Regarding the quota.

Can anyone help me to understand how to implement this task: QUOTA 75 COMPLETES, GO TO Q2 There is no option "To go to another question" There are only ones which are listed in the photo.

Qualtrics and (SMI) eyetracking

Hi all, A colleague of mine wants to do eyetracking while participants are looking at screenshots in a Qualtrics survey (about each they also have to answer a number of questions). This is quite possible, but the eyetracker software does not segment the data per page, most probable because Qualtrics Surveys are a Single Page Web Application. We tried forcing a reload with javascript (hoping that the eytracker software will be triggered by a reload to know that a new page is visible), but a javascript forced reload of a question, just reloads the entire survey and makes the survey start at the beginning again. Has anyone experience with (SMI) eytracking on a Qualtrics survey? Thanks in advance, Tiu

Using the randomization output as embedded data

I have 10 questions. I would like to - Present a random half of them - Tell people how many they got right - Ask the remaining 5 questions. I have tried a few ways to do this (e.g., putting within the same block doesn't work since Scoring doesn't happen until end of block/page, creating a vector with 1--10 in a shuffled order and then lots IF clauses (50 for each section), but couldn't see how to do this). The simplest method seems to have these in three blocks, randomly display 5 in first block, feed feedback, then use which were shown in that block to say whether to display again in the third block. BUT, how within the survey (not afterwards) can I get this information? Much thanks, Dan

How to display the number of incorrect answers?

Hello, I am trying to see if I can conduct an experiment using the Qualtrics platform and one of my issues is figuring out the following: Is there any way that I can display the number of _only_ incorrectly answered questions to a participant? Thank you very much for your help.

Emailing Individuals on a Contact List

Hello, Is there some way of sending an email that does not contain a survey link to a specific individual in a contact list? It looks like I ought to be able to do this by opting the individual in and then emailing the list but this does not seem to work? Thanks, Uma

Offline app login issue

I have downloaded the latest version of the Qualtrics Offline App (1.4.07) and installed it on my Android phone. The phone has an internet connection, use of the app is enabled for my Qualtrics account, and I follow the instructions on the Qualtrics help pages that apply specifically to SSO accounts. (Typing in just the username and the API token.) However, the app always replies: "Unable to login. Please ensure your username and password are correct, and that your brand has permission to use this application." I am quite sure the provided details are correct, and our organization did always have permission to use the app. Do others also run into this issue? Could it be a problem since the latest update?

Advice on setting up a time survey/diary of respondent activities during the day?

Hello, Im hoping to find the best way to have respondents be able to capture how they spent their day at work. I have a list of high-level activities and tasks associated with those activities, but am also needing to capture when they competed those activities. I was hoping to use a drill down type question so respondents could choose (1) Activity (2) Task (3) Begin time (4) End time, however, there are too many selection combinations for a drill down question (the max is 10,000, but I would have many more than that)! Any advice/ideas from the community on how best to set up a survey like this? Thanks in advance!

Setting Survey expiration based on number of responses

Hello, I am sending out my survey to a number of possible respondents but expect a 10% response rate. I don't have the budget to host more data than that (and other HSPC regulations) so I would like to automatically have the survey switch off or expire after I hit the required number of respondents. Is it possible to do this or will I have to keep manually monitoring the data and switch it off as I get close? Thanks!

Hello, I am trying to customize the progress bar on my survey, using the following CSS code: However, I want to increase the size of the 0%, 100% and SurveyCompletion labels - as they are too small now. How to remove text IQ question

I've inadvertently added a question in the Data & Analysis - Text IQ/Analysis section and now it is downloading at the end of my data as a blank embedded data field. Does anyone know if it is possible to delete this so it doesn't download?

How can I send a survey in a specific language using mailing list?

I'm distributing a survey in Spanish and English and I want different users to receive it in one of those languages. I'm using e-mail distribution and specifying the language with "ES" (Spanish Latin America) and EN (English USA) but all surveys arrive in English, even though the survey language is set to Spanish. If the problem is due to the browser's language setting, can I override it using e-mail distribution?

Change Question Type and Response data

Hi Qualtrics Community members. Need help with using and analyzing the data from one of my survey. I had used a slider for one of the questions for people to rate their awareness level on a particular topic instead of likert scale based choice option. The survey is now closed and the data has been recorded however when trying to cross tabulate the responses because this particular question (a key question for my survey) was a slider it does not show up as one of the questions to be used in the list for cross tabulation. Can anyone suggest how to change this so it gets included in the Cross tabulation section and if needed I could overwrite the responses as a slider the options were 1 - 5 under liker multi choice the options will go something like this Least familiar, Somewhat familiar, Moderately familiar, Very Familiar and Extremely Familiar. Any assistance will be highly appreciated. Thanks,

How reliable is the GeoIP Estimation?

