Translated Automatic Choices / Scale points?

Hi, In my Survey Options, I have indicated that my survey is written in Dutch. However, when using the Automatic Scale Points like Difficult - Easy, this is still in English. Are automatic Choices / Scale Points not adapting to the set language?

moving question between blocks

In the survey design stage, is it possible to move questions from one block to another? If I created a question in one block and then realize it would fit better in another block, how do I move it? It doesn't seem possible in the survey flow. Thank you.

Collect contact details using re-identifiable link

Hi All, I am building a survey that is anonymously collecting (_potentially_ commercially sensitive) information about a respondent's organisation, and then want them to be able to opt into being involved in a deeper research case study, which would then (and only then) require them to enter organisational and contact details. But for those that opt in, I need to link the survey responses to the contact details, so cannot redirect them to another external site where they enter unlinked contact info. Does Qualtrics have a technical workaround for being able to effectively store the contact details in a separate database (say, in another Qualtrics survey) but which retains some kind of personalised respondent code that acts like a pseudonym? That way the survey would still be anonymous. Thanks! Ed

Stated Preference Survey in Qualtrics

I am a researcher from Denmark. I am quite new to Qualtrics. I would like to do a stated-preference survey for my research. I have already generated the experimental design with the scenarios using the conjoint analysis. So, my intention is to only present these identified scenarios to respondents. I have 16 scenarios in total- of which 5 will be presented randomly to the participants. Could you please suggest how this can be achieved? I was looking for some documentation on the same. But, I couldn't find them. Could you please direct me to the same? If I have already identified the scenarios, should I use the "Conjoint Projects" add on package of Qualtrics?

Survey Flow Between Users?

I apologize if this has been answered, I've been searching for hours. I am trying to use Qualtrics to complete a workflow as a short term solution. I would like the survey to be partially completed by one person, and then based on the answers in the first part of the survey automatically route to a second person to complete and sign off on the survey. I understand actions, but I am struggling to find a way to make they survey move between people for further completion. Is this possible? Thank you so much for your assistance

Autoadvance on slider questions with timer visible

Hi there, I currently have a slider question with a 5 second time question above it - the timer needs to be displayed to participants. Currently, if you select a point on the scale within the 5 seconds it will autoadvance after the 5 seconds has passed. This is what I want it to do. However, I also need it to autoadvance if the participant doesn't select a point on the scale/doesn't answer the question. At the moment the time just counts down from 5 and then if no answer is selected the timer restarts again. I need it to autoadvance. If I remove the timer from being visible to participants I don't have this problem - it autoadvances after 5 seconds with or without an answer. However when the timer is visible to participants (which is what I need), it will not autoadvance unless an answer is picked. Ideally after the timer runs out and if no answer is selected I also need it to pop up with a box saying they were too slow. Any ideas how to fix/do this? Cheers

How to set end survey message to redirect to different URLs depending on eligibility

I am trying to set up our survey so that participants who are deemed ineligible are immediately redirected to one webpage, and participants who are eligible are redirected to a different webpage after completion. Currently, I have set the main survey termination option to redirect participants to one website. Then, I have tried to use customised termination points in the survey flow to send participants who are ineligible to the other website by branching their responses to customised end survey points where I have selected "override survey options", "redirect to a URL:" and have inserted the relevant URL. However, all participants are now being sent to the first website rather than to the URLs that I have set up in the survey flow. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? This method worked previously when we were sending participants to different end screens based on their eligibility, but the use of the URL redirection doesn't work with the same logic setup.

Hi, Does anyone know if it's possible to add a response to a survey through the API? Looking through the documentation, I can see how to update or delete an existing response, but I'm not seeing a method for adding a new one. Thanks!

Automatically Playing Sound

Hi all! I am looking for a way to play the audio file as soon as the slide is loaded (without requiring individuals to click on play). But, I do not want the slide to advance automatically. I just need the audio to play automatically. I found answers to similar questions from June, November, and September and none of them are working for me. Is it possible the javascript for playing audio automatically on load is not working anymore? I'm using the Google Chrome web browser. Any help is appreciated! Thank you in advance!!

How to make custom end of survey message mobile responsive?

Hello, I created a custom end of survey message however when I preview it on mobile it is not responsive and goes off the edge of the screen. The rest of my survey is fine. Is there a way to make this message responsive? Thanks!

Hover-over text not showing

Hi there, I am in desperate need of help. I'm trying to create hover over text for a set of survey responses. I've used the "span title" code - when I preview the survey and hover over on the mobile side, it does show the hover text. But it is not showing it on the computer preview side? They also do show up in the survey editor. Please help me! Thanks in advance, Jackie

How to split participants into one of two conditions?

I'm conducting an experiment, where I have two conditions, in condition 1, they have to memorize a list of words for 30 seconds and then type how many words they remembered. In condition 2, a different sample of participants has to memorize the same list of words for 60 seconds and then type how many words they remembered. My question is how would I set it up so that condition 1 and condition 2 are randomized, and no participants are assign to both.

