All people belonging to the same group should get the same computer generated ID

Good afternoon.For my master thesis, I want school teachers to answer my survey. In my country every school has a specific identification number, e.g. 48593745 or AX4586FG4.I want to know which teachers come from the same school (so they should enter their school identification number) so that I can analyze their data together, as a package. Now, for data protection purposes and to make sure the respondents stay anonymous, I am not allowed to see their school identification number, because that could identify special individuals. E.g. if somebody states he is principal, and obviously every school only has one principal, and I see the school ID, then I could look up who exactly the response came from. Thus, I want qualtrics to generate another number, when the school ID is entered and replace it with the original school ID.Everybody from the same school should be assigned the same generated number by qualtrics. How can I make the final page of the survey display survey results from just that participant?

I am looking for a way to generate reports of individual survey responses and display the results for the participant at the end of the survey as well as have PDF versions sent to an administrator's email. Anyone know if Qualtrics has these capabilities or if anyone has created add-ons for this?

Easy check for evenly presented embedded data.

Hi everyone,For our study we have six conditions, I already used embedded data en made them be presented evenly. Unfortunatly, when people don't complete the survey, the evenly presented might not be true. Since we will need an Anova test at the end, is there an easy way to check how it's trully spread in the completed data? Besides ofcourse just handcounting them, but that is a lot of work and more change to make mistakes yourself as well.I hope anyone has an idea for this. Thanks in advance!

Participants are not equally assigned to random different conditions

Hello,I am currently conducting a pilot study to test if my survey is working correctly. In the survey, participants are assigned to one of four conditions using the following survey flow:However, when I download the data; it shows participants have only been equally divided among three of the four conditions (LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH). None of the participants are divided among the ZERO group. Of the 11 participants so far they have been divided by Qualtrics as following: 4 LOW, 4 MEDIUM, 3 HIGH, and 0 ZERO:How do I change that Qualtrics also divides participants over the ZERO group?With kind regards,

Emails sent through Qualtrics going to spam

Recently (in the past month) we've been experiencing issues with sending emails through our account where the majority of them are going to spam folders, at least for Gmail. We are using a Qualtrics default domain (@qualtrics-research.com). This is resulting in very low survey response rates. Previously, we had been using the qualtrics-research.com domain and sending surveys via email with no spam issues for several months. We've been advised by Qualtrics that setting up our own custom from address will fix the issue but I'm skeptical. Is anyone else experiencing something like this? Have you found a solution?

How to get an even participant distribution with 2x2 between subject design?

As this is my first time using Qualtrics, I have run into a problem I hope someone can help me with. For my research, I will be using a 2x2 between subject design. At the beginning of my survey partcipants will be evenly divided between condition A and B. They will first participate in different questions, but then continue with another block of the same questions. After that, all participants will be evenly divided again between condition 1 and 2, where half of the participants will read a certain paragraph, and the others will not see this paragraph at all. Therefore, I will have 4 conditions: A.1, A.2, B.1, and B.2.I know I can use the randomizer tool to evenly divide between A and B at the beginning, but I am wondering that if use the randomizer tool again later on in the survey for 1 and 2, will I get even distribution between all 4 conditions? If I understand correctly, the whole group will get evenly divided again, and the previous division will not be taken into account.The on

How do I create a custom report, but only show results for quesions that were answered?

Want to avoid showing in my report "(Question was not displayed to the respondent)", as some questions won't be asked for some respondents based on survey flow/logic. The survey will likely have 100 questions, but in reality most respondents will only answer 50 or so, based on their response patterns.Could also be thought of as "display logic" for reporting.Thank you!

Show a student their score compared to others' scores

Hi everyone, I am trying to find a way to show students (while they are doing the survey) their score in relation to other students (anonymised).After each question (or after a question block) I would like to show whether the particular student has done better or worse than 50% of the other students on this question.Is there any way I could do that? I know piped text allows me to show the student's individual score, but I need it to be relative.Thank you so much!Best

Can I make a randomised picture appear a second time (the same picture)?

Hey! I have a survey and I want to present participants with a random picture in block 1 (one out of six pictures is displayed) . However, I want to perform a manipulation check for that SAME PICTURE (that specific one out of six possible) in another block, so the survey needs to show whatever picture was displayed on block 1 again. Carousel multiple statements

Dear community,In my survey I have multiple statements that I would like to havee rated using a Likert-scale. To ensure user-friendliness I want to make use of the carousel format. not authorised to resume session - error message

hello,I am running a survey at the moment with staff using an SSO to authenticate.Over 100 staff have not had an issue but 2 staff keep getting the same error message that I have not found listed anywhere in the Qualtrics support pages. This appeared the first time they have tried to log in to the survey using the link in an email invite. I have checked their data in the contact list, it all seems to match with their log in details. Have also check the 'data and analysis' page, and their is no record of either being 'in progress' or 'recorded' so I cannot delete and force a new response.I did ask one of them if they had cookies disabled, and if they could restart their browser, but this did not seem to solve the issue. Any suggestions?