Hello everyone, I have just run a pilot survey on MTurk using a link with a survey created with Qualtrics and I specifically asked on MTurk to have only participants from the US. When I look on Qualtrics at the data collected different locations appear (Honduras, the Philippines, India) and I do not know what the correct information is...... Longitudinal, i.e. panel data survey. Different workflow in survey for 1st and 2nd time respondents

I have a longitudinal survey and about 400 people took it for the first time and gave their email. Now it is time for them to take the survey again. However, I want the second time respondents to answer further questions. I thought I would have access to the email address in the survey for repeat respondents but haven't found a way to make it work. Basically I want logic of the type "If email is not blank, then show this block of questions". What is the simplest way to achieve this? I also want to send out the original anonymous link to other people who would take the survey for the first time. Am I forced to send a different survey to the repeat respondents or is the above doable? Thank you, Christoph

Hello, I have a survey with 15 blocks, each has 3 questions. I want to assign each block to a participant (total 15 participants). How do I do this dynamically? For example, first participant gets a block, when second participant ready to take the survey, a different block will be assigned.

Can I create a question where participants give a range of values as a response?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to create a question in response to which participants are able to give a range as a response, or upper and lower bounds to their response. E.g. on a scale of 1 to 10, someone might provide a response of 4 to 8. Is this possible? I've tried using a rating question, but the range is always bound to the minimum on the rating scale. Item randomisation across blocks

Hi, I have a series of questionnaires with a total of 50 questions. I'll be displaying these in matrix format. I want to randomise the order of all 50 questions, but I don't want to put them in as one question - I'd like to have them as separate matrices for each questionnaire so that when I come to analyse the results, I don't have to separate them out into their respective surveys from one massive block of 50. Am I right in thinking that if I have five questionnaires, and put each questionnaire into one matrix (with e.g. 10 statements in each - so they will still be grouped together in the data output) and select randomise all questions, it will only randomise the order of the questionnaires, not of the 50 statements? Hello, I need to display one of two messages, "continue" or "stop", depending on the current loop number vs total loop count. So if current# is less than total loop# then display "continue", else if current# = total#, then display "stop".

Date validation options

Hi all, Is there an EASY way to enter an acceptable date range for the following scenarios: 1. Participants must be over 18 - so their date of birth entered should fall before: today's date minus 18 years 2. Participants child must be between 2 weeks and 12 months old - so their baby's dob should fall between: today's date minus 2 weeks and today's date minus 52 weeks If the dates entered do not fall between the validation dates I would like an error message to appear saying "Please check the dates entered. Please note you must be over 18 with an infant aged 2 weeks to 12 months to participate in this study." Having no knowledge of how to write JS, how might I do that? I would have thought it would be a standard function however the validation only seems to allow for the format of the date, not a range. I've looked at the library and can't see that there's an option there but please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I've looked at custom validation and can't see that entering a range is

How to "carry forward" answers?

Hi! Is it possible to "carry forward" answers on Qualtrics? Our idea is to first ask a question "Which of the following TVs would you choose?" and then ask a question "There's been an improvement in energy efficiency that leads to decreased energy consumption. Based on that information, which of the following TVs would you choose?". Choices will include several attributes of TVs, and we want respondents to be able to see their previous answer ("Which of the following TVs would you choose?"). We want to see how answers change depending on the new information; hence, it is important that respondents see what they have chosen previously. At the same time, we do not want them to change the answers, so having the questions on one page is not desirable. Thank you!

Some words in bold disappear in the preview mode

Hello everyone, I am now designing my first survey with Qualtrics and I have encountered the following problem: 1. In the questions I am asking I need to have some words in bold and I used the Rich Content Editor for that. But when I click on preview some words are in bold and some are not (they were in bold when I wrote them) and I do not understand why and do not know what to do about it....... 2. I have used two different fonts in the questions - but again I cannot see them in the preview. Thank you in advance for your help.

User taking two surveys

So I have employees that are taking two surveys and I would like them to be able to complete one survey and take the other one without having to use a different link. The other caveat is that some employees need to be connected to another survey while others taking the same first survey will need to complete a different survey. Is this possible to do? Thanks!
