Preview works but anonymous link leads to broken survey

I set up my survey in Qualtrics as I normally do - no tricks I haven’t used before. I previewed it using the ‘preview’ button several times - no problems there. However, the survey link (copied from ‘anonymous link’ under the Distributions tab) leads to a broken survey - it skips crucial blocks from the middle of the survey. How is this possible, and has anyone else experienced this? It’s not my computer - I discovered the problem after I launched the survey on Prolific, only to find that participants were facing this glitch and not being shown the full survey.  I’ve been using Qualtrics and Prolific for years and never had a problem like this - it seems to be a problem with the link within Qualtrics. Any ideas? Thanks!

Filtering out images for randomisation without replacement?

Hi, I’m new to Qualtrics and javascript and have a research design where participants need to see 6 of a total 36 graphics. However, the images they see initially need to restrict subsequent image presentations. i.e. there are 6 types of image (A, B, C, D, E, F) with 6 types of information (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) (36 total), so if participants see D2 first, they can’t see any more Ds or 2s, leaving them with A, B, C, E, and F; and, 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6. If the next presentation was then B4, they can’t see any more Bs or 4s, etc, etc. until they’ve seen 6 graphics and each of the 6 types of image and 6 types of information with no repeats. I’m not sure how to do this functionally on Qualtrics without replacing and amending embedded data after presentations, which can’t work with the study design. Chatgpt has been pretty unhelpful, and I’ve had a look at some of the existing posts on this forum and found similar problems but nothing that helps me. How can I pre-fill text box responses and lock them to prevent editing?

Hi all, I am trying to show my respondents some additional text for each option shown in a side-by-side question (SEE SCREENSHOT BELOW).I cannot add this directly to the first column where the options are listed, as the options are carried forward from a previous question.My approach has been to add a second column with text boxes, and use the default choices function to populate the corresponding text that I want to show for each option. I want the second column to effectively be an extension of the first, rather than something for the respondent to edit.However, as it stands, I do not know how to ‘lock’ the text box so that this cannot be edited (or whether this is at all possible). Can anybody suggest how this could be done? Or any other approaches? Thanks!

Does anyone have any experience with participant compensation (e-gift cards) for survey completion?

Hi Qualtrics Community!My team and I are looking to start a follow-up online survey using Qualtrics and would like to provide respondents with compensation (in the form of e-gift cards) for completion of the survey. We are looking to provide each participant (n=700+) with one gift card each at the end of the survey, to ensure participants' information/responses are anonymized, and to minimize the possibility for respondents to complete the survey multiple times to collect additional gift cards. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with adding gift card compensation to their survey without the use of Tango Card Incentive integration? If anyone has done this before and can provide a detailed process of how to complete this or is able to provide any helpful tips, it would be greatly appreciated!Thank you for all the help in advance!

Least fill - Adding a variable to show the bucket a respondent was placed in?

I’m building a survey that has seven different respondent buckets. Respondents could potentially qualify for multiple buckets, so I’m applying least fill by percentage in the quotas. However, I don’t see a way to have it tell me which bucket the respondent was assigned to (and therefore which quota it’s incrementing against) as a result of the least fill.I expected it to automatically create an embedded variable or something else in the survey flow once I enabled least fill so I could see this, but that doesn’t appear to be happening. Is there specific branch/embedded data logic I can use to create such a variable?

Populate Text/Graphic from external source (csv)

The scenario is that there are 50 text examples that survey participants would be evaluating through a Matrix question (rubric).Instead of cutting and pasting the content of each of those text example into 50 different Text/Graphic questions, is it possible to have the content of an external source, like a csv file, populate into the Text/Graphic option?If this is possible, what would the process look like/involve? Randomization would be nice but not necessary.I can mess around with code, but am not facile at writing it from scratch.Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Batch editing of questions

Hi folks,I have a pretest and post-test survey.  I named the pretest questions (essentially) Q1_pre and would like to name the post-test questions Q1_post.  I copied the pretest survey to make the post-test, and I’m wondering if there is an easy way to change all of the questions from _pre to _post.  In essence, is there a way to search and replace?Many thanks!

