How can I have several questions in a a Simple Bar Chart and their breakdown, if it is text?

I have a Group Field with several variables from which the customer had to evaluate our business. The options are not ratings (1 to 5). So in that case how can I see the breakedown (of the answers) within the same graphic for each variable (ex. Innovation, customer focus etc).

Publishing multiple surveys - anonymous and individual links - also urls

Hello, I am about to release a set of surveys for the first time and it looks as though it would be best to publish the surveys. However I want the first survey to have an anonymous link. When the participant responds I then create a contact list and send out a link via email to the follow on survey using the distributions tab and the contact list (i.e. the participant gets a one time only, individual link for the second survey). All of this works when I am in test mode but it is not clear to me if it will work if I publish the surveys and I can't check that out without publishing! Can anyone tell me if this will still be okay? Also I would prefer to shorten my anonymous link to something meaningful - any recommendations for the best shortening service? Thanks, Uma

Linking respondent answers to underlying data

Hello! I'm new to Qualtrics and working on a survey that collects respondent information and then displays data based on this content back to the respondent. For example, I'll first ask respondents for their state and county information (which they'll enter from a drop down list), and then match their inputs to an underlying dataset that can display data that is specific to their state and county (i.e. by telling them what their county spends on education). I know that I need a contact list with the state, county, and spending data, but I'm having trouble getting Qualtrics to match responses to a dropdown menu for state & county to the spending data from the contact list. I tried setting the embedded data from the contact list equal to the question responses for state and county, but it doesn't seem to be linking these responses together. Is there a specific order for the embedded data & survey logic, or is there something specific that I need to do in preview mode to make this work

Longitudinal research

Hello everyone! I'm looking forward to your help .. I'm conducting an experimental, longitudinal study with random assignment. I would like both groups (control group and trial group) to respond to a questionnaire at three different time points. In addition, I would like the experiment group, before receiving the link to the questionnaire at the second time point, to hear a sound section and receive a link to it every day until the second measurement. Respondents Forwarding Links to Survey

Hi all, I am conducting a survey with individual links. However, we are also interested in having respondents forward the survey along to others. What happens if they forward our original email with their personal link? Is there a best practice for mixing anonymous links and individual links? Much appreciated, Ari

Multiple Table of Contents?

Hi All, I've several nested groups of blocks and branches to be able to go back to the beginning of the survey when people select a certain option at the final question. I've also included a TOC for them to be able to navigate to a certain section. The problem is that due to the nested groups, the TOC gets duplicated many times. I've tried to keep the TOC out of the first group, but that didn't work. Any ideas? See screenshots below. ! !

Custom Validation for Drag and Drop/Rank Question

Is there a way to set up custom validation for a drag and drop/rank question in order to prevent participants from advancing to the next question unless they at least click on each item in the list once? I have about 20 items in my list.

How to submit data from external page to existing Qualtrics survey?

Hi there. We have a feature on our website for which I'd like to gather responses, right alongside the feature, and send the responses to an existing Qualtrics survey. I figure it comes down to one of these options (please let me know if there's another way): * build a custom frontend form, and submit answers to the Qualtrics API via JavaScript * somehow embed the Qualtrics survey as an iframe (?) Either is OK with me in concept, but I don't know how to proceed. I'd appreciate any pointers or help!

Can you match randomization at two different points in a survey?

I have four scenarios (A, B, C, and D) that participants will read and then answer some questions on. All four scenarios have the same amount of questions. At two different points in the survey I would like to present a scenario and half of its questions (e.g. A.1) and at another point of the survey I would like to present the others (A.2). I would like a random presentation of the initial scenario/items so that a participants will get a random order (e.g. D.1, B.1, A.1, C.1). However, in the second set of scenarios/items, I would like this to match the random presentation order of the first items (e.g. D.2, B.2, A.2, C.2). Is this possible?

How to export response selection order for a matrix question?

