Matrix mobile friendly enabled, not working

I have a matrix table with single answer and mobile friendly option turned on. However, when testing the instrument I don't get the accordion screen for the mobile simulation--I still get the matrix. I've read the documentation (https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/mobile-survey-optimization/) and watched some youtube videos and I can't figure out what I am doing different/wrong. Any help greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to save a variable from loop fields to the Qualtrics dataset?

I am running a loop for a random 36 trials. Each trial (loop) contains 7 fields. Can I save each of those seven fields to be exhibited in the data file beside each trial data?

Ending a block upon selecting in multiple choice

I want the block to end once participants choose one of the multiple choices. Randomization without replacement

I have 4 vignettes that I would like each participant to see, in a random order, and then answer one set of questions (from 4 possible sets) after seeing each vignette. I have put all 4 vignettes into a single block and used the randomizer to specify that 1 vignette should be displayed randomly. Then I have the 4 sets of questions in 4 blocks and have used the randomizer to specify that 1 block should be shown. That all works fine, but the problem arises when I go to the next step, with is showing another vignette and another block of questions. My intention is for each of the 4 vignettes and each of the 4 blocks of questions to be shown once, in a random order (for 16 possible combinations) and they should not be repeated once they have been shown. However, once I get to the subsequent sections, it is still just showing any 1 of the 4, including possibly the one they have already seen. Using Contact Triggers to update embedded data in a loop and merge block

My use case is this: Each customer (respondent) has an inventory of products that are stored as embedded data. The products have attributes that are also stored in inventory for each product. e.g. Prod 1 has Name1, Description1, usages1, weight1... and Prod2 has Name2, Description2, usages2, weight2....up to 20 products. The customer can review the each of the products and it's attributes, and modify if needed. The updates made on the review will update the embedded data fields for that product. To do this, I set up a multi-select question (Q1) that asks the respondent which products they want to use. I have pre-populated this from the Name1 for each product in their ED. Then I have a loop and merge block set up with each of the products w/attributes as L&M fields. The L&M block contains Form questions (Q2), dropdown select questions (Q3), etc. which will display the attributes of each product by setting the default value to the L&M fields based on the loop. carry forward from multiple text entry questions

Hi I want to use "Carry Forward Statements - Entered Choices - Entered Text" from multiple Text Entry Form questions to one Matrix question. The issue is similar as described in this thread (https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/819/carry-forward-answers-from-multiple-questions) but I don't want to use display logic because I don't know how many answers I will have to forward and there could potentially be many. How to carry forward a text entry from a matrix question

Is it possible to bring the actual text entry from an "Other (specify)" item in a matrix question into a follow-up ranking question? Currently, it carries forward "Other (specify)" with the blank text entry box. Thanks! !

InputText attributes for textual Matrix Table

Have a matrix table for text entry that is 2x2 for entering results of testing 2 samples 2 times. Many users will be using mobile devices so we want to set the InputText attribute to 'number'. For a single text entry the code (thanks to TomG) is: jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").attr('type', 'number'); This does not work for the 2x2 MT. Have tried the following with all 4 of the addresses enumerated (1~2, 2~1, 2~2): jQuery("#"+this.questionId+"#1~1"+" .InputText").attr('type', 'number'); jQuery("#"+this.questionId+"~1~1"+" .InputText").attr('type', 'number'); Been searching for about 4 hours without finding anything. thanks

Java for converting minutes to hours

Hello, I have a value of minutes (the answer of QID1). And if this value is over than 60, I want to convert this to hours and minutes. How to make javascript 'click' apply to mobile device?

Dear community, We created a questionnaire that contains quite some slider scale questions. To prevent answer biases, most of these questions have added javescript to prevent the handle from being shown until after participants click the line. This works well and the survey indicates it is compatible on mobile devices. However, now that it's online we notice that these questions do not show the handle after participants tap the line (equivalent of clicking) on mobile devices. So it seems that the response is registered, but participants get no feedback and this is very confusing. Do you know a solution for this, to make the handle appear after the first tap on the bar on a mobile device? The added javascript is based on a previous answer from the community and looks as follows: ! List Contacts In Mailing List API appears to be temperamental

Hi all, I am working in R and I have used the 'List Contacts In Mailing List' API to retrieve customers from a mailing list. The list is pretty big, circa 400k which means I have to use pagination. My code works and I can successfully pull data into R. However, I have found the API to be very buggy and quite often returns a '500 Internal Error' responses. To combat this I have had to create a while loop, which continually calls the API until it returns a '200-Ok' response. I was wondering whether anyone else has used this particular API and whether they have run into similar problems? Many thanks Anthony

How to log in in Qualtrics Offline app (Android) via API token

I'm currently collecting data through the offline app with the help of 80+ assessors. I let the assessors download the app en log in via the API token. The assessors used to log in by double tapping the icon to show hidden fields. Since the update, the new assessors on Android tablets in my research seem to be unable to log in to the app using the API token. The hidden fields are not shown and they need to add a username and password. Double tapping on the Qualtrics XM logo takes them to another screen. When someone taps next to the box where someone can log in, the old log in screen appears for just a second. And then it goes again. How can I let my assessors log in, and fill in my instrument without giving them my personal password? EDIT: The assessors using an iPad don't get the log in screen with Qualtrics XM, but are able to click on the tool to log in. They don't experience any issues.

