Changing color in report resets data settings

Seems kind of funky that when you select a different color in your report settings it resets some of your data settings. For example, I have 4 quarters of data and have to individually reset each to use column totals instead of row totals and then use respondent totals instead of choice totals. When I changed the color in the report settings it reset all of these settings. I get pretty frustrated with the limitations of these online reports :/ Also - is research core the correct category for the surveys? I assumed but seems like an internal name vs. customer facing.

Adjusting responses by page/section

Being a postal website we have certain sections of the site where we get a ton of visitors and therefore a ton of survey responses for our site-wide pop-under customer sat survey (i.e. 9K a month), meanwhile other pages we only get a trickle of responses coming in (i.e. 100 a month). Is there a way to even this out a bit that wouldn't necessarily affect our scoring? The only way I can think of is by setting separate intercepts pointing to the same survey for each of the sections and having their own sample rate dictated. Is there a cleaner/easier way that I'm missing? We're not looking to necessarily have an even rate of distribution but just to lessen the gap a bit. This survey is used for KPI scoring so we are worried anything too drastic might affect our results. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Loop and merge from known data

Hello, I was hoping to get some help with loop and merge. We are conducting a scientific research study, where at baseline we asked participants how many children and adults live in their house, and collected the initials for each of those children and adults and also collected data on each individuals fruit and vegetable consumption. We know the ID number of each participant and have initials for all people in their household. We are now at the mid-point of the study, and want to ask the for each participant and for all the members of their household (as per the data collected at baseline) about their fruit and vegetable consumption. Is it possible to set something like this up (and if so, how to do the loop and merge)? - a drop down list with the ID number for the participants. - based on that ID number, show only the household member initials that are associated with that participant - Based on that ID number, ask 4 questions for each person in their household, by displaying t

Crosstab Export

Having an issue where when I export crosstabs I have created to Excel it is pulling all sorts of extra rows that are not visible on the crosstab I have created online. So where my crosstab online only has the counts and column percentages, when I download it to excel it is pulling in like 5 separate rows for each response option. Has anyone experienced this before? Have a troubleshooting recommendation? Thanks!

How can I fix survey instructions to the top of the page when using the randomise questions feature?

Hello, I am very new to Qualtrics and would appreciate some help. I have 4 blocks of questions and need to randomise the questions within each block. However, I also need to put some instructions at the top of each block as each one is slightly different. I added a descriptive text section to write the instructions in but when I randomise the questions, this is treated as a question and so sometimes the instructions will appear in the middle of the block. How can I fix the instructions to the top and randomise all the questions below it? Many thanks.

Responses not being recorded

I have been using Qualtrics for years now, but this is the first time I have experienced this problem - on one of my surveys, participants' responses are not being recorded. It is showing that only 4 people took the survey, although I know that is impossible (I also took the survey myself from a remote location and responses were not recorded). Why could that be? Is there any way to retrieve this data somehow? Thank you!

Setting up forced default choices

New to the tool. Is there a simple way to default responses in an answer set on Qualtrics. For example, I ask a a MR question and the respondent gives one answer. My next question is "pick best" of the previous answers. I want them to skip over this but still record their logical answer.

capturing Implict responses

I would like to conduct a study to capture customer's implicit responses (where responses occur before 500-600ms) to product names. Does qualtrics have a way to present an image for 600ms? Additionally, I'd like the image to presented later if the customer does not respond in the time allotted. Anyone have experience with this?

Is there a way of generating a report based on each individual's responses?

Hi there, I am wondering whether anyone knows whether it is possible to generate a report based on each individual's responses, rather than the overall response collected by everyone? I am looking to generate a survey to students, which is then sent to each individual tutor. However each tutor should only be able to see their own students responses etc. I hope this makes some sense.

What do 'SPSS Syntax File' and 'Corresponding Data' mean under 'More Options' when exporting data?

I'm looking to export my survey responses, and am going to export to SPSS. Under 'More Options' it lists 'SPSS Syntax File' and 'Corresponding Data' as alternative download options - does anyone know what these mean? I can't seem to find anything on the support pages.

Javascript loading to slow

Hey! I am using javascript to randomize some pictures as part of a multiple choice question. I am not able to use the advanced randomization included in Qualtrics as there are some very specific rules the randomization needs to adhere to. I figured out the javascript part. The only problem is that when the page loads, the question briefly flashed the non-randomized order of pictures before showing the correct randomized version. Is there any way to load the javascript earlier, or to delay the showing of the question so that this flash doesn't happen?

JavaScript font difficulties

Hi all of you coders out there - I'm wondering whether any of you also have difficulties with the JavaScript editor font. Two related issues: first, the font is not monospaced, and second, the cursor often appears in the wrong place (see screencast below). I'm not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this problem. Basically my cursor never lines up with the actual location of the text I'm editing in the JavaScript editor. I never know whether I'm deleting the wrong text until I actually do because the cursor often shows up in the wrong spot. Sometimes the cursor doesn't even line up with any text. Remove extra spacing using Java

I am not very Java-savvy, but I know I can remove the extra space between questions by adding JavaScript to the question. I haven't done it for a while and cannot remember how. The example I am working on is having "blank" question text for a couple of question types below a descriptive text box. I'd like only the answerable parts to be closer to the descriptive text, instead of huge blank spaces between them.

Loop & Merge block - How do I get "Submit" on the last Next Button?

When a survey ends in a Loop & Merge Block, how can I ensure that the very last Next button has the "Submit" text that I want? All other instances of the Next Button should just say "Next".
