Way to calculate overall confidence level for a survey

I am not a statistician, but at a recent meeting where I was reviewing the results of a survey and the report, I was asked what the confidence level was. Thankfully my manager quickly calculated it. Is there a way to get at a survey's confidence % interval/level without a big scary formula?

Has anyone used Qualtrics for a "speed dating" type function?

My office host an annual event where students met faculty and discuss research opportunities happening on campus. This is set in a 3 round speed dating type format. In the past we have always had faculty complete/sign up using one survey and students the other than match by hand which with about 300 students is a long process. I am new to Qualtrics and hope to learn more this week at X4, but I feel that there would be a way to utilize Qualtrics to accomplish the matching process. Students get to choose 3-4 disciplines from a list of about 80 and faculty choose 1 discipline to represent at the event. Any and all feedback, tips and suggestions welcome....thank you!

Using answers to survey questions in css/html/look and feel

Hi, I want to take the numerical answers to two survey questions. Then I will apply these to a known fixed mathematical formula (actually a multiple regression equation). Then I want to scale images in subsequent questions by this factor. e.g. Answer 1 = X1, Answer 2 = X2 scaleFactor = aX1 + bX2 + c For each image: width = width * scaleFactor Any thoughts about how I can achieve this? Thanks.

I have a Tableau workbook using a long-existing Qualtrics web connector as the underlying data source, and need to add some new embedded data fields to the workbook. Is there a way to add these new variables into the workbook without having to create a whole new web connector data source?

How to view the data you have made edits to

I have a survey that I need to export in legacy format. I am receiving a warning that Qualtrics will not export any of the data edits I made. My data edits were not tracked. Is there any way to quickly see my data edits, either within the platform or on an exported file? The survey has around 5,000 responses. Thanks in advance!

Autocoding Verbatim Responses

Does anyone have experience implementing autocoding for verbatim responses in Qualtrics (by auto coding, I mean giving the tool a list of acceptable verbatim answers that'll essentially automatically code verbatims into a hidden multi-choice question)?

Adding groups in a constant sum question

Hi, I have a large constant sum question. So I'd like to improve the structure of the question to make the question easier to answer. I thought about the possibility to create groups as it is possible in other question categories. I haven't found a way to do that yet. Adding jsPsych to Qualtrics

Hi, I am trying to add the kirby delay discounting task into Qualtrics. I have downloaded the JavaScript code from OSF: https://osf.io/wkf2z/ However, since Qualtrics has updated the platform, old tutorials that explain this process do not work anymore. I have also tried several things with the new JavaScript feature in Survey, but when I preview the experiment I only get a blank space. Does anyone have experience with adding a JavaScript experiment in Qualtrics, who can help me? Is it still possible? I have completed some courses in JavaScript, but I am still a beginner. Can I embed a Python Bokeh Interactive App on my Qualtrics Survey?

Hello, I want to run a survey and would like to request from participants to use a Python Bokeh Application that I have created before answering my questions. Is it possible to embed this app on the survey or add a link that directs participants to the application? In case it helps, embedding a Bokeh app requires either: * ability to include and run arbitrary script tags (i.e. the one that server_document outputs) * ability to embed an IFrame (that you can just point to wherever the app is hosted) Thank you, Christos

Embedded data - persisting to end of survey

I have developed a survey in qualtrics where the questions include some interactive experiences. I developed the interactive experiences within qualtrics using css, html and javascript. Now I want to collect backend data about the usage of various interactive elements as the users are going through the survey. I can successfully collect the backend information within a given question. However, I cannot get the values that I have collected to persist to the end of the survey. I have tried using embedded data and overwriting the timing variables but I cannot get the values that I set (using the qualtrics setter function) to persist to the end of the survey. I am happy to post my code but this seems like a pretty straightforward use of the embedded data. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any help!

! ! How do I change the color of the multi select option shown once a user selects and then deselects it? i.e., when a user selects an answer the color of the option changes (to lets say red) working as expected. Now, if the user unselects the anwers the color changes again(lets say blue), how do I change this blue color to something else on Minimal 3D- Green template. Attached are the examples on first click and second click. Look to change the color(from blue) after 2nd click.

