Two question on the same screen

Hi all. I wish to create a page which on the left side the participant can see a scroll down text (descriptive question) and on the left side, he sees a randomly changing image. is it possible to create such a page with the survey tool? Thank you, david

Look & Feel Background on Selection

Hello Apologies if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I've set up a theme in Look & Feel with Style/Primary Color as Orange. This makes the buttons orange, and the selected options orange, as required. However, when an option is selected, the background of the page changes to light orange. How do I stop this? I've tried uploading a white image as the background, which works, but now an orange border appears around the question when an option is selected instead, which isn't ideal!. Any ideas on how I keep the background as white when an option is selected (while still keeping the orange theme)? ! ! Thanks!

Retrieve Single Survey Response

Hello Colleagues, I am able to download survey responses in zip file using Qualtrics API "Get Response Export File (New)". Is there any Qualtrics API available where I can retrieve 'single' survey response details using 'response id'? This way I can improve performance when 'Create Subscription' send me 'response_id' and I can ask for response details only for that 'response_id' only. Otherwise I have download all the survey responses in the zip file and retrieve response details for specific 'response_id' provided by 'Create Subscription'. Best regards, Pragnesh

Javascript API calls syntax

Afternoon guys, I'm so frustrated with API calls and sick of trail and error to figure them out, so I thought I could start a thread as kind of a source-of-truth for API calls. I think the API documentation from Qualtrics is both great and weak at the same time. Attached are screenshots of an email I sent to Qualtrics Support a few months back after spending countless errors using trial and error, making a tiny changing, then scraping the call and using straight JS to fix the problem. I'd love to borrow some knowledge from you fine people! Hence, this post. I guess I'll start by giving some demonstrations of what I've discovered on my own and giving some questions I don't have answers to. I don't have many figured out; as I said, most of my solutions don't use these because of a lack of understanding. Multiple Choice Question mapped to specific Salesforce Accounts

I am working on mapping a volunteer liability release form survey on Qualtrics into Salesforce. Each volunteer's account is the university which they attend. On the release form, there is a multiple choice question with the university choices. I am wondering if there is a way to map these volunteers (all of whom are new contacts) to have the account of their University.

How to visualise unselected multiple choice answer options in a widget

Hi, I hope someone has some suggestions to solve this use case. I have a survey with many multiple answer multiple choice questions. We use is as a diagnostic and ask clients to "tick everything you're doing". I want to have a master dashboard that I can copy as a new page, add a filter to isolate the client, and share this single-response dashboard (the client's data) with colleagues to see how the client is performing. The various tickboax options in the survey are like a checklist, where some answer options are more important than others. I want a way to visualise for colleagues the answer options the client _did not_ select (these will form the basis for recommended remedial actions). Is there a way to do this? I realise this is not quite what Qualtrics is designed for, so I suspect if there is a solution it will be an adaption or innovation. If its possible at all. Any and all thoughts are welcome - thanks

How to send respondents from Sawtooth survey to Qualtrics survey

I'm trying to set up a survey where respondents complete a choice experiment in Sawtooth before being redirected to a survey in Qualtrics. I need to be able to link the two surveys with a response ID or unique identifier. How would I generate a qualtrics link that will send them to the survey with the unique identifier passed in?

send 2 survey invites to customer with 2 e-mail addresses but keep on first complete received

We have a customer database that frequently contains the e-mail address of more than one resident of a given household. We would like to send a survey invitation to every member of a given household (each household has a unique customer number that would be the same for all household members), but wish to only accept the first completed response from any member of that household. That is, if we send survey invites to two members of a household, and both complete & return the survey, we want to automatically keep the first one received and discard the second one. Is there a way to do this?

Different languages appearing in Results report headers

I have a survey that can be taken in English or Spanish. I have created multiple Results Reports based on the different locations the survey is administered in (1 report for each location). Each of these reports was made prior to adding Spanish to the survey. Now 1 location has spanish responses and all of my reports have changed SOME of the question headers in the report to spanish. Only 2 of the question headers have changed to spanish in the reports but they have changed across all of my reports for this project. Does anyone know how to fix this without manually correcting each one?

Have one Intercept launch another

We are about to launch a new version of our website and I'd like to set up a "tour" of the new home page highlighting the new features and navigational components. My idea would be to launch a popover with a "Next" and "Close" button. If the user selects Close the creative goes away not to be seen again. However, if the user click Next the next item we'd like to highlight will be displayed using a different creative on a different area of the screen. Does this sound possible? Any suggestions are welcomed! Thank you

possible to join (as in SQL) two datasets in Vocalize?

