Is there any way to use some kind of web service call or other method to have Google Translate translate open-ended responses to a Qualtrics survey question(s) submitted in a language other than English and then add the English translation into that respondent's answer set in Qualtrics, or, less preferable, use an e-mail trigger to send an e-mail containing the translated version of the response to an e-mail address(es)?

On a survey, we're using a slider as a way for the respondent to allocate money between two hypothetical subjects on either end of the slider. I know that in a general question, we can allow the slider to "Show Values" to the respondent so they see what answer they're choosing on it. Because our particular question is an allocation between two subjects, what we'd like is to have that same information displayed, but below the slider and from the perspective of both ends of the slider (so if our slider goes from 0 to 50, and the respondent has dragged the handle on the slider to 37, we'd like the boxes below the slider to show "37" on the left side, and "13" on the right side (50-37, which is what the respondent has allocated to the subject on the other end of the slider by dragging)). I'm assuming that I just want to get the same snippet of code that Qualtrics uses to show the value above the slider that we could see in a regular setting, but just place that value on a different loca

Dear All, I have created a survey using the Rank order type (drag and drop) for all my questions. My problem is that sometimes the order of presentation of the items changes apparently with no reason. Therefore, the items happen to be displayed in a different order. For example, if my items for a question are set in this order: finish, food, water, 1, 3, bear, other, other, other, other, other sometimes these items could be displayed as follows: food, bear, water, 1, 3, finish, other, other, other, other, other At the same time, even if the order of presentation is changed, the items are still ranked in the correct way (see image below). Therefore in my output csv file I get the responses ranked in the correct way. ! The only annoying problem is the order of presentation. Could someone help me with this? Thank you very much in advance, Francesco

Is there anyway to do this within Qualtrics or would you have to use another application?

Hi All, Anyone help on PHP code to get survey responses on json format? Thank you.

Looking over the documentation at https://s.qualtrics.com/WRAPI/QuestionAPI/classes/Qualtrics%20JavaScript%20Question%20API.html#method_getQuestionInfo it is not clear what 'ID' values are being referred to for the arguments in the setChoiceValue method. Below is an example of a side by side question I have and I am trying to 'uncheck' the buttons in the 'Left' column if the 'Disable left side' button is checked (in the first column). ! My javascript looks like this: Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(function() { /*Place your JavaScript here to run when the page is fully displayed*/ this.questionclick = function(event, element){ /* Element ID (element.id) for SBS question type QR~QID1#1~1~2 Where '#' separates the question id from the matrix on the right. The matrix on the right is coded as columnNumber~rowNumber~columnElementOrder */ //for a single answer multiple choice question, the element type will

I have a survey question 'jQuery example' that sets the radio button of another question 'Autoselected from the last question' (screenshot of the form shown below): ! The javascript to select the radio button works fine and looks like this: jQuery( "input[name='QR\\~QID2']:nth(0)" ).prop('checked', true); // auto-selects the 'Yes' option in the 'Autoselected from the last question' question. However I have tried every combination I can think of when trying to deselect the radio button in the next question 'Reset previous question response' (using the click event on this question). I have tried: jQuery( "input[name='QR\\~QID2']" ).prop('checked', false); // does not work jQuery( "input[name='QR\\~QID2']" ).attr('checked', false); // does not work jQuery( "input[name='QR\\~QID2']" ).checked = false; // does not work jQuery( "input[name='QR\\~QID2']:nth(0)" ).prop('checked', false); // does not work Is this because of the way the radio b

This is for a CSAT survey. I have my responses mapping back to the case and the contact record. However, since the survey response is owned by me (I linked the survey project to SF), we are not able to set security in SF on the Survey Response object so that case owners only see the responses for their own case. ie, it cannot be set to private, it has to be read-write all since for example, Case Owner = Tom by Survey Response Owner = me, so if private, Tom cannot see items created by me. What can be done as a workaround to let case owners see the survey responses tied to their case? I created a lookup on the Survey Response object for CaseOwner, but support was not able to give any other guidance about how to populate this back and use it within SF. Another issue this raises for us is when we try to trigger an email to the manager when there is a poor response to a survey, since the owner is me, my manager is the only one who gets emails. I am sure there has to be some sort of

Hi, I'm still new to Qualtrics and testing it for a research project. Is it possible to create a data dictionary in Qualtrics similar to RedCap. Basically a description of all the field (variable) names, field types, possible values, etc. I have tried the below export functionality in Qualtrics but this does not generate the data dictionary ! ! Example of Data Dictionary ! Thanks, Jag

Hello, I was wondering if you know how to customize piped-text responses in Qualtrics so that they appear in uppercase. e.g. if I am asking to provide some initials which I will pipe into questions later, how can I make them always appear in uppercase in the following piped-text questions? Thanks

Is there a way to reset question translation progress? I have an English survey with a Spanish translation added to it (but the translation has not begun). I noticed that in the translation editor (via the Survey/Tools/Translate Survey... option) when I simply click on the text to translate on the Spanish side it automatically changes to progress status even though I have not typed anything different from the English side. I would like to be able to reset the progress so that I remember that this question still needs to be translated.

