Hello everyone,I am designing a survey in Qualtrics and would like to customize a later question based on a participant’s earlier choice.Q2: Which weekend trip would you go on? The weekend trip to Wyoming, for which you spent $600 The weekend trip to Colorado, for which you spent $200 Later, I have:Q8: How much did the total trip cost?For Q8, I only want the trip name to change depending on the option selected in Q2. For example: If the participant selects Wyoming, Q8 should display: “How much did the total trip to Wyoming cost?” If the participant selects Colorado, Q8 should display: “How much did the total trip to Colorado cost?” The answer options will already contain the correct cost values, so I only need to dynamically insert the chosen trip name into the question text.What is the best way to program this in Qualtrics? Should I use piped text from Q2 or display logic/embedded data?Thank you for your help!

I have a dashboard that has a whole bunch of surveys mapped to it. I have an intern and would like to have them do some documentation on the mapping and am wondering if there is a way to export the mapped data showing in rows and columns just as we see in the dashboard map section. I don’t want to give a qualtrics user license/access so I’m hoping there’s a workaround here for them to be able to view the data as to which survey question is mapped into which field on the dataset.  

So, I created a web accessibility survey where individuals could watch videos to learn key concepts and then answer questions on those topics (quiz). I have learned through this experience that the "Check Survey Accessibility" does not check against WCAG 2.0 AA. I sent this survey out to our Web Accessibility Committee, and the first thing that was brought up is how it fails meeting the standard. "Powered by Qualtrics" in the lower right doesn't meet contrast ratio requirements, progress bar issues, and missing form element labels just to name a few. Does any one have examples of creating a survey that meets WCAG 2.0 AA 100%? Any tricks besides doing a lot of display:none for trouble elements in CSS?

At the start of the year, my organization changed sales hierarchy nomenclature and account reassignment (e.g. Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 to Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3). There is also not a 1 to 1 change - accounts have been realigned so Level 1 does not necessarily equal Tier 1.  Now, I cannot trend data from 2024 in a Tracker due to nomenclature change -- embedded data fields don’t match. How can I insert the new embedded data fields into the 2024-2025 responses without going response by response?  Is there a way in the Directory to update respondents? I know I need to add the new embedded data field into Survey Flow. Do I have to export all responses, insert new embedded data fields and import?

Hi all, I have created a single widget (horizontal bar chart) using this guide: https://www.qualtrics.com/support/vocalize/common-use-cases-voc/viewing-matrix-statements-in-a-single-widget/ However, when I try to weight the data, there’s no option. Top/ Bottom box metrics dont seem to allow it when using a matrix/ measure set? Has anyone had this issue? Thanks, Mike.

Hello Qualtrics team! We’re working in the layout of a ‘Multiple choice’ question and we want to be sure it’s correctly displayed.It consists on a  'aidedBrandAwareness' question and The works similarly to the industry standard for this 'aided Awareness' KPI: we prompt the respondent with our brand alongside the rest of the competitors (name and logo) so they can select those they recognise. For instance:Based on the survey design, only four brands (3 in the mobile phone layout) are clearly visible but users must scroll down to see the rest. Although the list of competitors is randomised, reducing the scroll-down would minimise the risk of survey items being forgotten (which could impact our KPI measurement) due to the survey's layout. We're talking about 11 different brands (=options) in countries with the fewest options, up to 15 in the country with the most.  Could we configure the question to minimise scrolling down for this type of question? I assume that it could be impossible to

I have a contact list of known respondants and plan to ask them a different set of questions 4 times over the course of a program. Some questions overlap and build off each other, so I’ve built all questions in one survey, using different blocks. I issued the initial questions in Block Q1 months ago and now want to email the same contact list the questions only in Block Q2 (some of these questions pipe in their responses from questions in Q1). How do I direct the respondants to ONLY Block Q2 while using the email distribution feature in Qualtrics? 

Hi,I’m trying to use the API to get mailing results from emails without surveys. I was using lists and Distributions under the XM Directory but, following advice from a previous thread, I successfully moved to a Stand-alone Workflow triggered by a JSON Event. It works perfectly for sending the non-survey emails, but I’m not any closer to my actual goal for getting the results.These Workflow sends are not appearing in my Directories > Distributions tab, and I cannot find them via the Distributions API. Do 'Email Tasks' in workflows generate a trackable distributionId? Is there a specific 'Global' or 'Workflow' reporting endpoint I should be using to see these results?" Any other ideas?

