Hi all, does anyone have an idea for how to create a dynamic drill down question? I checked the API documentation, but it seems this question type cannot be updated after creation.My goal is basically to create a question for scheduling an appointment based on open time slots that fluctuate from week to week. The time slots would be based on information piped into Qualtrics from our internal scheduling database. The question would look something like this:Select a staff member. Select a meeting day. Select a meeting start time. Select a meeting end time.So if you selected “Bob” in the first question, then you’d get a list of days he’s free, then a list of possible start times, then a list of possible end times. (Appointment length can vary.)Thanks in advance for any suggestions! I’m hoping for something not too complicated, but am willing to dig into the API and JavaScript if that seems like the best strategy.

I am trying to figure out a way to do the following in Qualtrics. I have a list of words - lets say “word01” - “word50”Each one (01-50) is either paired with a photo or not paired with a photoI need to be able to randomly select 25 to show with a photo and 25 to show without a photoIf word01 is shown with a photo then it should not be shown without a photo (and if shown without a photo, then it should not be shown with a photo). So, I would have, for example: word01_imageword01_noneword02_imageword02_noneword03_imageword03_none… word50_imageword50_noneAnd would want to have 50 trials -- 25 with image and 25 without image - randomly presented with each word presented only once (either with or without image). I’ve played around with display logic and randomization within blocks, but it becomes rather unwieldy and I haven’t been able to guarantee a 25-25 split on the image-none factor. Any help greatly appreciated(Note: I know almost no java programming)    

Hi! I've got a very image-heavy survey that we want to have preloaded before respondents begin. So, I've worked out that you can make the browser preload images with this code (repeated for each image) in a blank question on the first page:But now I'm trying to hide the next button until all the images are loaded. I can hide the button with this in the header:.NextButton{visibility:hidden;}I've tried this (also in the header) to make the button visible again, but it goes visible before the preloading has finished:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){jQuery("#NextButton").css("visibility","visible");});What obvious mistakes have I made? Hi all,I am seeking help for the following issues:I  need to calculate the BMI atomatically based on the height and weight that is provided by participant in the survey.  Individuals with BMI less than 18 and above 40 will be excluded (end the survey). There are couples of items regarding appetite where participants are required to answer only one (either item 6 decrease appetite or item 7 increase appetite). I have to add a note for participant to complete either item 6 or item 7. Same with weight (Item 8 and item 9). I have to exclude the participants based on their total score in a scale. Individuals with score less than 10 and above than 20 will be excluded (end Survey) from this study. The methods of scoring is1. Enter the highest score on any 1 of the4 sleep items (1-4) ____2. Item 5 ____3. Enter the highest score on any 1appetite/weight item (6-9) ____4. Item 10 ____5. Item 11 ____6. Item 12 ____7. Item 13 ____8. Item 14 ____9. How can I require 0-30 number validation for text-entry boxes in one column without forcing a response? I tried a previous post’s suggestion for custom validation, letting each field be </=30 or empty. However, in testing, it won’t accept empty fields and requires a response for each. However, it applied it to the text entry box for “Other,” too, despite manually having this set to require non-numerical text. Hello,I have a slider question and I would like to remove the numeirc scale points display below the slider bar. See the figure below - essentially, I want to remove 0 and 100 from the display (as the numbers don’t mean anything) and only show the “Not at all” and “Completely” labels.I have searched the forum and found two related posts: The code in this one doesn’t work. And I don’t understand how branch logic works in this context. ​​​​​​​This one the code is in CSS but the Qualtrics that I am working with uses JavaScript. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi!  I want to save the FileNames for the pictures I use in a loop&merge.I have already created an embedded data point in the survey flow and a field inside the loop&merge with the FileName, i cannot acces it with the embedded data though. How can I access it?Or: Is there any other way on how to get the actual file names behind the urls that I inserted into the loop&merge? I crucially need them for the analysis part of the survey. Thank you so much for your help in advance!

