I have surveys set up as scholarship applications, they include email triggers that send a recommendation request. The recommendation requests have a link to a second survey for collecting the recommendation letters. I have embedded some data in the URL (student name and email address, some other info) so that it automatically populates in the recommendation form. The problem is that any time there is a space in the embedded data it causes the URL to not work, and come up with {"code":403,"message":"Invalid Token"} in the browser for the person who is trying to send a recommendation. Yes, I know how to put validation on a question that can force students to not use a space, but some people have a space in their names. (Although some test have just turned out to be people who hit the spacebar before moving to the next field.) I would like to create embedded fields that would be filled from the student's responses, but transformed to remove spaces. (Or, hypothetically any other offen

Hello Community, I'm having a hard time doing what I think should be rather simple. I have figured out how to create a bucketing variable for my percentiles, and now I simply want to generate bar graphs to show these calculated percentiles on a per-respondent basis. I've already been told that data analysis is meant to approach things from an aggregate rather than individual reporting level. I can get around this by using filters; however, the capabilities of even a simple bar graph appear quite limiting (unless I'm just in the wrong place). Here is an example of me trying to just show the percentile on a scale of 1-9. The bar represents the percentile in which this person's response fell. First off, I can't seem to make it so that gridlines appear for each Y-axis item. I also cannot seem to add a label to either axis (for example "Percentile" along the Y-axis). I am writing a multiple-choice, multiple answer question with 27 possible selections. These selections will be carried forward into a follow-up question related to the importance of that selection to the respondent. (I should also note that I have several sets of questions like this). For readability, I would like to be able to group the answers by category, so that the selections only display if the top-level category is selected. Hello, I have a question, "How old are you today?" that is set as numeric type. On mobile devices, I want the text field to bring up the telephone keyboard so it is easy to type in numbers. I currently have this in the js: `jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").attr('type', 'tel');` This works - I am shown just a number keypad when I focus on this field. Problem is that the field on mobile no longer obeys the 60px width setting (desktop still shows a 60px field). I do not want a full-width field for a 2-digit input. Can someone please help me tell Qualtrics to keep this field 60px wide? !

We are experiencing issues with the Preview button (from within the surveys). It works in some surveys, others it will not. I've made no changes to existing surveys where the preview has previously worked, but now is not. I've tested in both Firefox and Chrome; same issue with each browser. I've checked settings/survey flow, active/closed, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary. A coworker checked surveys in her Qualtrics account and is experiencing similar issues. If we use the "preview survey" option from the Projects page (Action menu), the preview opens successfully in a pop-up window. Still, the preview button within the surveys is not working. Again, this is true for both Firefox and Chrome. If the preview didn't work on any survey, then I would suspect a browser issue, but it's only a few surveys. Additionally, it can work on a survey, then stop working. So, no consistency in the problem. Any suggestions? We're a bit perplexed and need to resolve.

I am a newbie to this forum and have a question about how to match survey responses over different time points. I have a list of emails and I want to send an anonymous survey link to each email address at 3 time points in the coming year. Can I assign a unique RESPONSE ID to each email address so that I can identify respondents at 2 or 3 subsequent data collection time points using this same anonymous ID? Perhaps there is a specific support video on this to get me started? Thanks for any advice offered.

I've built some custom functions to calculate and display values based on embedded field values. Right now the functions run whenever we click on a radio button in the survey. I have a calculation in my survey flow for a field based on questions answered. Once I get to the dashboard, I need to do a calculation that says if Field Name>5 then make Field Name2 5, otherwise Field Name2 = Field Name. Is this possible? We are trying to calculate the average of 5 dimensions, but not all dimensions will have a value so we want to divide by those that do. This has been a struggle so any help would be appreciated!!

Hello, I'm attempting to create a bucketing custom variable to store percentile ranges that will cover 1-99 percentile ranges for an embedded data field I have. Example, variable values between 0-1.25 fall within percentile 1, 1.50-2.25 fall within percentile 2, and so forth. The problem I am seeing is the bucketing type will only let you define ranges that are limited by the data you already have recorded. Although I may not have data that falls within the range 0-1.25 recorded just yet, I still want to define all the percentile ranges up front so that if/when that does happen, I can determine the correct percentile. How can I override this on the bucketing variable creation screen, so that I can define my 1-99 percentiles now, in anticipation of future data I will collect? Thanks in advance, Chris

Hello! I am trying to include the NPS Grouping the respondent belongs to as a text (not a score) in order to pipe it in the subject line of my email triggers. Ex. of subject line = "A [Promoter/Detractor] just completed the survey" Is there an easy way to do that, that already exists? Or do I have to create an embedded variable based on the NPS score in the survey flow, and pipe-in that? Ex: create an embedded data "NPS_Grouping" with value "Promoter" and "Detractor" based on NPS score. I have 20 email triggers to create, one per region (as each region has its director) - and have to repeat for Promoters and Detractors. So I'm looking for the most efficient way to create those triggers. Thanks for your help!

hi, when i download the data i want to be able to see the block name, is there a way to do this? i am trying to create 5 conditions which are randomised, and then within those 5, 50 questions are further randomised. as each condition is different, the questions are using similar stimuli, (just tweaked). im trying to see how the responses to the questions differ across conditions. can i get the downloaded table to be a lot clearer when finding the questions, as they are the same across conditions, so that i can sort the answers fairly easier? anything that can help me see the responses to the questions across conditions would help greatly. its worth mentioning that the questions each have their own block. Hi All, While running calls to update contacts in mailing list and creating survey response exports I'm getting 500 -Internal Server Error but this is inconsistent. The code itself is fine due to the inconsistent nature I believe that the problem is on the Qualtrics api side. I also have function that sends the call again on 500 errors, but sometimes the next attempt will work while other times I will get a repeated 500 error. Hello, I have the following problem: I have responses from a daily survey where each respondent belongs to one of several categories (more than 60), and I want to know what is the response rate for each one of this categories. For reasons I don't understand, the Distributions Table widget ignores all kinds of dashboard filters, so I only have the general response rate. I created a new column which is a group by and count of each category, so if in a particular day there are 20 rows with category A , 15 with category B, and 30 with category C, then the new column looks like this: rowNumber cat count 1 A 20 2 A 20 3 B 15 4 C 30 5 A 20 And so on. What I wanted to do is to create a Custom Metric consisting of the sum of all the respondents who finished the survey divided by whatever happens to be the count for that category that day.
