Supported Languages

Dear, I have a doubt about the supported languages within TextiQ. Most specifically about Dutch, but also the other ones which are mentioned on one help page and not on the other: The “Topics in Text iQ” help page indicates only 6 languages are supported. While the sub-page for Sentiment analysis indicates some more languages a.o. Dutch (but not some major languages like Russian, Arabic, …). Also it’s indicated “...we use Google software to perform sentiment analysis on these responses in their native languages.”. However Dutch is not listed on Google’s sentiment analysis API’s language support page… Does anyone know exactly which items are and aren't supported in Dutch please? Thanks,

Can I quota on page randomisation and demographic information?

Hello, I hope you're good and have had a nice weekend! I'm currently considering the logistics of a survey I plan to build and want to know my options for quotas. Basically, I'm looking to survey 200 respondents in total, 100 males and 100 females. Gender will be an initial screening question within the survey. I want to understand consumer opinions of two different advertising images within my survey (control and experimental image condition), with respondents only seeing one image to reduce issues around fatigue etc. This will mean that 50 males will see the control image and 50 males will see the experimental image and the same for females. There is also screening (qualifier) criteria on age and location, but this will be the same for both males and females. I was wondering if there is a way (either without logic or if someone has an existing logic) of randomly assigning males and females to either the experimental or control image condition, but applying quotas so I get 50 fo

How to combine questions with a feedback and without feedback in the same survey

Hello Qualtrics community! My survey contains four questions and I need to give a feedback to the participant only for three of them. If I select the option "Show scoring after each question" through the scoring tool, all my questions will receive a feedback, even the one which is an open question (a memory recall question). I know that I can personalise each feedback through piped text but I would like to know which is the more appropriate procedure because the reaction time question and the verbal comprehension question count 30-40 items and I guess that this may need a lot of lines of piped text, is that feasible??? Can two different sources add to the same embedded data variable?

I will be running a survey, and the respondents will be coming from one of several publications. Many of the respondents will come via an invitation, and I know how to add embedded data from a contact list. Other respondents will be coming after clicking on an anonymous link. I know how to add embedded data from the URL. What I don't know - can one embedded data variable be filled from two different sources (contact list data and the anonymous links) on the same survey?

Can I send survey link to participants such that they are not able to take the survey but just view.

Hi We have two group of people that we want to show our survey to. One of the group is intended to take the survey i.e. provide answers. The other group is intended to just view the survey (in pdf or whatever format). Is it possible to send this kind of survey invitation? Regards, Haris ur Rehman

redirect to url in sample list

Hello, I'm wondering if it is possible to customize the redirect link for each respondent. In my sample list, I have a field called 'googleURL' which contains a specific url for each respondent. I'd like to pipe that in so that each respondent is redirected to that specific url when they end the survey. Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

How to combine responses to matrix questions from different question blocks

Hi, I built a survey where I ask participants to evaluate four short texts. The survey has been responded and I extracted all the answers. In the survey, I have four blocks of questions. In each block, respondents are required to evaluate one text. The questions in the four blocks are the same but the text that requires evaluation changes. For each block, there’re three text options that are ramdomised to present only one of the 3 texts to the respondent. In analysing the data, I’d like to combine the responses to the matrix questions for all the texts (from the four blocks). As I said above, all the questions are the same, only the texts evaluated change. Is there a way to combine the responses of the matrix questions for all blocks for analysis? I'd like to do this because I intend to make correlations between demographic data and the way texts were evaluated in general. Many thanks!

Unable to save or update embedded data variable from JS

Hello Folks, I have a simple one-question survey: ! and I've added an embedded variable, var1, at the beginning of the survey flow. ! Using the following JS code, I am not able to successfully update var1. ! The call to 'alert' shows this empty/un-updated value of var1. ! I've followed what other folks have commented here: https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/1928/setting-embedded-data-using-javascript but I have not been successful. Results/Reports per-user?

