Remove system messages from the top of the survey

How can I remove the system message “You’ll advance to the next page after you complete each page”? Upon my search, previous threads say to change from using the “simple” layout, (which we’re not anyway) however using the new survey taking experience, changing the layout is not available.

Next button appears differently live compared to previews

Help! We’ve recently updated to the ‘New Survey Taking Experience’, which has automatically changed the “next” button to say “next page”. I’ve updated the next button in the look and feel, as well as each survey page settings, and in all previews it appears the way we want it to (just a > ), however in the live survey it appears with “Next page” text. Am I missing something?

Limit countdown timer to active window?

Howdy, I am trying to make sure a participant watches a video embedded in my survey. I have set it up so that the advance button only appears after X+3 seconds where X is the duration of the video, but I realized that there is nothing preventing a user from visiting another tab, or if on mobile, opening another app and entirely disregarding the video--i.e. if they arrive at the question with the video, open up instagram for at least X+3 seconds, and then return to the survey, they can advance… is there any way to make sure the qualtrics timers only “advance” if the tab or survey window is active?Many thanks in advance!

How to calculate birth year based on age from a survey question

Hi Qualtrics team,I have a survey where respondents are directly asked for their age (e.g., via a numeric entry question). I’d like to automatically calculate their year of birth based on the age they provide and store it in an Embedded Data field.For example, if a respondent enters “30” and the current year is 2025, I’d like the survey to store 1995 as their year of birth.Could someone guide me on: How to set up the calculation using Survey Flow and Embedded Data? Whether I need to use JavaScript within the question, or if this can be done directly via Piped Text and math operations in Qualtrics? How to ensure the calculation updates automatically depending on the current year? I think it can be very useful to create gruoups such as Gen Z, Millenials, etc...Thanks in advance for your help!

File Upload - Piped Text (Image)

Hi EveryoneIn a file upload question, I ask a respondent to upload an image.This triggers a workflow email, that I pipe the image URL into.This works, but when clicked, you need to log into Qualtrics to download the image.How can I achieve this, but without logging into Qualtrics, as the recipient of the email does not have Qualtrics access.Thanks :)

Survey distribution automation workflow

Hello :)I want to daily import contacts via an SFTP server and send a survey via email to all newly added or updated contacts with certain embedded data criteria from the most recent import.I’ve tried to set everything up in Workflows, but I end up with the workflow sending the survey either to everyone that is in the respective list where the contact are added to (send survey to: list) or noone (send survey to: T-ID 5).Independently of the outcome the run history of the workflow tells me that everything went as expected, e.g. in thi sexample no mail has been sent (can also be seen in contact history and survey distribution tab: What am I doing wrong?Looking forwward to your help,Sophie

Error "Could not find a declaration file for module 'react-native-qualtrics'" starting on 2.6.0

Hey, I just update ‘react-native-qualtrics’ from 2.5.0 to 2.8.0 and starting to get the error:Could not find a declaration file for module 'react-native-qualtrics'. 'PATH_MASKED/node_modules/react-native-qualtrics/lib/commonjs/index.js' implicitly has an 'any' type.  Try `npm i --save-dev @types/react-native-qualtrics` if it exists or add a new declaration (.d.ts) file containing `declare module 'react-native-qualtrics';` After some digging, it started in 2.6.0 since the folder structure under typescript has changed.With 2.5.0 in our node_module, react-native-qualtrics was having:typescript/      index.d.ts       index.d.ts.map       NativeRNQ...csDigital.d.ts       NativeRNQ...ital.d.ts.map But starting from 2.6.0 , I seetypescript/      lib/      scripts/      src/           index.d.ts           index.d.ts.map           NativeRNQ...csDigital.d.ts           NativeRNQ...ital.d.ts.map           Can this be fixed please?

react-native-qualtrics 2.7.0 issue "no visible @interface for selector 'setLastDisplayTimeForInterceptFor:'

I tried to integrate rn-qualtrics 2.7.0 but iOS compilation get me the error below/node_modules/react-native-qualtrics/ios/RNQualtricsDigital.m:277:34: error: no visible @interface for 'QualtricsProperties' declares the selector 'setLastDisplayTimeForInterceptFor:'I have no clue why I’m getting this. Drag and Drop question without rank in new survey taking experience

Hi, I want to have a drag and drop style questions asking to sort 15 items into 4 buckets. I wanted this interface to make it more visual and fun to encourage responses.I went for Pick Group and Rank question. Navigation is ok but I really don’t want the rank. It is confusing for respondent but what is worse it is blowing up my database to 130 variables I don’t need. I researched this and found suggestion to switch to Matrix question with drag and drop option but this one apparently is not avaibale in new survey taking experience. How would you go about it? Do  you have any ideas on how to tackle this? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.Thanks

Adding static text after each text box in a form field with display logic

I’m pretty new to JavaScript, but I’m trying to add different static text to text boxes in a form field. The complication is that there’s display logic on the question.In the question before, the user selects what items they’ve received. Then, in the relevant question they’ll input how many of each they received. Some of the choices need units behind them. Here’s a simple example: I found answers for if there isn’t display logic, it’s pretty straight forward, like this example:  My problem is, that only works if they select every option from the question above. Otherwise the units appear nonsensically. With the display logic, I can’t reference the choice box by location in the list. Pick, Group, and Rank Question - how to dynamically count down items left to rank?

