Hi, I am creating a survey via the API and need to create some display logic for it as well, is it possible?

On the satisfaction survey that is sent after using Qualtrics's support chat, there is a question with the options very dissatisfied to very satisfied where when you click on a response, the option you clicked turns either red or green according to the response (i.e. red if "disagree", green if "agree", grey if "neutral"). I'd really like to use this feature in a survey of mine. I contacted Qualtrics to ask if this was possible and they said it was custom code that they used and that they can't share it with me. They recommended I search Qualtrics community or post the question myself. So here's my question: Is this possible? If so, what is the custom code? I'm not familiar with coding yet. 😀 Here are a couple screenshots of the Qualtrics satisfaction surveys I received after using Qualtrics Support Chat showing what I am looking to achieve. (I would like it to be red, grey, or green. One example has blue, so just pretend that is green. 😀 ) !

Hi there, I've coded a decision-making task in javascript and added in the javascript session in quatrics. The javascript code runs perfectly when I select "view block" option or "preview". However, it stops at the end of the script. A blank page is showed instead of "end preview" (if run using "view block" ) or the button to go to the next block (if run with "preview"). It seems qualtrics is not able to proceed to the next page. Even when I add "end survive" after the block, the blank page is still there. I have tried to simulate click on Qualtrics next button using qualtrics JS API. However, none of the solutions I have tried seems to work (function(){qthis.clickNextButton();}).delay(5); jQuery("#NextButton").click() ; setTimeout(function () {jQuery('#NextButton').click();},2000) and so on..). Running on Onload function or on OnReady function don't change anything. Neither hiding the button and showing that again in the end. Any help is really appreciated. I have attached the scrip

Hi I have 50 questions of type A and 20 questions of type B. Now I would like to randomly show participants 10 questions; 8 questions of type A and 2 questions of type B. I know how to randomly show 8 type A out of 50 and then 2 type B out of 20 but is there a way that the ordering of type A and type B questions is random? Thanks a lot Debirah

Hello, I am implementing sliders with some questions in Qualtrics and I need to show the value of the custom start position. However, I need to do it in a very specific way: a) Ideally, I need to show (a.1) the value of the custom start position inside the slider thumb (a.2) preceded by “£” in one case and followed by “min” in another? Or b) A less suitable solution would be to show (b.1) the value of the custom start position inside the slider tooltip and (b.2) have the tooltip always displayed (no hide the tooltip at any time) and (b.3) preceded by “£” or followed by “min”. Moreover, I would like to know how I can increase the size or modify the font within the slider thumb or the slider tooltip? Thank you very much. I would appreciate your help.

I am looking to use a graphic slider to ask participants where they think they stand on a ladder relative to their community members. On Qualtrics, there are only 'Horizontal Bars', 'Disks', and 'Building Blocks' as the image options. I want to replace the visual with a custom image of mine (a ladder). Is it possible to change the graphics with styling or java, if so has anyone done it and can they share their code? Please see below the image for reference ! Thanks, T

Hi all, we have the following problem: In our survey, participants complete 2 x 10 blocks. Each time, we randomly draw 10 blocks from a pool of 25 blocks. We would like to have a history table that documents participant performance over time. Thus, in the second block of the first period, we'd like some kind of table that shows the specific variables from the first block. In the 9th block, we'd have a table with 8 columns for the first 8 rounds. Etc. Is there a way to access/show an embedded data field conditional on when its block has been drawn by the randomizer? Hello All, I currently have a long matrix question. I have repeated the headers for each item, but would also like to repeat the anchor labels (e.g. "not important at all" and "extremely important" - see photo for example). I would like to repeat the labels every 5 questions, or some quantity that I can specify. Does anyone have a javascript solution to achieve this? Thanks in advance!!

Dear all, I am currently working on a survey where the particpant needs to fill out a text entry question (essay question). In order to control for the words written, I would like to have a word count, which is NOT shown to the participant but gives me the possibility to rule out any outliers in the analysis. Hi All, We are currently working out how best to export the Qualtrics data and import it into our data warehouse to allow further analysis. The exporting of responses is well documented via API but we've come across a number of things that don't seem possible. One area is it doesn't seem possible to understand the flow of the survey and the order in which the questions were answered. We're trying to capture the routing of the survey aswell as the survey questions and the response information and this is particularly important when you are using a non linear survey such as a table of contents. Some ways to get round this include: -Tag each question with its parent question by QID but this would be very manual and prone to error if the survey is changed. -Time each question so that you can then work out the chronological order and from that understand the routing - but similarly to the Tag option, this might not work so well if a participant goes back to a question to change it. -Wo

