Randomized groups w embedded data - only one result shown

Hello everyone,I have created a survey with two randomized groups (A/B) which each consist of fixed pairs of two items (A1/A2 and B3/B4). These item pairs have a standard question block including an embedded data field (“Brand”) and are shown in randomized order. Expected result: each participant sees two items (→ Brands) and I receive results for the standard question block for four brands in total.Survey has already ended. Basic problem:Even as the preview runs worked fine and all testers were presented two brands in randomized order, I can’t differentiate the brands in the final survey results. More below.  Background: Setup:Randomizer / randomly present 1 of the following elements / evenly present elements   → Group A:         → randomizer  / randomly present 2 of the following elements / evenly present elements              → A1 with embedded data field (Brand1), standard question block and a distinct attention check result ATT1,               → A2 with embedded data field (Brand2

Workflow query related to new SDS changes in Qualtrics (Manage autocomplete)

We have a couple of surveys that use SDS (from data & analysis tab of survey) today for MANAGE AUTOCOMPLETE in another survey. The migration to new SDS (Library) is fine.However, the problem is with automatic updates section (Refer to link for AUTOMATIC UPDATE section). My requirement is that I need the entire data of SDS survey that was currently used in my Library SDS as well. Under extractor task, EXTRACT RESPONSE FROM SURVEY as per tutorial only extracts delta data post last run. And the new LOAD TO SDS task created can only overwrite the data in new SDS. This means if I run the workflow, the new data would overwrite the old data. Which extractor task (or any other task) can I use to export entire data from SDS survey to the Library SDS each time the workflow runs. Kindly help asap as we have only 1 week left to complete the changes.Thanks in advance.

Hyperlink to new text without url?

Hi everyone!In the introductory text explaining why the participant is receiving the survey, I want to keep the information brief. However, I do want to provide the full participant information for them to read if they want to. Ideally, I would have a hyperlink in the text that would say ‘Click here if you want to read the full participant information.’However, this information is not published on a website or anything, so I can't simply use a hyperlink for a URL because there is nothing to link it to.Is there an elegant way to execute this?

Selecting One Answer Selects All Answers In Its Block

Hi, I’m having an issue where selecting one answer of a multiple choice question selects the same index of that answer for all questions in the block. I’m not sure why this is happening. Has anyone run into this before?

Changing "Clear" button in signatures

Hi all,I am trying to modify the Signature question such that I can use it as a tracer scale for collecting psychometric time series data. Basically I took an image of a grid, inside my Qualtrics library, and then placed it inside the signature field using javascript.So far so good, the only problem now is that the “clear” button gets rid of the image every time! I am searching for different viable solutions:Make the image inside the signature sketchpad permanent such that it is not affected by the clear button. Redraw the image, everytime the clear button wipes the signature clean. Get rid of the “clear” button altogether, and add a custom button which restarts the survey, if the participants want to redraw the lines.I would dearly appreciate any help with any of these viable options. I have not found sufficient info to figure out how I can reference the “clear” button using html, java, or the CSS section, and hoping someone might know how to get rid of it, as this would be the quicke

Response ID appearing on response notifications (outlook email to Jira automation)

My org has an automation set up so that when emails are received in inboxes a Jira task gets assigned from that email - here’s the interesting part… On the back end I am not piping in the response ID and on the email that Qualtrics sends out via workflow the response ID is not there  BUT somehow when we are in the Jira task the response ID shows up right after “Forms: Yes.” I’ve tried troubleshooting this by going back into the workflow and deleting any blank spaces after the workflow piped text, and then I even deleted it and added it back in. I’m confused as to why it is not showing on the email we get in the inbox, but it is showing up in Jira as seen below (poor quality screen shot) *My org does not want to connect Qualtrics to Jira directly so this is my workaround

How to create new categories/variables based on scoring?

