I’ve created a new variable so that I can “bucket” annual revenue into categories to describe the size.  For example - annual revenue of $50,000 is bucketed into a new variable/category labelled <$100K in Revenue.I now want to use that new categorical variable (Labelled:  Revenue Amount Buckets) in my Reports Tab.  I want to create a visual that shows Number of Closed Sales by Revenue Amount Buckets.  I can see the new variable I created in the Crosstabs tab and StatsIQ tab but I don’t see it in Reports.  Is there something I’m supposed to do so I can use the new variable when building my Report?

Hi,Is there a way to automatically answer several questions at the same time e.g. with an option like select all? I have several long tables in which yes or no selection is possible. It is very annoying to have to answer all individual points with Yes or No if all answers are No anyway. Below example of my list.  Thanks-

Hello! I am asking respondents a total of 4 matrixes. In matrix 1 (QID9), there are 5 variables displayed. In matrix 2 and 3, all 5 variables are carried forward to keep statement randomization order. In matrix 4 (QID14), I need to drop the 4th variable as the question doesn’t really apply. However, I’d like to carry forward the other variables and keep randomization order. As the point is to keep randomization order, I cannot use “Advanced Randomization” to hide the 4th variable. Is there anything I can do to hide that variable while keeping order? Instinct tells me Javascript...

Hello, I am trying to create a question to calculate a “Risk Score” based on answers to previous questions. The previous questions contain recode values that are already in Qualtrics. Here is the intended calculation for Risk Score: If the count of the recode values is >= 17, then take the sum of the recode values. Otherwise, return “N/A” to the user. Attached below is what I currently have, but the output always comes out as Risk Score: “N/A” even when it should be returning a value. If anyone could provide any guidance as I am not proficient in Java Script, that would be greatly appreciated! This is also a link to a prior conversation I was having regarding this problem but I am still having some confusion:

I am trying to digitize a learning inventory but I’m struggling on how to adapt it to a qualtrics survey. On the paper format, participants would have the directions to rank a set of four words (going across) and assign a numerical value of 1-4 to them with each word having a different number. The words going across are also set up in a column of words that fit in that category. They would add up numbers going down to get their number for that section to get their learning style. So as a basic example: Step 1: Rank order each set of words going across. Assign a 4 to the word that best fits, a 3 to the next, a 2 to the next, and a 1 that least characterizes you.  __(4)__ involved ___(3)___ tentative ___(2)___ discriminating ___(1)____ practical __(3)__ receptive __(2)___ impartial __(1)____ analytical     ___(4)_____ relevant and so on until item 12              _____  Style 1       _____ Style 2         ____ Style 3            _____Style 4 Step 2: Total the rank numbers you have given t

I added choices to a question and updated the recode values. The values in my dashboard report do not equal the value in the survey. I edited the recode values and republished the survey and that did not resolve the issue. Will someone please let me know how to resolve this?Thank you very much.

Hi,I would like to ask whether it is possible to provide instant feedback such as scoring results for participants or not?Thank you

Hello everyone, I’m trying to build a survey in which respondents’ location is used to generate a match to a supplemental data source for piping data into later questions.  In the first block, respondents enter their zip code.  In the second block, the zip code is used to search the SDS for the appropriate embedded data fields (mayor_incumbent, governor_incumbent, senate_incumbent1, senate_incumbent2).  In the third block a question appears with these embedded fields.  But the embedded data are not appearing in the third block.  I’m pasting a screen shot of the survey flow and questions.  I’d be grateful for any advice! This is the survey flowThis is the questions with the pipingThis is what is actually appearing

Hi I am looking for some guidance on how to incorporate Mobile Messages to be sent after a visit to the hospital as part of a field study for the UN. Specifically, I want to randomise each participant in 1 of 3 conditions and trigger a SMS to their phone after they have come to the hospital for the medication. Thanks for your help. If you have a study readily designed please share the qsf. -Priya

I have a question which has 3 options.  I want to add  timer  for 45 seconds for each question and auto-advance to the next question when the time is up.  Each question is mandatory (force response) but if they don’t answer the question within 45 seconds, I want them to be moved to the next question. I have 5 MCQ questions in a block , all separated by a page break. I also want the questions to stay in the same block as I am scoring the questions in a block. I tried some codes on XM community which used Java script by adding a hidden option (or label the hidden option as no response) but he hidden option keeps showing up and the timer restarts. Any help is appreciated.

So I am trying to allow the live survey results pdf to display in the post message of the survey that has been iframed into the body of a website. So I tried this in the recently and it was working for a few weeks.  Now suddenly I am getting sandbox errors.  When I first set this up I never added the a sandbox attribute.  Now suddenly in all of the survey’s I have the post message is automatically adding in the sandbox attribute in an iframe.Did something change with Qualtrics? Is there a different way I can include the live results graphics from the pdf Qualtrics creates in my post message? Thanks in advance

Hello,My survey responses contain unique images (JPGs) that were uploaded by respondents. Is there a way to download all the images/JPGs at once? I have to share the images with a collaborator who is unfortunately not using Qualtrics. Thank you!

