What is the custom CSS code to bold the questions and keep the options regular?

Hello,I am currently designing a survey and I was wondering if someone could help me with the custom code to bold all the questions while not bolding the options to those questions on a survey. I also want to keep the font size and colour uniform.Since I am using a theme for my organization, I am unable to use the options under style in look and feel tab and need a custom code.I want it to appear like thisWhat is your opinion on xxx? How to "Pipe" a Text Entry Response Randomly Selected from All Participant's Responses

Hi Everyone,I have a Text Entry question which all participants will fill out. I am trying to create a new question later in the same survey (or a different survey if necessary) which will randomly "pipe" a randomly selected response from all other participants' answers to the text entry question - i.e., I would like the new question to have the possibility of including all answers except the participant's own response.I am aware that piping is unable to do this, but I am unaware of how one would do this with Embed Data or otherwise.Thank you!

Is there a way to set an embedded data field to the Survey Send Date?

I want to send a weekly survey to our student interns to enter their work time for the previous week. I originally set up an embedded data field, WeekStartDate as ${date://OtherDate/m%2Fd%2FY/-1 week}. However, if instead of filling out the survey on Monday when I send it, they fill it out on Tuesday, they get the previous Tuesday (and I want Monday). Does anyone know the variable for survey send date that I could use in the field -1 week? Thanks.

Hide Specific Cells in a Matrix Constant Sum Question

Hi,I want to hide certain cells in a series of constant sum matrix tables. I have looked at other threads posted on the community and I am using the below code to hide the cells that I don't want the respondent to answer -Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){$('QR~QID10~1~4').up('td').childElements().invoke('hide');$('QR~QID10~2~4').up('td').childElements().invoke('hide'); });When I preview the question the cells are hidden as I planned but when I preview the full survey, the javascript doesn't appear to work. Looking at the developer console on Chrome I have a lot of errors on the page which I have attached. error text.txtIs this an error with my code or something else? It is strange that it works when previewing the question but not during the full preview. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to hide the next button (to prevent interviewee from moving on) under circumstances?

Is there a way to hide the next button (to prevent interviewee from moving on) under circumstances?Basically I would want interviewee to answer certain questions in a specific way to move onto the next questions. I have tried using Force Response, but not all the questions have to necessarily be answered. I have used custom validation but I think I would like to try using Javascript to hide the next button if possible. Is this possible?

Finding maximum values of embedded data

Hello!I have a set of embedded data values: A, B, C, D, EEach value is a math equation that outputs a number based on multiplying recode values of questions in the surveyA,B, C, D, and E each have the option of being 1, 2 ,3 4, 5 or 6. What I would like to do is have a 6th embedded data value that is the maximum value for A, B, C, D, Efor example ifA=4B=1C=0D=5E=5The final value would be 5.Is there an easy way to do this with embedded data?Thanks!

Display current time in ticket

Hi braintrust!I'd like to be able to put the current time into a ticket in Qualtrics, not the time when a survey was taken, or when a ticket was generated, but the actual time right now. My situation is that I have centralized operations in one place, but they work 24/7 and support worldwide business. So when I have a ticket generated, it could be from anywhere in the world. What I'd like to do is for the agent who first opens the ticket and does their research, to be able to select what time zone the person is in, then it shows their local time. That way we're not trying to contact them in the middle of the night, and the agents don't have to keep converting time zones in their head. And when anyone opens a ticket, it should just refresh and show what the current time is.Thanks for any help!

How to display text next to the Table of Contents (hamburger) icon?

Has anyone added text next to the Table of Contents (hamburger) icon? Via jQuery, I can select the div#TocIcon, but I cannot seem to add in text immediately following the icon (e.g. Main Menu).

How to randomly select one of the answer choices selected?

I want to randomly select one of the answer options from a multiple choice question (if a respondent selects > 1 option) and include it in the next question. e.g. in Q1, I ask them to select their preferred company and if Pepsi and Coke are selected, next question should randomly select one of the two and ask 'when did you last purchase a Pepsi (say) product'. I have followed the steps detailed here, but don't know which java script to use to hide the question: https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/716/can-i-randomly-select-one-of-a-respondents-answers-for-use-in-a-follow-up-question. Can anyone help me with this? or if there is an alternative solution?

Personal survey link management

I am building a diagnostic survey that is only sent to one individual at a time, as they are requested. With the CRM platform we're using, seemingly the best way to manage this is to simply generate a link to an individual survey one at a time in Qualtrics, and include this in a templatized email via the CRM system using the workflow we've set up. Is there a good way to do this with Qualtrics without having to assign personal links to specific contacts? What I really want is to just be able to generate a personal link with an ID number (the code included in the URL itself would be fine), and attach that ID number to a real person stored in a system outside Qualtrics. Possible? What settings would I choose?Thanks./mike

How to combine a random draw, pipe a decision, play a lottery and save the outcome?

