Hello! I'm trying to add java script to descriptive text questions so that participants can press one of two keys (1 or 0) and the survey will automatically progress to the next question and the key that they pressed (1 or 0) is reported in the exported data file. With my current script (image attached) I have found that pressing 1 or 0 does move the participant to the next question (yay!) However, I'm having trouble with the exported data. Originally, the questions that I added script to (Q3 and Q6) were both descriptive text questions. In this data file, there was no column for Q3 or Q6. Then, I tried changing Q3 to a multiple choice question and retaking the survey. In this data file, there was still no column for Q6, but there was a column for Q3. However, there was only Q3 data recorded for the 3 previous attempts (in which Q3 was a descriptive text question) and there was no Q3 data for the most recent attempt (in which Q3 was a multiple choice question). Hi guys, I was hoping you could help me with the following problem. In a Qualtrics survey, I would like to embed videos that are originally on Vimeo. I do this by using the following HTML code: src="URL" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" allowfullscreen> And although the original video has the option of playing full screen, this option seems to disappear when embedded in Qualtrics (or at least in the preview version of my survey). Dear all, I have the following problem: In my study, I want to present participants with 10 predictions from a statistical model, therefore I use loop and merge on this block. Now I want people to be able to change the statistical model prediction if they want to, but only by a certain amount. Ideally, I would like to use a slider question with a scale from 1-10, and the values that participants could choose should be between the statistical model prediction (loop & merge value) - 0.5 and the statistical model prediction (loop & merge value) + 0.5. If this is not possible, another form of question type would also work. In any case, I need a custom validation that allows participants to enter a value up to one decimal between the loop and merge value +- 0.5. As you can see in the attached picture, the model prediction is 6.3, and I would like people to be allowed to answer within the range of 5.8 and 6.8. Does anyone have a suggestion? Hello Community, I have a question where I have 7 answer choices. 1. Hibiscus 2. Rose 3. Sunflower 4. Leaves 5. Stem 6. Root 7. Trunk Three of the answer choices (1. Hibiscus, 2. Rose and 3. Sunflower) are under the same group called "Flowers". These answer choices have a choice text called "Flowers" that I am showing in a later question where these choices get carried forward (using the Carry Forward option). Flowers 1. Hibiscus 2. Rose 3. Sunflower 4. Leaves 5. Stem 6. Root 7. Trunk In a later question, like I said, I am carrying forward the answers selected from the above-mentioned question. The three answer choices, namely Hibiscus, Rose and Sunflower that fall under group "Flowers" are being shown as "Flowers" (choice text) in this later question. But if a respondent selects all the three choices, namely 1. Hibiscus, 2. Rose and 3. Sunflower, I will have three times "Flowers" printed, which will look odd. How can I have have "Flowers" carried forward only once in the choice

Hi, I am dynamically showing statements in a multi-choice question based on the selections of previous questions. At this question, if the number of statements displayed is less than or equal to 5 then they get auto coded and the Next button is auto-submitted. And if the number of statements displayed is more than 5 than the respondent should be able to proceed only after selecting 5 statements. So, I am trying to hide the Next button on Page load and when the number of selection is equal to 5 then the Next button should be displayed. I was able to code the first part when the number of selections in less than or equal to 5 but having issues with the second part and not able to dynamically show the Next button on 5 selections. How can I highlight or mark (X) rows in a matrix question that don't have a response? On the validation screen, I'd like an X, a box, or a highlight feature for the items not answered in the battery (e.g., scaled battery)

