Data Comparisons?

I have 3 different matrix tables that are identical in scoring and parameters, but are each evaluating a different product. I would like to create a results widget that compares the results of the 3 matrix tables in one chart. How do I compare the data from multiple questions into one chart, as a side-by-side comparison separating by each product?For example, users are evaluating 3 different LMS platforms and I would like to show the side-by-side comparison of how each LMS is rated on the matrix likert scale for each parameter (design, usability, course creation, etc).

Embedded data and Branch If codes

Hello guys. Thank you for the previous help on the survey. So we tested our survey with a couple of random people using the anonymous link. We noticed that the embedded data and the branch if codes did not work well with the link. For example, a person that is 6’9” tall with a weight of about 120pounds is expected to have a BMI less than 30kg/m2, and then get screened out of the survey. However, we noticed that the BMI calculation does not show up in the dataset and then these set of respondents were able to complete the survey, which shouldn’t have been. Meanwhile, when we previewed the survey with the same conditions, everything worked perfectly. We were absolutely kicked out of the survey and the whole calculation for BMI showed up in the dataset. This is weird.What do you think could be the problem with the embedded data and branch if codes using anonymous link?Thanks.

Add ability to choose which columns are exported as numeric values or choice text

This is related to  I’d like a way to export responses with certain columns being numeric values and certain columns being choice text. Currently, the only way I know how to do this is to export the data as both numeric values only and choice text only, then manually splicing together the columns I want.

Adding a table

I would like to create a slide that has instructions along with a table in which a user can enter info (dates and times). How do I do that so the table can have a non-editable row for labels, yet the user can use the other rows for their input?

Translation Certificate

I have a research compliance person that seems to have gone off the rails.  I am doing a survey, as a faculty member, t assist our local city with data on the public’s general understanding and knowledge of stormwater, the hazards that come with it, and the consequences of discharging stormwater into local bays and streams.  The city is required to do this every 5years, when they renew their stormwater discharge permit. This is my third iteration of  this project, the first one being in 2013, the second in 2018. No issues at all with the previous surveys. They were considered exempt research and all went fine.  This time the compliance office is still saying that it is exempt research but because we are using the function in Qualtrics that will translate the English into Spanish she want a translation certification form submitted, even though this is an exempt project.  Before I go an make an enemy of the compliance officer at TAMUCC, (hey, I am a tenured full professor, it is my right

Can I set up a series of automated emails inside a single workflow?

Hello. After experimenting with Workflows and its related tasks and conditions, it doesn’t appear the functionality I need is available. Maybe I’m missing something? Can anyone clarify if the following is possible using Qualtrics? Thank you in advance for your time and sharing any insight.Send an email to a contact based on the number of days before/after a specified date. The Workflow triggers appear to be only set for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually intervals --- not days before/after a specified day of the year via a calendar-based date picker or date chosen by a user inside a survey database. Create a series of emails inside a single Workflow --- these emails would each contain unique content --- and schedule these emails to go out on a specified schedule. Again, we need the emails to be sent out before/after a specified date. I understand a series of emails can be scheduled using a separate Workflow for each email. Workflow email, user saying not receiving

I have a survey that staff are entering an email address of where they want the survey results to be sent to.  There is a workflow to send the results to whatever is in that text box. I have a staff member who is saying she is not receiving the response.  She has checked her junk mail, cleared her cache, restarted computer.  I checked the data & analysis tab, and it looks like the email address is being entered in correctly. When I do a test, it comes right to mine, so I feel like it is working, but am running out of troubleshooting ideas for her. Any thoughts on how to ensure she will receive the workflow?  Thank you!!

Tracking Survey Referrals

Is it possible to track if someone forwards a survey to others? Ideally, I would like to promote my survey through referrals, anyone who refers the survey to 4 people will win a prize. I am not sure if this is possible to track in Qualtrics Dashboard.

Removing all "Exclude from analysis"

I have multiple long surveys where mistakenly we excluded from analysis several answer options in multiple questions. While I was downloading data to merge these surveys, I realized that these answer choices are not exported to the data file. Is it possible to export the excluded choices as well or to remove “exclude from analysis” for multiple questions at once from a survey?

Getting an error in results with query string

We are deploying several satisfaction surveys from our CRM. We want to be able to connect the survey response back to the respondent in our CRM. Since the email with the survey link is automatically deployed from our CRM we are using an anonymous link and adding a query string. We are using their customer ID#, and the query string is set up as, “?CustomerID=123456”. All of our testing shows that the URL is formatted correctly. We can see the full URL with the Customer ID#. However, in about ¾ of responses, the embedded data for the “CustomerID” shows up like the screenshot below: The first column should be the customer ID, but as you can see from the full URL, it is gibberish. However, if I go to this candidate’s profile in our system (we have had to ask for the CustomerID # since the embedded data is not acting as it should), I can see the email we sent, click the URL, and see that it is working properly, with the candidate’s Customer ID#. In other words, on our end, it looks like the

Is there a function to identify the maximum value entered in a numeric list question?