I conducted a survey, and one block of questions measures professional identity, and includes 5 questions where respondents rank to what degree they agree with a statement. For each question, I have scored each responses value (for example strongly agree: 5, strongly disagree: 1). So each respondent should have a final “score” which represents the sum of their responses, according to the value attached to their answer. Now i’d like to create new categories, for example “strong professional identity” for those who’s total score is between 20 and 25, “moderately strong professional identity” for those who’s total score is between 15-20, and so on. I’d need these new categories to be created so I can  visualize and compare these categories with the other data from my other question block (which has demographic data, etc) in the results / reports section. Can anyone help?

Is it possible to password protect a response report PDF from an Email Task in Workflows?

I am new to Qualtrics and am transitioning many surveys to Qualtrics from Alchemer. I have a survey and I need to password protect the PDF response report that goes to the respondent. Is that possible and if so, how do I do it? I did not find this in the Help documentation. Any information would be appreciated.Thank you!

How to create multiple surveys from one CSV file, with different text?

Hi, I’m new to qualtrics and was wondering if it was possible to do the following. My survey would record how much a word is similar to a concept on a scale from 1 to 7, for example cat and peace. For this, I would use the matrix. The thing is that for each concept I have multiple words, and in each survey I want to ask for 20 concepts at a time. So for example in a CSV I have, in one row: Words Concept cats;dog;plant;sun;cloud peace  For each row, I’d like the words to go automatically to the matrix and the concept to the text area above the matrix, which would ask the question “Rate 1-7 how much these words relate to the following concept”. Furthermore, I have 100 concepts so I’d like to create multiple surveys from the same csv file, in this case it would be 5, that are assigned randomly to users (and automatically also, if possible). I was wondering if it was possible to do it “automatically” or if I have to create one csv file for each survey and then send the surveys manual

survey branching and different conditional pathways

Hi, I am conducting testing to ensure all conditionally formatted questions appear as expected when shown to respondents.  Is there a way to view a map of all the conditional pathways in a survey? I.e., all the variations in a survey if there are branching questions, how would I see all the different paths a survey can go? Are there preprogrammable links?  Thank you!

Validation of answers based on previous answers

Hi! Im so sorry if someone already asked that (I did look for it but couldn't find), but I really need help with this.Please, does anyone know how can I validate the result of a question based on the previous ones? I mean, I need the respondent to insert some purchase values in questions 1, 2 and 3, and in the 4th, the answer this respondent gives, need to be the total amount of those other 3. If not, the survey restarts. In all the cases, I will use an "open field" so this person types the prices of everything at each step.If someone knows it, and can help me, it will be of great value for me!Thanks!

Randomize selection but exclude previously used embedded data

I’m working on a concept project where we are showing 4 concept groups to consumers. Currently there are 3 groups of concepts with each group having several options to choose from. My survey flow has randomization built into each concept to pick one of the many options for each group. Then it inserts an image based on whatever one was picked. This is all working perfectly.Now the 4th concept is being picked from all of the 3 concept groups, but I need it to exclude any of the ones that were already used. I thought I had the logic working with branhces, but I can’t seem to get it to work exactly. Here is how I have my 3 concepts being picked:   For the randomized concept I just need it to look at all the different concept options and then exclude the 3 that were picked by the previous randomizer.

Using display logic or JavaScript to allocate participants on the second part of my study?

Hi,I have chained the two parts of my research using my participants’ emails, but I want to display my different conditions based on their answers in Part 1 of the study. So how should I use the display logic or Javascript to do that?I think it should look like this;If Participant 1 is in group 1, then they should see Condition 2 in Part 2Should I do this manually for every participant?

2x2 within subjects design (no repetition - counterbalanced)

I have a fully crossed 2x2 within subjects design in which participants will receive 4 stimuli that are accompanied by two different features (i.e. experimental factors).Participants receive 4 statements and these statements are either a) approved or b) disapproved by a c) ingroup or d) outgroup.Each participant should receive: 1 ingroup x approval image, 1 outgroup x disapproval image, 1 ingroup x approval image and 1x outgroup x disapproval image.Group x feedback combinations should therefore randomly vary across the 4 images but each participant should receive all four possible combinations. This means, qualtrics needs to remember which combination has been shown and subsequently reduce the pool of options to present to participants. Thanks in advance!

