Import Responses- End Date issue

I want to import the historical data into my survey. I also want to import the End dates.When I try to map the Survey Meta Data’s End Date, I’m getting an error.I tried to add an Embedded data field and import the End Date. But the problem is I want to be able to report on the Quarterly results based on the End Date and then I’m having 2 columns(one with Embedded field for old data and one with Survey Meta data’s field for new responses).Can someone please help me with this?

Sending value embedded data as query parameter via webservice

Hi,  I am working on a survey in which I have a webservice (API) that requires for each user to get a unique ID for their response.  I tried creating an embedded data = random number and setting the embedded data as the query parameter, but it doesn’t work. The issue is that I get the full text of the embedded data ($e://Field/random_id) instead of the expected value (random number from 0 to 1000). See the image below: If I do the random number directly in the query parameter, like the image below, it works. However, I need the first solution to work because I need to keep track of the respondent random number for a second wave of the survey. Any idea how to fix this?

Timing is not reporting for some questions

Hi everyone! We are in our soft launch and noticed that the timing is coming in blank for some questions that it is set up on.Does anyone know why this would be happening? Here is a screenshot of 1 of the questions it is happening to. Q8 - it did not capture timing. Q16 - it did capture timing. The only difference I see is the page break. Should I remove page breaks if timing is assigned to a question?Thanks!

Authenticator - Won’t Pass With Same Email

Hi EveryoneHope you’re well.I have a simple authenticator setup, but for some reason it won’t pass for the same person twice via email.I am intending to use the survey as a form, so the same person could be retaking the form multiple times. The authenticator will help pull in embedded data from a contact list to help pre-populate the form with common requests. Name, Email, Address, Etc…Hope you can help.Thanks :)

Created fields not copying over when survey duplicated

At the end of a course, we survey our students to seek their feedback; the survey is standardised and specific to each course (eg faculty name, course name, course dates etc).  I have therefore created a ‘master’ copy that is copied and updated for each course.Embedded in the survey are four created fields that convert star ratings to German scores (in the German system, 1 = best ie 5 stars, and 5 = worst ie 1 star).  I took this approach as I couldn’t recode the star values so that 5 stars = 1; 4 stars = 2 etc.However, whenever the survey is copied, the calculated fields disappear, ditto for the reports that show findings.How can the survey be copied over in its entirity, calculated fields and reports included?Huge thanks.

Reduce space between question & answers and within answers

Date Range Picker Question and Calculation

Hi everyone,I'm not very familiar with tech or JavaScript (or any programming language for that matter), so any simplified explanations/guidance would be greatly appreciated. I've seen similar questions in the community but have found them hard to follow or not applicable.I’m looking to insert a date picker question to my survey for the participants to select a range and I would prefer for the survey to automatically calculate the length of the range which I will later pipe into a different question.Any help/leads would be appreciated. Randomise where one block shows in my survey

I have a survey which consists of 12 blocks. One of the blocks I want to show either in the 4th block position or the 12th block position.Hopefully participants would have a 50% change of seeing the block in either 4th or 12th.I’m really struggling with this- any help would be incredibly appreciated. If you are able to include images that would be amazing.

Drill down question - import choices error

I am trying to create a drill-down question about height, where participants can select units (centimeters or feet-inches) in the first step, and then their height in these units in the next step.I have prepared a CSV file with possible choices, but when I import it using “Import choices”, I see an error: “ File is the incorrect type.”I am sure that the file is in the correct format and the import setting are correct. It is a csv file in UTF-8 format that looks like this (not real answers):cm,160cm,170cm,180ft,4ft,5ft,6Interestingly, I receive the same error when I follow instrucitons from the Qualtrics website for creating a drill-down question about cars (year-make-model) using the example file from the website.Any help on how to import the choices would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

Excel Extension using Organization Microsoft 365 Account

Hello,We would like to connect our organization's Microsoft 365 account to use the Excel Extension in Qualtrics. While the connection setup looks straightforward, the documentation doesn’t clearly explain how the integration controls access to the individual user account within our organization’s Microsoft 365 account.It also mentions the option to connect to an individual M365 account, but this is not something we would want to do. We would like the user to use the organization’s M365 account only.To put it another way, everyone in our organization has an individual M365 account within our main M365 org account. Visible Picture in workflow as opposed to a link

I have surveys set up in our plant to report incidents and hazard hunts.  All of the reports require a photo to be included of the incident or hazard hunt.  I have email triggers set up for managers to receive when a survey is completed in their area.  I have included in the email trigger a place for the picture to post.  I only have the option to include the link.  Managers are not able to view the picture.  Is there a way to force the picture to show in the triggered email as opposed to just the link? Thank you!