I have a branching email trigger (i.e., if eligible to continue send email A; if ineligible, send email B) at the end of a survey that was working perfectly for many weeks, but has been failing over and over in the last three days.I re-ran a bunch that had failed and they sent the second time. Then another one failed and retry attempts also failed. Why might these be failing now when they weren’t before (and no changes were made to the workflow or the survey itself)?

It appears Qualtrics has included it’s own Calendar Question Type. Yay!However, it looks like it also includes a time-interval formatting feature where people HAVE to pick a time. Currently there is not an option to exclude this.I contacted Support and they said maybe there is someone in the community that can recommend code to get rid of it.Would love some help. Thank you!

I am the brand administrator for a large university. If we delete a user account, can another account be created with the same username later? According to Qualtrics materials, the answer is no. But is there a workaround to this? It is entirely possible that a student leaves for a few years, and then later reenrolls and needs an account.We do not have SSO and have a Qualtrics Lite license.Thanks for any tips.

I’m planning a survey with a randomly awarded incentive. The odds of winning the incentive will change based on total response count. The first 1k respondents will have the best odds, then the next 1k, and then the rest. I was thinking of using quotas to branch into the different randomizers for each group. I’ve never used quotas before and I’m having a hard time getting it to work as intended. I created a simple quota that incremented if an embedded data field was populated. The problem is it incremented for all of the quotas rather than the first one. How do I create a single quote that increments when I survey is completed, then when that quota is fulfilled a subsequent quota starts incrementing, and so on.

Hi, I’ve got a matrix type multiple text entry style question. I have two data sources joined using the Data Modeler. There’s one field in each source that I want to compare and keep the lowest value. If I were in a spreadsheet, I’d just use a MIN function, but I’m not sure how to do this in Qualtrics.As a workaround, I’m currently using a custom metric that multiplies the two values. This doesn’t give the minimum directly, but it produces a number that correlates with the lowest value.For context, both fields have values from 0–3. Multiplying all combinations gives scores of: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 9. A score of 0 means both values were 0 Scores of 1, 2, or 3 mean at least one value was 1 Scores of 4 or 6 mean at least one value was 2 A score of 9 means both values were 3 This approach gives me the information I need for the dashboard, and I can use conditional formatting to color-code the scores back to 0–3. However, dashboard viewers will still see the raw scores (0–9), which is confusing.Is there a way in Qualtrics to bucket custom metric

I’m trying to do some calculations in the addOnLoad function, and then assign the result to embedded data variables which were defined in Survey Flow at the top of the survey.  When I look at the calculations (printing to console.log and then viewing with Inspect) they are correct.  But for some reason the assignment to embedded data variables seems to be going wrong.  In the Javascript code I have an array with 7 members, all initialized to zero, and for two randomly selected members I flip the value from 0 to 1.  There are 7 embedded data variables, and at the end of my Javascript code each member of the array is assigned to one of these.  When I look at the final array using Inspect, it’s fine.  But then the embedded data variables are wrong.  In each case 2 of the 7 are indeed set to 1, but it’s rarely the correct 2.  But sometimes it is correct!  Maybe random chance??Here’s my code:Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){ /* this function will randomly select two purchasing de

With the new AI features, is it possible to "pipe" output of Insights Explorer/AI Assist back into a dashboard (ie dynamic bullet points of findings available to the dashboard viewer)

I have a survey setup that uses our single sign on for authentication. We are able to pull in basic information like email and username for people that take the survey. All these people taking the survey are also in our employee directory so I am trying to see if there is a way once a user authenticates if we can then have the survey look at the employee directory and pull in more information like function, location etc.. I am trying to do this without having a participant list. 

In my Employee engagement project,  I have to share the survey data and analysis tab with my colleague , but I want to hide Name, email, uniqueidentfier from the collaborator data view. How can this be done in EX platform for EE project?

Participation is therefore no longer possible” in German?Currently, the following survey closing message is displayed when a participant clicks on the link of an already closed project: This assessment can no longer be completed.The term “assessment” is misleading and not appropriate in German. The term “survey” is much more appropriate.However, we believe the following survey closing message is more appropriate: “This survey is already closed. Participation is therefore no longer possible.” So the text in German should be: “Diese Umfrage ist bereits geschlossen.
