Survey Platform

Hello all! I am designing a study where people are randomly assigned to evaluate profiles - half of which are of people named “David” and the other half of which are of people named “Jennifer”. Participants will then answer questions about these profiles (same questions in every condition). However, I want each item piped with the name of the profile they viewed (e.g., “What did you think of David [Jennifer]”?). Is there an easy way to do this?

Greetings we are trying to setup these Educause surveys:2024 Faculty and Technology Survey 2024 Students and Technology Survey…and I was wondering if anyone has already done this, and would be willing to share one or both as a QSF file? It would save a bit of time. Open to other suggestions to make creating the surveys in Qualtrics easier. Attached the two instruments for reference. Tx P

I am hoping to build a workflow that would have Qualtrics send a summary about survey engagement to a slack channel. I know how to send a notification about a new single response, but am not sure how to get started with one that would summarize the past 24 hours.

I am trying to make a question that displays answer choices from multiple matrices that were previously asked. Specifically, the question would only pull statements from each matrix if it was answered with a specific scale point within that matrix, and each statement pulled would be its own answer choice in the question. It seems I can’t use carry forward since that only works if I want to pull from a single matrix. When I tried doing piped text, it put multiple answer choices from each matrix (if more than one statement was answered with that specific scale point within the matrix) into one answer choice. Is there a way to do this without Javascript? I am not a coder, so I don’t think I would be able to write a code for this.

Hello,I am creating a survey with several levels of randomness, but I want to show the participant the same question later in the survey to validate their sample.In the survey, the participant is randomly presented 10 out of 20 blocks, and in each block, 1 out of 10 possible questions is randomly presented. (they answer 10 questions in total) I want to have an 11th question, where the user must answer 1 of the previous questions again. Ideally, this 11th question would be randomly placed within the original 10 questions, but it is acceptable if it is just an extra 11th question. Is there a way to do this in Qualtrics? (Also, I am just using the free trial account, without the full feature set)

Hi everybody,  On a monthly basis I am creating surveys that consist of 1400 blocks (with 2 questions each). I want 20 of those blocks to be randomly appointed to a participant of the survey. Right now I am adding all these 1400 blocks manualy to the randomizer but this takes forever. Is there a way to select multiple blocks and add them to the randomizer simultaniously? Or is there another way to speed up this proces? Thank you in advance! 

I work for a credit union that has about 50 branches. We want to have a QR code survey displayed in each branch that asks about their experience. Any ideas on how to have a different QR code for each branch that will identify which branch the respondent is at, but it all filters into the same dataset?I appreciate any ideas/suggestions. Thanks!

I am sending surveys to staff members and I have the date they joined the company (DOC) as an embedded field. Can I use this to calculate a filed which shows how long they have worked for the company. Ie to show date of survey minus DOC date as a number of months?Thanks

Hi all, I've created many surveys before where I display images using loop and merge which work fine, but my old technique doesn't seem to be working on my latest survey and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Or, has something about the way images are displayed changed in the last couple of years and I need a new solution?Here's what I do:-I list the image URLs (I tested the URLs, they work) as a field in the L&M array (picture #1).-In the question, I insert a dummy picture, and change the URL field to the L&M field code (picture #2).However, when I preview the survey, instead of showing the image, it just shows the end of the L&M field: "5}" (picture #3).Any ideas what might be going on? I've looked back in my old surveys and as far as I can tell, they're set up exactly like this and display pictures just fine.

I’ve looked through a lot of other posts where I think folks are trying to achieve something similar but I’m not sure if there’s a different way to do this because my scenario is going to have a lot of pieces of data to pass from the first survey to the second.I’m building a survey for employees to upload files (pictures) and a second survey where, ideally, I can bring in the URL for those pictures from the first survey as embedded data that I can pipe in to an <img> tag so that the images can be voted on for a particular category.In the first survey, I’ve set up a quota and logic to store each file as a separate piece of embedded data, so that I could use survey logic in the second survey how many radio options to display images for. And I’ve figured out how to pipe and image URL into a radio option.But I haven’t figured out how to get the file URL as embedded data from the first survey into the embedded data in the second survey so that it can be piped text in a multiple choice

Dear all,I want to make the text entry next to choice text instead of being two different rows, but I failed to do it through any Javascript code. Therefore, I was wondering if there any one know about the right code? Plus, how to customize the size of the text entry so that I could make it looks like normal in the phone model as well? Hi,I would like to create a automared way for users to receive a daily summary which contains the feedback commnets for the day. I thought about using a simple dahnoard page with a table and push thw informatikn there. However my solution has limitations around ability to export full size widgets 

How do I remove a checkbox from a question? We have a question where the answer choices are:YesNoComment (text box)So, part multiple choice and part text entry, which is splitting the question. The AI response said to check the box and hit delete, but that doesn’t work. Thanks!

