Default choices

Hello everyone!Is it possible to remove "default choices" from question's behavior? Because of this function 'force response' doesn't work for my survey and respondents can just skip this question

'Redirect to a URL' setting using embedded data piped text ONLY

Once upon a time (at least as of June 2019), we were allowed to simply use piped text for the 'Redirect to a URL' option in the Survey Termination settings. So I could simply enter ${e://Field/ReturnURL} as my 'Redirect to a URL' setting (where ReturnURL is an embedded data value storing a URL to return the respondent to). This stopped working as of July 2019 on the Survey Termination settings but was still allowed on the End of Survey settings in the survey flow. Simply being able to use an embedded data value as the 'Redirect to a URL' setting is extremely useful. I have users coming to the same surveys from varying sites. I use the ReturnURL embedded data field to tell me the site a user is coming from and where I want to redirect them to once they have submitted the survey. My ReturnURL may look like: `https://[some host]/router/?UserMode=normal&AppSource=localv1&routeIn=[some survey ID]&rid=${e://Field/ResponseID}&sid=${e://Field/SurveyID}` Notice that I also include piped

How to have survey respondent take the survey multiple times and keep a common ID for all responses?

Hello Qualtrics Community,I have a survey that the respondents fill out multiple times during the span of a week, 3 sessions in a day. Currently, each time they fill out the survey, a new responseId is created in Qualtrics. And I have no way to connect their data from session 1 day 1 to session 2 day 1 or sessions in day 2 for example, and other sessions as well during the week.I would like to have a single identifier for a single person, with their different sessions recorded separately, so that I can connect and analyse the data from different sessions together.Can anyone please suggest a way to do this? Copy details from form text box to another, blank when not checked

I have a survey where I need to get the SPOC details for 2 projects. I want to create a form where you enter the SPOC details for the first project and then if the SPOC is the same for the 2nd project too, then the detail needs to be copied to it. Else, it should be blank and allow details to be entered.Preferably, same page copy without requiring to go to another page.I tried using Carry Forward Choice & Piped Text but it does not work as I intend it to. Can anybody help? Thank you in advance.

Response showing blank answers

It seems like there are some people on the community that have also had this issue and no responses on how to truly fix it or that a solution has occurred. We had a survey go out with 5 open text box questions and an individuals response came back blank. All questions were mandatory/forced response and there was no skip logic or anything like that.

Hi, guys. There are over 300 questions in my survey but each participant will just finish 30 questions randomly. The current progress bar includes all questions, is it possible to set it as the actual progress? And is it possible to set the text as the format of "1/30,2/30...." instead of percentage.Thank you

Pulling data into another survey without using contact lists/emails?

Hello,I am trying to pull data into a second survey from MTurk participants, I can't use contact lists as MTurk does not allow us to ask for the participants email. Is there a way to embed data into a second survey using only MTurk IDs?

How can I allow people to withdraw from a survey and also end their session?

I have seen a number of methods to allow people to withdraw/exit from a survey. I have tried these and they work, except that the survey session is remains open as an open response. I would like to have the session closed and recorded once the person has withdrawn. Is there a way to do this?My use case is for people responding to a survey using public access terminals, e.g. at a library. I need to allow for multiple responses from the same computer, but I need to ensure that the next person clicking on the survey URL is taken to a new session at the beginning of the survey. If a previous respondent has just abandoned the survey or withdrawn with their session still open, the next person will be taken to where they left off. I am using the same survey for other people not using shared computers, so I still want to be able to have save and continue turned on. If there is a way to end and record a session as finished when clicking a withdraw button, that would be ideal.Thanks

Am I the only one?

When I look on the new UI for Default Choices, I see a circle with a blue dot in it. It looks like it is already selected (like in a multiple choice/single answer question). Does that throw anyone else off? You click the icon that looks like it's already selected to engage the Default Choices options. I think this is a very confusing icon...am I the only one?How about the "Import from Library" being only at the bottom of the block?I tend to want to "import" a question - specifically one for a calendar widget. And I'd like to put it in where ever I currently am in the form/survey...but I have to go to the bottom of the block, import it, and then move it where I want it. The new UI was designed to be more user friendly (and for the most part it is), but am I the only one that this annoys?

Apply filter to a scheduled report email

We collect data from different locations in a continuous survey In the first question the respondent has to fill in for which location the survey he/she is answering the questions (in some cases we use embedded data from our mailing list).Each month the manager of each location should get a scheduled report with the results of only his/her location. So an automated, monthly report for only one location, not all responses. At the moment it is only possible to add a filter when logged in, but not when creating and setting up a scheduled report (mailing a PDF). So adding this feature would be very helpful to reduce work.

