Custom Code

Hi, I have multiple fonts files saved in the Library. On a survey I’m using I would like to add in the ‘Look & Feel’ external CSS a code that will override ONLY IN SOME LANGUAGES the default font and will choose the font from my library (the code I guess will contain a URL). Anyone ever done that? (@vgayraud I’m tagging you here, as it seems you have lot’s of knowledge when it comes to these tricks… and you just saved my life in another post)

We have been using the JS below directly within a form-type question to 1) add the "$" before each of the input fields and 2) validate so that only numerical values are entered and they are converted to display commas to the respondent when it is 1,00+ (our respondents have values in the millions +).We have this all working properly; however, I would like to run calculations with these values after a page break within a text/graphic question type. In order to do so for any values for 1,000+ , I'd have to convert from a string to a numerical value to allow the Qualtrics calculation to work. Is the conversion something that I could add to the Unload portion of the JS on the same question just below this script? Forgive me, I'm still quite the beginner with JS and I also couldn't find a similar existing question in my search.Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){ /*Place Your JavaScript Here*/ // This code adds # prefix before textbox var questionId = this.questionId; var prefix = "

Does anyone know the steps to embed a survey question from Qualtrics into an external webpage please?Use case: Collecting in-the-moment NPS for employee health and wellbeing resources.

I am setting up a study in which participants first go through 40 items that are presented one by one, preferably in a random order, and choose for each item whether they want to study it or be tested on it in a later phase. I've implemented this using a loop and merge block. Then I want participants to go through the same 40 items again one by one, preferably in a random order, and either see the item again for study or get tested on the item (i.e., text entry question) - based on their earlier choice for that item. I've tried to implement this phase using a different loop and merge block but I cannot see a way to use display logic (in order to determine whether the item would be studied or get tested) based on participants' choice in the earlier loop and merge block. I also tried to implement both phases in one loop and merge block, but I cannot see a way to make it loop through some questions first for all the items and then to loop through other questions for all the items. Any

Hi EveryoneHope you're well.If I asked someone to paste a URL into a text field, and I wanted to also save the last part of the URL into my survey results as a new data field (which would always be "/a number"), how would I do this?Thanks :)

Hi All, I have a matrix question that has 9 response options (it's an established scale, so I don't want to monkey with this). When I try to display it, even if the window is sized large enough, the matrix question gets clipped and requires the use of a horizontal scroll bar to see the last several options: ! Is there some CSS (or something else) that I can use to make this question (only) use the full width of the window? Thanks!

Can you someone help me set this up? I’m trying to make this nps question 2 with selected brand at question 1. If you pick several options for question 1, only up to 3 can be shown at question2. If you choose BRAND A, make sure it's given priority for display. question1 I’d appreciate any help, thanks!

I would have thought this would be a common question as hidden questions are common in other platforms in driving a survey. However, I couldn’t find a post on this so just in case anyone wants to know how to do it in Javascript. Would be useful to know how it is done in Qualtrics without Javascript.     const QB = "${q://QID9/SelectedChoicesRecode}"; //read answers from multiple response question    var result = QB.split(', ');  // convert the string answers into an array where the comma and space is the delimiter eg. “1, 2” into [“1”,”2”]        if (result.includes("1")) //search in the array for code 1    {                          //check the first box in a multiple response                jQuery('input[type="checkbox"]').eq(0).prop('checked',true);            }    if (result.includes("2")) ) //search in the array for code 2    {                          //check the second box in a multiple response                jQuery('input[type="checkbox"]').eq(1).prop('checked',true);        }

Hi, How can I make a heading for each section of the survey? Currently, I only know to use a heading in the survey flow, which shows up on all pages of the survey. But I want to have a different heading for each section of the survey to display for the user. For example, for a teacher application, it shows these titles for two sections of the application: “Demographic information of your class”, “your past experience” etc.

My Constant Sum Question (Vertical) is asking for components of annual income. An acceptable answer in any of the boxes might be 2000000 (2 million).These tiny little answer boxes have space for about 4 digits, and if you type more, you cannot see what you are typing.Is there any way to make them a little wider?Thanks.SF

Hello, I am providing some sample products for my customers to taste. The customers and each will select up to 5 and will get the survey to rate them.I retrieve those products through a webservice which then feeds the embedded data (product name). I set the embedded data in the begining of the survey flow with product names as Product_Name1, Product_Name2 etc.Then I map those embedded data from the webservice as below: (url is empty for now, I will do the testing later) The questions will be the same for each product so I will use Loop&Merge functionality. However, when I set the loop&merge based on the embedded data and as the customer might choose less than 5 products, I don’t know how to stop loop&merge if the embedded data turns empty. For example, if the customer chooses 3 products, Product_Name4 and Product_Name5 will be empty and I want to stop the loop after the 3rd time. Is there any way to set a condition in the survey flow to stop when the embedded data is em

Hi,I wonder if there is a way to adjust the space between scale points so they all evenly spaced? Right now, it seems scale points with longer text will have a larger space in between (see below). Thank you in advance for your help!

