Hi I receive a field in my contact list named motivo1, it bring the reason why the person visited the website in a code (ex: SUP) using a json. i would need to have a question with the pipped text of de decodification of this code (ex: download of the bill), i created a java script in the header of the survey that generates the embedded data field motivopregunta.  However when i put this as piped text it doesn't work, however in data and analysis i get the field filled with the right information. i am guessing it is because the field is created when the customer access the survey. Does any one has any idea of how can i make this work?Thank you!

So I’ve hit a bit of an issue with the carry forward options. I have a large list of items in multiple groups is that are presented randomly (5 random groups and 5 random items from the groups). Each participant rate each item and then will answer questions based on these ratings. They will then go on to rank all the items above a certain rating. These items will then be placed in a bracket style question and this not that questions. So basically there is a lot of logic that’s based on the original ratings and for the later questions to work I need to use something that can record the dynamic list presented to each participant. The qualities support said I could try to work it out with display logic and some carry forward logic. However with approximately 1400 items this seems rather unlikely.so I was wondering, is it possible to use the JS features and abilities to construct a code that will record the answers and pass them on later in the survey. For a multiple choice question, my impression is that getChoiceValue() returns whether or not the option is selected. Is there a function to instead return the text value of the chocie? For example if I have choices “East”, “West”, “North”, “South”, and I did fn(2), it would return “West”?

Hi,I have four words (cat, car, mountain, ocean).And I have four different questions (but past and future conditions) 1- recall a past event with word ….2- recall a past event with word ….3- imagine a future event with word ….4- imagine a future event with word …. I want to randomly and equally assign these words to these conditions for each participant but I do not want to get ‘cat’ to be displayed twice for instance. How can I do that? Should I embedded data? I appreciate your help!!

Hi! I am trying to create a variable that counts the number of choices that currently exist in my question to make a loop, as I need to browse the possible choices to evaluate if they have been checked and set them to a specific value. The options are dynamic, as they appear depending on whether a YES was given in two different previous questions. I think I could also get this value if I use the If else option, but I wanted to know if there is a possibility to do it with only one line of code and not 6 or 7. Hello! I have a slack workflow set up and I am trying to create an automated weekly slack post within my set up Slack group that summarizes our overall average NPS plus the average % of Promoters, Passives, and Detractors. I have used the calculate metric to set up a workflow for average NPS and the count of Promoters, Passive,  & Detractors in the last 7 days, but cannot use it to create a “%” for those that are Promoters, Passive,  & Detractors. My TAM has recommended I use the “code” task to write a simple javascript that says something like ::count of promotors in last 7 days:: / ::total count of surveys in last 7 days:: and have it add a “%” but they cannot write this javascript for me. Hi all, we are trying to do the following, and are not 100% sure the best way to implement it in qualtrics:We are using Scoring, so each response to a question is worth some number of points.After the user responds to a question, we would like to display what was right and what was wrong. That functionality seems to be built in (just set "show scoring summary" setting to "After Each Question").Here's the problem: in addition to the 'scoring summary', we would like to display an *explanation* for why. This does NOT need to be contingent on the response, but it should be displayed at the same time scoring summary What is the best way to do that? Below is an image of what we mean: 

I am using the instructions on this website to add a date picker and calculate age. The code works fine but after picking the date, I keep seeing the date picker on every following page of the survey after that (attached screenshot). Is there a way to resolve this issue?

Recently I found out about this issue - here is an example:QID1 includes an “Other” question that has a text box.QID2 uses the carry-forward choices for QID1.  The option “Selected Choices - Entered Text” is used. If “Other” is selected in QID1, the Selected text for QID1 is displayed for QID2; HOWEVER, when you look at the data, the Other-Text Entry for QID2 is blank.I reached out to support, and they stated that this is “intended functionality” and said that would be an excellent suggestion to submit. Is there a way to populate that have that QID1 Text into the QID2 text entry option in the data, or do we only have the option of using branching and populating Embedded Data? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Is it possible to refer to particular elements of loop-and-merge data, in particular elements not part of the current loop?That is to say, if Im on the n-th loop of a loop-and-merge question, then ${lm://Field/1} refers to the n-th element of the first column of my data. Is there a way to refer to, say, the n-1-th element? I know that I could just save it as some embedded variable during the n-1th loop, but I’d ideally like to refer to any value in the entire loop-and-merge data conditional upon the choices of the survey taker. So this would get unwieldy.  Thanks for any advice!

Hello all! I want to create an indicator if an open-ended feedback response contains 300 or more characters. I know I can use branching logic to create an embedded data field for this indicator, but I am not sure how to set up the trigger. Is this something I'd need custom code to do?

I am using a form field color-picker question so respondents can choose colors they associate with given sounds. I have uploaded all of the sounds in individual .wav files to my library, but I am unsure how to reference them in a loop and merge question. I want respondents to listen to all the audio files three times, but in a randomized order, which I think the loop and merge function would achieve. Thanks in advance!

I have 7 radio button on my survey.  Values 1 to 7 in Recode values and advanced scoring.They all return the correct value except for the second one.  It returns 8 and not 2.Where is this value 8 coming from?The ID of the button is QR~QID5~1~8, it should be QR~QID5~1~2?Anyone had this before?

Hi AllHope everyone is well.I have a strange behaviour, in that edits in 1 theme (CSS), are being copied over into another theme.As you can imagine this is highly annoying as I just about get something right in 1 theme, then check the other and its also updated that CSS.Any ideas? Thanks :)

Hi Qualtrics community - have a very specific issue we’re hoping someone has experienced / could help with: We have a survey that was coded in English (base language is English), and then is translated (translated text pasted into each question using the Qualtrics Translations tab).  We need to edit the HTML of a question so we can insert a piece of HTML code to allow the question text to show a variable that changes as the question loops. This worked perfectly in the English version of the survey, where we directly inserted it using HTML view in the Builder tab. But, when we try to insert this HTML code into the “Source” HTML of the translated survey question in the Translations tab, each time we exit out of the survey, this HTML code edit disappears. How can we edit the HTML code of the translated version of a survey question without it disappearing? TIA!

Hello all,I am trying to pin a video at the top of a page when it loads in my survey so that respondents don’t have to scroll down to see it. I have looked at forum posts that pertain to having question texts at the top of the page, but would that code still apply to my situation? I am also trying to figure out how to get my video to autoplay once the page loads. In my survey, I am asking applicants for their date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY). I would then like to calculate the applicant’s age based on the date of birth they entered in the survey and based on two specific dates in the future (19/02/2024 and 24/07/2024). I have created an embedded data field with the field name ‘Age’ and the value is set to the text entry question for the date of birth (${q://QID2/ChoiceTextEntryValue/4}). When the applicant enters their date of birth, I would like to calculate how old they will be on either 19/2/2024 or 24/07/2024. I think I need to use Javascript for this background calculation, but which script do I use for this, there are so many out there and none of them seem to work. Where do I then place the Java script? Into question QID2?I then want to add branching based on the result of the calculation. If the calcuated age<18 on 19/02/2024 or 24/07/2024, the branching goes one way; if the age is=>18 the branching goes a different way. I have set this

I have used HTML to design the look and feel of the survey including the forms. Now i can’t see the feedback on Qualtrics. I can only see the question i didn’t use code for.

I used to use the following javascript successfully to both 1. hide the next button and 2. go to the next question after 6 seconds. I am trying to use it now, and it does not work (the next button is hidden, but the question never advances).
