What to do with occuring Error?

Hi Community, when I logged in and wanted to continue editing one of my surveys, an error occured at the top saying: Error running module: SyntaxError: Unexpected token <. Now, not all of my survey questions are shown in the editor. However, I can still see them in the preview. Could someone please help me to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

Display logic in email invitations?

Hello everyone, I'd like to distribute a survey email invitation in which the text of the email varies based on the embedded data in the contact list. For example, if the contact list variable "interests" had the value of "cats," the email invitation would display a block of text about cats, but if that variable had the value of "dogs," the email invitation would display a block of text about dogs. FWIW, the contact list in question will be created by a contact list trigger from a survey that is basically a data entry form for staff. Any ideas about how to do this? I'm thinking of a pretty clunky and limited solution in which I create an embedded data variable like "text string" that is always displayed in the email and, to continue the cat example, would have a value like "We see you're interested in cats! Check out resources at cats.com." Thanks for the ideas!

Shark Tank competition assignment to randomized reviewers

I have a survey that serves as an application for a competition (similar to Shark Tank). At the end of the application period, I want to randomly assign each survey submission to 10 different reviewers (by emailing each of these reviewers a link to view that particular survey submission). Would I do this with 10 different Randomizers each with an embedded data field assignment, or one Randomizer with 10 embedded data field assignments? I also don't want duplicates (one particular reviewer gets chosen more than once per application). I have a mockup Contact List with embedded data that I can pull into the Randomizer, but I'm at a loss as to what that embedded data should be and how to get the individual submission over to each reviewer. Is this even possible in Qualtrics? Thank you very much for your time.

Slider custom start position not working?

I've used slider questions with custom start positions many times in the past, but for some reason I am unable to set a custom start position in the survey I'm currently creating. When I click on the "custom start position" button, which usually makes the slider handles visible so that they can be dragged to the desired starting position, nothing happens. I tried going back to old surveys in which I implemented this feature successfully, but even in those the slider handles are missing (in the editor). When I preview the old surveys, the custom start positions are there, but they are impossible for me to see or change in the editor. Has anyone experienced this issue recently? Do you know of a way I can fix this?

How to create a follow up to Matrix Questions

I currently have a Qualtrics survey where teachers are asked to rate the score on a Likert scale they would assign to a child (i.e. "Do you think Child x would score low, medium, or high on this test"). It's a matrix table with kids' names on the rows and low, medium, high as columns. They can only choose 1 response. I'd like to add a question that asks them how confident they are in their response for each child. Any suggestion on how to do so?

eXPIRED LINK

I created a survey several weeks ago and the anonymous link worked fine. Now, when I click on it, I get a message saying "Sorry, this survey has already expired." What setting or other menu option can I use to either refresh the link or change the survey expiration date?

Timeline with markers over entire questionnaire

Dear community, I am new here and I have a question about a function of which I don't know whether Quatrics has it yet. I would like to create a set of markers that indicate when certain questions started and ended from the moment that the survey began. So, in my data, I would like to see for each participant after how much time from the beginning they started and ended Q2, Q6, and Q8. The purpose is to match the data over time with another dataset that also has markers, but cannot be connected to Qualtrics. Any suggestions are welcome! Thank you in advance!

Skip Logic

I set up a test of skip logic where there are three options (1, 2 and 3) in the first question, each of which skips the respondent to question 2, 3, or 4, depending on which of the options he or she chooses. I would like for the respondent who chooses option 1 to only see question 2. But, when I tested it by selecting option 1, I went to question 2 but could also see questions 3 and 4. Can someone tell me how I can set it up so the respondent only sees the one question I want them to see? Thank you.

survey questions piped text linked to existing pdf

I have an existing pdf that has several fields that I would like survey questions to fill out for me using the piped text function. My plan is to have the survey questions fill out the existing pdf and then email it a shared mailbox email account using the email trigger function. Any ideas on how to do it seamlessly? TIA

How to get Q_PopulateResponse to work for side-by-side and matrix tables

I am having difficulty getting Q_PopulateResponse to work for me. I uploaded the prior quarter's answers as Embedded Data to the contact list, and tried setting up the link in my distribution email. However, nothing was populated. Create New Anonymous Links

It looks like my survey link was hacked. I have other active distributions and would like to keep my current survey open. Is there a way to change the anonymous link to prevent the spam survey responses? If not possible, can I close only the anonymous link and not the other distribution channels? Thanks!

"Unlikely response - please confirm"

Has anyone ever run into a situation where we soft-prompt based on an unlikely response? For example... HEIGHT: How tall are you? [dropdown of heights going from 4'0" to 7'11"] [If respondent selects height < 5'0" or > 6'5" then soft prompt] "You've selected [response]. If this is correct please continue." Another example: AGE: "How old are you?" [If age > 80, soft prompt] "You've indicated that you are [age] years old. If this is correct then please continue." I've done this on other platforms but curious what solutions everyone else has come up with? I'm limited to 508 compliant solutions at this time. I have a feeling I'm going to have to create some embedded data and set it with JS on page submit (counters + true/false). EDIT: You can also think of this as a CONFIRMATION prompt if that helps!

