Custom Code

Hi - PLEASE can someone give me step by step instruction how to ask respondents for their usual bed time? Probably timepicker? 24 hour format. I have waisted days now trying to work with the instructions I find on he community - just don’t get it to work and am about to throw the laptop out of the window ;-))))PLEEEEASE can someone help - I am a java illiterate???THANK YOU

Hello everyone, With the recent issue explained here, I updated the map component to use Mapbox API instead of Google Maps API.https://github.com/keita-makino/qualtrics-mapSome instructions to install the component have been changed so please follow the readme to newly use it. Also, there might be some bugs or unintended behaviors with the new 3.0.0 version, so please report them here on GitHub when you find some :)

Hi, thanks in advance for your time! As part of a larger Qualtrics-based intervention, I have a survey that users will fill out every day for 16 weeks. The survey has only two questions:What is your current mood? (1-10)  Did you practice your goal today? (yes / no / not yet)After they submit the survey, I want to redirect them to some data visualization so they can view their progress over time: (1) a line graph showing their mood over time (date submitted on X-axis, mood on Y-axis) (2) a bar graph showing the frequencies at which they selected yes / no / not yet I have tried to accomplish this goal a few ways: Message: At survey submission, redirect them to a library message that pipes in some data associated with their GUID. However, I can’t figure out how to build out graphs here.  Reports: I can direct individuals to a Qualtrics report with some interesting graphs at the end of the survey. Yet I can’t figure out how to customize that report for each person. i.e., all individual

I have a Rank Order question that is in the text box format (see example below). Is there a way to make the items and their accompanying text boxes appear in two columns instead of one?

I’d be extremely grateful if someone could help me. I’ve got a multiple choice question where participants can select at least 10 out of 62 selectable answers. For their ease, I’d like to display the number of answers a participant has selected and to do so dynamically, so participants can tell easily how many items they’ve selected before trying to go onto the next page.  I’ve found an old thread which seems to be about a similar thing:How to display choice count dynamically in question text for likert, single answer question type | XM Community (qualtrics.com) ... but I’m very new to JS and I’m not having any luck figuring out how to apply this code to my own situation. I’d be enormously grateful for any guidance on a bit of JS that could collect this information (how many items has a participant selected within this single multiple choice question), and how to embed that number in a bit of text so that participants can see the number updating dynamically when they select answers. Th

I am setting up a survey which embeds the respondents previously provided birth year. With this, I want to be able to answer a question on behalf of the respondent, which converts that embedded birth year into an approximate age, and assigns that age to a single-response question with age buckets (e.g. 18-24, 25-34, and so on), which a quota logic is tied to. I can achieve that with something like this:var year = '${e://Field/Birth%20Year}';    var today = new Date();    var age = null;    if (year > 0) {        age = today.getFullYear() - year - 1;    }    var q1 = null;    if (age >=18 && age<=24) {        q1 = 1;    } else if (age>=25 && age<=34) {        q1 = 2;    } else if (age>=35 && age<=44) {        q1 = 3;    } else if (age>=45 && age<=54) {        q1 = 4;    } else if (age>=55 && age<=64) {        q1 = 5;    } else if (age>=65) {        q1 = 6;    }     if (q1!=null) {        this.setChoiceValueByRec

I want to create 60 questions similar to the one shown below, with variations in the 3 photos shown. The 3 photos below would need to be changed for every question. Is this possible to do?

This is the CSS code I have on the Style Sheet to make all questions where N/A is an option, light gray /*Makes the N/A column light gray on desktop*/.last {    background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.05);} However, I have one question multiple choice question that contains an N/A option but it is not presenting the light gray background as expected. Any thoughts on what Java code I need to add to the question itself?

