How do I hide a statement in a matrix table where the statements have been carried forward?

I have carried forward a list of randomized statements which include "none of the above" to a following question. As the respondent is rating the carried forward statements on a scale, it doesn't make sense to include "none of the above". I can't figure out how to remove or hide it. ! !

Allow non-qualtrics users to download/export results

Hi! What we are trying to achieve is to give non-qualtrics users the possibility to export and download their survey answers once the survey has been completed. Is it possible to do so in excel? I only manage to see the PDF option. If yes, how? Thank you.

Labels under the slider bar (two slider bars with different labels)

In the survey I am preparing some of the blocks have two slider bar questions with different labels. I need the labels of both slider bars to be displayed below the track bar. When I use javascript to achieve this, the result is that labels are indeed displayed beneath the slider bars but by duplicate. As in the image: ! I am using a javascript code I found in another thread. I am inserting it in the "Onload" function of only one of the questions. If I insert the code in both questions the result is now four sets of labels under the track of the slider bars. This is the code i am using: jQuery(" ul.labels").insertAfter("div.slider-container"); By the way, using jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" ul.labels").insertAfter("div.slider-container"); in one or both questions does not solve the problem. When added to only one question it makes the labels of all questions to be displayed under the track bars but leaves a set of labels over the second questions as in the image: !

Asking for a timespan

Hi, Very new to qualtrics. I'm trying to ask respondents for how long they have been active in their occupation. I wanted to do it in the form of two drop down menus (so many years, so many months). Right now I have it in the form of a drill down question for which I made an excel file, however, this gives a very unhandy output value (4 years equals 53). Does anyone know of a way to do this another way?

1 question, multiple text entry fields

Hi! Can anyone recommend how to create a question that could receive multiple text entry responses? Imagine a question like: "please write down what comes to mind when you think of X" followed by multiple text entry fields. Something like a form, but without labels. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

How can I change the spacing on form elements and boxes?

I am using statements selected in a previous question within a form. When I try to resize the boxes manually, they revert on preview to single lines (seen below). I am also looking for a way to change the spacing of the statements themselves -- character length per line, spaces between statements -- so that they are easily to read. !

Skipping an entire row of a loop based on previous question

Hi Qualtrics community. I have an issue that I know how to resolve on other platforms but I'm running into a complicated way of addressing it here. Long story short: Is there a way to skip the entire row of a loop if an earlier question does not meet certain criteria? SCENARIO: I have a loop of 50+ rows, each asking if you have been diagnosed with certain diseases/afflictions. Some of these are sex specific (i.e. don't ask about testicular cancer if the respondent wasn't born with testes). The sequence goes something like this: Q1 Have you ever been diagnosed with ________? Yes -> Go to Q2 No -> Go to next row NULL -> Go to next row Q2 At what age were you diagnosed with _______? Q3 Do you still have _______? SKINQ [show only to skin cancer, row 2] "What kind were you diagnosed with?" DIABETESQ [show only to diabetes, row 33] "What kind were you diagnosed with?" I configured skip logic on Q1 to be "If YES is NOT selected, skip to end of block" I have the special ques

Use IF like function on embedded values

Dear community, I am designing a survey in which respondents first select an answer from a list of 13 possible answers. Then, they again select answer from the same list (-1) of now 12 possible answers. Then the answers to both questions are used to generate content later in the survey. Using embedded values i have figured out how to transfer the answers to the two question to questions later: party1 = ${q://QID32/ChoiceDescription/1} party2 = ${q://QID34/ChoiceDescription/x2} So later, I refer to $e://Field/party1, etc. And this works. In addition to this I also need to display specific images, that relate to these party1, party2 labels. How do I refer to this? I was thinking of doing something like: pic1 = paste(party1, ".jpg") But I do not know javascript at all. And also I do not know how to refer to images loaded into the qualtrics library. Please do note that I have 256 different possible combinations of the first two questions, and I do not want to use branching logic for

Error opening downloaded data file

When I downloaded a csv data file to my desktop and tried to open it, I got a message that Windows cannot complete the extraction. I figured out how to extract the data, but that's never happened to me before and wondered if anyone else has receive that error.

How to stop display of the respondents answers to the previous questions

Hello Folks, I made a survey for my master thesis and I realized that when a respondent answers a question, after moving to the next page of the survey, his/her responses to the previous questions are shown on top of the new page. Do you know how may I deactivate this feature? Regards

Can we remove the "language" dropdown box?

We have 4 different languages in a study. We have specific jpgs that will be shown based on language they are taking the survey and we don't want them to be able to switch at any point in the survey. Is there a way to remove the drop down box that allows them to change languages?

