete Survey 2

Hi, I'm collecting data from participants at 2 time points (Survey 1, and Survey 2). In Survey 1, participants will be randomised into one of two conditions (A or B). When they complete Survey 2, I'd like participants who were randomised into condition A to only see materials relevant for condition A (and the same for those who were in condition B). Is this possible? *edit* I won't have access to participants' email addresses, but I will be able to trace them through a participant ID.

Merging data from qualtrics and paper surveys

I conducted a survey using qualtrics platform as well as manual paper surveys. I now want to analyze the entire data together. How can I merge my paper survey data with the qualtrics data. Do I need to enter all the paper survey data one by one on the qualtrics survey link that I shared for data collection? Is there some easier option? Thanks in advance!

How to exclude False Detractors on NPS?

Hello! We recently started using Qualtrics for our NPS survey. Our previous system automatically excluded false detractors from our score and I am trying to find a way to accomplish something similar with Qualtrics. False Detractor example: Client gave a rating of 0 but in their comments they said that they love everything we do for them but hate competition. I reached out to support and they suggested creating branch logic in the survey flow with conditions that say if a detractor and they comment with specific words such as, happy, love, great, amazing etc. then don't record the response. While this will work, I agree support when they said that there is opportunity to miss real detractors. Real Detractor example: My fiend loves working with you all but I had the worst experience ever. Has anyone run into this, if so how did you handle it? Thanks in advance!

Email Actions Stop Working After Changing Embedded Data Email Addresses?

I am using Qualtrics like an application system in which I use embedded data fields that = specific email addresses. I use actions to create an almost Docusign-like process in which a retake response link (?Q_R) is utilized to send the same survey to multiple respondents (i.e., approver1, approver2, submitted). I take embedded data fields that = participant's answers from previous questions and bring them into new application summary pages that each new participant/approver sees. As I have built this, periodically I have been changing the email addresses associated with those embedded data fields and am finding that the email actions just stop working after changing these? I have tried recreating the actions, not using embedded data emails within the actions but rather I type their emails directly into the action, and have even tried to switch from using an action to a trigger. Nothing will work. Any ideas?

Unique URL per respondent PLUS Consent form PLUS Anonymous Survey

I'm trying to set up a survey that ensures that respondents can't answer more than once, that also has an IRB Approved Consent form, which I understand I can then redirect consenting respondents to another survey (the questions in my study). I'm getting stuck on the set up that only allows one response and how to ensure only responses from that link can be redirected to the second survey. Any help? Thank you!

How can I use merged variables in "cross tabs"?

Hi! In the "Data & Analysis" part, I created a variable (by merging several variables) using the "Formula Variable Creation" function. I want to use this newly created variable in the "Cross tabs" function, but I cannot find it (please see screenshot for detail). Is there any way I can use a merged variable in the "Cross tabs"? Multiple labels in chart widgets?

Hello! I am reporting NPS by store name (see chart below). In addition to the store name, I would like the label to also show the store number. So instead of showing "Store ABC" it would show "123 - Store ABC". Both information are stored in embedded variables (2 different ones). I have thousands of responses, and hundreds of stores, so I want to avoid creating a new variable to manually combine the two via recoding. Is there a chart widget I can use to show two labels? I tried "playing" with different widgets with no luck... Or do you have any other suggestion? Thanks for your help! !

Creating age groups based on yyyymmdd date of birth number

Hoping someone already has an answer to this. I've got date of births coming in with the format yyyymmdd e.g. 19900805 and I want to get them into the following age groups: 15 years or less 16-19 Years 20-24 Years 25-29 Years 30-34 Years 35-39 Years 40-44 Years 45-49 Years 50+ Years ATM our solution means the age groups created from DateofBirth will not be up to date next year. For example, someone born in in 2000, will be categorise in the 16-19 Age Group, next year it should fall in the 20-24 Age Group. But the nature of the variables feeding into Qualtrics do not allow for that automatic update. Hoping someone might know how to create a more automated version! Any help would be great Thanks

Display different questions sets based on how many times the user has completed the survey

I'm keen to know if you can use logic to display different sets of questions in a survey based on whether the respondent has previously responded to the or not. Put simply the first time they do the survey they get one set, and then when they do the survey again they get another. Any help would be great!

How do I assign contacts to a specific variable per mailing?

Hopefully I can put this properly into words. I would like to assign a variable to each e-mail distribution. For example, Bob may be part of the customer service program. I would like to schedule an e-mail distribution that passes 2019 05 CS as the program rather than include that as a question. I thought I could add it as an external data reference, and I managed to do that. But then later Bob goes through the leadership development program, and I want to schedule the same survey that passes 2019 07 Leadership as the external data reference. But as I do this, it looks like Bob's external data reference in the CS survey changes to the Leadership value, which of course could be a problem if he doesn't complete the survey before this changes. My intent is to collect the survey for everything but filter the results according to the training programs they've been identified with. I'm starting to think that External Data Reference is not the way to go.

Timed Question/Descriptive Text Question Auto-advance without Next Button?

Is there a way to have a first question of my survey that is a timed question but it is a descriptive text question so no selection is made and then I want to be able to hide the Next button? This is more of an OCD thing. Ha ha.

pre-onLoad jQuery/JS?

onLoad is working great with jQuery to hide unwanted elements for customization. For instance, I'm hiding the question text as well as all the slider numbers. I have noticed, however, that there is a slight delay in which you can see all the elements that are eventually hidden in onLoad. I know the reason is because onLoad is not executed until the page is loaded, but this does provide a flash of the ultimately hidden areas to the user when loading the survey. Is there a way to "beat" onLoad to the punch by essentially hiding these elements earlier in the process? I think css would work, but i'm not entirely sure what the page IDs are for the slider numeric labels and the question text, etc. -- or where to really put that. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Proceeding without actually selecting response with filled-in text box

Hi, Is it possible to allow the respondent to proceed when an _unselected_ 'Allow Text Entry' category contains text? This is a question that uses Carry Forward Choices with several categories that allow text entry. It uses Default Choices to bring forward the text entered when the respondent selected these categories in an earlier question. (But the categories are not selected by default.) ! We want the respondent to _see_ any text entries, but only select the relevant ones. (And to not have to manually clear the text box to proceed.) Thanks! Thomas

Presenting full screen uploaded videos

To Qualtrics community good day, I have a problem presenting full screen uploaded videos. I used a descriptive text>rich content editor>video icon and then uploaded an FLV file (with mute audio)>advanced settings, then set the dimensions to 1350X450 to fit to a full screen, but the video will show neither in the preview nor when I activated the study and not even when I uploaded a video from YouTube. Could you please help me?

Reports: Automatic Email Action or Trigger Based on Response ID

I am trying to create an agreement contract in Qualtrics that would then auto send results to the person/s who completed the agreement immediately after completion. Rather than an email going out with a summary of their responses embedded in an email, I would like them to have a pdf version of the agreement attached to the email. I was just going to create a customized report or something like that and have it trigger based on something like Response ID but am not sure how to do this or if it is the best way? Is there a way to do this or do you have alternate suggestions?