Issue in the downloaded data by API

I was trying to download the survey data by API method using python. I just followed the instructions from https://community.alteryx.com/t5/Alteryx-Designer-Discussions/Python-Tool-Downloading-Qualtrics-Survey-Data-using-Python-API/td-p/304898 I successfully downloaded the unzipped csv file. when I see the data in the csv file and found that the data in the columns got truncated and appeneded with   as below. How to use a display logic or embedded data for a ranking question?

I have a ranking question that pulls in options to rank based on what answers respondents have selected throughout 5 prior questions. If they only select one option throughout all 5 questions, they need to skip over the ranking question. If they select 2 or more options then the ranking question should show up. Is there a way to use math operations (to add up the number of selected options) and embedded data in the survey flow that can then be used in a display logic for the ranking question?

Need to change text color to black throughout the survey

Our new dynamic themes use an ugly grey color on matrix questions and some other question types. Can anyone share the CSS for setting the text color throughout the survey. Text color is no longer appearing as an option for me in the Advanced Look and Feel editor. Thanks!

Can I join two surveys together, including display logic?

Hi all I have two long-ish surveys (about 100 blocks each, one question in each block, display logic for most blocks). Can I append one survey to the end of the other and keep the display logic working for both surveys? I.e., I want one survey, not two, but I don't want to have to import the blocks one by one or lose the display logic. There are no responses for either survey yet (except for test responses which I'd be happy to lose). I have tried to import the first survey into the second but this doesn't appear to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Chris

Adding Javascript?

Hello! I am new to computer programming and hoping to figure out how to add some Javascript to the survey I'm running for my lab. Clearly I'm out of my depth, but my hope is that getting this code to work with our survey might be a fixable problem. I think this bot-detection functionality may be available on Qualtrics, but our school account doesn't seem to have access to this user-friendly version of the feature. I would so appreciate any help or advice you can spare. Thank you for your time!

Can you remove the label from a single slider?

I am using a single slider for a 5-star rating question and don't want the question to be next to the slider. If I delete the text it deletes the stars. Any thoughts on how to remove it? Even better, any way to increase the size of the stars and adjust for mobile? !

Updating Survey to enable Back Button

Hi there, I am pretty new to Qualtrics, so I apologize in advance:) I created a survey in which the Back Button option was not enabled. I published the survey and sent it out to recipients. A few of the recipients are reporting that they skipped through the survey but now want to go back and cannot. I would like to now enable the Back Button, but am wondering if once I do this I need to republish the survey and send out another link to it. And if I do need to do this, will responses to the second link still be stored with responses to the first link that was sent? Or will these end up being stored in two separate places. Will my results get messed up if I used both an anonymous link AND individual links?

Hey, everyone. I have been using the Qualtrics email distribution tool to send out surveys using anonymous links. Since you can't schedule reminder emails using anonymous links, I had to go in and recreate the email invitation every time I wanted to send a push. I completely forgot to change the link type this last time from individual to anonymous and the push email was sent out using individual links. Will this mess anything up with my results? I'm just looking for a little peace of mind that I didn't just completely ruin a project :D Thanks!

Timestamp when an individual submits a page (clicks the next button)

I am attempting to record the time of when an individual submits a page (clicks the next button). I know how to do the timing to get how long the participant spent on the page, but I cannot figure out how the get the stamp of the date/time. I think it needs to be done via javascript.

Red "X" in multiple answer questions

Hi, I would like to change the checkboxes in multiple answer questions to show red "X"s instead of black "check"s which is the default. How should I go about doing it? I would prefer to use images for the red "X"s, so that I can change it to other images (e.g. smiley faces) next time, if needed. Thanks!

Problem with chrome (with safari everything ok)

Hi all! I want to redirect people from one survey to another depending on the language they choose (Portuguese or English). In the english survey (where I had the language multiple choice question) I put a branch (if portuguese selected)>added end of survey below>costumise> and put the URL link of the Portuguese form. In theory, this should be correct, but when the portuguese language is chosen, it goes to the middle of the english survey (in preview and using the link), which does not make sense at all. This happens with chrome. With safari everything seems to be ok. Anyone knows how to solve this?

Youtube video not showing up when embedded in survey

Hi, I embedded a few youtube videos into my survey, and while they're visible when making the survey, they do not appear (at all) in preview or published mode. I made sure that the videos are set to public and that embedding is allowed (in youtube). I also have a paid plan. Any tips?

How to prevent user input in Matrix table?

Hi all, I have a matrix table with 15 rows and three columns of text input fields. In each field, I defined default choices using piped text. How can I prevent users from changing these default choices and simply use the matrix table as an overview table? I tried: jQuery("#"+this.questionId+" .InputText").prop("readonly", true); That did not do the trick. Best
