We have been using a Qualtrics survey to create a student portal of surveys. When a student receives the portal link from the Qualtrics mailer, they are able to see one Qualtrics page (that does not have a submit button) that contains several personal links to different surveys that they need to complete. We use personal links because there is a lot of logic based on embedded data from our student database. Each personal link (and survey description of that link) appears as piped text as a separate text question but all appear on a single portal page. What we would like to do is somehow force the students to access the survey links in the order they appear on the page. Right now they are free to click on them in any order. I need help with finding a way to either 1) lock the survey links until the student has engaged in the previous survey link either using validation with a gentle message or maybe use the API to achieve this OR 2) somehow gray out or make it apparent that the previou

Hello, after trying and googling for 2 days, we don't know where the problem is. I am trying to align the text within those boxes with the bullet points. I have tried vertical-align, adjusting padding, several div codes, but I seem not to get it to work. We're also trying to move the text a little to the right and have it left aligned, so it looks a bit cleaner. Any suggestions on how to do that? Attached is a screenshot, maybe someone is hella good at these things and could help us out. Your help is much appreciated! !

HI, I have a question in a survey which asks Respondent age in the plain text box. Afterward, i need to assign the age in different age groups like 13-17 years old 18-24 years old 25- 35 years old 36 or above. Is this possible with standard qualtircs platform as i am not well versed in Jave scripts.

Hi, I am trying to incorporate a custom build code to my qualtrics survey (https://docs.mathjax.org/en/latest/start.html) so that I can type display math elements nicely. I put it in the header of look and feel as well head of html in the questions. It works for the first loop of loop and merge but it doesn't work for the rest. The code also works if I refresh the page when I am taking the survey. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hi there, as part of my research project I need to estimate Willingness to pay and Willingness to accept. A common method is the Becker‐DeGroot‐Marschak (BDM) Mechanim. I listed the following fields to be displayed in the auto email response after the completions of the survey. ! Within the actual survey, the participant enters data only where applicable. Thus, some of the fields will be empty. Below is the auto email response based on the above setup – you will notice that there are many gaps. ! Hello, I have a requirement wherein a professor will enter the email id of his 40 students in a survey and once submitting that survey, an another survey about the dean would be sent out to those 40 students. I have an Excel file setup with two columns. Column A, countries, Column B, their associated demonyms, 1 per 1. What I want to do is ask questions about which country a person is born in, then their current country of residence, citizenship, etc. On a subsequent question, I would like to ask them for their agreement on a Likert scale ("I am [demonym]"). I want to show the demonym associated with each of the countries the respondent chooses. For example, if someone says they were born in Mexico but currently live in the US and are an American citizen, I want to ask them in a Matrix style question "I am [Mexican]" and "I am [American]." I know how to do this via display logic: I would say "Display Mexican if Mexico is selected for place of birth, place of current residence, or place of citizenship," and I would do the same for "American." The problem is, I have over 190 countries so this is a lot of display logic to add for each demonym response choice. How can I link the countries to th

Hello, I am new to Qualtrics, with little to no experience with JavaScript.What I am trying to implement is, essentially, several surveys within a single survey. Let me explain: - each participant that opens up the survey is a team lead. Upon opening the survey, he is to be shown a dashboard with a list of names of his team members - next to each displayed team member there is a link to open another survey - basically each team lead needs to fill out a standard survey for each of his team members - ideally, there should be an indication next to each displayed team member name whether the team lead has completed the corresponding survey or not Does anyone have experience with this and guide me through the steps to implement such a tracker? Hello! I haven't been able to find an answer to this issue as of yet so I appreciate any assistance. I'm attempting to fix my matrix table question so that there is no horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the question to show both the statement and the options. I've input code that widens the style for everything but these matrix questions and I was wondering if there's some further code needed for matrix tables or anything else that I can use to fix this issue. I am creating a survey that is based on multiple choice questions. The first block in the survey contains the questions and based on what the user selects (user can select only one option), a succeeding block will contain specific statements from the Unselected Choices, e.g. if the user selects options a from q1, the succeeding block can contain option c from q1 and similarly for all other questions. Currently I am using Display Logic but since there are 16 questions and each have 6 options, Display Logic will not be feasible. Since I am a beginner at JS, I was wondering if this logic could be implemented with JS and how?

