Question branching to multiple qualtrics projects

Is it possible to design a survey with 1 question where the choices of the question re-directs participants to a different Qualtrics survey to complete? and the re-directed survey will record their responses on the individual project on Qualtrics and not the initial screening survey?

Searching through a Directory before entering a survey

Hey Everyone, I am wondering if this is possible... But I want to be able to ask an email in the first question of my survey and then search that email address in a Directory and depending on the result either terminate or allow to continue with the original survey. Also if the email is not in the directory I would like it added. Is any / all of this possible? Thanks Mark

Pipe only 2 random Selections into Scale Points

I have a multi-select question asking respondents what companies they work with. Below that, I want to ask a follow up on 3 of their selections - 2 randomly chosen from their selections and our company any time it is chosen. I started creating embedded data fields to store the data from the first question into fields called Company1, Company2, etc. Then, I could set up randomization on the embedded fields to only choose 2. I just don't know how to ensure that it only chooses from the actual selections.I'm thinking I'm going to need to do this all in code instead of using the randomization tool but I am definitely not JS savvy enough to write this code in the short amount of time that I have for this assignment. Any ideas?

Applying default color pallet to graph bar selection?

Hi all; I selected and set the global custom palette to range from Red to Green. The default graph(s) look like this: I want the bars color coded; So far, I haven't learned a way to apply the Red-Yellow-Green to a response count graph by default, so I'm adjusting each bar's color on each graph manually But when I click on any of those 5 red squares to adjust the color, I don't get my custom palette - I get some type of default palette and I either have to live with those color options, manually find a color that is 'close enough', or type in the hex(?) for the desired color so all graphs are the same. Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to show the custom palette when I'm trying to change these bar colors?Or better, is there some way to set this more globally so I'm not changing each bar on each graph (on each report)?Thank you!!

Adding an identifier for media files

Hi everyone,I am designing a survey that has multiple media files which is followed by questions and I am looking for a way to be able to identify which media file the participant is responding to in the exported data. Is there a way to add a hidden code will come up in the exported spreadsheet?Hopefully that makes sense!

How can I get an answer choice from a long list on a page to inform what is shown on a second page?

Simple, yet surprisingly stumping problem: I have a survey where participants select from a list of names in the form of “Title FirstName LastName” (e.g., Mr. John Doe). After their selection, I want the next page to show that data in the form of “Title LastName” (e.g., Mr. Doe). My normal method: set embedded data that assigns the second value (Mr. Doe) to a variable once the person selects the first value (Mr. John Doe), and then pipe through that embedded data to the second screen. Issues: There are a large number of names (328), which would make setting the embedded data for each choice a long process--and could Qualtrics even handle it?? The two pages are in the same block, so the embedded data cannot be set after the first page and before the second page--the second directly follows the first. I can’t move the pages out of the same block, because that block is a loop and merge. So, in sum: I have two pages, where I want the name chosen on the first page to be piped into the secon

Are there errors in my javascript?

I’d like to calculate the difference between two dates: the current date, and the date of an upcoming appointment. I want the difference in days to be set as embedded data. So in the Survey Flow, I created the "Days" embedded data field and applied the following javascript to the survey question that collects the upcoming appointment date (QID190). However, the "Days" column is not populating when I run preview tests. Can you help me identify my error(s)?

Can't delete project (survey)

Hi all- new to Qualtrics; I've created some test surveys to understand how the platform works.I'm a few weeks in, and wanted to clean up my projects list. It appears I can't delete some surveys I created. I did some additional checking, and it appears I can't delete any that are of type 'Survey' but I can delete those of type 'Engagement'. Has anyone run into this before, and what is the root cause? Thank you!

Reminder emails and Multiple Completes

Can anyone help me with the following survey scenario:I am surveying grad students and their research advisors. I created similar surveys - one for grad students and one for advisors. The grad student would fill the survey out about their relationship with their research advisor and the advisor would fill it out on their relationship with the grad student. I think the easiest way to send out this survey is to create a contact list that would include grad student names and email addresses. I would then send an email via Qualtrics to the grad students to complete the grad student survey. I would set up a few reminders for them to fill this out. In the survey, they would provide the name and email address of their research advisor.I'd like the completed survey response to trigger an email to their research advisor to fill out the advisor survey for the grad student who just completed the grad student survey version. Because research advisors can have multiple students, I'd like for them t

Condition on survey duration

Hi, I only want the trigger to sent the e-mail only if the duration is larger than a certain threshold. Unfortunately this does not work, see below: I did manage to sent the duration time in the e-mail as you can see in the last sentence of the e-mail, so the embedded data works.I hope someone can help, Dante

