Importing data to Qualtrics

Forum|alt.badge.img+2
I have an Excel file with data that I would like to import to an existing Qualtrics survey. I have coded all of the responses in the Excel file and everything is uploading fine except for the multiple choice questions where respondents could select more than one option. I need to know how to format those columns in Excel to get those responses to upload.

@psanders You should be ready to go -- if you already have it coded in Excel the system should import all of your columns as is. You may need to be creative when you're coding or recoding variables in StatsIQ but should be all set to import your responses and analyze them.

Everything does upload, except the data for multiple choice questions where the respondent can select multiple responses. Currently in the Excel file, each response for those questions is in a separate column, which I think should work, but doesn't seem to. I'm using the Legacy Importer.

Hi
I am new to Qualtrics.
I am trying to import csv file to use the data as possible embedded data (? I am not sure that is the right approach).
For instance, I would like to import a table that updates Fiscal Year (having columns such as Year, Quarter, Month) that has 4 columns and 12 rows.
Is is possible?
Thanks in advance.
Justin

Justin_Doh,
Your post is about a completely different subject than the original post. Please start a new thread.

Did you ever figure this issue out? I'm struggling with the same thing. Thanks for any advice!

@ssarraf
Yes.
It has been working fine.
I just have to structure a csv file in a way that each survey taker gets both frequencies and pointer to each survey questions horizontally. Then, this csv file becomes a Contact List (like a input table).
After this structure is set up, those inputs (Frequencies and Pointer to each questions) become embedded data.
Please see bottom image for reference.

Does anyone have any insight into the original question? I want to upload multi-select answers as a single Embedded Data field. Do I import multiple columns OR combine all answers into one column first? If the latter, how should I format it, with delimiters (preferably with a comma), so that Qualtrics recognizes the distinct separation of texts? Do I need spaces in between the commas for coding purposes (hair , skin , nails)? Or can it be imported as how it would normally be written (hair, skin, nails)?
