Send new survey to seperate contacts

I have a survey project scheduled to go to 6,000 contacts. When I did a soft launch to just 200, however, an error was discovered! Thank goodness for little tests. I need to create a whole new survey project to send to the remaining contacts. I don't want to bother the initial 200 with a second survey, however. Does anyone know an expedient way to identify the "non-soft launch" people? I can't think of anything sort of exporing them all and cross referencing my soft-launch sample, and then re-uploading them. Which feels really cumbersome! I could be wrong but it really feels like there should be a faster way to do this...

Can you create an email task that sends to a recipient defined within a survey?

I've created an anonymous feedback form and want any comments to be emailed to the individual identified via embedded data appended to the survey URL. Other than creating a condition for every single person (which is a LOT), is there a way to automate via rule set or similar?

Using shortened personal links for an invitation letter

We have a list of clients on file with no email address. We would like to send them a letter with a personal link so they can come online to answer a survey and we know who that person is. I have created the personal links in the system, but the urls are extremely long and unreasonable for anyone to type. Does anyone know how to get the links to be shorter?

Creating additional lists from the main Contact Import Automation list?

I have referenced other articles within the community but not getting the answer that I am looking for. Instead of integrating (via CRM or ADFS) our company employee directory from another source, we would like to have this list stay within Qualtrics where it automates everyday to update our active employees. Are we then able to create additional lists from the main Contact Import Automation list? Our goal is to be able to use the main automation list to create additional lists that will allow us to send surveys to those selected contacts without having to continuously upload new excel spreadsheets with our employee contact list. All of the research said that it wasn't possible but wanted to get feedback from others who have implemented this. Thanks in advance!

List Specific Deduping

Hi all, quick question about making changes to the XM Directory. We have a few different contact lists in our Directory that we update in order to set up automatic surveys (e.g. Customer Contact, New Customer). Due to limitations with our CRM, I go through and upload an Excel spreadsheet for these various surveys myself to the different lists within our Directory 1x a week. Right now we have no deduping, contact rules or anything for our overall Directory. We are thinking that for a couple of our surveys it may be beneficial to add some rules but we wouldn't want these to apply broadly necessarily. I see that there is a way to create custom (list/survey specific) rules as far as contact frequency, but don't see anything for deduping. Does anyone know a way to accomplish this - either with an option I'm missing or any kind of workarounds you've seen/done?

Column Naming Conventions and Overhaul Checklists?

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone has any tips or input on best practices when naming column in DirectoryIQ. I noticed Qualtrics defaults to camel casing for things like "FirstName" or "LastName" but I was thinking of doing something like SQL naming convention for better future migration just in case. Something like "first_name". In addition, I have a Directory with a Project that triggers multiple columns into the Directory, however most, if not all of the column names are poorly named with bad practices. i.e.) "First Name" Therefore I was thinking of doing an overhaul of all of the column names in the Directory AND the specific Project. Off the top of my mind, I know I'll have to change Triggers, Survey Flows, and of course, Attribute names in Directory, but what I was to ask is if anyone can think of anything else that might mess up during my Column Name overhaul that I might've missed? Or if anyone has done something similar, I'd love some tips and tricks!

Sampling inside an automation

Hello, I'm new to XM Directory and I have the following issue: suppose a client uploads a file daily to an FTP server with people to whom I have to send a survey. To do this, I have to do 2 automations: one to upload the file to a contact list, and another automation "concatenated" to that previous automation that takes those contacts and sends the survey. Suppose that before sending the survey, I want to do a random sampling of those new contacts. Is there a way to do that inside the automation? All I can see is an option that says "Which contacts receive a survey invitation?", which allows me to filter contacts with some criteria, but not to perform a sampling. Another option is to upload the contacts, then manually perform the sampling on the list, and then send the survey to the sample, but that would make the automation almost useless, because it would involve manual work every day.

Moving deployed lists

I have a shared directory which I place weekly lists into and create a sample (which appears as 2 files are in directory). Another user deploys the survey using a list from the shared directory. The interface for this shared user makes finding the newest file difficult. Basically, I want to only have the latest files available for selection in the shared directory. I've tried creating a new folder and dragging the files (there isn't a move option in file menu despite me creating them), but the original still appears in shared directory. I don't want to lose my contact list history or surveys in any way. Any ideas? Do I need to change the workflow somehow?

Emailing new contacts when added to a directory

We have a project coming up where a survey will be sent out to a list of contacts that we have stored in the directory, but the list will continue to grow after we send out the first survey. What is the best way to send that survey to NEW contacts when they are added to that same listing?

iQ Directory: Exclude survey from all rules

So I know that you can exclude rules from a survey but how about the other way around? We created an inline pulse survey for one of our newsletters and we don't want it to 'count' as one of the surveys. For example, there are transactional and relationship surveys that go out but have a 90 day rule. We don't want the pulse survey to reset the 90-day clock on either of those, since it went to almost the whole database and wasn't something that will create survey fatigue. Any ideas on how to do this?

