Survey Platform

Hello, I am trying to get a matrix table to autofill based on the number of trips selected in a previous question. I set the previous question to numeric values with a range criterion (0-82 is the range option, so 82 trips are the maximum you can report). I then had each trip number on the next matrix table have display logic where it says if the previous question is less than or equal to 1, it will show trip 1. It is the same for trip 2, 3, 4 and so on until trip 82. However, it is not displaying correctly with this display logic. If I go through and say I took 6 trips, the table displays trip 6 and upwards (7-82) when it needs to do the opposite (trips 1-6). What am I doing wrong? I’ve set the previous question to numeric and they are in different blocks. Thanks!  

I set the scoring on Qualtrics before the survey went live and we have received many responses. However, we have now decided to change our scoring. I’ve edited the survey to set the correct scoring values, and republished the survey. However when I export the data, it is still exporting it using the old scoring. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Do I just need to wait a while before exporting the data again or will the new scoring only apply to survey responses recorded after I edited the scoring?

I have a slider question where I need the numbers from statements 1, 2, and 3 to total 100.IE respondent A count answer 1=50, 2=50, 3=0. respondent B could be 1=20, 2=40, 3=40, etc...I see that I can set min and max per statement, but I need the max to bee for ALL of the statement scores combined.Also how would I do this same thing where they must total 100 on a form field? 

I am new to Qualtrics and have a relatively complex longitudinal survey. I believe I have identified the necessary steps for this to run smoothly, but I am looking for confirmation the steps I have outlined below are the best route to take and have a few specific questions. Some details as to the study design:Three measures The first measure of the survey will be distributed via an anonymous link through newsletters, on social media, on websites etc. Participants will provide their email address in the first measure to which the second and third measure can be automatically distributed. Participants will provide a date in the first measure which will inform when they should receive the second and third measure (second measure at the end of the day on the date they have provided and third measure three months after that date). So the follow up date is personal to each participant. Participants will provide the name of a location in the first measure that I would like to display to them

Can anyone explain why my questions appear in some cells but not in others? I’ve attached screenshots for reference.Also, does anyone know why there are "#" added at the end of my question labels when I didn’t include them? When I check my survey and click on the box with my question numbers, those "#" don’t show up.

Hi all,I am doing an online study with 2 main groups (those who either answer 1 or 4) in a rank order question. However, there would be four videos that correspond to each of the four items in the rank order question. For example: Please rank these four brands from best to worst (1-4). Each option has a video that corresponds to it that I would like them to watch. However, I would like to randomize half of the participants to watch the video that corresponds to their top brand choice (1) and half of the participants to their last brand choice (4). How would I go about this? Thanks!

I am using Qualtrics’s Highlight Question for a proofreading task which allows respondents to select errors in a sample of text. I have one category called “Click here to mark the error.” Here is an example: When I export this data to CSV, the respondents’ answers are long strings of numbers separated by commas. For example, my response looks something like this within a single cell of a CSV file under column “Proofread_1”:  “1594,1607,1611,1619,1621,1625,1629,1637,1641,1646,1649” (quotations added by me).My question is: How can I convert these numbers into scores indicating how many errors were identified correctly within Qualtrics?If it’s not possible to create a sum score of correctly identified errors in Qualtrics, it would be helpful to export the data in a different format, perhaps by separating responses for each word into a separate column or coding each response as 1 = correct, 0 = incorrect.Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! I am doing a survey that will assist in budgeting. I want to use the Pick, Group, Rank question to allow people to pick certain items and when certain items are picked have that add length to a single line/bar object below the question. However, this bar needs to have a max value, and the items need to have varying values. Let’s say the items to pick from are ice cream, soda, brownie and cake. I only have $5 to spent so I need to choose from these choices and stay under the max value. The values of the items and the amount I have to spend need to be hidden but will cause the line of bar to grow by a certain amount and max out at a certain length.Let’s say ice cream is 1$, soda is $2, brownies are $3, and cake is $4. So, in theory I could “pick” Ice Cream and Cake and proceed to the next page but if I try to also add a Brownie, I’d get an error message saying I’ve exceeded that maximum amount, and I need to adjust my items before I can continue to the next page. Is this possible in Qual

The recent “upgrades” made to the survey platform removed our ability to download or export survey results directly to a word document. I had to revert to the old dashboard to maintain this function. However, I am concerned that Qualtrics will be phasing out the ability to export to a word document entirely. I spent quite a bit of time with Qualtrics support and my campus IT department, and there is not any workaround that would be sufficient if this feature is permanently disabled. Is anyone else concerned about losing this feature? 