Struggling to sort

Hey Everyone! For my 4th year research project I am trying to compare different types of veterinarians (small animal vs large animal) and their responses to mental health questions.   I have a series of multiple choice questions but am struggling to sort the data of these multiple choice questions apart based on the response of the ‘What kind of veterinarian are you’ question.  Is there anyone that could help me? I would really appreciate any advise!

Piping Answer into a DrillDown Question

Good day,Is it possible to pipe answers, or create logic, from previous questions into a DrillDown Question?  What I would like to do is use a previous question asking who the user is to then determine the selection choices available to the user on the DrillDown Question.What I am trying to do is to make only the relevant DrillDown choices available for the users without having to create multiple versions of the same DrillDown question.Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Linking 3 surveys, and sending them at specific/individual times

Hi,I need to conduct a longitudinal study with 3 data collection moments and I am not finding a suitable solution to link and distribute my 3rd survey at the correct time. I am hoping to receive some suggestions from the Community.  Here is what I would like to do:Survey 1→ Respondents fill in the consent form to participate in the study, including identifiable information (name, email address).Survey 2→  Survey 2 directly follows Survey 1 (via URL or email task) and is linked to Survey 1 through an embedded “participant ID” (which was randomly generated in Survey 1). Survey 2 can be filled in right after Survey 1. In Survey 2, I ask participants to indicate when their therapy session will take place.Survey 3 → Here is what I cannot solve: I want to send Survey 3 to participants exactly the day after their therapy session. This day will be different for everyone, so I cannot automatize this and schedule a fixed time for everyone based on some rule. I do not mind sending Survey 3 manual

permantly deleted survey

Hello,When a user deletes their survey. The brand administrator can then place it back. The brand administrator can permanently delete the questionnaire.Is there an overview to see which user has deleted a survey or can it be automatically deleted permanently? all ideas are welcome, including personal experiences of how other organizations deal with it.

Text box size

I have 4 Essay text boxes which appear one by one on 4 pages. For some reason, in one experimental condition, the last text box appearing on the 4th page is always bigger than the others, although I resized them to be the same by hand, and everything else specified is the same. I cannot solve this, do you know what could be the reason for this?

How to collect embedded data on which text questions were presented within a block

Hello,I have a survey which randomizes the order in which two groups of blocks are presented (The groups represent two differently framed sets of questions). Within each group, all blocks are presented in a randomized order. Within each block, there is a timing question, then a random presentation of 1 of 2 text type questions (not text entry, just text, referred to here on as statements), followed by the same 2 multiple choice questions with recoded numerical values, regardless of whether statement 1 or 2 was presented. The first multiple choice question is different between the two groups of blocks, but the second is the same across groups. Further, within each block, across both groups, statement 1 is about the same topic A and statement 2 is about the same topic B. The statements in group 2 always include the name of the topic conjugated in the same way (the survey is not in English), but the statements in group 1 almost but do not always include the name of the topic in the statem

I have asked the same question more than once (as part of the pilot) and one time it displays the results correctly and the other times it states ‘Invalid field group. There is a mismatch in the field group’s field types’.What settings do I need to change to make sure the results display please?

Need Help with Handling Repeat Survey Access for Additional Responses

I am currently managing a survey where participants are required to provide feedback on multiple projects. The survey is set up to loop through a set of questions for each project selected by the respondent. Here's a simplified explanation of the setup:The survey starts by listing all the projects assigned to the participant since a specific year. The participant selects which projects they wish to provide feedback on. Based on their selections, the survey loops through the questions for each selected project.The issue I am running is for people who complete the survey for some (but not all) selected projects and then attempt to re-enter the survey at a later time to complete sections for the remaining projects encounter an error message: "You have either already completed the survey or your session has expired."How can I configure the survey to allow participants to re-enter the survey to complete it for additional projects without triggering the completion or session expiration messa