I have a numeric list question with 10 options and the sum of the total should equal 100%. I want to find the maximum value entered in this list. Is there a math function to identify that? If not, is there an alternative method to do so?

Hyperlinks with Piped Text?

Apologies for using incorrect terms - I’m fairly new to Qualtrics. Is there a way to create a hyperlink that links to piped text containing a URL? I am sending a single survey to multiple contact lists and each contact list has its own unique web page included as a field. Is there a way to create hyperlinked text (e.g., “click here”) in the body of the survey to take users to their contact list’s specific URL? I would ideally like the hyperlink to be in the text at the top of the survey form.

Deleting Responses During Survey

We are collecting people’s personal data in a survey in order to give them personalized feedback. But before the survey completes, we would like to change or delete those responses so that we never have access to people’s personal data. For example, one text entry question asks people for their weight (question name is WeightLb and QuestionID is QID236). How would you delete the responses to this question using JavaScript? Alternatively, we could just change all the answer values to 999 if that would be easier than deleting them entirely. We know that you can easily delete the responses after the survey is completed, but that would be too late because we would technically be able to see people’s weight responses, which would likely require a full medical IRB approval. However, if all the personal responses are deleted before the survey response is saved, then we would likely require a less stringent IRB approval. We have tried using jQuery and other approaches to delete responses, but

Multiple form field: Store values as Embedded data

I have a survey with +10+ form fields for text entry and I want to store each field as a different embedded data.I tried ${q://QID9/ChoiceTextEntryValue/1} , ${q://QID9/ChoiceTextEntryValue/2}… But only  “${q://QID9/ChoiceTextEntryValue/1}” worked well storing the value for the first fields. The other ones store empty values. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I can solve this?Thank you in advance for your help.

Generate two test responses waves simulating two years in the same survey

Does anybody know how to generate 2 distinct test responses waves for e.g. 2022 and 2023 in the same survey? I found the Q-PopulateResponse option, but it's not clear to me how to use this in the “Additional URL parameters” option. Is there an easier way?

Recorded date vs End date

Hello everyone, I would like to know what is the reason for having Recorded data - 26 of AprilStart date - 19 AprilEnd date - 19 April. If the customer finished the survye on the 19th April, why Qualtrics recorded the answer days after?Thank you :)

Changes in all blocks

Hi everybody,I am starting a new survey and while advised by a supervisor I am making many different blocks of the same questions (to randomize which block participants get later). I am making 120 of almost identical blocks (only a picture and a quote is different). Now I see the lettertype is different in one question and I miss a ‘r’ in ‘your’. Is there a way I make changes in all blocks at once? Or do I have to go through all 120 to change a lettertype en add a ‘r’? :/Thank you,Maurice

Random ID

Hi there. I’m just setting up a survey where I need an X amount of respondents, and I want them to have an individual ID. I was wondering if the random ID feature on qualtrics repeats the number given to respondents. For example, if 100 people respond will they all get a different number from 1-100?Thanks!

Phone number formatting tricks in Excel

Hi Everyone, I need to reformat moile phone numbers in excel so I can send a survey via SMS and for the life of me can’t figure out the right formula to get the right output with country code included. I have one column with the country code, another with the mobile phone number and the yellow column what I need the output to be - add country code at start, remove the 0 at the start of the phone number and spacing.I know how to combine two columns but can’t get rid of the 0 in column 2. Date Function

I’m trying to embed the current year in a question. When I pipe text from that Date / Time feature, I don’t see an option that only shows the year. I don’t want it to show, for example, April 25, 2023, I only want to pipe in 2023.  How can I do that?

Drop down list with a blank space

I want to make a question with a drop down answer option with a blank space in front of it.The idea is that respondents have an open field in which they can enter a number. After the open field, there should be a drop down menu with the options "Years/months/weeks".In the photo I sketched it out a bit.The blue box should be an open field where respondents can enter a number. After that comes a drop down menu with “Years/months/weeks”. Help me please :)

Survey Language

Hello! I have created a survey in English with translation in 6 different languages. I would like to post the survey on different websites/social media platforms and I would like to ensure that the survey language matches the language of the website/social media platforms so that the participants click the link the survey opens in that specific language (social media platform language) and not in English.  What is the best way to do that? Randomization order of blocks

Hi, I would like to randomize two blocks (see picture 1). All participants should see both blocks, eighter first the “sustainable diet block” or first the “healthy diet block”. In order to ensure that the randomization is equal distributed I checked the box “evenly present elements”. However, I am not sure if I have to specify anything within the option “edit count” (see picture 2). To be honest I do not understand what this option aims for. Does this mean that after one block appears four times as the first, the other one appears four times and so on?  Kind regards, Johanna