I am trying to build a vocalize dashboard that will utilize two datasources - a survey in which the response to one question will be a unique ID, and a user-defined dataset that I uploaded as a csv. The choice list of ID's used for the one survey question comes directly from our company's main databases; therefore, the csv dataset that I uploaded to vocalize - which also contains a field with those IDs - will have a match to whichever ID a respondent selects. Is there a way to do a join, as you would in SQL, so that the two datasets can match up in the creation of the vocalize dashboard? Right now, I am mapping those fields into one using the data source settings for the dashboard, but all that is accomplishing is the vocalize equivalent of a SQL union rather than a join. The relationship between these two datasets is a one-to-many; for every unique response that will be submitted through the survey, there are several matching records in the csv dataset. My goal in vocalize is to use

Scoring a Translated Survey

I translated a survey that has scoring for multiple categories into Spanish, but when I take the survey in Spanish the scoring doesn't work and everything shows up as if the questions were not answered. I can't figure out how to make the scoring work when the survey is taken in Spanish.

Started as Free Text, can I switch to quantitative?

Hey all, So I started a survey that's underway, and one of the questions asks for the participant's age. I just started to look through the data and noticed that this is pretty annoying, and I should've use a different method such a slider or something. Is there a way to convert the free text into a qualitative measure? without republishing the survey? Or is this something I have to do on the back end in excel or so after I get the final data spreadsheet? Thanks. Best, Michael

How do I allow anonymous participants to create an ID?

I am running an anonymous study, but need to allow participants to be able to withdraw their data. I participated in a survey on Qualtrics last year, where I was asked to create my own ID number in case I wished to withdraw my data. I cannot find how to set this up. Please can anyone help/ point me to a tutorial? Many thanks

In Qualtrics Table of Contents, I want to disable the checkmark selectively for a block only.

The checkmark icon is displayed in the Table of Contents when a block is completed. To disable it for all the blocks in the survey, I know I can use this script. jQuery(".TocIcon").css("display","none"); But I want to selectively disable the checkmark icon for few blocks (based on their block flow ID). How do I proceed?

constant sum -> slider (Validation Type:none)

I used the code in the figure below to move only one slider, the other slider automatically moves to the corresponding position, and the values of the two sliders add up to 100. ! But if you move the first slider first ! and then the second slider, ! the data is like this. ! Just move one slider and the data is like this. ! ! How can I display data correctly?

Matrix Follow-up Questions

I am trying to do a large matrix with an open-ended question every time the individual selects _important _or _extremely important_ as a response option. ! I did this by creating a separate question for each response and using display logic. ! I ran into trouble because since I wrote the follow-up question multiple times, after the individual responds to the follow-up question for their _important_ response__it takes them to the follow-up question for the very next response option even if they did not select _important_ on that one. I tried to do a loop and merge and it appeared that it would not let me select only two of the likert options within a matrix. Any suggestions besides separating the matrix into all separate questions?

Specialized description using piped (randomized) choices from previous block

Hi, I needed to create a survey that does the following: 1) People are provided with a list of 20 adjectives and they choose five that describe their parent. 2) In a future block, I would like the five adjectives they picked to be (randomly) inserted into a text passage describing a potential new friend. In a way, this resembles a mad lib, but instead of users generating content (https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/1984/mad-lib-fun), I want them to choose from a finite list of words and then have those words randomly inserted into a future text passage (and not the choices they didn't choose!). Any help would be greatly appreciated! I couldn't figure it out from the typical piped text/display options!

Adding a page before the survey questions and adding sub-questions

Hi, I am very new to Qualtrics survey platform. I'd like to add a consent form page before the survey questions and a debriefing page after, before the participants leave the survey. I cannot find a how to manual anywhere. I also would like to have sub-sub questions, so for one question, I would like to be able to ask more questions based on their answers before going to the next question (if you chose (a), then when was...., and it was on xxx date, then what was...). I can insert a group, but I cannot insert another group under a group. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mitra

Can I score each block in my project separately?

I have organized my project as follows: Screener (ending the survey if people don't qualify) Pre-IAT questionnaire IAT Post-IAT questionnaire Each block needs to be scored separately because each block is a separate entity. Is this possible?
