Placement of choice label for the slider question

Hello, I wanted to produce the following in my survey: ! and @Shashi has been really kind in providing me with the CSS code for this, which was: ul.numbers li::after { content:",000"; } ul.numbers li:nth-child(4):after { content:""; } The code worked (with mobile-friendly option box ticked): ! However, the choice label was placed below all the response options. Wonder whether anyone be able to please explain: (1) how to place the choice label (i.e., "adjustment") in line with the response options and (2) why the code will only work for the mobile-friendly option (i.e., why the ",000" disappeared when it was unticked)? Thank you very much in advance!

How to use "randomizer" of Survey Flow as piped text?

Dear all I have 4 blocks in my survey that I randomized (all 4 pages being represented to each participant). Now I would like to inform the participant, on which site of the four he/she is. I thought of using the Randomizer of the Survey Flow (only used "randomize" and show all four blocks) as this literally is the reference I need. But it is not possible to implement it in the Block as embedded data. - How do I implement this Randomization number as piped Text? - Is this otherwise possible with pages? (If yes, how?)

How do I create MC question with "your answer is correct" or "your answer is incorrect" messages?

How do I conditionally display a message based on a user’s multiple-choice answer? (i.e. take them to a “your answer is correct” message, or “try again” message.) Do I do that through question validation? Or set up branch logic and blocks in every question? I’m not sure what’s the best way to do this in Qualtrics?

Hide Radio Buttons in Multiple Choice and Make Inserted Answer Image Selectable For Branded Template

Good Afternoon, I would appreciate any guidance or recommendations on how to accomplish the following on a per question base (not looking for this to be a global effect to the entire survey): - Single select, multiple choice question - Each answer has an embedded image - Remove the radio buttons from each of the answer selections - Make the inserted image the actionable object (i.e.: What the user selects to advance forward) - Using a Branded template I have looked on multiple forums and spent a considerable amount of time just trying to figure out how to hide the radio buttons. I know the solution requires JS support to work, but, I am a complete NOOB when it comes to JS (and any coding that's not Excel VBA). Thanks in advance for any support you may be able to provide.

assigning embedded variable values based on ranking question results

Hi al1 I have 5 vendors I'm ranking across 10 criteria, and want to score each vendor's rank for each criteria in an embedded variable. I need to do this because I need to do the scoring math in-survey. Is there a way to do this without creating a zillion IF branches? So vendor_a_criteria_1, vendor_a_criteria_2... vendor_a_criteria_10, vendor_b_criteria_1, vendor_b_criteria_2... Alternate thought - can this be done real time using the API? This would be a bit of a hassle for us as we'd need to develop a program to do the math...

Adjusting slider values

Hello, I am hoping to create the following slider, but realized that Qualtrics do not actually allow for the integration of ,000 to the values of the slider. ! There was a similar thread about this, and I was able to get the ,000 on all the values with the css code provided: <style> ul.numbers li::after { content:",000"; } </style> however, I am wondering whether there is a workaround (to the css code above, or a new code altogether) that will allow me to display the mid-point as 0; instead of 0,000? Thank you!

How to Collect Response Data from an Embedded Survey on my Web App?

Just a newbie programming student here tasked with creating an app that gives access to a survey that sends its data to Google BigQuery. Currently, I just have the survey embedded on my web app via an iframe. I'm not sure if this is the practice but regardless which APIs would I have to use and how to use it in order to collect the single response's data? I would imagine I would have to pass in some parameter into the embedded survey url or edit the javascript in the survey to include a function that sends data back with offLoad()?

Basic API question

Hi All. I have a use case where I'd like to use an API to calculate something while a respondent takes a survey, so I can provide them a score before the end of the survey. I know how to use math functions within the survey, but this would be a case where it would be better to do the calculations out of survey (during the survey). Before I start digging through all the API materials, I thought it would be best to ask this question. Thanks!API

Integration with custom application

We are thinking of storing all the survey responses from qualtrics in custom application. We have data coming from various sources in this custom application and use this for preparing reports for management. The challenge that we are facing is to find a way for integrating survey results through API. Please let me know if there is any way to push the survey results to external application in real-time.

How to write code to split one matrix (89 items) to four pages and randomize them..

Dear community I am currently trying to write Java Code for a matrix question with 89 items, that I would like to have fully randomized, but splitted over four pages (as the site gets too long and users have to scroll too much). Anyone could help me out formatting this?

Hello! I currently have the custom code for background, but need additional help...

I would like the first page of my quiz to only have a 'start quiz' button at the bottom with no questions or additional text so that my background image can be seen. Additionally, for the rest of the pages, how can I change my background transparency so that the background image is still there but faint? TIA for any suggestions!