Hi! Thanks in advance for any help. I have a survey that users will return to each week over a 16 week period. I created a multiple choice menu with 16 options - one for each week - and branching for each “lesson” according to which option they select. Ideally, I want a user to only see “lesson 1” as a menu option during their first 7 days in the program. On the 8th day, I want them to see “lesson 1” and “lesson 2”, and so on through the end of the intervention, such that on day 106, they see all lessons, including “lesson 16”. I tried to accomplish this by using embedded variables based on adding X number of days to their STARTDATE variable, assigned at screening, ie: WEEKTWO = ${date://STARTDATE/c/+7%20day}With help from chatgpt, I then tried to use javascript to accomplish this time-delayed branching, but nothing has worked. Any ideas on how to accomplish my goal? Hi! I'm setting up a study on medical decision-making, but I am having issues with a task I'm trying to present to my participants. I put together a task consisting of two rounds. In the first one, participants have to choose from a number of medical diagnostic tests they would like to run in order to diagnose a patient in a previously presented case study (multiple choices possible). After they make their choices, only the selected choices should be carried over to the next screen (different question and block), and presented. However, for each selected & carried over choice I'd like to present the outcome of the test in addition (a text containing predetermined information on the outcome of the test). I tried making this work with carrying forward choices, but it does not work as I can't edit the choice text that has been carried over. I think it would be impossible to do this manually with branching or display logic, as the number of choices is 21, with all combinations possible.

I have a question that asks people for the industry they work in (19 options total from a dropdown). In the next question, I want to randomly choose four of the non-selected options from this previous question to separately ask questions about each of the three non-selected choices. So far, I’m trying to use javascript and embedded data to create a piped text for these non-selected choices. Hi,I’m trying to implement a dual-handle slider based on this code. However, I’m having issues with the embedded data block recording user answers. Regardless of user input on the slider, the embedded data fields aren’t updating. Hi, For my intercept, I am using "Display with custom Javascript code" for displaying the intercept. I am integrating qualtrics with a single page application on Angular JS. I have placed the Zone code in index.html and I am loading the survey using QSI.API.load() and QSI.API.run(). The issue is that when I redirect from another page to the target page(where survey needs to be loaded) , even though the statements QSI.API.load() and QSI.API.run() are executed, the survey does not load on that page. I also don't see any qualtrics related calls made on that page. When I reload the target page, the statements QSI.API.load() and QSI.API.run() are executed again, and the survey is displayed as expected and qualtrics related calls are also made. Please suggest what I can do to fix this. Thanks.

Hi! I have a multilpe choice question with preselected choices. I want the items to deselect automatically if the respondent has deselected the overall category. In the example: If the respondent deselects “Video” all the video formats (“Filme, Serien, Reality, Shows”) below should be deselected. If i try the show logic it doesnt work as the condition is on the same page as the item. How can I do this without having to create a question beforehand for each item?  Thanks in advance!BestMax 

I'm wanting to move the next button to a middle alignment and remove spacing between the question text and the next button but am unsure of how to do this. You can see the big gap between the last line of text and the next button, which I'd like to eliminate or shorten.And I'd like to move the next button to being centered in the middle. Hey all,I noticed that a bit of my code was not working properly when I put it into Qualtrics whereas when testing it with NodeJS it seemed to work fine. I narrowed it down to an array that I constructed as follows:Array.from({length: 20}, (e, i) => i);This should just produce an array of increasing number [0, 1, 2, ... , 19]. It works as expected in NodeJS, but when calling it in Qualtrics it creates an Array of length 20 but each element is undefined. Does anyone know why this is?

I am working on an experiment that relies on WAV files and they only seen to play correctly in Chrome. In other browsers the audio often does not play at all.It would be better if the experiment was compatible with most browsers. Any advice would be appreciated. I am also waiting to hear from Qualtrics support on this issue.

I’m trying to change the image's color (bottled water package) to a gray-scale gradient from white to black in conjunction with the motion of the slide. Specifically, I would like to change the color of the label to darker as a respondent moves the slider to the right and the color to black when a respondent locates the slider at the end of the scale.   

Hi all, I have been looking around for a good solution to this for a while now. The pages in the response summary pdf break at awkward points, sometimes cutting my text in half. I have tried adding a print media query to my css styles in the form to no avail. Am I missing something? Any ideas on how to edit this specific portion of the survey will be appreciated Thanks!

I have a set of sliders that need a two checkboxes: the default “Not applicable” option, and a “Don’t know” option. I have turned on the ‘add “not applicable” option’ feature, but it only allows for one “not applicable” column. To be clear, I really need both of these, and it would be ideal to have them both at the end of the slider the way the default “not applicable” option is.How difficult would it be to implement this?

Hello - I am trying to remove the % and correct/incorrect answers that appears on the header when answers are displayed to use after the survey is submitted. In the screen shot I am wanting to remove the ‘3/7’ and the ‘42.9%”. I have zero experience writing html code however I have been able to piece together some code for other areas of the display.