Hello, I am currently configuring Qualtrics survey integration with SAP Marketing Cloud using a web service task (I am not sure if this is the correct approach). There are help documents on what is required to set up on the SAP side and I have completed that but nothing about what is required from a Qualtrics perspective in terms of configuration of the survey to send to marketing or what data is needed to be sent. Can you let me know if there are any guides available or point me in the right direction as to the set up in Qualtrics required to send the correct data when a survey response is completed? As my question illustrates, I am a RegEx beginner. I am trying to set up a survey alert that triggers based on the presence of an exact text string, not the individual words. So in other words 'lower prices' but not just 'lower' or just 'prices'. Seems straight forward but my stab using the syntax below does not work. Hi, I'm a newbie to Qualtrics. Please assume the following situation 1. In Qid1, subject report some value x 2. In Qid2, subject reports through slider which has a value [0,x] Could someone help me out how to code this up? Any kind of sample code is really appreciated.

We are working on a project for suicide prevention. One of the asks is to have a particular response option trigger a phone call to a suicide prevention agency. We've found how to embed a phone number in a link so if the link is selected it prompts me to make the call, but only if I'm answering by scanning a QR code. We've also tried using the redirect to URL option in the custom end of survey section within the survey flow. Neither is working how we expect. I am sure we are missing something. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is there html code (or some other code) we can use to get this closer to what we want?

Hello! I have three separate questions I am hoping this community will be able to help me figure out the correct custom code for: 1) Is there a simple JS line of code that I can use to center text / graphic question types? 2) We are hoping to be able to use an image as a background for one question (not the whole survey). I've seen some similar questions already posted, but they require the image URL. I have uploaded the image I want to use for a question block background, but I cannot figure out where to find the URL for this image. 3) For other questions, I am trying to make the background a solid color, and the text white. Does anyone know the code to do this as well? Thank you all in advance! Love this community.

Hi I would like to edit the generic error message for a missed response to a question. I need to have it in Thai, not English. (I have not used the translate option originally to translate an English survey, rather have written the survey in Thai). I have seen options online to do this but they require using the Custom Validation dialog and editing each response. Is there a means of editing via javascript for each question to do this more efficiently? Thanks Paul

I am using the API to export survey results, and I want the choice text. This works for some of the questions, and I see the choice text (and compared to an export where the value is not set/False, it is definitely doing something). However, for many other questions, the numeric value is still showing. I have looked at the question types in case it has something to do with that, and the types range through the expected - Text, Matrix, MCSA, MCMA, etc... Is there a reason why the choice text would not be exported?

I'm trying to set up a survey with a relatively complex logic: we ask users to respond to 9 questions, corresponding to 9 themes (this is Section A). Depending on their answers I'd like to present a block of deep-dive questions, a different block per theme (this is Section B ). Instead of presenting all 9, I'd like to determine which deep-dive questions the person is presented with, using three criteria: 1. I'd like to present the block of deep-dive questions that so far has had fewest responses (across participants); if there's a tie, randomly select one 2. I'd like to present the block of deep-dive questions of the theme that this participant rated lowest in our first question (Section A); if there's a tie, randomly select one 3. I'd like to offer them the choice to select a third theme, obviously only presenting the remaining available options (i.e., the 9 themes minus the 2 themes selected by criteria 1 & 2). I want to report at the url level so need to remove the query strings that are coming in. Any way to do this other than bucketing? With bucketing, I'd have to go in daily to see if I need to add strings to the group. Example below. www.mysite.com?channel=paid&test=xyz www.mysite.com?campaign=qualtrics&source=google Want both above url's captured under www.mysite.com

Is there anyway to show a group title in a question if there aren't any answers choices assigned to the group (i.e. not have it autohide)?

Our organization currently uses Qualtrics' URL shorterner. When embedded into a SMS invite, it looks something like this: "Hi! Thanks for calling us. We’d love to hear your feedback about your experience with ORGANIZATION NAME. Click here to answer a quick survey: https://ql.tc/b/aaaa” My understanding is that we can't customize the URL shorterner to include our organization prefixes. Our concern that customers who see this may perceive this as spam and may deter them from clicking on the link all together. Any best practices on how you've drafted your SMS invite?
