I am trying to run an extension locally using xmt develop extension, but the connection to localhost is refused, so the plugin is never displayed. I verified that I have added the XMT=1 query parameter, done a hard refresh, and that my browser (Edge) is configured to allow insecure content for my Qualtrics brand domain.This is my first time doing xmt develop extension, in the past the documentation used to say something like xmt run or xmt start I believe. Do you have any troubleshooting suggestions?  

Hello!I am trying to create a highlight question with the text coming from the displayed choice of a previous question. I have learned a lot from the community and figured out the basic logic is to first make a placeholder in the highlight text and then replace it with the piped text. But I have no previous experience with javascript and just tried to make some code that could be totally wrong (not working).I was wondering if there is anyone who could help me with it. Hello, I'm new here, so forgive me if I'm asking a completely obvious question. I have a survey that I'd like to try and make as secure as possible. In addition to all the, for lack of a better word, clickable options in the survey platform - I'm also intrigued by the idea of adding a honeypot field for bots. Hi all. I'm trying to set embedded data from a question that I have added variable naming to the responses. In short, I want to include the variable names as embedded data, not the values or the answer text because it has HTML encoded in it. Is this possible? I thought I had set embedded data up this way by selecting "insert piped text - selected choices recode" which means in my survey flow the embedded data = ${q://QID2/SelectedChoicesRecode} But this just adds numbers to the embedded data which is worthless. I've gone through my embedded data and it turns out this hasn't been working for a while when I'm sure I had it working a few months ago so I'm at a loss as to what to do.Am I doing something wrong? Did Qualtrics change something? Is this a bug? Hope someone can help. Thanks :)

I have a matrix table - likert - drag and drop question. The ‘selected choices’ are images (I’ve tried setting them using the GUI and HTML tags). I’d like to read them in as embedded values (to do some math and then update the embeddedValue).I see that it works to return the image when I pipe the embedded value for the choice, i.e. “${q://QID45/ChoiceGroup/SelectedChoicesForAnswer/1}” in a question but how do I extract the HTML of the selected choice?  Eventually I’d like to get a string but open to other ideas (new to JS). For the love of God, can someone please tell me how i can do this? I just want my two sentences of instructions to remain visible as participants are scrolling and answering the questions that follow. How do I do this? I found a couple of posts but they were about images and I have no idea how to translate those pieces of code to use them for text, I know very little about code... Help!

Hello,I have a survey with images that I would like to present as HotSpot questions. I would like the presentation of these questions to be custom-sized to fit the survey takers’ screens. Currently, I have the following CSS code under Look and feel > Style.#SkinContent{ width:100vw; } #SkinContent{ height:100vw; } .Skin .HotSpot .QuestionBody{display: flex;justify-content: center;}.Skin .HotSpot .QuestionBody {  width: 85% !important;  height: 85% !important;}The idea here was to size the “canvas” on which the images are presented to the screen (100vw) and to center the images and size them such that they cover 85% of this screen area. The last part of this snippet of code didn’t seem to do anything. I also tried other variations I could find online, to no effect. How can I custom-size a HotSpot question? Your help would be much appreciated.

Have a scenario where  1 email contact is completing survey on behalf of multiple customer surveys. That email address is part of a list that also includes customer name & customer id #.  The upload list process allows multiple occurrences of the email address, however Qualtrics is removing duplicate email addresses prior to distributing. Is there a way to tell it to dedupe based on another field, i.,e customer id, instead of the email address?

Good evening, I am doing a study which contains randomly assigned groups. Some means of answer of the survey will show to the respondents (long story) but here is my problem: Is there any way that would allow a response count to be embedded data? So that I could start the randomization after some answers are already recorded? Or some other feature that would start the randomization after, for example, 10 answers? Only way I could think is doing a separate survey for the first respondents but this is not very optimal.  Thank you!!

Hi community,I’m trying to set up a survey with lots of service topics, and all the topics share the same time slots. People can choose max. 2 topics and 2 different time slots in a single response, and I hope that when a respondent answer the second question for choosing time slot, the time slot they selected in the first question will automatically disappear, which can prevent respondent from choosing the same /duplicate time slot for 2 different topics. ( Since they could not attend 2 service in the same time) Below is the only way I know to make the selected choice disappear (the questions below are all different topics) , but it is very manual to add every display logic in every time slots. Do you have any good ideas on it? Very appreciate for the reply if someone knows :)   

Hi, I am including some custom Javascript to add in text for response options that appear when hovering over the response text. If the survey respondent does not have Javascript enabled, how does that affect the display and functionalities of the survey?  Thanks!

Hello Qualtrics community! I am posting because I would like to see text selection made available for USERS of the survey to select text from generated survey responses. USERS = general public accessing surveys, not Qualtrics account holders. I am trying chrome extensions and other methods for working around this terrible website decision, and would appreciate any and all ideas about how to make text selection possible! To note, I realize there is a PDF option available for download, but this does not meet our needs either. Selecting text from a website is such a basic function!

Hi Everyone,My friend and I are currently creating a survey for our master project. To shortly describe the essence of the survey: we aim to provide the respondents with financial information (namely Revenue, Costs and Net Earnings), where they then need to predict the revenue and costs for the forthcoming year. Once they have done that, we would like the survey to display how far off they were (in percentage). We have tried to adjust the java script to incorporate it, but it just constantly says the answer deviated 100%. Do you know how to display how far off the respondents were once they have completed the survey?. We possess the unique IDs for input fields. Hello everyone,I need help with JavaScript as I am quite a novice. I have a pick,group,rank type of question (named "Q1”). There is only one group, and 19 choices (choices are letters, not numbers), participants are allowed to put as many choices as they want (no restriction, can be 1, can be 7) into the group by dragging them to the group, and then rank them in the order they want. In the next question, I want to carry-forward their choices in the order they have put (just to repeat as text question, not as choices), but when I do “carry forward” it does not consider the ranking. I am guessing the best way is to create an embedded field by javascript that saves the rank. I attempted to modify some JavaScript codes I found here, but none of it worked. I would greatly appreciate any help with this.