Hello. I have been trying to send a reminder on an email distribution from April; however, the reminder does not go through and displays a red dot next to it. Any insight to why this is happening? !

How do you run cross-tabs on actual value questions? And how do you add new categories to actual value questions to be used as banner points (e.g., Millennials vs. GenX vs. Boomers)? Also, I need to create Geographic Region groupings from my state drop-down list. Adding groupings (NETS) is generally something I need to do a lot.

Hi Does anybody know how to add survey metadata when doing a crosstabs analysis? I want to be reove unwanted data such as survey previews etc. Best,

I need to run a personality profiling survey and add data to it. I was looking to import an existing survey that has been used successfully in the past and has some validation. Thanks

Hello, why can't I activate more than one project at once? thanks in advance!

Has anyone distributed their survey as an anonymous link embedded in a QR code AND in a Vanity URL? If so, how did you set the survey options for "Save and Continue" and "Partial Completion"? For my survey, there is the possibility that a respondent would want to take the survey several times if they made multiple visits to the location where the printed QR code and survey URL will be positioned. If I select "Save and Continue", if a respondent accesses the survey via the QR code, but does not complete the survey, the next time they access the survey (either to complete the survey they had started by using the Vanity URL or on a subsequent visit to the location they want to take another survey to give new feedback ) it will open to where they left off (unless Partial Completion is set to a day or less). If I don't select "Save and Continue", if a respondent does not complete the survey and accesses it again with the same device, there will be more than one response, possibly for th

I'm using a "Text Entry", "essay" style question to allow users to provide their justification for their proposal. My intent is to allow them to write as many sentences as they feel are necessary - like an essay. However, when i use the piped text function to pass the info to the next survey the formatting does not remain in effect. It all becomes just one long string, no paragraph breaks or bullet points. suggestions? Thanks

I am creating a pre-screener where we are receiving ids in a unique format e.g. vbd155727_hgdsjSGdsuyegwuahs , I want to know if its possible for me to trim vbd155727_ and just send hgdsjSGdsuyegwuahs into my client link at the time of final redirection under a specific variable.

Just want to ask if it is possible to change the default settings in the Report, for instance: 1. In an open-ended question (i.e. comments), is it possible that the default would always have a column for name of who made the comment 2. For a question with 1 to 5 rating, the Metric should always be Mean instead of Choice Count which is the default 3. Default decimal place should always be 1 instead of 2 Is it possible that these settings be applied on a particular division only? I appreciate your comments. Thank you.

I had some Java script that achieved this on an old survey that I cannot access anymore. By inspecting the element, I managed to find this code but it doesn't work in a new survey. I do not know Java script and do not know how to get it to work. Anyone know what's wrong with this code? “>.banner {\\nbackground-color: red;\\npadding: 3px;\\nborder: 5px black;\\nheight:20px;\\nwidth:80px;\\nmargin-left: 775px;\\nposition:fixed;\\ntext-align:center;\\n}\\n<style>\\n<div class=\\”banner\\”><strong>Tme: <span id=\\”time\\”>60</span> <script>\\n started = false;\\n function countdown ()\\n {\\n if (!started)\\n started = true;\\n else\\n {\\n var value = parseInt($(‘time’).

I have a survey where people "rank" a set of items by having them place one (and only one) item into each of the same number of groups (where each group is a different money allocation; so item A gets, say $10, item B gets $9, item C gets $8, etc.). I am then trying to use that ranking in further questions of the survey (where the ranking is which group the item was placed in), but when I use Piped Text from that question, I of course get "1" as the "Rank" for each item, since each item is the only item included in every single group. What I'd like then is to specifically be able to refer to "the item in the group labeled $10", and the "item in the group labeled $9", etc. as piped text. The "Carry Forward" functionality does exactly what I want (by allowing me to carry forward "Selected Items in Group: $10", for example), but it only lets me do that with one of the groups and not all of them. Display Logic also doesn't work since I'm thinking about a ranking, and not just displaying c

Has anyone noticed that some users with narrow screens, particularly iPhone users, leave NPS questions blank? The survey in question is using the Qualtrics XM theme. Currently, about 7.4% of respondents have left our NPS question blank. 50% of those respondents were using an iPhone, and the other half appear to be using very narrow desktop browsers. About 40% of these respondents are college students, so it's fair to say they're a younger demographic who I'd expect to be familiar with navigating mobile websites. Here's what the NPS question looks like on mobile: ! Not all mobile users are experiencing this problem, and when I've tested the survey on multiple devices with the same characteristics I've been able to select a response without issue. Respondents also always answer several questions following NPS, so the problem can't be survey abandonment. I'm assuming that they find the scale to be confusing, and are simply skipping over it. Has anyone else noticed this behavior with N

The documentation is very vague on this. But it says to look for my Data Center on the link when I login to my account. But there is no such a thing. Mine would be "login.qualtrics.com" which is a very generic name and it does not work. Please let me know where I can find the Data Center ID. Thank you;