Retake response with email task is in infinite loop

I have a survey where a student fills out the survey and then the professor gets a retake link to verify and sign at the bottom. I have an action set up that's an email task upon survey submission (NOT survey updated) so that when the student submits the survey, the re-take links gets emailed to the professor.I followed these steps from the documentation, including the action email task, and it all works. https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/data-and-analysis-module/retake-survey-link/However, once the professor retakes the survey and hits submit at the bottom, Qualtrics is counting this as a new survey response and it gets emailed once again to the professor. Hi,We are thinking of using Qualtrics as entry point for new headcount requests. If we do this, we are going to be asking managers to provide sensitive salary request information. We'd like to shield this response information even from "super admins" who have visibility into everything. Is it possible to do this?

Survey Branching on Embedded Data

I'm trying to create a closed sample survey with a version A and B that branch mid-survey based on predetermined groups. I created an email distribution list with an additional column in the file for "Path" to determine whether the respondent's personalized link branches them to version A or B of the survey. When I try to pull this into the survey flow following the instructions on the FAQ page, I'm able to add embedded data and find the "Path" variable, but the dropdown for choosing an entity (i.e. version A vs. B) is empty. Can someone who has set up predetermined survey paths/branching based on a variable in the respondent file advise on how to properly set up embedded data and use it in survey flow?

Multiple choice question: display only one choice, not randomized but following choice order.

Hi everyone, I have a multiple-choice question with 80 different choices. I am displaying participants one of the choices, which I am subsequently assigning to an embedded field. Right now, I am using the question's advanced randomization such that each participant sees one randomly selected choice (evenly sampled). However, rather than randomly selecting one choice, I would like the choice selection to be simply based on choice order, starting with the first choice. For example: choice_00choice_01choice_02...choice_79Participant 1 sees choice_00Participant 2 sees choice_01Participant 3 sees choice_02... Participant 80 sees choice_79 Any ideas as to how this may be accomplished? Thank you!

Auto-populating a response in a side by side question

Hi Qualtrics Community - can anyone help me to improve the participant experience of a survey I'm designing? I've got a side-by-side question that asks participants to estimate the time (in hours and minutes separately) they spent on seven different types of compliance activities (see image below). To enter the hours and minutes, participants can select from a drop-down that also has "Not applicable" as a response option for instances where the participant didn't engage in that compliance activity.The experience I want to create is: when a participant selects "Not applicable" in either the hours or minutes drops down, then "Not applicable" is automatically populated into the corresponding hour or minutes drop down. This would save the participant having to select "Not applicable" in both the hours drop down and the minutes drop down. Does anyone have suggestions for how this can be done? I'm a newbie to Qualtrics and not at all experienced with JavaScript coding, so if you have a

Sharing Survey Links

HelloI want to be able to have a unique URL link that a user can start to fill out and then forward to another user to complete and the data that was entered will be saved. I am using the anonymous link, then adding a "?" at the end of the URL followed by the Customer Name to make the link unique. Checking numbers entered in form add to 100%

I really hope someone can help me as I have spent several hours scanning the Support Site for an answer without any luck. I have a question that asks participants to allocate a total amount of time they had spent on a compliance task, across different types of internal personnel (see image below). Participants are asked to enter numbers in the text box without a % sign.I need to find a way of making sure the participants answers add up to exactly 100% before moving on to the next question, and giving them a customised message if this isn't the case. Any suggestions for achieving this need to be pretty exhaustive, as I'm a Qualtrics novice and not familiar with coding JavaScript.

Change piped text

Hello Qualtrics Experts, I want to use piped text to refer back to a previous answer given by a respondent, the only difference is I want to change the values of the piped text: ${q://QID16/ChoiceGroup/SelectedChoices} which can be "Low", "Medium" or "High", and I want to change them in "Answer 1", "Answer 2", "Answer 3" (in the same order) in this question. Is there a way to do this? I tried to recode the answers, but this causes the answers to be recoded everywhere in the survey. With kind regards, Mike

How to add more surveys to a shared project?

I am new to qualtrics and hence this question. I have been working on a shared project and have created my first survey. However, I wish to add more surveys to the same project (two conditions of an experimental study - high and low). I am unsure how to do this. I tried copying the survey in the shared project and using that because I just need to change a few statements in this new survey. Unfortunately, this new (copied) survey opens in my free account and not in the shared (premium) account that my collaborator has. My free account does not let me make similar changes as that in the shared (premium) one. Also, I need to make sure that all my surveys are in the shared project so that we can share them at once with our respondents, when the time comes.Thank you !

Using autocomplete with a multiple choice question

We have a number of questions that are structured as multiple choice with an "Other" open text box. We would like to add a list of autocomplete options for the most popular "Other" choices to help normalize the data we're collecting. We have access to Qualtrics' Autocomplete functionality in the Text Entry question type, but I don't see a way to add it to the Text Entry boxes in Multiple Choice questions. Am I missing something?
