Is there a way to record which random number was generated by the random integer command?

I have a survey where I am generating a random number between 1 and 6 (${rand://int/1:6}) in loop and merge and piping it from loop and merge into the text of a question. I want to record what random number was was presented in each of the loops. Right now I have JS code that is saving the piped text from the loop and merge into an embedded data field, but it looks like it is saving a new random number to the embedded data field and not the number that was presented. Does anyone know if there is a way to record the actual number that was shown/generated, rather than a new random number?

Pipe answers into a carefully styled rich-text email trigger?

I'm building a signup survey for an undergraduate program, and I want to email the responses to my survey every time it's filled out. But I also want them to _look nice_. Right now when I set up the trigger I get an email that lists the questions and answers one after another with no styling. It's quite difficult to read, and we want to use this signup form to create a document that can be sent to external stakeholders for approvals & digital signatures. Is there a way to pipe the answers from a survey into the (rich text) body of the email trigger?

send individual surveys at specific date

I am trying to set up a longitudinal survey. In order to do so, I would like to send out surveys on very specific dates. For the initial period, participants will supply the end-date of an event, and I would like to pipe that info into an email trigger (or something similar). I know how to do email triggers, but there are limited date-delay options. For follow-ups, I want emails to go out approximately every 3 months after the initial survey completion date. I suspect this may require something in Contacts or JavaScript, but would very much appreciate advice. I would also like to set reminders (i.e., email every 3 days within a +/- 7 day window until participant completes the survey).

Can I add display logic to a block of questions?

I have many questions and some need to display at different times. I have created blocks of questions and I was hoping to add display logic to the block rather than having to add it to each individual question in the block.

Sending email to contact lists with embedded data in message body

Hi All, I have a contact list with several extra columns named "age", "school", and "occupation". I want to email the contact list and refer to the individual information in these extra columns. However, when I use embedded data in the message body, the email didn't show the referred information in those columns. Is there a way to achieve my goal? Below is what I've tried: Dear Worker, Your age is ${m://age}, your school is ${m://school}, and your occupation is ${m://occupation}. Also, can I send email to the list by filtering based on one or two columns in the contact list? For instance, I want to send a certain message to those with age > 16 years old and who are still students using the "age" and "occupation" columns in the contact list. Is this possible? How can I randomize blocks until desired count?

I have 15 blocks of questions which I have randomized so each respondent gets one block. I only need 3 responses for each block, so I need a way to leave blocks out of my flow when they get three respondents each. I can't find a way to include counts as conditions... any help will be much appreciated!

Hello, I had to add some questions at the last minute before rushing a survey out, and didn't have time to edit question names or labels. 1. Can I change those two things while the survey is still open without losing data? 2. If not, can I do it once the survey is closed with no repercussions?

Is it possible to give respondents feedback based on their performance?

Hello! For my masters thesis, I would like to give respondents a feedback signal based on how well they scored on a quiz. I would like to display a different signal for those who scored above a certain threshold but I've been unable to figure how to do this. To clarify a little: Respondents will be asked to answer 10 multiple choice questions. For each question only one of the answers is right and if they select that answer they get a score of 1. After the quiz they are asked to indicate how likely they think it is they scored in the top 25% of quiztakers. After this I want to show them a signal that shows them (with a level of uncertainty) whether or not they actually scored in the top 25%. They are asked to give their belief again and are presented with the same noisy signal again. This will be repeated a few times and afterwards the experiment is over. It is important that there is a difference in signals between those who actually placed in the top 25% and those who didn't. Ther

Possible to export permissions for a user type?

Hi, I'm a brand new brand administrator. Love that Qualtrics has these community sites. I can view the user type permissions in the Qualtrics window. I want to be able to compare permissions across three different user types. Can I export the list of permissions for each user type, into something like Excel?

Built-In Completeness Score

We use surveys to collect information from required from our survey base. Some times, though rarely, they will not have enough information to answer a question, so no forced answers are used. As an alternative to coding in a 'does not apply' or 'unknown' to every question, it would be nice if Qualtrics computed a % response for each 'complete' survey. It would also be great to be able to disambiguate conditional question-skips from voluntary no answer-given skips (both show up as -99 in the exported data).

How can I customize the report exported in CSV?

I have a matrix with three columns and 30 rows. The report is showing all the responses for the first cell of the first row, then all the responses for the second cell of the first row.... and so on. I want to see the whole first row, then the whole second row, etc. Also, I want to remove anonymity, but that doesn't seem to work unless you have a specific link for everyone individually.

Extending expiration for partial responses

Hi- we sent personal links to survey respondents. It was decided that we should extend our original survey deadline, so there are now people with nearly complete surveys that expire tomorrow and I'd like to not have them expire tomorrow. Is there a way to do this?

Dear all, I am very new to Qualitrics and conducting a survey that investigates some aspects of a website. In total, every respondent needs to visit 5 different websites (out of a pool of 70 websites) and then answer the same matrix question for each one. I'm a bit confused about how to make sure that every respondent receives 5 different links and that all 70 websites are somewhat evenly visited. So far, I have created 5 different matrix question blocks, but I am unable to use the Randomizer properly. I have distributed the 70 websites to the 5 question blocks (so 14 website links each). In theory, I'd like the randomizer to choose 1 out of the 14. But practically I am not able to attribute one randomizer to each of the 5 questions. Could somebody be so kind and help me out? thanks! best, Claudia

Adding A New Variable To Assessments

Dear Qualtrics Community, In our research, we are performing 22 separate assessments and so far we had 72 responses for each of them. We would like to add ID numbers to each assessment but, when we tried to edit, the Qualtrics gives a warning which states "Editing could invalidate the results!". I wonder, how will adding a new question affect our previously collected data? If it will not affect, could we also reassign already recorded data for the new feature "ID"? Imbedded images in our invitation letter not displaying- due to security of firewall

We have some imbedded images in our invitation letter (School logo, director's signature) that are not displaying I believe because of the security associated with the school's email accounts. Is there any kind of work around for this? They display fine in hotmail, gmail, yahoo etc. Thanks so much for your assistance. Kristen

Can we provide the respondent an option of downloading the survey BEFORE they fill the survey?

I want to allow the respondents to download or print the survey before they fill out their responses. This is primarily because they will need to collect data from different sources to fill the survey and having a copy of the full survey will allow them to plan ahead. Is this possible in Qualtrics?

How to program 1 set of questions into two different conditions?

Hi all, I am using qualtrics for my masther thesis. I was wondering if someone could help me with one thing. In my survey I have two conditions (consisted of two manipulated photographs), participants have to write little texts about the photograph and situation. The thing is, participant should see the photograph while writhing the texts, BUT the questions with text entry (wherein they write) can only be programmed once. Otherwise it will appear strange in my dataset. Thus: 1 block of questions, and only the photograph should differ consisted of which condition the participant is (randomly) assigned to. Is this even possible? If yes, how can I do this? Thank you in advance!

Is it possible to have respondents randomly answer one questionblock?

I would like to have respondents randomly answer one of several questionblock, for a between-subject research design. I was wondering if its possible to have respondents answer one block, chosen at random, instead of having every respondent answer all blocks. There are some blocks that everyone needs to answer, but others I would like to separate.