Question about survey changes made in middle of survey distribution

I added a "merge and loop" to my survey after a few people had already completed the survey. Now, the initial respondents' survey answers are not showing up in the export of the data - only the respondents' answers who took the survey after the "merge and loop" are showing up. I can see the initial respondents' responses when going into the data individually, but not when exporting the whole results. Is there a way to fix this?

Hello everyone , I have published my survey days ago, but I noticed I need to change the something. I previously set the "enable submission after 60 seconds" but I think it is too much now. How do you score a metric scale?

Hello, I couldn't find any questions or responses related to scoring a metric scale. For example, my survey question is "How old were you when you ...?" and the respondent will input the number, rather than select from a range. I want to score it so that any responses below 18 and below will be a "0" and any responses above 18 will be a "1". How do I do that without having to input each individual number? Is there a way for me to write "< 18" in the "Enter text response for grading" field or something similar to that effect?

Constant Sum question with 3 columns, but want total to be by column not row

Hi. I'm trying to set up a question using constant sum with total. My issue is that I have 3 columns, not one. Each row can only have 1 item with a number input, and I want the total to be by column, not row. I can't figure out how to only allow 1 column to be filled out per row, and how to get it to total by column. I've attached a screenshot of how it's set up right now. Thanks in advance!.!

send out SMS reminder for original invite send via e-mail

We want to send out initial survey invitations via regular e-mail using the Qualtrics mailer, but then send reminders for that same invitation using the Qualtrics SMS distribution. We have full SMS enabled on our Qualtrics license. But it’s not clear if it is possible to send out the original invitation via e-mail but the reminder for that same respondent to the same survey via text message a. I found this page in Qualtrics Support: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/distributions-module/mobile-distributions/sms-surveys/#RemindersandThankYous which says that “Reminder and Thank You Email messages are separate from SMS messages in your library, and cannot be used for each other,” but it is still not clear if/how I can send a reminder via SMS for a survey invite that was originally sent via e-mail.

Scheduling Reminder Emails

I need to send out reminder emails but my emails that I have already sent out are not in a consolidated list but rather each email that I sent out is to one person. When I click on schedule reminder under the emails of the individuals who haven't completed their survey, it only gives me the option to choose unfinished respondents but there is only one person that the email was sent to. Does this mean that it will send it to the one person or if there another way that I can schedule the reminders to everyone in the project that didn't finish the survey?

Using a pre-fill authenticator and require password on same survey

Hi- I want to send my survey by email though Qualtrics to a subset of my contacts and the rest I want to send a letter asking them to login and type in their password. For those who are being emailed I want it to pre-fill with their unique ID so that they aren't asked to enter anything. It should take them straight to their specific set of questions. For those with paper invitations I need it to ask for a password/unique ID and from that info show them only a specific set of questions. So if your ID begins with 1 you get Block 1, if your ID begins with 2 you get block 2 and so on. I would like both the emailed people and the paper invitation people to take the same survey. Is there a way to have an authenticator pre-fill with the unique ID if they come from the emailed contacts or ask for a password if they come from the paper invite? Essentially I'd like to have one survey that allows either participant to take regardless of how they were invited. Is this possible with one survey or

Advanced display logic question

Hi all, I have a survey I am developing for internal research purposes that seems to requires some advanced display logic. The users answer multiple questions (20) to select all of the outcome measures that were utilized in a research paper they are reviewing. For each outcome measure selected, I need to display a question that has the user rank which independent variables (piped in from a previous question) performed best related to that outcome measure. I am aware that I could make a question for each potential outcome measure, and have display logic surface the question only if that outcome measure was selected. However, I have over 20 outcome measures, and I am wondering if there is a more sophisticated way to do this? Recovering Missing Data

Hello everyone, I've collected quite a bit of data and have realized that a good portion of it is systematically missing (only part 2 of the survey). When I look at the data it says "The question was not displayed to the respondent." I've checked my display logic and I've run myself through the survey and everything seems fine. I've also duplicated this survey and the data for the duplicated survey is not missing. I am wondering if anyone can explain why this is the case and hopefully recover this data. I am almost sure that the participants completed these questions because the group with "missing data" took just as long as those who do not have missing data.

Can i use longitude and lattitude metadata to validate against respondent answers

Hi Everyone First time doing this so apologies if I mess up. We ran into a situation where we were experiencing a lot of respondent fraud. Either that, or the entire faculty of a large academic medical center in New York City moved en mass to Dubai. It was clear they were rubbish from their other responses, but it got me to thinking whether we could have used earlier screening questions to avoid them getting through the survey. We asked respondents to identify the state where they were licensed to practice medicine. Is there a way to validate that if the long/lat coordinates are clearly "not" in New York or at least the north east, then this would be flagged for termination? Interestingly, all the people who located near their stated state of practice seemed to give intelligent answers to questions, where as those who did not were clearly garbage answers. I thought authenticator might help, but it doesn't seem it will. I don't want to locate my respondents precisely at

How do I hide a statement in a matrix table where the statements have been carried forward?

I have carried forward a list of randomized statements which include "none of the above" to a following question. As the respondent is rating the carried forward statements on a scale, it doesn't make sense to include "none of the above". I can't figure out how to remove or hide it. ! !