Hey everyone!I will try it again, since I did not succeed so far and I think my previous discussion (https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/10800/how-to-randomly-draw-one-of-the-rows-in-a-biploar-matrix-and-display-the-choice-of-the-respondent#latest) was misplaced. So, I have a lottery with 10 different decision situations in which subject chose between A and B, see belowIn a separate question, I would like to i) announce which of the 10 decision situations (basically rows in a bipolar matrix) has been randomly chosen (1-10)ii) recall the choice they made in that particular decision situation (A or B) andiii) play the lottery of that particular choice (depends on i) and ii): e.g. if decision situation 7 was drawn and the participant chose A, the lottery we are playing is 70% chance of lets say a blue ball and 30% chance of a red ball)iv) announce the amount of money subjects won (eventually calculations needed, if e.g. only 50% of lottery prize is actually payed out)v) IMPORT

Add row dynamically in Side By Side table

Hi,I am using Side by side table to collect user activity, I like to include "Add Activity" button option after 4th row. So user could click Add activity button and add rows dynamically based on how many activities user has performed.I looked at https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/3027/side-by-side-matrix-with-10-rows-can-i-show-rows-only-on-demand-using-a-button, this gives option to show/hide existing rows in the side by side matrix. Is there any way to add rows using javascript? Thanks!

Set question time in MS

Hi,I am trying to set an exact time for a question in MS. I've gone through a lot of scripts, both on this forum and on the web, and didn't find anything that suited me. I've seen scripts where you can set time in MS, But not one that incorporate both auto advance and exact time setting.Also, if anyone knows I'd like to know how long in MS the "page break" is.I am appreciate any help.

Align pictures at the top of multiple choice boxes.

Hi, I have four multiple choice boxes (Position Horizontal). Each multiple choice box consist of two piped "texts" (on the top a picture and below that a text). However, the some texts are short and some longer. If the text is long the picture appears on the top of the box. If the text is short the picture appears not directly at the top.Is it possible to align all pictures vertically at the top of the box? Force color of selected multiple choice question

Hi there!I like the formatting of the MC questions better than forms and so am using a text entry option with a MC question.However, I would like to keep the color of the checked MC items grey instead of changing to my alternate color. Is there a way using jQuery to stop the color from changing when a choice is selected? This would only be for a few questions, do don't want to use CSS style sheet.Thanks!

How do I hide next button for specific questions on same page? Show when answer is selected only

Hello,I found code to hide the next button for the entire page but I need to hide the next button on specific questions that are on the same page and ONLY display the next button when user selects a specific answer choice (A,B,C, or D). For example, if user selects "yes this answered my question", then no next button, but if user selects "I need to open a case" I need the next button to appear so they can advance to the next page and submit a case.Thanks so much!!

Embedded Data Randomly Not Set by JavaScript

Hello,I have a survey where a respondent is to pick from a list of options in a multiple-choice dropdown list. I have JavaScript behind this question that sets some embedded data fields to various values based on the selection. The JavaScript is in the .addOnUnload area. Basically, it's a variable list, plus the code to set the embedded data:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData("ApproverEmail", list[jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" select").val()]);That's done a few times for different data fields. This is all working quite well most of the time, but sometimes the embedded data fields are not set even though the respondent finishes the survey. I do have Force Response on the question. Qualtrics Support is not aware of any issues with JS on questions and recommended that I ask here. Is there something obvious I have done wrong? Is the JavaScript in the right place?

Is it possible to superimpose text or an image onto another image?

I am new to Qualtrics and am building an experiment where participants will view several statements that are to be superimposed on different background images. I've yet to figure out how to superimpose text onto a background image. I tried uploading the text as a jpeg, but I was not able to superimpose that onto a background image either. I have considered superimposing the statements and backgrounds elsewhere, saving them as separate images, and then uploading those to my survey. However, to do so would be very tedious and likely inefficient since I have 40 statements and 20 background images and I hope to randomize (or counterbalance in some way) the statement/background pairings. I do not have any coding experience, but I am willing to learn if necessary. I apologize if this is an ignorant question. Any help is appreciated.

Highlight row for the invalid answer

Hi,Is there any way to highlight the row where the respondent have entered the invalid value or is there any way we can highlight the row where answer is missing in the matrix question.For example, I have matrix question with text entry and I want to highlight the row where I have entered the invalid value in it. In the below example,I have entered the invalid value for the second option and want to highlight that row, I need this because in my matrix question there are no of statements with columns and want to highlight the respected row with invalid answer or not answered.Any help would be appreciated.

Capital letter validation with Regix

Good morning, first I did some searching in the forums and web for this but could only find answers pointing to Regex for my question. I already have the correct code for what I want to do, force capital letters and allow white space and or hyphens: ^[A-Z\\s\\-]*$ I have plugged it into Regex testing sites and it works perfectly, allowing only caps, spaces, and hyphens. However, when I put it into custom validation field in Qualtrics and test the question it passes with any letter entered in that field and does not seem to recognize my forced caps option...What am I missing? Thanks so much for your help.

Tokenization/De-identify Respondents' Emails - Server-side vs Client-side

Hi, I have a quick questions about how to tokenize/de-identify emails that respondents enter in my survey.As a part of a multi-survey project, I need to create a survey that asks for a respondent's email and then tokenize it using a one-way function where the email will be converted to a random token in the first entry, and then in follow-up surveys, anytime the same email is entered, the same token is created (so I can link all different responses from the same person).I already have built the tokenization function. However, I am unsure how to implement it in Qualtrics so that it runs on the server-side rather than on the client-side. Is that possible?Thanks