Allocating participants into each group in the second part of the study

Hi there, I am setting up a two-part study in Qualtrics, and based on the participants’ answers in the first part of the study, I want to allocate them to each condition in the second part. So, I thought of having the participants enter their student id before completing the first part, and then using their student id they could enter the second part after a week. However, I am not sure how I can manually allocate each participant based on the different conditions since it cannot be randomized.  I hope it makes sense!Thank you!

Hi, I have a question about surveys that were begun and are in progress but not submitted, and that are deleted before completion. Do these count towards contract/license limits i.e., 100,000 survey responses? Or do only submitted ones count?

Directory fields

Hello, Can you please help me know if I can add fields to my contact list upload other than FirstName, LastName and Email? I have not seen anything about adding fields in my research. I’ve been having an issue with my upload and I wasn’t sure if that is why. I am getting error “The file contains one or more rows that don’t map to headers: fix this in your file and try again.” AND error “ Your import file is missing quotes….”.  thank you!

Change width of statement in matrix

I have a few matrix questions where the scale points are images placed side-by-side (hence I have de-selected “mobile-friendly”) and the statement says “select”. In some of the matrixes I show 2 images and in some i show 3 images.For now, when I show 3 images, qualtrics splits the statement and scale points into 25% each.When I show 2 images, qualtrics splits the statement and scale points into 33% each.  However, since the survey will be mobile-only I want the images (scale points) to be bigger, and thus I want the statement to have much lesser width. Is it possible to hard code the statement to only use ~10% of the width?

Creatively Increasing Employee Response Rate

We do surveys to our staff after every All Hands call, and we have hit the 1 year mark of that survey. It get’s tweaked each week based on the contents of that meeting, but I’ve watched the response rate absolutely tank this year.  I have a creative idea to create a question bank of fun and highly engaging questions on topics like pizza toppings, Star Wars, The Office, etc. The results of that question would be reported out via corporate communication channels for further engagement.  Has anyone done this or something like it? If so, I would love to hear how it went. Also open to other tactics.  The idea is to start out the survey with entertainment and joy as a logic bargaining tool for the user to go ahead and finish the rest while they have it open.

Creating hyperlink with piped text from embedded data

Hi everyone,I’ve had a look at previous answers and they don’t seem to quite fit what I’m doing (unless I’ve missed something?). Background:I’m sending out a survey (survey 2) with the first question embedded in the invitation email to participants within a directory. This is to prompt a response to why they didn’t complete the main survey (survey 1) when initially invited and reminder previously.If they answer this first question in the email, they’re taken to the survey on Qualtrics where they’ll be asked if they would still like to complete survey 1 and, if the answer is ‘yes’, they’ll be provided with their unique URL to survey 1.This survey URL includes two pieces of embedded data from the directory, piped into it, to personalise it. This is important for the functioning of survey 1 as some of the questions use display logic based on embedded data that will come from this URL, and the other embedded data from this URL is important for labelling the response.At present, if they say

Linking data from two surveys pre- and post-intervention

Hi everyone, a true Qualtrics newbie here with very little expirience and a dreading deadline.I know I should’ve done this before, but I thought I’d just follow the instructions and it’ll work. But I get stuck at the last step. So here is the situation:I have 160 participants divided into 4 groups by the type of intervention, the group is assigned in advance, they will be asked to confirm their groups in the survey I need them to take a survey before the intervention and then after 5 weeks to take the same survey with 1or 2 extra blocks. What I need is to see how their responses on the same survey have changed within thesee 5 weeks. Basically I want to see if every individual has a higher score or a lower score.