Is it possible to add timing questions to the Maxdiff block of a maxdiff guided survey?

Hi everyone. I’m trying to figure out if there is a way to do the following and suggestions would be appreciated. Essentially, I want to have a bipolar matrix asked before respondents are subjected to some sort of treatment. The respondents would fill out the matrix like the one below choosing their responses. For this example, let’s say they simply chose the right most bubble for each statement. Then the participants would be subjected to the treatment and asked to evaluate the same bipolar matrix again. However, I would really like for them to see the responses they selected prior to being subjected to the treatment. So instead of a blank matrix to refill out, it would look like this but they would be able to select new bubbles if their opinions had changed.Is there a way to do this? I’ve been playing around with carry forward statements but it only shows the statements and I want the choices carried forward as well.

Since Qualtrics Simple Layout is now the recommended style for website surveys, I tried revising a current slider - 5 star question (from flat layout) and numbers appeared - a ‘1’ near the first star and a ‘5’ under the fifth star.  An ‘*’ also showed up preceding the question.  Are these additions required to meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards?  Or can these elements be removed?  Thanks!

Is it possible to append URL parameters to a personal survey link in an email invite? I have tried 3 different ways, but each one is not making a successful link. The link breaks or is unclickable. Example of what I tried: ${l://SurveyURL}&ExampleField=${e://Field/ExampleField}  I have an intake form survey that upon submission, a workflow sends out a survey to a contact list with a personal link to each contact in the list. I want the survey link to have an embedded data field sourced from the intake form appended to each of the links so that when each of the recipients open the survey, it can use that value that was appended to the link. I don’t want to use an anonymous link because I want a reminder to go out a few days after to those that do not complete the survey. If this is not possible, I think the only other option may be to first have a workflow task that updates the all the contacts in the list to have the field set as embedded data.

Hi Community,I am hoping someone can help me with my survey.I have one survey with several blocks, and only one I would like to repeat several times, and when this block has been answered completed it will continue to the following block.For this specified block, I want it to be repeated more than one, the number of times it will be depended on each participant.That is, I may have participants where this block will be repeated twice and others may be once or five times.How should I indicate the survey in this field? In my case, I should ask my clients, how our different engineers did the job. For example, if I have one participant to my survey with 2 engineers (electrician and painter), this block must be repeated one for the electrical engineer and another one for the painter, and I must also include the name of the guild.I was thinking to include a date embedded with the number. However I don’t know how I should indicate the information releated to the guild.How do I program this blo

Hi communityAs you can see in the attached images, for a matrix question, in the Qualtric Results tab I create a horizontal bars widget... and as you can see it displays results correctly…This is my matrix question: In the Results tab: I wanted to set up a new dashboard with the same widget:Previously I set up in the data source configuration for this matrix question, a Desgloce…The problem is that the widget does not work in my new dashboard but it does work in the Results tab...Another problem I have is that I can't add Labels to display in the horizontal bar dashboard that I built new... Thanks for helping me

Hi community,I’m fairly new to Qualtrics and am wanting to set a word limit of 300 words on the piped text.I have piped text from all answers to 4 questions (which don’t need a word limit in themselves), but the overall length of these combined answers must not exceed 300 words.Could you please help?Thank you! 

In Simple Layout, the navigation buttons are aligned to the far right of the screen, with padding added to push the “next button” far beyond the edge of questions.  This design makes centering images, e.g. a logo, impossible.  (In the attached screen shot, the html to resize the graphic is being ignored, but that’s a separate issue.) My end-goal is to remove the additional right-padding and have the navigation button align to the right, or centered. I have seen the code from user @tom_1842, but it does not seem to impact Simple Layout; various code snippets for moving the navigation buttons also seem to fail on Simple Layout..Skin .SkinInner {width: 100% !important;max-width: 100% !important;} In short, is there a way to change padding (or make the container 100% width), and a way to move the nav buttons? (I’ve looked for a Simple Layout CSS guide, but have come up empty) Screen shot example 

I shared a retake link (Both to add a new response and overwrite previous). The link opens fine, and i get to the first survey question. However, when I hit the next arrow to move on in the survey I get prompted with "Sorry, an unexpected error occurred". Can anyone help me with this?

Currently, if a participant selects an answer in a single-answer question, he/she can’t de-select the answer. If he/she changes his/her mind or clicked the answer by mistake and wants to not answer the question, there’s no way to remove that choice. RedCap has this capability but Qualtrics doesn’t. It would be helpful to have this feature for the next version of Qualtrics survey.

I am trying to replicate the above form. I believe using a matrix table makes the most sense, but I’m unsure of how to include formulas and dropdowns in options.Is this possible?