I started playing around in the "Reports" section today, and I like a lot of the analytics "widgets" that are available in the default report. I see how to use these to create custom reports. I'd like to know how to adapt these to show responses on a per-user basis...for example, the following is a standard table that shows some good information: ! What would be great is if I could generate this report for user with the email address = (something) and have this table also report that participant's response to this question. I see how the filtering can be accomplished with a filter, but when I do this it just interprets that users response as the entire user population (1), and all the cells just become that user's response, because it's not comparing it vs. the responses collectively. Ideally, a personalized report would show a person's response against the collective calculations for the entire population, so he/she could see how their response compares. How can I delete all closed loop tickets?

I have hundreds of dummy tickets in my closed loop system, generated from running test responses. I would like to delete all of them, without clicking on the trash can in each individual tickets. Any idea how I could do that?

How to add percentile to a report

This should be a very simple question to answer. For a particular question or variable, how do I add the participants percentile to a report? For example, I responded 5.0 on a scale of 0-10 for this item, I fall within the X percentile of respondents to this question. Thank you.

Offline app - reviewing saved responses

One of the gripes I have with the offline app is that it does not allow review of saved responses. If a user is submitting many multiple responses and has forgotten which ones they have entered and need to double-check that they entered something correctly, they are in the dark essentially as to what they have saved until they are able to upload the responses to the server. Since users currently have the ability to review responses 'in progress' it doesn't seem like it would be difficult to review responses saved. This would be a useful feature to add (to put it lightly).

Combine two questions to create a column in crosstabs

Hi! I am trying to combine two different demographic questions, such as "title" and "function" to create 1 column in crosstabs. For example, I want anyone who said they were a CEO or worked in general management to be combined into one. Does anyone know an easy way to do this? Thanks!

Email triggers - artifacts in email showing up

Has anyone ever had the following issue: A customer has an email trigger set for a survey that gathers a good bit of ED. The trigger itself is very straightforward, no fancy logic - just a simple email sending the survey response to the person that needs to see it. They are getting the following highlighted artifacts in their email when they receive it: ! I checked the email trigger for her and it looks completely fine. Any thoughts on what might be causing this info to dump into the email? I've never seen this before, but don't have a lot of personal experience (I'm a BA) with the email triggers since I don't have my own surveys that require them. Thanks, Gurus!

Can an email trigger table be conditional?

I have a survey with quite a few questions that may not apply depending on the situation. I have an email trigger to pull in all responses. Is there a way to code the table to display only those questions containing a specific response? Such as display only if response=No??? Thanks!

How do I get matrix table question to arrange vertically?

Several times, on accident, I've had one or two matrix table questions arrange the choices vertically instead of horizontally. It doesn't do it for all questions but I much prefer the way it looks, especially if my scale points have rather wordy text. I've spent a long time comparing the questions that Qualtrics arranged vertically with the unchanged matrix questions in the same survey, and I can't find a rhyme or reason. All questions have the same validation, stipulations, etc. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! Ps. This is on the desktop survey view that I am finding this anomaly, not mobile displayed questions - though all my questions are "checked" Mobile Friendly.

Is there an easier and less manual way to recode categorical variables into numerical variables?

I tried to use the toggle functionality in the variable settings menu to change categorical scales into numerical scales in Stats IQ for running analysis. For some reason, it lets me toggle between the two, but in practice it does not work. When I try to run a regression analysis on those numerical variables it errors out. The only way for me to currently fix this is to create an entirely new clean variable where I recode the variable into numerical values. This wouldn't be a pain on a smaller survey, but I am trying to do this on a larger relationship survey that has several variables which need recoded. Anyone find a more efficient way to do this?

Can i ask yes/no question at Q5 but instruct skip or branch logic to act after Q18

I want to ask a yes/no question at Q5 but do not want the skip or branch logic to act until after question 18. Is this possible or does the skip need to implement immediately from Q5. My thoughts are we need some embedded data at Q 18 (Next) to take respondent down the correct branch path. i.e. if yes at Q5 then ... If No at Q5 then....

Using Javascript to punch into another question

Hello This is probably a very basic question, but I've been trying for ages and can't get it to work. I'm trying to copy the answers from Multi question QID73 into duplicate question QID76 (where this javascript is stored), but it's not working. It does seem to work if I select one answer, which leads me to think I need to use different syntax for a multi question? I've tried it without the variable, and without the loop, but nothing works.