Dear all,I am completely new to Qualtrics and the community. I have developed a survey that will only be used by Desktop users (mobile compatibility is irrelevant). When looking at the preview, I realized that my horizontal 7-point Likert scales are not displayed entirely (16pt font size for questions and answers). Instead, users would have to scroll to the right to see the 7th answer choice. Obviously, I would like to avoid that at all cost. So far, I have tried the following:1) Reduce the font size of the answers - Solves the problem, but I would like to be consistent in the font size across questions and answers.2) Use of Custom CSS in the Look & Feel section - I did preliminary research on my question and pasted different lines of code into the CSS editor, but they all did not have an effect on the width of the survey interface or answers, e.g.,:.Skin, .SkinInner {width:100% !important;}.Skin .QuestionOuter.Matrix{ max-width: 100%; }Therefore, I would really appreciate your hel

Hi all,  Have tried using look and feel (compact), java script and CSS but nothing seems to working.  I have a multiple choice question with five options (answers are displayed vertically). Instead of text, I have included an image for each option. Does anyone know of a solution to reduce the space between multiple choice options? I want there to be little space between the options so it looks more like a table potentially.  Any tips/tricks would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Hello Qualtrics Hive Mind!I have a side-by-side question similar to the one below, and I want to hide the 'NA' radio button that's highlighted. I've searched the community pages and found a few JavaScript examples, but I haven't had any luck getting them to work.The code I’m using is similar to what I've seen, but it's not working for me. Apologies if this is repetitive.Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(function() { var qid = this.questionId; // Get the question ID dynamically // Target the radio button in row 1 (second row), column 2 (third column) $('#QR~' + qid + '~1~2').closest('td').find('input[type="radio"]').hide();});Patrick

Hi all,I'm trying to insert a consent form (PDF) into a survey and I was wondering if there was any way that I could make it so that the survey as a whole shows up on one question block as a scrollable PDF instead of a link that leads to the form? They don't need to be able to click/edit it, just scroll through it.I've tried inserting it as PDF, picture, and as an RTF file to no avail.Thank you!

Hi, Community! Is it possible to hide the last scale point (titled “unable to rate”) in a matrix table likert scale for the first 3 statements, but display it as an option for the bottom 2 statements using custom code? I’ve attached a photo of what I would like to achieve, if that helps - thank you!

How can I have no default starting points on the sliders? I'd like the button that one slides on the slider to not show up at all until the respondent clicks on the slider. ! I found this link "link"), and the post asks for a similar question, but the question is not answered.

Hi thereI need your help for a a beginner's question.I just want to get each selected choice (recoded by variable name) in a unique value (separated by a comma). I'm blocked at the end of my loop, when I want to create the "mods" variable.Can you help me please ? Here is my code :Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnPageSubmit(function() { /*Place your JavaScript here to run when the page is submitted*/ var arr = this.getSelectedChoices(); if(arr.length > 0) { for(var i = 0;i

 Hello everyone,I am using this matrix to ask willingness to pay in my survey for university. I am pretty new to Qualtrics so please excuse my stupid questions. So what I am trying to do is:1.) Trying to write a code so that people just have to click a "I would buy for this price" and the matrix fills out automatically. (Background: If they would buy it at 1.60, they will buy it at any price below that. I just wanted to make it more convenient for the participants, since I had to stick to this table as required). 2.) At least I wanted to use the customer validation to make sure that the answers are coherent. For example, you can't just click the "buy" button for 1.50 and 1.60, but the "not buy" button for 1.55 (because that wouldn't make sense and would make the evaluation much harder). But I don't really understand how to use it for this specific case. I'm really bad at coding, I tried something with ChatGPT but it didn't really work. So my question would be: Can I do either 1.) or 2.

Hi I need help with adding NPS colour code to qualtrics survey invite - I can only use default colours is there a way around this ?

Dear community, I have implemented a slider question with 8 statements and look for a solution to decrease the spacing between (A) the statement and the slider as well as (B) the slider and the label across all of the 8 blocks.  This is how a slider for a single statement looks at the moment:To obtain this, I have already used the following Java code to print the labels below each of my 8 slider questions and hide the numbers that are displayed by default:  Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnReady(function(){    jQuery("ul.labels").insertAfter("div.slider-container");    jQuery("ul.numbers").hide();}); Could you help me solve this spacing issue for all of the sliders? Thank you for your help!