I have participants doing a task where they must alternatively type 'a' and 'b' a certain number of times. I have everything working appropriately and have a timer that checks to see how long they work on it. What I need is to disable the participant's ability to continue until they hit the prescribed threshold. Here is what I've been trying to work with. This works fine for the task but not for forcing them to get to the threshold. In this example, the threshold is 500 times. I have a simple matrix question with 4 scale points and one statement.! The following matrix question has the same 4 scale points but has display logic set to display between 10 and 43 statements. I would like to set the selected scale points for each statement displayed to be the same scale points selected for the previous question. I would like the respondent to be able to edit these.! I have tried to use code from 3 similar discussions with no luck. I haven't been able to find enough detail to try an embedded data option but I'm happy to try anything at this point. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I've found lots of code for recording response time but it's always embedded in code that does something else too and I don't know enough to separate out the code I need. I'm a complete newbie. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi everyone, I am used a template to set up a Conjoint in Qualtrics using JavaScript and HTML. The Conjoint itself works perfectly, but I need Javascript to also save the attributes it showed to the respondent in the csv file because otherwise I cannot analyze the data. I also have code for that but somehow it does not work, it would be really great if you guys could have a look and help me out! A conjoint is usually a table showing two profiles that consist of randomly selected attributes. I need to know the attributes the respondent received for the analysis. I'd like to insert a checkbox into the question text (not as a choice). My question currently has this HTML: `<input type="checkbox"/> Some text` It looks like this in the Survey Editor: ! But the actual survey doesn't show the checkbox: ! When I inspect the code, it says: `<input type="checkbox" class="QWatchTimer">Some text` Is this an issue with underlying CSS? How do I override it? Dear Qualtrics Community, I need help using Java or any other type of language that allows you to carry over answers from a drill down question. My drill down question has 5 fields, I need to capture the user choices, but Qualtrics tools don't have this capability. I believe using Java, CSS might be the answer but I need help. I tried many different options to go around this but nothing works. Please if anybody has come across this issue in the past please help! So, I'm trying to format my text analytics query so the logic has several options to look for, but I would like them to be used with a NEAR operator. So far, everything which way I've tried has not given me accurate results. I can make the search more broad, but I'm trying to pin point what I need to see. Here's what I'm wanting the results to provide, and how I'm currently formatting the query. Any help and insight is much appreciated. What I want: To see any results where someone said they were promised an adjustment/credit, and have not received it yet, and not when someone mentions their credit was pulled/checked. How I'm thinking it should be formatted: ((was told OR promised) AND (credit OR adjustment))~6 AND NOT ((credit AND (check OR hit OR ran OR pull))~3 Is this type of logic possible and if so, how would I format this correctly? How do I reduce the distance between 2 questions? I have 1 MC question but 3 possible descriptive text questions above it. The descriptive text questions dispaly one of the options based on the choices of the previous question. Doing this method makes the survey langauge more flexible but the gap between the questions isn't great to look at.

Background: There are some instances where we use custom CSS to remove the logo from our dynamic theme and add in a different logo. Historically this process has only been done on certain surveys and all the contacts received the survey with the edited look and feel. Now we have a survey where we want some contacts to have our dynamic theme and some to have these unique themes with the alternate logos. This will be an ongoing survey that is sent out when triggered. Is there any way to trigger the CSS to changed based on contact information?

Hi I have a manipulation check that is basically binary (i.e. correct or incorrect response). We would like to count the validation fails in order to demonstrate that participants weren't just guessing and pushing or being pushed forward into the study. We tried javascript and an embedded data but it requires a refresh of the question and that does odd things. One solution we found was to branch if the validation fails and increment an embedded data counter. However we need to return participants to the question until they get it right, and it seems the only way to do this is to copy the question and put the copy in the branch logic. In other words: a participant sees Q1 and fails validation; in the survey flow branch logic the embedded data counter gets incremented and the participant is sent to a copy of Q1; repeat until they get the manipulation check correct. If possible, we'd like to avoid the messiness of extra copies of each manipulation check. Any suggestions? Thanks! Chris

Hi all, I'd like to create a function which would put the number of times printscreen key was pressed into the embedded data. However, I found out that I'm not able to change the value of the embedded field from my event listener. I tried to change HTML of a given element from my function instead and it didn't work neither. There are no errors in the console. Both lines of the work in case they're outside the event listener. Would anyone have some ideas how to solve this? So I've set up a loop and merge block with 13 items in field 1; within the block there are 9 questions. I want the survey to randomly present each question with the field option randomized each time. At the moment the survey presents one of the 13 items in each of the 9 questions, then another item from the 13 with the 9 questions. How could I get so the item from field 1 is randomized and the question is randomized so it's completely counterbalanced? It may have to be a coding job but that isn't something I would know how to do! Thanks!

i need to expand the droppable area of the "drag and drop" box for a rank/order/list question (because I have so many selectable items, you can't actually put one of them in the box when you scroll to the bottom of the list. i've seen other codes that expand the size of the box visually, but the droppable area remains the same. any code or suggestion is helpful. im a bit of a novice when it comes to coding, but as long as i know where to put it and the variables I need to change, i'm good.