Hello Community,I’m having a block of questions fail to show up in my survey flow no matter what I’ve tried, and despite all other solutions I’ve seen online. This block, the “Ranking question” block, uses a Loop and Merge table, which loops based on a single selection from an earlier hidden multiple choice question. The choice for the hidden question, in turn, is set with a this.setChoiceValueByRecodeValue() function: The console.log() shows the base_row_divided value correctly in the console. This is a single numerical variable corresponding to the recode values in the hidden multiple choice question). Nonetheless, the “Ranking question” block will not show up later in the survey. I have seen lots of export questions but mine is  the opposite. I see in creating workflows I can schedule a check into a Google Drive folder. I’ve tested that and it works great. My work does not allows us to put certain things into Google Drive, however. My need is to do the above, but with a folder in OneDrive. I don’t see this as an option. If it can be done by signing into a Google Drive, it seems like this should be an option as well. Am I just missing it somewhere? 

I have a question for a survey I need to run. After some research I am still not completely sure how to achieve what I have set out to do.Here is what I want to do: I have ~30 (unique) text snippets (reviews). I want to display 3 (randomly chosen) of those 30 and then have the respondents fill out a multi item questionnaire. This should be done in subsequent steps instead of all on one page. Basically following this core logic:     Page 1: Text Snippet 1    Page 2: Questionnaire    Page 3: Text Snippet 2    Page 4: Questionnaire    Page 5: Text Snippet 3    Page 6: Questionnaire   What would be the best way to get this to work? Should I just create a block with 1 text element for each text snippet I have and then use the randomizer in survey flow? Or is there a better way? How can I make sure that not by chance the respondents get the same snippet displayed twice? Is there a way to set up my Qualtrics survey to automatically send follow-up emails to participants for Survey 2 after they complete Survey 1? I understand this may require collecting participant emails, but I am prepared to ensure data collection remains IRB-compliant.

I'm currently experiencing an issue with the piped text values in my Qualtrics survey, specifically related to dynamic responses. The issue arises when participants choose their preferred free music service. Instead of displaying "YouTube Music" (which some participants select), the survey always shows "Spotify (free)" as the value for the "FreeService" field. This problem is occurring in the "Device Switching Reminder" block, specifically in question Q866.I have verified that the question IDs are correct and that the piping setup appears to be configured properly. Despite this, the value being piped is incorrect. After working with Qualtrics Support, they suggested that the issue lies within the custom JavaScript code used in my survey, which seems to be blocking the proper value from being piped in.The support representative tried several debugging steps, including placing the relevant questions side-by-side and modifying the piped text values directly. Hi, A bit of a weird idea, but: I have a group of people take Survey A where they describe a friend and provide their email address. I then set up an email trigger to send that friend Survey B to fill out (I figured out that part just fine). I’m hoping to somehow get a common ID number in both files so I can link them. Right now, I created an embedded data field “ID” in Survey A. I then had the email trigger paste that ID number into the email to a friend with Survey B. Right now, I’m asking that friend to copy the ID number into Survey B before they take it.  However, I’d prefer to make the process smoother (and remove the potential for error). Is there a way for Survey B to automatically grab the embedded ID number from the email that was sent? Ideally, this could be pasted in the data file somewhere. I figured I could maybe try to put an embedded data in Survey B but, alas, that doesn’t seem like the right way to grab a yet-identified embedded data from an email or Survey A to paste

I tried creating a new message for the text that appears in the Next button, and saving it to my library. While the update does apply, it seems to display all the HTML (or whichever programming language?) with the button text. It does this whether I change just the text size (which was my aim) or also update the font as well. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I saw an image in an old post with this same problem from 5 years ago, so I’d guess it’s some sort of persistent Qualtrics issue. It looks like this: 

My survey project is using question blocks that are linked to corresponding library blocks. When I go to set-up the scoring in my survey project, it says that the blocks are "locked" and I'm unable to select any of the questions to include in a score category. Is there a way around this?

I am designing a survey with a large number of nearly identical Likert scale questions. Because it would be arduous to copy in every question, especially because the survey is still in the works and the format may change before final deployment, I wrote a script that turns a spreadsheet with the questions into a .txt file in the format outlined here so that I can import them into the web builder all at once. It seems like the generated file is syntactically valid, and it imports *almost* correctly (the question types, formatting, etc. are correct). However, the question text on all of the imported questions is set to “undefined” rather than the correct text from the imported file, so I would still have to go into each one and copy the question text from my spreadsheet to make the survey useful.There are two things that I think might be responsible, assuming my syntax is correct. First, some of the question text is in Cyrillic (the survey is for a study of Russian language acquisition)

Hi I’m trying to setup dynamic responses based on the users choices throughout my survey.Ai is saying: (after doing some initial testing)Specifically, the value for "FreeService" is showing as "Spotify (free)" instead of "YouTube Music." The expected behavior is for "YouTube Music" to be the value for the "FreeService" option. I've verified that the question IDs (QID559, QID560, QID818, QID830 etc) match the correct questions, but the incorrect value is still being fetched. Maye it’s the piped text values not correctly set up or something else in the survey setup (i spent a lot of time making the different choices), so it’s really hard to understand why it isn’t working.If anyone needs more info about the survey, please let me know :)Luke