Question text disappears on editing

I have built my survey and now trying to organise the flow. When I go to edit a multiple choice question the text then disappears and I can't get it back (it does not show up on preview either). I am also finding if I make a new question to replace it, the text also disappears after entry.

An error occurred retrieving my data in the research core. What can I do?

This issue appears to be isolated to one of my surveys. There is not a large volume of responses (119 so far), but it is a lengthy survey. Usually, this issue is resolved when I refresh my account, but it's been persisting for a while now. What are some reasons why this issue occurs, and what can I do from a user perspective? !

allowing repsondent to answer until correct

I am very new to Qualtrics Survey platform. We have been using Immediate Feedback Assessment Tests for many years and I would like to continue using similar scoring now using Qualtrics. What I would like to know, is it possible to allow a respondent to answer a question until they get it right, with each incorrect response lowering the point value (Total if correct on first try would be 4 points, then 3 if they get it on second try, then 2.....)?

How can I report only first responses in Vocalize?

I have a survey that some people took once and some people took twice. I do not want to delete any of the raw data, but I want to build out a Vocalize report that only shows results from a person's first survey response. Is there an easy way to do this? I can't find a way to filter on Response ID, which would work.

Language Logic

Hello All, In Qualtrics we have a variable Q_Language which stores the language in which survey is being answered. So if respondent answered the whole survey lets say in language 1 and at last question respondent changed the language to language 2 in the dropdown box, then the language which will be stored in the data will be language 2. Similarly, the language quota will also be punched based on final language. Is there any way to override this thing or it is the limitation in qualtrics and we cannot do anything here? Thanks, Salim

Dates and open text in Side by Side Questions

I want to use the side by side question to run through a roster of children in a family. For each child I want to collect the name, date of birth in the format of MM/YYYY and gender. Here are my questions: 1. How do I configure one of the columns to be a date entry field? Currently I have it set up as a drop down for months and then another for years, but this is not particularly elegant. The content validation on a text field doesn't seem to be doing anything or helping with the display for text field as a date entry field. I understand that I may need to use JavaScript for this, but where exactly does it go so it is specific to that column only? 2. How do I get rid of the "Answer 1" in the column for entry of the name? I can't figure this out. If I delete the answer you can't enter data. Image of what I have now: !

Setting response option based on question above it in a loop

Hi Qualtrics Community, I've got another wacky situation I'm trying to deal with. I need to set a dynamic gender text-fill (he/she) based on the question immediately before hand, inside a loop. I know how to do this in other platforms but Qualtrics is a bit trickier. Below is the scenario: Q1 [text/numeric] How many siblings do you have? [Looped block based on Q1 - max 99 iterations] LoopQ1 [radio] What sex was this sibling assigned at birth? 1: Male 2: Female 3: Intersex LoopQ2 [text/numeric] How old is [he/she/your sibling] today? I've been trying a few different things out but this is pretty tricky because it's in a loop. My first instinct was to create a hidden text-fill question between LoopQ1 and LoopQ2 that sets its value based on LoopQ1, but I'm having trouble creating JavaScript that can dynamically set itself based on a question on the same screen. My attempt so far has to use some jquery to search for "ends with" but it's been kind of wonky. Any ideas how you would go

Determining loop row number via JavaScript for computed texts

Hi Qualtrics community - I have a complicated text fill situation which I THINK would be easier to deal with if I could add a JavaScript OnReady computation for the current row of a loop, but I don't know how to determine what row I'm on via JavaScript. Below is the scenario: Q1 "At what age did you start smoking regularly?" ___ age Q2 "At what age did you stop smoking?" ___ age [Begin Loop] Row 1: represents X to 17 Row 2: 18 to 24 Row 3: 25 to 29 Row 4: 30 to 34 etc. up to 70+ category CIGLIFE "About how many of the years from age [X] to age [Y] did you smoke cigarettes?" On loop 1, X = lower bound of the loop OR Q1 if appropriate Y = upper bound of loop OR Q2 if appropriate Example: if on ROW 2 and Q1 = 15 and Q2 = 23 then the text would read: "About how many of the years from age 18 to 23 did you smoke cigarettes?" I feel like if I could determine what row of the loop I'm currently on during the OnReady then I could update the text displayed on the screen dynamically.

Tickets - Can I show a file uploaded in the Ticket itself?

I am using Embedded Data fields to help display key pieces of information in the ticket. What can I do to get any files uploaded in the survey to display in the ticket view? Right now the only time I see the files uploaded are if I view the "Show Full Record" - which can get lengthy to scroll through. Suggestions? !