It looks like SMS surveys are the poor cousin in iQ Directory. What plans are there to include better distribution reporting, over-survey rules and response rate reporting for interactive SMS and SMS-to-web surveys?

How to store in English in iQ Directory the answers from a survey in different languages?

Dear Qualtrics Community, I am currently setting up a panel in Germany and France. I use the same registration survey with 2 languages (German and French). I created Contact List Triggers on the fields that I want to store in iQ Directory: e.g. Gender. My issue is that the answers are stored in German and French (as the answers displayed in the survey and seen by respondents). e.g. Participant 1 = Gender = Frau | Country = DE Participant 2 = Gender = Femme | Country = FR How can I proceed so that the answers are stored in English iQ Directory (and not in German and French)? I tried to change the variable names in English, this works for the survey answers stored in Reports, but not for the iQ Directory. Many thanks for your support, Anna

Add a field in iQ Directory based on survey completion when no question in the survey

Dear Qualtrics Community, I'm setting up a double opt-in process for emails in my panel. The process is as below: 1. Participants take the registration survey. Their fields (e.g. first name, email address, language...) are stored in a Contact List when they submitt the survey. 2. When being added to this Contact list, they immediately receive an email (using the Message Trigger feature). 3. In this email, there is a link to another Qualtrics survey, where ideally they have nothing to do. The goal is that just by clicking on the link they confirm the email address provided in the registration survey. To make this happen, I set up in the Survey Flow an End Of Survey message - there is no question in the survey = no action required from the participant. Only clicking on the link make them being double opted-in. 4. However, I want to add a field in my Contact List "Double Opt-In = Yes" for people who open (and hence finish) this survey. Participants who complete the survey should be Doub

Create a semi-static score widget?

We use surveys for tests and audits. We use the gauge chart for total average scores. Is there a way I can duplicate this widget, or use another type, to lock the YTD average score? Seems every time I click on a particular month, my YTD changes to just that month's average rather than being able to compare the 2 widgets. Lot of back and forth if I can't lock it. Of course, it will have to pull in succeeding months as well as they are pulled into the dashboard so it will not be completely static.

How can I make sure that bounce-backs don't continue to get new emails? Unsubscribing bounce backs?

Whenever I send out a mailing, the same group of people continue to get bounce backs. How can I prevent them from appearing in my mailing when I'm sending an email to my directory. Additionally, how can I "unsubscribe" them from appearing in my directory.

Using a Web Service or API with iQ Directory

Has anyone used a web service or API function with iQ Directory? I have a Qualtrics survey that contains a series of personal links to other surveys. I am wondering if it is possible to set up a web service to go to the iQ directory to "get" whether a student has completed a specific survey to "update" the portal to indicate that the student completed the survey. Example Portal page * Personal link to Survey A * Personal link to Survey B * Personal link to Survey C _____________________________ You have completed the following surveys: * Survey C (we want to see if a web call or API function that can go to the Student History of iQ Directory to update the completion on another Qualtrics survey page, in this case the Portal page)

Contact list triggers not "firing" - anyone else having this issue?

I've used them. I've loved them. I've also used URLs with passing data on them. But now neither seem to be working properly. My URL is failing (may be a separate issue) - still investigating why. But the contact list trigger not sending data into the contact list has me baffled! I ensured that a valid email address is being passed in. So, I'm lost as to why it's not populating the contact list on completion (yes, I made sure the form was completed). Any ideas? Anyone else experiencing problems?

If I anonymize responses in Survey Options, will I know who took the survey over in Target Audience?

I have a survey asking what might be considered more personal information so I want to anonymize the responses so panel members feel more comfortable taking the survey. I'm wondering if the reminder will still be smart (sent to those who haven't taken the survey) and if their response history will still be recorded as completed in Target Audience? I realize I can't tie their data to their email, but will I know who (based on email address) completed the survey? Thank you in advance!

I can't access my csv data download in excel; what should i do?

in downloading my data as a csv file, when i try to open the downloaded file in excel, it states it couldn't find the file and it may be moved, renamed or deleted. This is strange as i followed the same procedure many times to open it successfully until this block.

Hello, I am going to be launching a screener soon to collect internal respondents. I was wondering if you all had some best practices to share for successful panel management. Below are a few that I have come across, please share more! 1. Set up embedded data fields that you want to track 2. Set up a contact trigger list 3. Add recipentID as an embedded datafield 4. For each survey that I sent to panel respondents, add embedded datafield "surveyresponsenumber"=$e{ e://Field/ScreenerComplete + 1 }" to keep track of how many survey the respondent has responded to.