Randomizer - fault in progress bar

Hi, I have three blocks in my survey but only one will be presented to each participant. Therefore I used the randomizer, stating to present only one out of three. However, the estimated response time and the progress bar do not take that into account. The estimated time response shows the time needed to answer all questions (out of all three, not just one block) and the progress bar skips immediately to 66.66% after the introduction (because it takes the two other blocks into account). Is there a way to change this? Thanks a lot!

What happens when on a User / User Type, you restrict "Allowed Responses"?

Hi,On https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/sp-administration/managing-users/user-permissions/ there's a description for the "allowed responses" restriction:Allowed Responses: Specifies the total number of responses a user is allowed to gather in their account within their organization’s license year. This excludes Preview, Test, and Imported responses. If a user exceeds their response limit, Qualtrics will still collect responses for the surveys, however, those responses will not be available to the user until the number of Allowed Responses is increased. Select Override to specify a different limit and select Unset Restriction to revert to the default restriction.Attention: This permission does not enable or prevent users from collecting or accessing their responses.It's espeically this "attention" point that raises questions for me.What WILL actually happen when you add a restriction on #responses for a particular user (type), and that user exceeds it?as the warning sais

Hi everybody, I'm having a problem with email subject template. Indeed, when I am selecting a template of email subject messages (that I previously created in my library) and then I send the email to a list of test, I received the invitation email with this subject « Survey qualtrics : null » instead of the email subject messages that I chose. I specify that I test the email with Gmail and Outlook client and the problem is just with Outlook client. Someone can help me to solve this problem please ? Best

Get multiple contacts information from the XM Directory

Hello, I have a use case wherein I need to pull multiple contacts from the XM Directory and show them in a tabular format. For eg. I have multiple owners with their employee details within XM Directory list and I am sending survey to the owners to check if the information of their employees is correct or not, if not I also want them to update the information and which should reflect in XM Directory too.My Question here, is there a way Qualtrics can check for same company id and get the information of all the people with similar ids in a tabular format. Here there are multiple owner and multiple (upto 50) employees per owner in same list.Any help would be great!

Autofill on a grid question based on previous response

Is there a way to autofill Yes on Grid question variable based on the answer to a multiple response question? Not all respondents will get the previous question but all respondents will get the grid question.

Piped text from a question

Hello,I would like to know how to do this the following in a Qualtrics survey,Q1. Asks to enter a number (e.g., How much savings you have)Q2. I want to show 3 answers in a multiple choice question where , Choice 1: 20% of the valued entered in Q1. Choice 2: 30% of the valued entered in Q1. Choice 3: 40% of the valued entered in Q1.I used piped text from a question function the choices, but it does not allow me to show a percentage from the value of the responses I received. Displaying only selected statements from a multiple answer matrix table in following matrix table?

Hi,Can anyone offer advice before I start crying over this survey? Apologies if this is simple, I just can't make it work!I have a matrix table with 22 statements and scale of three points, like so:I'm TRYING to make it so that only the statements that people select on this list show as options in the next matrix table question, but can't get my head around how to do it. Response did no show

Hi, I have a matrix question in my survey. I made it force response since the day I developed the questions (see picture below).I conducted few pilot studies in past few days. I am sure all participants answer this question. However, when I clicked on the "data and analysis" icon and read through the responses I have received, I found that there are quit a lot of participants' responses did not show the answer for this question! Block recipient data and response summary in email?

I'm testing a function by which respondents can refer family members to the survey. While the email trigger from piped text works fine, each email includes full recipient data and a response summary even if I have the 'Include Response' box unticked. Is there a way to action this so I won't have respondents' data/responses exposed to their family members?

unique end of survey message based on participant answer choices?

Hi Everyone.My goal is to create a screening tool for participants. I have about 10 different questions about various topics. For example:Question 1. How would you describe your mental healtha. good b. okayc. badIf a respondent answers "bad" to this question, I would like the end of survey message to say "It sounds like you could use help with [mental health resources]". Ideally, there would be a list with all the needs a respondent screened positive for (e.g "It sounds like you could use help with [mental health resources], [food security], [finding employment]. My initial thought would be rename the variable "bad" to be "mental health resources" and pipe this renamed variable, but you cannot pipe renamed variables. Any ideas?