Can you make Qualtrics assign a value to an empty choice in a likert scale?

I'm asking questions and I have a 7 point likert scale after each question. I'm only labeling the first choice as not at all important, then the middle choice as neutral, and the last choice as extremely important. I'm doing that for aesthetic reasons and prefer to keep it that way. The problem is that when I export the data, Qualtrics doesn't give a value to the points in the likert scale without a label. Is there a way to tell qualtrics to map a specific choice to a number, so when it's exported it will show up? I thought about labeling the choice with a transparent number through CSS, but maybe there's a better way? Thanks!

How to transfer survey from free account to premium account?

Background: I created the survey that I wanted on a free account, then when I saw that I'm only allowed 100 responses on a free account, I asked my university to provide me with a premium account. However, I can not figure out how to transfer the survey I created on my free account to my other premium account, and when I try the "Copy Project" to "Other User" it does not allow me even when I type the email of my premium account properly. Any help on this would be appreciated

Distinguish 0 v/s 'Not Applicable' choice in slider

I have a slider with numeric choices from 0 to 4 in the increment of 0.5. I also have 'Not Applicable' option turned on. In the very next question I have custom validation. User must provide comments if user selected value in slider is less than 1 or Greater then 3. No validation is required if user selects 'Not Applicable' However it seems my validation is failing when user selects 'Not Applicable' since the choice value is coming up as zero. How to distinguish user selected 0 value v/s 'Not Applicable' selection in Slider ? I am trying to avoid Java Scripts.

Images from library in Loop and Merge Fields?

Hello! I'm trying to build a survey where participants are shown three images -- one scene, as the question, and two objects, as the possible answers. Participants will be asked to pick the object that 'goes' with the scene. I want to use Loop & Merge to loop through 32 scenes and 32 pairs of objects, all of which reside in my Graphics Library. According to Qualtrics Support one could use the HTML for the image in the Field and then pipe it in, but I'm unsure how exactly to do that. Just pasting in the URL for its location in my library results in the URL being displayed. Any assistance is appreciated! Thanks!

Advanced Display Logic or Skip Logic

Is it possible to write out far more advanced skip or display logic somehow? I have multiple grouping categories that I want to skip/disply...for example... DISPLAY IF: (Q3=01 OR (Q1=02 OR (Q1=05 AND Q7=18)) OR (Q22=8 AND CONSENT=1)) AND VOX>8 I'm really just trying to group complex statements together logically. So VOX>8 has to apply across all the other conditions. This is just an example of something I'm having to deal with repeatedly. Right now I would have to write out every single combo as separate logical sets because I can't seem to find a way to put logical sets _within existing logical sets_.

Can I export a list of bounced email addresses if I am sending an email to a contact list?

I am looking to email my contact list prior to distributing a survey. I want to see which emails addresses bounce prior to distributing my survey. I exported the Email history but I did not see a column which shows bounce status.

Adding a block box for collecting Survey Introduction's Information and some more

Hello, I need to add an information collection box of the person taking the survey like below: ! Any suggestion on how I can go about it? Below is what I made but it doesn't feel right. ! Is there a right way to do this? Because I was thinking about how a report would run for this and this would only show up as a respond data and not a driving group. Date Picker and Validation in the Text Field

To whom it may concern, I was able to apply the "date picker" to a text field. However, I noticed quickly that I seem to have problems with validation on the text field using date picker at the same time. Want to know if it is possible to either: 1. Prevent user entry into the text field - forcing the use of the "Date Picker" 2. Add validation for the text field, should the user type into the field, the date format of the "date picker" selection is extended to that field so I don't end up with gobblygook. See image: ! Generate a random number using a previously generated random number?

Hey there! I am trying to generate a set of random numbers in a survey. I am using the embedded data so that I can store the random numbers because I will need them for analysis. I generate the first one as follows: Number1 = ${rand://float/0:50} And I am embedding this number into a question. Then I want to ask a question that calls a random number in the range of 0 to Number1. Something like this: Number2 = ${rand://float/0:${e://Field/Number1}} but all I get out when I call Number2 is '}' Any thoughts? Thanks!

how can I time 3 blocks together?

I am buliding a survey and wish to set time for 3 separte blocks. How can I do this? I can't make it all in one block because I need to randomize. my goal is that participants will roll 3 dices in 30 seconds all thourgh the computer. I build each block out of 6 questions - 6 numbers on the dice and randomized it so it will be similar to a real dice roll. now I want the participants to roll 3 times the dice in 30 seconds. thank you for the help Inbal
