Hello there everyone!I have a question regarding initializing a variable for an experiment I’m currently building. In general, I’m going to build a trust game where the participant will be the investor and will invest an amount of money in a trustee. The trustee will make the investment grow at an y% rate. After the participant makes their choice of how much to invest, I will want to show them their invested amount, and the amount over the investment they made with the y% growth.Is there a way to make this with qualtrics?  Thank you ahead! 

Q42 is a hidden question where used display logic “preview”. Here i captured data from embedded field. This Q42 is used for loop. The problem is, Q42 and loop works correctly in Draft but didn’t work in live/Published and we donot have any real respondent data.

I would like to do the following with questions Q10 and Q11 (screenshot below): Step 1. Randomize the order of the 1st 7 response options (the brands) while anchoring the last 2 response options (which are both “exclusive” response options). This Step can be done using advanced randomization.  Step 2. Carry over the randomized order of the 1st 7 response options (the brands) in Q10 to Q11 (i.e., the randomized order of brands in Q11 must appear in the same randomized order as they appeared in Q10) while, at the same time, anchoring the last 2 response options (which both must still be “exclusive” response options). Step 2 cannot be done using “carry forward choices” because the “advanced randomization” from Q10 cannot be carried over to Q11.  Question 1: How can I accomplish Step 2? What is the simple

I  may be missing something, but I can’t seem to get this to work.  I have simple survey where I want diferent questions to show up depending on other two other selections.Question 1 has five choices.Question 2 had three choices.There is a different block that needs to display for each choice in question one.  Then, depending on the answer to question two, one out of two blocks need to be displayed.  One for option one and two and another for option three.  No matter what I do, I can only get one of the second blocks to display no matter what the answer in question two is.  I feel like I’m missing something important.  Maybe someone out there can help? 

Hi All. I have some large essay response fields that need to save to a panel via a workflow trigger. The embedded data fields in the panel are capped at 1024 characters and much too short. I want to generate embedded data fields in the survey that will then be saved to the panel via workflows. Is there a way to create an embedded data field set to equal the text response of a question, but ONLY capture characters 1-1000. I would then create follow-up embedded data fields set to characters 1001-2000, and so on. Here is an example of the field I am looking to take only the first 1000 characters from: ${q://QID40/ChoiceTextEntryValue}

It would be great if I could download a Dashboard Group like I can download a single widget. I’m not seeing a way to make that happen. Am I missing something or is it really not there? 

Hello,I am adding the following snippet of code to edit a table in one of my questions, the code runs and it shows what I want, and then it disappears. Does anybody have any idea of what I could do to either make the code stay or write it differently so that it doesn’t disappear? Hi, I want to adjust the height and width of the survey container so it will align with our existing components in the page. I inspected the elements and found the height and width are set to constant pixels 1176 and 169 px and I want to change to 100%.I tried to set it in custom css in look and feel but I think its not able to find the selector so its not working. can someone please help. 

Hello,We’re designing a survey for people to sign-up for events. The event has different time slots to choose from, and each time slot has a quota for it.Since there may be over 30 time slots to choose from, we’d love to let people quickly know what’s the remaining time slots and quota that haven’t been chosen.Is there any ways to view the remaining quota from respondent’s side before taking the survey? Since that may be more efficient to let everyone know if there’s still available quota to sign up.

Hi All, Is it possible to move all options from a multi choice question to another multi choice question and retain all the answers? Same question for a matrix table. There are two separate questions we would like to combine all the options into one for the matrix table as well and change it to carouse column format. Reason - survey is undergoing a change and we would like to move say options 1-5 from Q2 to Q1 but retain all the answers that were recorded before the change. So this will reflect in the new question. 

I am trying out the web service feature and I can’t understand the construction of the body parameters. Also, when I test, I don’t see actual values on the other side of the call. Am I missing something? Here are my sample settings. When my return web service is hit I see the client_id is coming over as “e://Field/client_id” and not the embedded value.

Hello, I have made a survey for an assignment and one of the questions wont show up. The message says “Too much data to display - your filters may be too inclusive!”. I have tried to mess with the filters, but I don’t think I have any on. I have also tried to export the question as an excel sheet twice an a CSV once. It will not export. Does anyone know how to help? 

I’m working on rebranding some survey emails and sending tests to myself. they appear different in the test email than in Qualtrics where i’m building them and i asked Qualtrics why and they said its because“This is an issue regarding the configuration of each mailbox on each recipient personal computer. The message is configured correctly, the difference is regarding the HTML configuration for each different mailbox.”I attached a file of what Qualtrics sent me (looks correct when they get the test email) and then what it looks like when I receive the test email as well as what it looks like in Qualtrics where i built it.Anyone else having this issue? How did you resolve? 

Hi,I have a simple requirement of having a quarter year field to store End date value in QQ/YYYY format so that I can use it in filter of my dashboard. Please guide how to achieve. I do not want to manually update records. However if there is a solution for future new responses and for historical I need to populate manually, I am fine. I do not need a forever manual process :)

I am creating a survey in Qualtrics and one of the questions follows this logic: the respondent selects how many students they have intervened with regarding suicide, and the next two questions will be specific to each student. The first question asks how they intervened, and the second question asks how comfortable they were with intervening. For instance, a respondent might select 1 student and answer the 2 questions for that student, while another respondent might select 2 students and answer the 2 questions for each student, etc. Could anyone help me with creating this logic?I would appreciate your help.

We added a web service in our survey flow, for which the URL happens to be working fine outside of Qualtrics, when run in browser.But when testing the web service URL in Qualtrics, we are not able to see the raw data and getting an error message like - "Web Service Error #60: SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate". Please guide me what to do in this case.

How can I show a thank you message after survey and after 1,5 second redirect to a java script (url)???

Dear all,  I am running a few surveys and in some of them all of sudden the following message appears in the Data & Analysis tab “We are generating the prepared dataset for you and this will take some time”.  I have not created any test/prepared dataset and this is stuck at 0%. In the meantime I cannot export my results neither through the web nor through the API.  Do you know how I can stop this process from running?

Hi all,I'm wondering if it is possible to redirect someone from a Qualtrics survey to another web site (in this case, so they can complete a task on that web site that would not be easy to incorporate into the survey) and for them to then be redirected from that web site back to the same survey. (I would also need to send an ID code from Qualtrics to the other web site, but that's a separate issue.) Any information would be helpful - thank you in advance.Chris Dickinson

Hello,I have set up a simple experiment with participants randomly allocated to one of two conditions. I would like to know in my dataset which condition participants completed. I have tried to do this using Embedded Data (Condition set to 0 or 1, Variable Type = Text) - see screenshot below: This works when I generate test responses, but when the study is completed by humans the Condition column in my dataset is blank.Is anybody able to suggest a way to fix this?Many thanks,Fergus

Hi  I am preparing to import 8 historical surveys, i am unsure if i should load the historicals in the new survey that we will launch so they map automatically in the dashboard or if it is better to load them in a historical project in case something goes wrong and the responses need to be updated.  The historicals have all the same questions but in the current survey we will divide by region the surveys to make the permissions to the dashboard more straight forward. Any suggestion of what should be the best path?

I have one question with several hundred options (respondents will not see all these options – it’s just the easiest way for us to organize a loop and merge table). I would like to set Quotas such that we have x responses for each answer to the question. Is there a way to do this that is faster than just making a quota for the 1st response and copying and modifying it for the subsequent hundreds of responses?Any tips appreciated.