I have a pick, group, and rank question with 32 items, set to display stacked so as not to overwhelm the survey-taker. I would like to have a counter on the page that indicates how many items are remaining in the stack (they must rank all items). There are two groups the items can be ranked into. I haven’t found much information on the forums about using JS with pick, group, and rank questions, so I’m a little lost. Display all answers from carry forward matrix in single dashboard widget

Hello!I’ve run into a challenge displaying the responses from a matrix table with carry forward answers. The survey is setup like this:Q1 - select all that apply from this listQ2 - Matrix table carry forward choices, 5 point likert scale for each choice In the dashboard/dataset these responses have been recorded as separate items instead of all together in a single field. I want to compare the different choices in a dashboard widget, but cant figure out how to. For example a line chart with Y axis 1 2 3 4 5 and X axis the choices and a count of total choices.Or side by side bar graphs. Basically anything where I dont need to make 10 different widgets all next to each other... I tried creating a combined data set using the field editor but it saved them as the ratings each respondent chose together - 4/5/1/3 which I cannot use either. Thanks!

Piping text based on which form text box was displayed

I have a survey where we ask if it was a trip to your home and the response is yes / no.If yes, then the next page (a form) will show a field asking ‘Where did you go?’ and the default option of ‘home’ is entered. The ‘Where did you go? (including name of place/business if applicable)’ field is hidden, as is the ‘street address’ field and instead a ‘location description’ field is shown.If no, then the ‘Where did you go?’ and the default option of ‘home’ is hidden and the ‘Where did you go? Constant Sum on Side By Side

Hello all,I’m trying to add a constant sum type column into a side-by-side question. I’ve tried using code from various posts on this forum and amending it to my needs, but I’m yet to be successful. Would really appreciate some help! I have a four column side-by-side question. I would like the very bottom row to show the total sum of the far right column. Not all question results and data analysis displayed

I created a survey which I have been collecting responses for, but in the Results and Data & Analysis sections, only data for a few of the survey questions is shown, out of order, and some of them have “unexpected error occurred”. I think maybe this might be happening because I published the survey, had someone fill out a response to test it out, deleted that response, then made some changes before republishing and sending out link for my current respondents. But I’m not sure how to fix this problem and be able to see the data for all of my survey questions.

Next Page Button Disappear When Using Javascript

Hi Community!I write a Javascript to present a web page of a simulated social media, and capture participants engagement of that web page(comment, share, like….). Everything works well (we ran a successful version in prolific before), but after some twist in the style of the survey, there is an error pop up when click the next page. Adding Flatpickr (Timepicker) to a Question

Hi there, My respondents have been complaining about the hassle of navigating three separate dropdown boxes to select times in a survey that asks a lot about their activities throughout different times of the day. I am therefore looking to add the Time Picker available here as a survey question. I know *nothing* about Javascript and so I was hoping someone could tell me how to go about doing this. How can I auto code a single/multi question from the response selected in previous question?

How can I auto code a single/multi question from the response selected in previous question? For example, out of 5 options in a multi question only 1 of them is selected at question Q1. I have to autocode this code in question Q2 which is also a multi question and skipped from been asked to the respondent. What is the best approach to implement it?

Randomly display a question in two different locations

Hi all.I am building a survey and want to test a specific question in different locations to see if the question position in the survey influences the results.So I want 50% of respondents to see the question at the start of the survey and the other 50% to see the question at the end of the survey.Is this possible? Has anyone done something like this?I can just send the survey out to 50% of the sample with the question at the top. Reposition the question at the bottom and then send it out to the other 50% of the sample. But this won’t guarantee an even number of responses for both conditions and I was hoping for something more automated.Thanks.

How to add meta data so it can be used as multi value in dashboard?

How do you add meta data to a participant, so that it can be used as a multi value selection in a filter in a dashboard?Example: I have some users that I want to mark as being part of an assessment in 2020, 2023 or 2024.  Each user can be in zero, one or multiple assessments.I have tried to add the data as “2022, 2023” or even split it with semicolons, but even I then mark it in the dashboard setup as a Multi-Answer Text Set, then “2022, 2023” is still seen as ““2022, 2023” in the filter, instead of separate as “2022” & “2023”

Clickable image slideshow

Hello,I'm hoping someone can help me diagnose a problem with custom JS. Following these steps (https://www.w3schools.com/howto/howto_js_slideshow_gallery.asp), I can create an image gallery but the next/previous buttons are not functional. A similar dead thread from 2018 (https://community.qualtrics.com/XMcommunity/discussion/2514/is-there-a-way-to-include-an-image-slideshow-in-my-survey) ran into this issue, but no solution was offered (the 2020 suggestion to use an Imgur album will not work, unless there is a way to prevent the imgur image from linking out of the survey and over to imgur.com).Thank you!

Is it possible to change Min/Max of a slider dynamically?

Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing well. I was working on survey and got the problem that because Max and Min value in a slider is number I can’t change it with embedded data. I tryed to do it with a code, but still no luck. My survey is otherwise working perfectly, but this one issue is holding me back. Does anyone know if there’s a way to dynamically change slider Min/Max values, without resorting to building fully custom sliders? Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Left question numbers blank, but "." shows up in place in preview. How do I get rid of the periods?

I left the question numbers blank, hoping to have no question numbers in the survey. ! In preview, however, I don't get blanks. There are periods in place of the blanks. How can I get rid of them? !

Enable Org Hierarchy filter in CX dashboard

Hi, I have a B2B CX dashboard to build. I have a hierarchy as below:Level 1 - CompanyLevel 2 - VerticalLevel 3 - CustomerLevel 4 - Offering I need to enable such a hierarchy filter in my CX dashboard. I got hierarchy enabled in my license. But when i go into dashboard setting and click on Add Org Hier, it says contact customer support. Kindly help with steps how to enable this hierachy for reporting. Regards,Neha Tank