I have a few matrix questions where participants could select multiple answers (I have already collected my responses). I would like to view the order in which they selected their responses in my data export. Is there a way to do this using custom code? I was thinking it might be possible by using custom embedded data in the survey flow. I have included a screenshot of the matrix question. !

How to use randomization and routing/display logic in the same block??

Hello: I have one block with two questions. The questions are randomized so that half of respondents see one question and the other half sees the second question. For the respondents who see the first question, if they respond "a great deal" or "a lot", I would like them to be routed to the second question in the block. I cannot get the two logic forms to work together. When I preview either the questions do not randomize, the display logic does not work, or the entire block is skipped. I have also tried using skip logic without any luck. I have been told this can be done within the same block and I ideally like to keep it that way. Please let me know if you can help!

Remove or reduce white space between Next button Powered by Qualtrics logo

The main issue I'm facing is reducing the white space directly below the blue next button and Qualtrics logo. If you are using pop-up, slider or any other creative that sits on top of the screen, the user is forced to scroll to find the next button to advance to the next block of questions or I have to make a creative so large it covers half the screen to eliminate the scroll bar. In my case I have the standard NPS question pairing separated into blocks. I've found info to clean up most of the white space issues except the one I'm describing here. Thanks...

Custom CSS to add text between answer choices?

Hello, Qualtrics Support suggested I ask for help here. We are using Qualtrics to do a sports movie "bracket" for the undergrads at our university. We have 32 single selection questions that present two answer choices each, horizontally, using the graphic of the movie cover (see image). We really want the word "versus" to appear between the two selection choices and were told we would need custom CSS to do it. Can anyone help? I'm not sure if the easiest thing is to add a third horizontal answer choice and somehow make it unselectable but with the word "versus," or to perhaps find a way to insert something between the two answer choices with the word "versus"? Hoping this is easy and some pro out there can tell us how! !

How can I validate weight in increments of 5?

I'd like to get a user to enter their weight but only in 5 lb increments. Is there a way to set up the custom validation for this? Alternatively, is there a way of taking this data and processing it in a way automatically that rounds it to the closest fifth? Thanks!

Qualtrics Opt Out Link

Is there anyway to send a survey without the Qualtrics Opt Out Link. Our company has come up with Opt Out Link for all communication. Thus it is confusing to have 2 Opt Out Links in our email invites.

What is the best way to input and validate height?

I'd like survey a user's height. Currently, it's in two separate text entries for feet and inches which has its own custom validation. Is there a cleaner way of doing this than using two separate text boxes and a custom validation? Thanks!

Why are my scale points reordering in a drop down?

In a drop-down profile matrix question I need to display the alphabet. However, even though the scale points are alphabetised in the correct order, they are being reordered in the survey. So, essentially, my alphabet is no longer alphabetised. Can someone explain this to me and whether there is a fix? Thanks! !!

Does anyone have experience in customizing a table in an email trigger on a survey?

We have one setup but the columns self-adjust based on piped values. We want static column width on all columns. I would think I could define the widths in the source code but the only line I saw was: <table border="1" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" style="width:500px;"> I guess the "px" confuses me as I generally think of that as related to font size.

Is there a way to extract questions (and correct answers) in Qualtrics in a spreadsheet format?

I have an instructor who uses Qualtrics more like a test rather than a survey. She sets up correct answers for each question and uses 'Scoring' to assign points to the correct answers. She would like to extract (let say export) all her questions with correct answers to each question in a spreadsheet format (csv). The Data&Analysis and Reports only produce results with participants' data (their responses). She only wants questions and the correct answers. Is there a Qualtrics feature to achieve this?

How to enable automatic scrolling to the end when going back to an unanswered question?

Hi all! I am using the automatic scrolling once the respondent selects an option for a multiple choice question. However, when the person leaves an unanswered question and goes back afterwards to only reply this one, the page does not scroll automatically back to the end. Is there a way to solve this problem?
