I created a survey with an anonymous link. The survey link was sent to our communications department. THEY distributed the survey link in various ways (we did not use Qualtrics distribution).1) Emailed anonymous survey link to a customer list 2) Put the anonymous link on our website 3) Distributed the QR code for the link at a function etc. Is there way to tell how many people answered the survey in each of the 3 ways above?

Can dashboard filters break if a survey question adds new values later?

Is there a way to have the container on, but have it be more subtle - like a way to adjust the opacity of the question container itself? Here it is on and off, I am looking for something in between where the question is still easy to read/focus on, but I would like to be able to see the background, maybe just have it be more dithered/muted where the question container is rather than completely blocked out  

Hi,In my email footer, I have a part “© 2025 CompanyX” I would like to be able to replace 2025 with a piped text for the current year.However, all of the date/time piped text options seem to always include day+month+year.Is there any piped text existing that is only returning the current year?  These emails are sent out with regular distributions to a mailing list, so I can’t add any Code task somewhere. 

Hello,I’m using a Pick Group Rank question for 9 possible options across 3 groups. Respondents need to pick 1 option for each group. The validation is set for each group to contain a minimum and maximum of 1. All of that works fine.But I ALSO want to add a custom validation so if the respondent chooses a specific option, they get an error message (that option is sold out). I know I can just remove that option or use display logic to prevent it being displayed at all, but I want that option to remain on the list and for the validation to fail if it’s selected. I can’t figure out how to add that custom validation on top of the “each group contains” validation. The Qualtrics interface really makes it seem like one or the other.Appreciate any guidance you may have!

Has anyone found a way to automate updating a contact list (adding or removing contacts) based on changes that occur in a Directory? For example, we have an API running that adds new students as they enroll, and we would like to keep a contact list up to date with those new students included in a way that avoids manually updating it. We don’t want to keep an external file updated and use Google Drive or an SFTP, since we already use API to keep our Directory up to date with our Student Information System. 

I know how to prevent the session expired message, however I have a customer who really wants to complete a survey but cannot because it is marked as finished in the directory. Since this customer has not completed any other surveys, can I delete them from the directory and all lists then add them back in and send a survey? Has any one had any success with this or have any other ideas?

I’m probably asking for the impossible but you are also so creative, maybe you know how to make this happen.Essentially, I want to create the table below as a question. A constant sum with two columns--preferably with columns AND rows summed if possible.  

Hello,I wanted to ask if anyone has successfully created a matrix table question with an uneven number of statements for the respective columns. I have attached a screenshot example of what it would like (See Attached). There would be seven statements total (in my example, business activities), but only three of the statements would appear for one column and all seven for the other.I know I can utilize the ‘Make Answer Exclusive’ for the first column and create a custom validation to limit the number of options checked for the second column. However, after confirming with the Qualtrics Support AI Assistant that this is not possible, I wanted to see if someone has figured out a workaround for this type of situation.Thanks in advance for any insights!Regards,Eric

Hello - I like to include an estimated completion time in our survey emails, but noticed that Qualtrics no longer auto-calculates this time in the home menu. It used to be right here: ! I know that I can manually calculate the predicted duration using this logic: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/survey-checker/survey-methodology-compliance-best-practices/#PredictedDuration But, am I missing a place where Qualtrics will calculate this for me?

Hi All, I have a survey which uses a csv file to populate embedded values used in a series of drilldown questions. The survey responses are extracted via a python script with “useLabels : True” set in the download request. Recently the survey was updated to add a new response option. Since that change, the API extract populates several columns with both answer text (STR) and recode values (INT). So I get text values and numerical values--which likely correspond to the csv file which populates the answer option. Is there a reason why our other surveys using the same structure (but have not changed) continue to export text labels without any problem, while the recently changed survey has mixed data types in some columns?Many thanks for your thoughts.

I there a way for a default response to a multiple choice and/or a matrix table to be locked for editing by respondents (i.e., read only)? For example, I want a response option in a multiple choice question to be selected and unable to be changed by respondents.

