2 Questions: How do I create a line break in my email trigger embedded data without understanding Javascript? I have programmed embedded data that only populates if a response is present. So the way I have this laid our I get lots of empty spaces. I’m trying to embed a survey in a website contact page where the background of the page is an image and the container the form is in is a different color with a % transparency over that background image. I can get the custom CSS to work in the preview, from what I can tell,  but then when I publish those aren’t being applied. It appears that the background color selected in the Look & Feel tab is still overwriting it. What I’m trying to match:What it looks like in Preview:Note the background is #FFFFFF, that seems to be overwriting the Custom CSS even though the preview shows the custom styles being applied.What the Custom CSS looks like:The background color for #page and the background image for body seem to be working but only in the preview.What it looks like published….

Hi All,I need to build a date of birth question.  At first I tested out a calender datepickr option but found the years too fiddly for if you need to go back to 1940’s it’s going to involve alot (!) of clicking the down arrow on the datepickr.  So my next option was to use a dropdown list.  I found a handy matrix question from the Qualtrics template library with some handy code in it to control leap years etc. and so went about tidying it up and improving things. I now have something like this (see below pic). The problem is the years start at 1900.  Our guests age range is rather wide and so even though I could probably start it off at 1930, it still means a lot of years and therefore alot of scrolling. I thought I could set a default (eg. 1980) and when you click on the dropdown it would scroll to this so that it was in view.  However my solution so far is not working well as I have to open it, then close it and open it again to make it work.  If there a fix for this?  I’ve also trie

Hi I have a question in my survey which needs to pull through a previous (numeric) response from another question. I perform some functions on the response then pipe the one of the values depending on another constraint. Some of the values may seem irrelevant. For the ones I care about I have tried creating embedded variables in the api but they either aren’t working or the output isn’t being displayed through the piped text. I’m trying to remove the border from each section of a form question. I can remove them if I change this CSS but it ends up changing all the questions in the survey. I know javascript is the way to do just the single question, but I’m not sure how to write the javascript to hide just the border of this individual question. Here is the CSS that I was changing that was hiding the border. Unfortunately I haven’t found anything with the QID so I could just copy and paste to CSS or I would do that on this question. It is showing up as QID5.blockquote, body, dd, div, dl, dt, fieldset, form, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, legend, p, pre, td, textarea, th { margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none !important;} 

How do I resize a drill down text box? It doesn’t have the expanding option in the bottom corner.  

 Hello! I am trying to grab the e-mails of users within a specific segment in one of our directories and then pipe those values into a dropdown field of a survey. Making the web service call works fine, and as you can see, it pulls the users (0,1,2,3,etc.) Where I’m getting stuck is trying to take all of these values and “loop” through that email field to have it show all of the distinct values in the dropdown list within a survey. Is this possible to do this? If it is,  would anybody be able to provide guidance on next steps to take? Or am I going about this completely wrong? I appreciate any help that can be provided. 

HiI’m trying to integrate a survey (survey sparrow) into a qualtrics survey in order to simulate a chatbot (within the survey). The embedding works out fine. However I want to match the respondents of both surveys. How can I match the IDs of the two surveys for each respondent? Thanks for any clues! 

 Hi all, sorry about the huge image. I am trying to change the slider above to minimise the amount of space between the actual slider and the scale above it as it doesn’t fit on the screen.  I have tried this CSS code:.Skin .horizontalbar table.sliderGrid {margin-bottom: 1px; margin-top: 1px;height: 1px;border-spacing: 1px;}I can increase the size, but not make it any smaller. This needs to be done with embedded data which contains the text of the default choice, i.e., the actual text value of the options. Hello, I've tried searching, and found one person asking the same as me, but the JavaScript suggested in the answer doesn't work. I have six options for a question, and I want to ask people to select their top three from these options, in ranked order. The previous survey software we used would let us do this by using a lickert scale, but only showing 1, 2, and 3 as column headers, and limiting the number of options that could be selected. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to do this on Qualtrics. The closest I've come is a drag and drop rank order, but this includes all six options, or a lickert scale from 1 to 3, but I can't restrict answers to just three options. I feel I must be missing something, as this is a common type of question, but I am totally stumped as to how to get this to work. Any help is much appreciated. Hello, I have a loop and merge question with a list of 54 items. I would like to only show 6 of them per participant. I know that there is a built-in function in the loop and merge where I can enter that only x (in my case 6) of the total loops shall be shown.  However, I guess then Qualtrics randomly picks 6 every time. Is there a way to balance the options shown? Such that at the end each of the 54 items was nearly evenly shown over all participants? Basically the same as having evenly balanced treatments.Thank you in advance!

Hello all!I am back again with another question relating to my word search.For some reason, it seems that less than HALF of my participants were able to finish the survey without completing the word search task. There is a timer on the page, and I have noticed that you can choose to click the next arrow without actually doing the task.How do I apply a forced response to the coded task? What sort of validation do I apply so that the page can not be skipped?

I am trying to remove these margins so I am not waisting any white space. I tried everything and failed. Please help!

I have this question setup of Form Field question type. I want to show “Character Remaining” functionality on Event Name and Event Description. The Event Date has validation on it already so the user enters data in the Date format only. For Event Name and Event Description, I want to show the Characters Remaining  when user starts typing in the textboxes. Dear all, I have a problem with branching using embedded data. Even if in the example I set two embedded variables with the same value when I try to use this in a branch it does not trigger the branch (see screenshot). Can you see what I am doing wrong? The flow I am working on is much more complex than the example I provide. However, since even this simple example is not working I am feeling like I am missing something fundamental. Thank you for your help. Enrique