I am facing an issue where the screen reader echoes the 'Character remaining' text after every character input, which is quite annoying for users. To address this, I tried implementing a solution to hide the 'Character remaining' text until the user enters 15 characters. While the solution partially works, it does not completely resolve the issue. I am looking for guidance on how to disable the screen reader from announcing or displaying the 'Character remaining' text from the first character input. Your assistance in resolving this accessibility concern would be greatly appreciated. var qid = this.questionId;var questionContainer = this.getQuestionContainer();var inputElement = jQuery(questionContainer).find('textarea');var reminderElement = jQuery('#QID616-RemainingChars');reminderElement.hide();inputElement.on('input', function(){var characterCount = inputElement.val().length;if(characterCount >=15){reminderElement.show();reminderElement.attr('aria-atomic', 'false');reminderEleme

Hi!In the Qualtrics platform, I added a question with an audio in it. The thing is that, after 1 minute, regardless of what I do, I automatically move on to the next question.How can I change that so there is not a limit of time?Thanks in advance!

Hi community! We are currently sending our surveys via Marketo. Within the marketo email, we have staged an “inline question” in the form of an NPS score, so that when someone clicks on a score, they are linked out to the Qualtrics survey with that question response already pre-populated (It is the first question in our survey).  As we are not sending the email within the Qualtrics platform, we have encoded the url for Q_populateresponse in the following JSON format:Q_PopulateResponse=%7B%22QID1%22:%2210%22%7D  The above example would redirect the person to the first question in the survey with a score of “10” pre-populated.  The issue we are experiencing however, is that although the pre-population of the question is working, the actual “Capturing” of the response within Qualtrics is not, if they choose to abandon the survey thereafter. Upon testing however, we did discover if a person “advances” (clicks next) to the next question, the first response does get captured (whether they ab

Hi team, I am struggling with a certain task and your help is heavily appreciated! I have built a few steps workflow 1. My workflow is triggered based on a survey response I am sending an API POST to retrieve the survey responses in JSON I am getting the Progress ID I am getting the File ID I am also getting the Survey definition    The whole process is failing in step 6 where I have the following Code Task   // Retrieve the entire JSON content from the previous task const data = JSON.parse(`~{ch://OCAC_QD4uwlanVCdp31y/$.responses}`); console.log(data); // Replace new lines with spaces var payload = data.replace(/(\r\n|\n|\r)/gm, " "); const surveyData = JSON.parse(`~{ch://OCAC_ouvxj8vx6bONVjm/$.result}`); var surveyDefinition = surveyData.replace(/(\r\n|\n|\r)/gm, " ");function codeTask(payload, surveyDefinition) { // Iterate over each response in the payload payload.responses = payload.responses.map(response => { const values = response.values || {

Hello! I am new to Qualtrics and am trying to learn about different types of survey capacities.I’m wondering if it would be possible to include a calendar visual for participants to enter information about their life histories (e.g., pregnancies, birth, contraceptive use), sequentially. This would be a self-reported, web-based questionnaire that would include a visual calendar where they click a month to indicate if each life history event occurred within that month, and then answer some follow-up questions related to that life event. See example screenshots below.For example, the survey might first ask about months where the respondent was sexually active, asking the respondent to select all months where this occurred in X year. And then, the next question might ask about experience of pregnancies for those same months, refreshing the calendar back to no check marks.Is this type of visualization and interactivity possible with Qualtrics?Thank you in advance for any guidance!

Why is this showing up as an invalid expression

Hi ,I have created a bipolar question with a 7 point scale. But the width of the container holding the question body does not increase automatically and the horizontal scroll bar seems to show up. I understand that to remove the scrollbar Javascript has to be used. But I am unable to identify the right class or code the script correctly. Was anyone able to solve this issue? Please let me know.