In a gauge chart, i want to set colour showing 1 to 2.7 as red, 2.8 to 3.7 as yellow,3.8 to 5 as green.The challenge is in display it lets you give min, max and < values. And that value is used to set the upper limit of red and lower limit of yellow, etc.Can we do anything so that we get the values as desired ?

Hi everyone,I have a client who wants to “blacklist” certain email addresses and plans to send us a CSV of these emails on a regular basis. As far as I know, Qualtrics doesn’t offer an actual blacklisting feature.This sounds opting these contacts in advance out of the Directory, but I’m not sure what the best approach is.Has anyone implemented a workaround for this?Any guidance would be appreciated. I have several web intercepts running in my project, but I’ve been experiencing strange behavior in how they’re being displayed, which led the client to request that all of them be disabled.These intercepts each have only one action set, and all of them follow rules similar to the example below.  In addition, I have repeat display prevention enabled, with the browser cookie set for 14 days. Even so, I’m receiving reports that the intercepts are being displayed every single time the user accesses the target URL.I’m not exactly sure how to proceed or where to start investigating this.Has anyone experienced something similar and can share their two cents?

Hello everyone,I’m working on a workflow that pulls a file from Qualtrics’ Automation File Service and passes it through Basic Transform before moving on to the next steps. When I run the call on my machine using the endpoint from the Qualtrics API documentation page, the workflow runs perfectly with no issues. When the client makes the same call with the same file directly from Databricks, we keep getting the following error:TRF_1 - Record 1 has no field brand! Please ensure your source file has the header brand. Funny fact: the file does have the brand header. 🥲 Has anyone experienced this or have any insights that could help?

Hi all,I’m trying to automate a daily survey send based on embedded data conditions in XM Directory.My goal: Search contacts where surveyA_status = eligible using Search XM Directory task. Send Survey daily to those contacts After they complete the survey, update their XM Directory field:surveyA_status = completed …so they don’t get the survey again. My problem:I am unable to update the ED field for the contacts found by Search XM Directory.I simply need to know:👉 How do I update an embedded data field in XM Directory after a contact completes a survey, using workflows in the new workflow engine?What’s the correct way to achieve this?

Qualtrics reports is not saving my edits. The platform indicates that changes are saved; however, when I log out and log back in, the changes were not saved.Any ideas or suggestions?Thanks!Chipper

I have a contact list with a series of embedded date fields (DA01_Date, DA02_Date, DA03_Date… DA14_Date). I am trying to create workflows that send SMS survey invitations to contacts on their scheduled dates. For example, I want to create a scheduled daily workflow that sends an SMS invitation to Survey1 to all contacts where DA01_Date = today’s date. (Note that this would not be triggered by a previous survey response. It’s just send survey X to a person on their assigned DA01_Date.) I am surprised by how difficult this seems to be via workflows. In many cases as I’m trying to work this out, the issue that I run into is: How can I use my own directory data as the data source for a task? What am I missing? How would you set this up?

I have a survey where we need to use an anonymous link, but we are embedding certain details into the query string to give us certain details.  The link is something like www.survey.com/?D=YYYYMMDD&T=HHMM, so the actual link would be something like www.survey.com/?D=20251120&T=1015. I want to use that data as date/time segmentation on the dashboards.  I will set those up using this process (https://www.qualtrics.com/support/vocalize/dashboard-settings-cx/dashboard-data/date-time-segmentation-cx/).I’m capturing both D & T as embedded data with a value that is being set by the URL.  I added a separate embedded data field called FormattedDate and another called FormattedTime so I can save them as YYYY-MM-DD and HH:MM, then I added a third embedded data value as DateTimeCombined, and just added the FormattedDate & FormattedTime together, separated by a space.That would give me the data in a YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format.  However, I can’t figure out how to do the formatting on th

The document on the right is the working document that I need to make into a Qualtrics survey. I would like "All under the supervision..." to show up as a line, like a statement, but I do not want the scale points to show on that line. Is there a way to go about this within a single matrix table? I can always just break it out into its own question but ideally I would keep it within single matrix table question.