Hi,I’m looking for a way to send SMS to survey responders after a week. There is an in-built way to send follow-up emails, but not SMS. Is there a way to send follow-up SMS, either from within the platform or by sending a webservice request to Twilio?Arka

Hi,I have a web service API call from ChatGPT that returns a string set to a variable. I have prompted ChatGPT to return something like this: (Story ! Question ! Choice1 ! Choice2 ! Choice3)The issue comes in that next I have javascript that modifies this api return variable in the next block. About 30% of the time this works fine, and the other 70% it does not, because ChatGPT responds with a line break of some kind between the story and question:This gives me an unexpected token error when I set the javascript variable to the API return variable and shuts the whole code down, which has prevented me from error proofing the code.I wondered if I could do something in javascript to prevent this, but so far no luck. I have also been throwing a bunch of different prompts at ChatGPT to try to prevent this with no luck. (no formatting, no HTML formatting, single line of plain text, no newline characters, no page breaks, entire response in 1 paragraph). Let me know what’s possible, I apprecia

I have defined an ebedded data random number at the beginning of the survey flow as:After the questions block, I use the following code to generate a value that is equal to their  numeric answer at QID28 + a random share of this value:$e{ q://QID28/SelectedChoicesRecode + ((e://Field/Random_Number / 100) * q://QID28/SelectedChoicesRecode) }But I get ‘Inavlid expression’. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks

Is there a way to display a survey only at specific times of day. E.g. only Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm?

How can I completely remove the "Back" and "Next" buttons in Qualtrics? I have auto-advance set up for the first part of my survey, where images are displayed for 3 seconds each, and I’m concerned that the buttons are distracting. In the second half of the survey, participants make a selection, and the survey auto-advances after they answer, so the buttons remain unnecessary and distracting throughout.I’ve added JavaScript to hide the buttons (Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function() {this.hideNextButton();this.hidePreviousButton();});) but the buttons reappear just before advancing to the next question. How can I prevent this from happening?

I am trying to add a validation where I verify that the mean of the distribution provided by the participant in a constant sum question is equal to an embedded data field. I managed to get the validation to work and display a message if the provided distribution does not match the desired average; however, I am struggling to get the survey to stop proceeding to the next page if the validation fails. Here is the code I have so far: Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnPageSubmit(function(type) { if (type == "next") { // Only run this if the user clicks "Next" // Define the required value from the embedded data var requiredStars = parseFloat(Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.getEmbeddedData("stars")); // Fetch values from input fields (assuming there are 5 fields) var questionId = this.getQuestionContainer().id; var value1 = parseFloat(jQuery("#" + questionId + " input[type='text']").eq(0).val()) || 0; var value2 = parseFloat(jQuery("#" + questionId + " input[t

Hi,I have a quiz survey with ChatGPT integration. At the start of the quiz I have 5 hard coded questions the user will answer. After these 5 questions, I want to ask if the user would like an additional question or to finish the survey. If they chose additional question, I want to send them through 3 blocks that use the ChatGPT API to create a new question, which I already have set up. Once they complete this question, I want to again ask them if they would like an additional question or to finish the survey. I want this process to repeat as many times as the user wants, and only finishing the survey when they click the “finish survey” option. How can I accomplish this? I am having a hard time understanding if loop & merge can accomplish this.Thank you

Hello - I need to send the same survey to the same person multiple times. The only difference in each is the embedded data for the vendor category. I am using a contact list that identifies the relationship owner (Survey recipient) and the vendor(s) that they own the relationship. The 17 questions are pulling in the Vendor name as embedded data in the contact list. What I can't wrap my head around is how do I distribute up to 20 surveys to the same person based on the vendor they are responsible for. I didn't want to do loop & merge because each survey is 17 questions and the most a person has to complete is 20 so that is A LOT at one time. The thought behind sending emails is to let the respondent complete the surveys as they have time. Below is a screenshot of how I have structured the contact list to add the embedded data to the survey questions. Do I need to create a question for each vendor and set some type of display logic in the survey? Also, how do I compose the email to ensure

Ok so I have three questions all with the same answers: I want to convert the max answer to a percentile, only focusing on the highest answer of those three. Right now I have this: When I do that maxlifpresc is always the value of rxplif even when rxplif is the smallest. Does anyone have any ideas for this -- essentially embedding a new variable that depends on the maximum of the other three?

Ok so I have three questions all with the same answers: I want to convert the max answer to a percentile, only focusing on the highest answer of those three. Right now I have this: So that works correctly. However, then I want to set a new embedded variable equal to the max value of those three. So I did this, but it doesnt work: Does anyone have any ideas for this -- essentially embedding a new variable that depends on the maximum of the other three?

I want to create a questionnaire in Qualtrics containing a number of blocks (1 block for each of the domains). The participant should be able to choose the order in which he answers the different blocks (domains) or maybe answer only 2 of x domains. When he is finished with the questions for that domain he should get the possibility to answer the questions for one of the other domains. Or if he doesn't want to answer anymore domains, end the survey. How can I do this best in Qualtrics? Thanks in advance and best regards,Marc.

I no longer see the option to share a public report in the settings of the Results tab… it’s a very helpful option for sharing results live with stakeholders. What happened to it?!

The old Results tab allowed you to save and name results reports, and if you copied a survey those named reports would be present in the copy. With the new Results tab you can create a Results Dashboard, but when you copy the survey that dashboard is not present in the copy. It would have to be recreated. Please add feature such that either the dashboard comes along with the survey copy, or ability to export it to a file and import into another survey (similar to the Advanced Reports .qrf functionality).