I am building a survey that needs to go from Qualtrics to an Inquisit Web task, but I am having issues with the "group ID" and "subject ID" transferring from Qualtrics to Inquisit. My experiment is made of 3 randomized conditions. First the subject is assigned for one of these conditions (images) on qualtrics and afterward, the same condition(image) has to appear on Inquisit. Therefore, I created 3 different blocks (one per condition), one branch (if that image, or the other, or the other) and one embedded data naming three groups id = piped text from the condition' question. Hey there! I'm trying to build an app that uses the Qualtrics API, using the OAuth2 authorization code grant type for authentication. I successfully request the authorization code, so I get to the page where the user is prompted to enter their Qualtrics login. Upon entering login credentials, though, I get the following error printed in the browser: `{"message":"Error - couldn't get consent request details for 4b1f0b61-0b54-4c87-8347-088f63bb45f3","requestId":"4c4529f0-9d26-11e9-a427-41709f29a65e"}` The URL where this is displayed is: `https://ca1.qualtrics.com/consent-app/oauth2/consent?consent=4b1f0b61-0b54-4c87-8347-088f63bb45f3` Also, I have assured that I am requesting an auth code from the same datacenter where my client is registered, and that the user under which my client is registered has API access, so these can't be the issues. Hi, Just wondering if it's possible to redirect out of the survey to an external site and then back in to continue on? I'm assuming the return url could be passed as a parameter to facilitate return after processing. I appreciate that I could use an iframe but I want to present my client with an alternative solution if possible. Thank you!

I'm trying to add some JS at a specific question from an external site. I'm doing this in the Question JS under the addOnReady event using the below: jQuery.getScript("https://xxxxxxxx.yyyyyyyyy.net/scripted.php?p=MFVi8x5NKt39BqEw&r=${e://Field/ResponseID}&f=${q://QID4/SelectedChoicesRecode}&fl=${q://QID10/SelectedChoicesRecode}&d=&c=&v1=&v2=&v3=&t="); The url is a PHP page with piped parameters which (I know) returns valid JS. The issue is that this results in a Cross-Origin Read Blocking (CORB) response and is blocked. Is there another way I can add this script to my page? Thanks!

I have a slider question on which I'd like respondents to choose from the quarter hour. I have the question configured to meet my needs, but I would like the slider to only display integers for the grid marks. Right now, the grid is illegible due to the number of grid marks. I have found the code to only show integers and the halves (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5) but I would prefer to only show the whole numbers.

Hi all, I am reaching out to find out if there are any clever ways that one can cause a survey to "auto-save" or even manually save WITHOUT changing the page. Often times our end users will be writing long answers (especially to the certain text essay questions) and I was wondering if any JS or clever question combinations could help with this problem. I have found that if I refresh the page it sends off a .saveProgress method via network traffic, however, I also noticed that it doesn't record in data and analysis at that point, but the saves are persistent. Please note we are not using anonymous links, so this only pertains to the types of surveys distributed through the email distribution tab in a survey. Best regards, Michael

Hi there, I am trying to create a question with multiple answers depending on the previous answer selected. I have created a drill-down question but I would like the last question to only be displayed if certain answers were selected previously. Here is a screenshot of the question with all answers selected: ! And this is a screenshot where the third answer should be hidden as it was not a relevant choice. ! How do I hide that last answer? I do believe that a solution can be worked out using Javascript, however I am not familiar with this language and cannot work out how to do it. Could someone please point me in the right direction?