I’m using constant sum choices for a funding distribution task. Participants are shown 7 statements, and they have a maximum of $50,000 to allocate across the 7 statements. I’ve set a range requirement of 0 to 50000, yet participants are still able to type values above 50000 in the constant sum boxes (which I’d like to avoid). The question has a validation attached such that the page can’t be advanced if the total is not equal to 50000, but I would like to set something up so that participants aren’t able to give values above 50000 in the first place. Is there a way to do this (i.e., actually enforce the range requirement) with custom code? Thank you so much in advance!

// Get the birthdate input  var birthdateInput = this.getQuestionInput('Q4'); // Replace 'Q4' with the actual Question ID of your birthdate question     // Calculate the age  var today = new Date();  var birthdate = new Date(birthdateInput);  var age = today.getFullYear() - birthdate.getFullYear();  var m = today.getMonth() - birthdate.getMonth();  if (m < 0 || (m === 0 && today.getDate() < birthdate.getDate())) {    age--;  }     // Output the age  console.log(age); // You can replace 'console.log' with any other method of outputting the age, such as displaying it on the page or storing it in a hidden question});

Hello Everyone, I am trying to pull/fetch data (Full Name & Email) of my survey's applicants in a custom-made question(attached PNG file), which I have developed using html, css, and javascript on the Qualtrics platform.In this question, I let the users type some characters of either their full name or their email and I autofill/autocomplete for them the rest information of the field that they edit as well as the corresponding value of the other field. For the moment, I have initialized a variable called 'data', where I provide-hardcode the parameters/values for these two fields (Full name and Email) and based on these values I do the auto-completion for the users (For more information check the code in the attached file).Ideally, I am looking for a solution/suggestion from you, on how I can pull/fetch the needed information(Full name and email of the users) from an (external) source ( e.g. Excel-CSV file, Qualtrics contact list, embedded data field, etc.) to my custom "Autocomplet

Hi There, First time poster here! I found this post really helpful in trying to limit the number of choices selected in a question at the point of clicking rather than the respondent clicks submit only to be met with lots of annoying error messages (if you simply use the validation options). However, my survey has several questions where I want to limit the number of choices and when i pasted in the Javascript code into multiple questions, it impacts the other questions so that once you’ve selected a few choices in one question, it only lets you select one choice in other questions where you are allowed to select up to 3! Please could someone help me with how to fix this so that it works discretely for each question? Thanks so much!

Hi EveryoneCan someone help me with the code to change the copy, colour, font size of this?Thanks :)

Hi everyone,is there a way to edit the signature box to say “initial here” instead of “sign here”? I was hoping to use the signature box to get initials for opting in and opting out for a consent form.

I want to show dynamic QR code at end of survey, how can I do that? QR code link is present as embedded data.

Hi all, I’m using a constant sum slider for a funding distribution task. I’d like to show the slider values in $USD format — so the constant sum slider would range from $0 to $50,000, for example. Does anyone know if this can be done using Javascript or CSS? My question is very similar to this one, but I can’t figure out how to adapt the code for a constant sum slider: Many thanks!

Hello, I have been attempting to remove the 13 characters on the left of an EmbeddedData field. I have found some resources and a somewhat similar example, but have not been having luck. For this survey we wanted two links per potential respondent, with different features for our call team and the email/web version, so we upload them twice. Once with their email as written and once with PHONE.VERSION. in front of it. The issue is we want to pipe in their email address at the end so our call staff sees that and can confirm, without PHONE.VERSION in front of it. What I am seeking to do is have ${e://Field/RecipientEmail} display as their email without “PHONE.VERSION” -- essentially removing the first 13 characters, if the embedded data field PhoneFlag=1. Here is the javascript I have been trying:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function() { // Get the value of PhoneFlag var phoneFlagValue = "${e://Field/PhoneFlag}"; // Check if PhoneFlag equals 1 if (phoneFlagValue === "1")

I tried the Javascripts but they do not work now. Anyone knows how I can do this? Thanks!

I am looking to control how many attempts one has to listen to an embedded media file (audio). Can anyone help with coding? Qualtrics support is not trained in this area. This is for a music research project. Thanks so much!

Hi, I can't figure out how to add an exit/leave survey button that shows on every page after the third question.I also need to add flow logic so that when clicked it takes them to the right debrief message (based on condition assigned to in question 3)Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello,Does any one have a code to create a simple reaction time test in Qualtrics? Something like press on a key or a button when a certain text appears or when a box changes from colour. Thank you in advance. With kind regards, Iris Hagoort