How to cite the recoded variable names in subsequent questions?

Hello, I am designing a survey in which I need to present scenarios to participants based on their gender. For example, when participants choose female in the demographics section, the character in the scenario will be named Amy. I tried the embedded data function and recoded the variable name in the way "female-Amy" and "male-Bob." However, it only allowed me to cite the variable value (instead of name) from the gender question. How can I make it? Also, I want to avoid the skip logic function, since it would lead to too much redundant information. Thank you so much 😀

Regarding Matrix question type (Qualtrics Survey)

Is it possible to just select one answer in a matrix question type? For example: Consider a 3X3 matrix question. If I select choice 3 in row 3 and when I want to change my selection to choice 1 in row 1 (or vice-versa), the first option that I had chosen should get unchecked (i.e., choice 3 in row 3). Is there a way to achieve this using Javascript or any other method? If so, how? Please refer the attached files: Capture1.png(choice 3 in row 3) and Capture.png(choice 1 in row 1) ! ! Thank you.

Send thank you email using an anonymous link

Part 1 - Is there a way to send a thank you email after someone has provided their email in a survey with an anonymous link? We have a survey right now that will determine which "program" is right for you based on how you respond to 4 questions. Then we have a form question that asks for contact info including email. People will be taking this event at a survey and may not remember what program was the right fit for them. Is there a way to send them a thank you that includes which program is right for them? Part 2 - The program information is saved in separate blocks and branch logic is used to get the associated program based on responses from the 4 questions. The blocks with the program information only have text - example: "The [insert program name] program is right for you. Here is a link to get more information." Are you able to insert the program in the email if it is only a text block that shows on the screen? Part 3 - I am assuming we cannot do part 2. If that i

Is there a way to autocalculate a survey expiration date?

The survey I am conducting needs to be completed within 7 days of another task. I upload the TaskDate as an embedded item in the contact list. Is there a way to auto-calculate an expiration date for the individual emails that are sent out? Alternatively, I can auto-calculate the expiration date in the excel contact sheet, is there a way to import an expiration date into a survey link? Thanks!

Responses can not be displayed on Data and Analysis page when the number of questions is large

I have used Qualtrics for a while and met a problem that never happened before. In this survey, I have totally 576 questions. I duplicated a block over 20 times with the same questions. Most of the blocks will not be displayed to the subjects due to a randomizer. However, on Data and Analysis page, I can not choose the columns to add the responses to my questions. Even I exported the survey data to .tsv, it only recorded Survey Metadata and Contact Fields. I still could not find the responses to my questions. The screen shot is like this. ! Then I tried to delete some blocks and when there were 421 questions in the survey flow, I was able to choose the columns to add the corresponding responses again. The screen shot is like this. ! I even tried to delete different blocks and found out that which block was deleted did not matter, but the number of blocks (maybe the number of questions) left in the survey flow did matter. Could you tell me how to get the responses to my questions when I

Group / Rank - want to output question data to ONE .xls Card. (rather than one for each attribute..

Hi Using the grouping function for ranking questions (Drag and drop 3 attributes from a list of 10 into a box). It's creating a .xlsx card for each of the 10 attribute choices , which creates a tremendous headache of having to cut and pasting all 10 worksheets into one in order to create charts. Is there a better way to do this? Seems crazy that the data for a single question wouldn't be organized into a single excel worksheet. The data is grouped comma delimeted when downloading the whole .csv file... Thanks!

Force response with custom timer

Hi All, I have a custom timer that will force respondents to advance to next block when time is up. However, when adding Qualtrics' force response feature along with the timer, the page waits and forces respondents to submit answers on the last question within the block even if time is up. I want the timer feature, and also want respondents to have submitted an answer to a question before moving on to the next within the timed block. Any suggestions on how to auto-advance respondent to the next block on the last question page even if no answer is submitted? Currently my timer is set up globally with the attached code in the Header under "Look & Feel" (and also custom CSS). I have an embedded data field "StartTime" set up at the beginning of the survey flow, and right before the timed block, I have "Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setEmbeddedData('StartTime', new Date().getTime()); " to start the timer. To force auto-advance, I'm currently using display logic: display only if “StartTime” is
