I saw on this thread how to ensure that only numbers can be entered for text entry:How to set a field to number only?I specifically used this solution to make it so respondents can only enter integers between 0 and 9:jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").attr({'type':'number','min':'0', 'max':'9'});However, I've noticed that a minus sign can still be entered (e.g., "- 5"). Is there some way to prevent this possibility?

I've got a survey with a drilldown and a matrix table. The drilldown is two levels, department and employee. The contact list has embedded data called "ExcludeEmployee". Upon entering the survey, the first question is the drilldown. I want to use the embedded data "ExcludeEmployee" to exclude that value from the available choices in the drilldown for the employee level. They should be able to see, not edit, the questionnaire and distribute them.They should be able to see the answers of their participants, but not from the othersI want to be able to see all answersI don't want to create a survey for each one. Hi, I'm currently trying to use Qualtrics as a tool for my MSc Thesis. I'm doing this by running a study that requires participants to recognize symbols in a background image while they are engaged in another task (text box is used). The problem is currently that the question is not centralized displayed in the screen and therefor not all symbols are visible (mainly at the top). Hi everyone! I'm having issues with a spacer element that I have used successfully in the past. I have edited the HTML and Javascript such that the image stays frozen as the participant scrolls down. This allows participants to view the image as they rate them on various attributes. I pulled the original code from Stack Overflow (https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46286498/how-to-have-entire-item-in-qualtrics-remain-in-position-when-scrolling) - I am not very familiar with either HTML or Javascript, unfortunately. The issue is that in both the preview mode and in the actual survey, and on multiple computers, the code to keep the image fixed works intermittently among the series of randomized images (each in a different block). It had been fully working in prior surveys (perhaps I did not randomize my blocks then, not sure). For example, if in the javascript, I put "$$('.image')[1]", it appears that the first image will not stay fixed, whereas all subsequent images will. If I put "$$(

Dear community,I am currently trying to solve the following problem: I have a Matrix Table question that asks for the importance of different criteria (rows) on a 7-point scale (columns; 1 = 'not at all important' to 7 = 'extremely important'). On the next question, I want to show another Matrix Table that only pulls in the criteria (rows) that the respondent considered as somewhat important, i.e., chose importance of 4,5,6, or 7 in the question before. Any idea how this can work?Unfortunately there is no way to do this with carry forward and add display logic. I think it might be easiest to add a function to hide statements (rows) if the answer on the previous question was 1,2, or 3. Not sure how to do this though.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,I built an experiment via Qualtrics that required a lot of "Embedded Data". This made my survey flow extremely complicated and error-prone. This also made the survey flow page unresponsive and slow. So I am now trying to find a more efficient/effective way of creating the same survey using JavaScript. Below is the experiment design that I have in mind.Essentially, the experiment is a series of slot machine selection/pulls.In one multiple-choice question, 6 slot machines (as possible choices) are presented.Each of the 6 slot machines have different point distribution. So when using "Reusable Choice" it seems to prevent the ability to change the setup of any of the choices. For instance say you want the "other" radio to be a specify in some questions but non-specify in others. I understand I can just create two and hide one in one case and hide the other in another. However, this affects randomization when you want a consistent randomization across all questions with the same list. Also there is no native way to make an option exclusive. it make sense that a reusable list would contain exclusives. Since there isn't a native way I was looking for help to create javascript, that would deselect all checkboxes in the same column when the "none of the above" option is selected in that column. I am also fine with using another type of question, something like a list, and hand over the answers to this question.Not the real question, but to illustrate the problem: Imagine a "What movies do you have in your collection?" question. Hello,I was trying to use the exponential function in the following formula, for example, in my project in Qualtrics:exp(-2.15+2.4*Age-1.7*Gender)Alternatively, if I can get the formula for using natural logarithm formula that will work too.These, with a denominator, will help me compute probability in the auto calculated filed in Qualtrics and when, for example, I enter the values of Age and Gender, I should automatically get Probability of Y.I wasn't sure about how to do this or is there even another alternate way that I can use to do this? I want to add a question to a survey and believe I need to add some code to an existing question type. The task: Respondents will be presented with a list of words of objects (e.g. brush, tent, camera) and their task is to group those objects into whatever groups they want. I am interested in the number of groups they choose to create. That is, whether they choose to divide them into 3, 5, or maybe even as many as 9 different groups. Note that the number of groups is really the only thing I am interested in here. Please see my sketches which (hopefully) help illustrate the basic setup of the task. In my examples, the respondent chose to divide the groups into three (3) groups. The drag-and-drop question type is closest to what I need. But the problem is that it requires me to specify categories in advance, and I can't do this because it is up to respondents to create unnamed groups themselves. Hi, I want to show 40 pictures with names to the participants. The order of the pictures and the pairs (picture + name) need to be randomized. At the moment I have each picture as a single question randomized with question randomization. I put the names in Javascript (I`m totally new to Javascript) and they are drawn randomly. But the names can not be drawn completely random as I have two lists of names and want certain pictures to be paired with any (random) name from list 1 but not list 2 and the other way around. In addition to that I need each name to be assigned to one picture just once. How can I achieve this? Hi. I am in the midst of creating a survey for parents of infants. The survey is going to designed in such a way that depending on the exact age of child (i.e. months and days) they will be directed to answer different blocks. While we are ok to ask the question "How old is your child? ___months ____days", we would prefer for it to be an automatic calculation for the sake of accuracy. But due to the nature of the research, we are not able to have a question asking for the child's date of birth (as it is an identifier and therefore it cannot be dumped out with the other data). Thus I was wondering if there is a way to use a custom code to have there be a form of age calculator, where the parents can put the child's DOB, and it would automatically calculate the age of the child, and have only that age be captured in the output (and disregard the date of birth they had entered).Thank you!