Randomizing order across participants, but keeping randomized order consistent within participants

Hi all, I am using Qualtrics to administer experimental stimuli to participants in a 2 x 2 within-subjects design. I have 8 different experimental stimuli, each of which have 4 variations (which correspond to the 2x2 design). I currently have javascript code set up which shuffles an array of experimental stimuli in a 4 (row) X 2 (column) matrix so that participants will randomly see 2 experimental stimuli from each condition in randomized order (totaling 8 stimuli [of varying conditions]). What I am having trouble with, however, is that I want to also randomize the order of the questions that follow the experimental stimuli (the same questions that will follow each stimulus). Is there a way to randomize the order of the post-stimulus questions such that it is always different between participants, but is consistent within participants (meaning that person A has the same order of post-experimental stimuli questions for all 8 stimuli, but person B has a different order, but that order

Populating response data from an Excel file

I would like the users of a survey to populate survey response data from an Excel file. Is this possible? If not, can a field within a survey be populated using javascript or jQuery? I know a file can be uploaded to a survey, but I want the data within the uploaded file to automatically populate the response data. Please provide an example on how this can be done. Thanks!

How to prioritize question statements off of embedded data?

I need a way for question statements to flex based on the order I enter them into the embedded data. We have a question that asks to rate presenters. For our events, 10 out of the 30 presenters actually presented that day. Then the next day it might be a different 10 people. to add complexity there could be 2 or more events going on at the same time. I have created embedded data to pull in the name of the presenter that someone will enter before sending out the link. Example. Presenter = BillyJohnSallyJim. Using "contains" logic the questions correlated to these people populate. However they populate in the order in which they were programmed/built. I need the questions to populate based on the order I entered them in the embedded data to align with the order they presented in to make the best customer experience. I can't break the presenters out into individual question since I need a graph of the presenters overall sore in reporting and mapping 30+ presenters across 10 topics wou

Rank order

I am trying to do a rank order where participants put in their order of things and when they do up the questions, each set of questions for each item will come out in the order that they have placed the items in. Is this possible? Display logic takes too many programming and is not feasible for our study which has 20 items and the permutations are too many to do display logic by. Or if there are any directions to other threads are fine. Tried looking but they are not what I am searching for.

Carry over answers participants filled

Hi! I have a few very similar questions that participants have to answer, and I am wondering if I could carry over their selected options in the matrix table and side by side table to the other similar question. I am not talking about the carry forward of statements or scale points, but the answers that they have selected in the radio buttons. Hope there is a way for this!

Clarification of Quotas

It would be nice if there were a clear explanation of how quotas work. I applied a quota, assuming that the survey would go inactive once the quota was reached. It did not--it continued to be open (so, I found myself wondering what a quota accomplishes). Then, I found a post that suggests that I need to build logic into the survey that somehow redirects to a customized end-of-survey question in order to make a quota work. This seems quite complicated. If there is a simple explanation of how quotas work, can you point me to that? I was unable to find a simple feature explanation by searching on the Qualtrics site.

User Experience Menu for navigating blocks?

I'm building a public comment survey. The public can add essay-style text to a variety of questions in subheadings. I plan to make each subheading a block. Is there a great way to make a sticky menu that will allow users to jump around from block to block? Or maybe I could make an index style page that links to the blocks. I'm trolling for UX ideas here. Thank you for reading this newbie's discussion.

Piped text in report charts?

I have piped text into the title text above a chart to show the number of responses to the question. However, I have a series of stacked bars in one chart that each may have a different number of responses. Is there a way to pipe the number of responses into each of the axis labels? (For example, Roses n=X and Irises n=X.)

Salesforce and task objects

I am trying to trigger a survey from a task object. When I test the workflow starting at the customer account, create the task object and then complete the workflow, the survey is triggered. The normal process, however, does not involve starting from the customer account. In the normal process, the task object is created automatically. When the workflow is completed under these circumstances, nothing happens. I don't even get a debug email saying the survey was not sent. I was told in Salesforce, the debug information looks just like the first process that did send the survey. One other piece of information that may be useful. Task objects do not contain the customer's email address, so a formula was used to place the email address in the task. Any ideas what could be causing this or what we should check?

More details needed to generate random number with no repeats. Any solution yet?

Hi all - Thanks for reading! I know this question has been asked several times already (e.g., https://www.qualtrics.com/community/discussion/85/i-want-to-randomly-assign-a-4-digit-id-to-every-respondent-with-no-repeats), but thought I'd check in again about this to see if someone could provide a more specific answer, since this _has_ to be a need that many people have. I want to assign a random 6-digit number as a respondent enters a survey, but it's _essential_ that there be no repeats. I know Qualtrics' random number generator can do this, but can't guarantee it won't repeat. So, several others have suggested setting up a web service or library to do this. But can anyone provide more details about exactly how to do this? There has to be a solution out there, and I think it'd be really helpful to a lot of people to post it here.