Issue with Tab Key Navigation in Flat Layout Matrix Question

I'm encountering an issue with the Flat Layout in Qualtrics matrix questions. When using the tab key to navigate between answer choices, the outline (visual indicator of focus) doesn't appear.I've tried implementing custom CSS to address this behavior, but haven't been successful. Currently, the outline only appears on hover, not when navigating with the tab key. This creates accessibility concerns for users who rely on keyboard navigation.Has anyone else encountered this issue? Are there any known workarounds or solutions to enable the outline for tab key navigation in the Flat Layout matrix question?

Translations not loading

'Locking' a formula in Workflow

I have a matrix table of text entries with numeric values to be entered in each box.  In workflow, I have math operations to sum each row.  Works great thanks to help from the community!BUT, is it possible to somehow ‘lock’ the math operation so the piped text that indicates the row number does not change every time there is an edit made to the form and published?Below shows Nominee 2 piped in now as value ‘377’ instead of the original ‘2’ after someone made some edits and published. I now have to edit every operation so the correct new value is shown.

Retroactive email task using data from another survey

Hi friends, I am wondering if it is possible to do the following:I would like to have qualtrics send out an email one year after participant’s survey completion date (date collected as embedded data). (1) Can I implement this email task retroactively, so that after all participants have been collected, I can program the email task and still have all participants receive an email?I also plan to collect participants email adresses in a separate survey in order to keep main survey data deidentified. The link between the participants contact information in the separate survey, to their data in the main survey, will be an automatically generated and embedded participant ID. (2) Is it possible to implement the email task based on the date that each participant completes the main survey (embedded data), but using their email address from the separate survey? or vice versa – it doesn’t matter which survey contains the email task, as long as participants are sent the email.

Longitudinal study - using the same link with the same login more than once

Hi,  I am trying to implement a longitudinal study where participants will complete baseline survey with our research team. During baseline survey, participants will be given a unique code. Then, we will post Qualtrics anonymous link on our website so that participants can come back and complete them at the following time3 months  6 months  9 months  12 months.We cannot do personal link since many of our participants will not have email address.  I was able to link baseline and 3-month survey using Authenticator feature on Qualtrics. In short, participants can use their unique code as their login into 3 months survey.  The challenge is that I only want to post one Qualtrics anonymous link on our website instead of one link for 3-month survey, one link for 6-month survey, and so on. This is mainly because I don’t think participants would know which link they should click on (In other words, I don’t think they would know which survey they should take). This means, I want participants to

Chat-room survey ends suddenly

Hello,I am working on a survey with a chat-room feature. At the moment I am having issues because when a participant chooses to leave early from the chat-room (part 1) and progresses with the survey to part two, they have to wait for the other participants to finish in order for qualtrics to retreive data from all 4.  However, the survey keeps getting cut off and ending suddenly. I attempted to fix this by changing the “maxWaitTime” for the GET block (for part 2). This didn’t work. Should I implement a waiting room to ensure all participants are present before proceeding to part 2, or is there any other way to fix this issue?

How to randomize multiple segments equally?

Hello!  I am writing a survey where I’ll have 4 segments by device type and will create a variable to categorize them.  There will be 25 per segment.   I also need to show two different question sets to half of all respondents.  I’d like each device type segment to be equally divided (can be off one since it’s an odd number) so that I don’t end up with the entire sample being equally divided while the different device types are not.  I know how to create the variables for the device types and I know how to randomize blocks, but not sure how I can assure each segment is equally divided 50/50 between the question sets.  Appreciate any thoughts! Thanks!

Timer help

How to set workflow to do an event after X reponses?

I am trying to set up a workflow to keep me updated on the progress of one of my surveys.  I was trying to set it up that it would send me an email after X number of responses (let’s say 5). The workflow seems to be able to send the email no problem, but I have not been able to figure out how to condition it upon the number of responses received. For example, I want to set it up so that I would receive an email notification after Response #5, Response # 10, Response #15, and so on. Does anyone have an idea if such a conditioning is possible and how to go about it?

Embedded Data field not populating as expected - Language = AR

I currently have the following Embedded Data field in my survey flow to provide a date stamp; ${date://CurrentDate/DS} . This works consistently for all languages other than Arabic.  I’m looking for suggestions on how to change this code to have Arabic be consistent with other languages.  The format in my data is populated like the following yyyy-m-d