Action to Email multiple users based on a CX Role

Hi All, I'd like to refer to a list of email addresses listed in a normal CX Role of a dashboard . The purpose is to minimise the amount of admin time required to maintain both lists Role lists and the email list. Also, CX Roles have automated enrolment. What options do I have to do this? For example, my roles are labelled GE_AL, GE_BD where AL and BD can come from the Survey that the responder answers. I understand that the Email Task To field requires individual names or piped text so I'm guessing that the piped text could consist of multiple names? If that is the case is this more of an API question (hope not!)? Is there an API code to retrieve the list of emails in a CX Role and does it sound feasible to save them into a variable that can be used in an email task? I've had a look through the API but not found anything but I don't really know if I've been looking in the right place. Hope someone can help Thanks Rod Pestell

Hi there,I am currently attempting to design a self-referential encoding task ( see Derry & Kuiper, 1981) within Qualtrics so that participants can complete some questionnaires and the task on one platform. To quickly explain, there are 25 positive and 25 negative adjectives. Words are presented in groups of 5. Participants are either asked whether each of these words describes them after each word or whether the word is upper case or lower case (these are the 2 conditions). Ultimately, I have been able to randomize the words as capital or non-capital. I have also been able to randomize the word order within each group of 5. The issue I am running into is that the there should not be more than two blocks of the same condition in a row. How would I ensure this? Thank you.

Inputting formula into Qualtrics for calculating total funding?

I have 1 project that includes programs of 2 types (type1 and type2). The project gets funded a base amount (regardless of type1, type2, or both). Depending on total number of participants and the type, an additional sum of money is awarded to the project on top of the base amount. Type1 programs receive more funding per participant group than Type2. For example:base amount: $10000Type1 participant funding:5-10 receive $500011-19 receive $700020-29 receive $9000Type2 participant funding:5-10 receive $300011-19 receive $500020-29 receive $7000Let's say the project has 9 Type1 participants and 12 Type2 participants. The formula should be:$10,000 (base amount) + $5,000 (5-10 Type1 category) + $5,000 (11-19 Type2 category) = $20,000 (total funding)Is is possible to do this in Qualtrics? I have the totals of each category calculated through the "constant sum" feature but can't seem to figure out how to apply the funding scheme...newbie and thank you!

Unique Identifiers Across Multiple Surveys

Hello,I'm conducting an online experiment and embedded multiple Qualtrics surveys in an online authoring tool. This was done through iFrames. The tool leads people through various stages, so when they progress and are exposed to new information, then they complete the surveys.Because data collection is anonymous and the individual surveys won't recognise past completion (as each survey is set up individually and come at various stages), how could I best setup unique identifiers? Query strings don't seem to be an option as the survey links won't be mailed out. I'm thinking about IP addresses or having participants enter their own identifier, but ideally I've something automated behind the scenes.Any thoughts I'd greatly appreciate it!

Anonymously getting mailing list from a question in survey.

Hello!I would like my last question in the survey to be a simple box, when respondents can put their e-mails to take part in the lottery. I already know, how to do that. The problem is - is there a possibility to split the answers in the survey from e-mails? I would like this survey to be anonymous, and that's impossible, when I will get responses and e-mail from the same respondent to the same database. The perfect solution would be, if e-mails gathered from the last question was saved in another database. If that's not possible - maybe you have some ideas how to do it? :) Im counting on you guys!Have a great day!

Submitting Answers with Table of Contents

For our mentor program, we have monthly checklists of items that need to be covered by the mentor with the mentee. Rather than creating an individual survey for each month, I'm utilizing blocks and the table of contents feature to show each month, plus mid-year and end-of-year surveys. The problem I'm running into is that we would like to track what mentors have completed their checklists for each month, but there doesn't appear to be a way to submit each month's completed checklist. Looking for advice/suggestions. Thank you!

Email respondant copy of personalised results

Hi!I've been building a self-assessment tool for my organisation that asks users to rate their confidence in a number of areas, and then uses display logic based on their responses to output a page identifying their strengths (as text/graphic question types), and a page recommending training resources to address their weaknesses (also as text/graphic question types). I'd like to know if there is a way to pipe their personalised strengths and recommendations into an email that will be sent to them? In a previous version of the tool, respondants were sent an email upon completion with a link that allowed them to return to the survey and view their personalised results that way, but I was hoping it would be possible to include them directly in an email. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

Rounding score values

Hi,I set the scoring of my survey to 4 decimal places but I want to show it to the respondents with only two. I pipped a "Scoring" field like Scoring = ${gr://SC_6RnRMbQCfDhfKyV/Score} , and, of course, it shows me the 4 decimal places. I tried $e{round(gr://SC_06314PNp2z23wah/Score)} $e{round(gr://SC_06314PNp2z23wah/Score,2)} but it doesn't seem to work.Can you help me with this?