Retrieving Embedded data and creating a pi chart

Hello, I am trying to create a survey that will collect information about participants food consumption and driving behaviours. Their values will be used to calculate their carbon footprint and the percentage value of each category (i.e., food and driving). Then I would like to present these percentages to the participants on the next page in pi chart form. I am very new to this and I have no idea what I am doing. I started by setting the embedded data values: This seems to work, as I am able to see the calculated percentages in text from in the preview. However, I want these values to be visualized in a pi chart. survey language sets language of email

I have a survey that we will be distributing with an anonymous link. The survey is available in English and Spanish, as are the confirmation emails that I have set up as a workflow to go out when new responses are submitted. Unfortunately, when the users submit the survey, it’s only sending the emails in English even though they may have changed the survey language to Spanish while filling it out. What do I need to do to trigger the Spanish translation of the email instead of the English one?

Need side-by-side dates in same column to be after eachother

Hello!Currently am trying to get dates to be validated in side-by-side formats where entering a MM/DD/YYYY date in the first box of the column is then used as the min date for the next date in the column, and the third box have the min date validation of the second date box, and so on.Additionally, if there is a second column that acts as the “end date” of the first column, I want the “start date’s” to have a min of the “end date,” and so on. For example: Above I’m wanting information to be entered in the “Start date” open entry for Date 1 row. They need to enter an “End date.” For Date 2, I need the “Start date” to have validation to make sure it starts on or after the Date 1 “End date.”Is this possible? We have JS to validate using cleave just fine, but it’s the using JS to make sure subsequent dates use the previous dates as validation. Here’s the script we use in the header for columns that coincide with the JS on the question: Start date<div data-minmax='{"type":"date","min":"0

I have a question about the Distribute Survey - Recent Responses Graph.   Sent a survey with email reminders.  I have set reminders for a survey for a week.  On the graph there are several days that are blank.  Invite over email = 0.  why are some of the days blank/no info.

Adjust the length of the drag and drop box for mobile

I have a Matrix Table with a Drag and Drop option into 1 scale point which then appears as a box. On mobile when scrolling it’s difficult to pull the items from the long list into the box. Is there a script to adjust the length of the box itself? This question must be a drag and drop contextually makes the most sense, so I don’t want to change it to just a multiselect.

Cookie tracking without consent (QSI_HistorySession)

I was just checking the cookies when a survey link is opened. I noticed that the cookie below was set and as value it seems as it just contains the survey link. QSI_HistorySessionAs described in the cookie statement, it is no strictly necessary one but a “performance cookie” to “count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site”. To track this cookie, Qualtrics would actually need to collect consent via some popup. However, Qualtrics does not have that. Is there any chance to avoid tracking the QSI_HistorySession cookie? BestChristian

A relatively high percentage of participants drop-out, resulting in an unequal division between my Control and Experimental group. Is there a way on Qualtrics to see where these participants dropped-out in my study (e.g. in which block/page)?

InPage Display Logic is unvailable for hotspot question

Hi,I am fairly new to qualtrics and i am trying to display a hotspot image based on another hotspot image question.Basically, if user selects region “c” and “d” in Q1, then Q2 should be displayed in the same page. The display logic itself works great but i really want them displayed in the same page.In Page option didnt work because of “In Page Display Logic is unavailable since you are using an incompatible question type: Hot Spot”Is there any workaround for this? I just want the two hotspot questions in the same page along with display logic enabled.

Javascript, ID URL and quota

Dear all,I have 3 questions concerning Qualtrics surveys:The option javascript isn't accessible in the question behaviour section which means I am currently enable to track user clicks (don't know about another way) I need to add an ID variable in my URL for a panel but I'm not sure which values to add for the emdbed data values (I've asked the panel, but maybe the answer is straightforward) I'd like to set quotas but the condition isn't about responses types but the number of them (every 75 responses the survey access has to be blocked so changes to a website can be made, once done the survey would manually be reaccesible)I am far from an expert in coding so any response would help