I had a question as to whether I could create two sets of data where one set would cointain 4 seperate phrases and the second would contain 5 separate phrases. I would like to randomly choose one phrase from each of the two sets and have it display it as a piped text in the answer choices of a particular question. Hey guys, quick question: I want to create an interactive graphic using SVG and javascript. So far so good. I created the graphic in Visio and wanted to insert it into the HTML part of the question, but apparently it exceeds the maximum amount of characters "You have exceeded the size limit of 20000 characters. Please reduce your text.". However, smaller SVGs work. Also, I cannot upload SVGs as graphics. Is there a workaround I'm not aware of? Thanks a lot for your help! Steven

I am having trouble getting the date from my date picker into ICS format. I need to change the format then send it to embedded data. My date picker format is MM-dd-YYYY and I need it to be YYYY-MM-dd. For example, change 04-02-2020 to 2020-04-02. Then save that new ICS format date as an embedded field. Any help would be much appreciated!

I have a sort of strange query. I've created a survey that is designed for children but will be sent to adults who are parents. The information for the survey and corresponding parental consent boxes are in BLOCK 1. Once they complete the consent, the parents are taken to BLOCK 2 which is sort of buffer page which tells the parents to either hand the device they are currently using to their children which will take them to BLOCK 3 which has a child consent form.My issue is that...on BLOCK 2 (buffer page), I want to also give an option for parents to let their child scan a QR code with their own personal devices so that they can go straight to the child consent page (BLOCK 3). I cannot seem to find a way to make the url for each block unique so that I can make this happen. I'm not sure if this is a session ID issue.I'm not super technical but I think I could do some code edits if this is what is needed to make this happen.Any help would be greatly appreciated.THANK YOU!

Hello everyone, I have a table I am trying to port into Qualtrics and am having a lot of trouble figuring out how to do so.Basically it's a number of Likert tables, but the last column of the table is a text-entry for a Score, and then the last row of the table is also used for text entry to enter a score. I have attached a picture of one of these tables.I've explored every option I can, but cannot find a way to implement the table as shown, or to find an elegant way to do so.
