Heat Map vs Hot Spot - What to use?

I'm testing some different creative designs for conference marketing material and wondering what differences are and the pros and cons of the heat map vs. the hot spot question types. Thanks!

Using JavaScript with Embedded Data and/or selected choices.

Can someone walk me through pulling Embedded Data and/or selected choices into a JavaScript function? As an example, let's say that I want the sum of numbers from a loop and merge block where it is possible that the user loops through 40 times. Instead of creating 40 different branches in the survey flow each with an equation, hopefully I could just set up a nice little JS function to handle the math. And the answer is yes, I have done this just because I was too "lazy" to spend the time to figure out and use JS for this survey.

Popup repeated display

I have a popup on a site that currently only displays once to a given user. I need to make it so that the popup displays three times per user, unless they take the target survey. If they take the target survey. they should not see the popup again.

Asking a one-question survey as an inline email question, how to automatically register as complete?

I have a single survey question that I want to get a quick response from and so I thought I'd include it as an inline email question, so that recipients can respond to the survey with a single click. However, doing so still requires the user to click the forward arrow to finalise their response to the question and thus complete the survey - not a huge issue but it does remove the simplicity of having a one-click response. Is there a way to get the survey to continue to the next page (the survey completion screen) as soon as the answer is selected, rather than the user having to press next? Thanks in advance!

Randomly select one choice from a set of choices

Hello! I have the following problem: From a set of multiples choices, I need to randomly assign just one of those choices to each respondent, and then use this choice all over the survey. For example: John could use "Brand A", "Brand B", "Brand C" and "Brand D". This list is presented in Q1. He actually uses "Brand A" and "Brand C", and he selects these two choices. From this set of choices, I need to randomly assign one to be used for responding the following questions in the survey. I have tried using Piped Text, Carry Forward Choices and Display Logic. But, I imagine there is a more direct way to randomly use one item from a set of possible elements, being this set of possible elements constructed from the actual choices of the respondent. Thanks in advance for your help

No questions are being displayed to respondents. Urgent.

After editing an active survey, none of my questions are displayed to respondents anymore. Does anyone know why this happens or how I can fix it? The survey is still active.

How can I transfer changes to a live survey?

Hello! I recently received a number of translations for a survey that I have that is currently live. I want to create a copy of the survey so that I have a test environment to load the translations and validate them. Once they are loaded and check out ok in the copy of the survey, is there a way to transfer the translations to the live survey? Will they need to be re-uploaded? Thank you!

Can javascript be used to get data from a remote server and populate a dropdown list?

New user alert: I'm able to authenticate users via both SSO and by associating the user with a panel. The panel entries contain embedded data fields that tell me various things, like the user's unit_ID (which department or office they're associated with). Each unit has anywhere from 1 to 15 account numbers (nearly 400 numbers total). I'd like to present users with a dropdown list of only the account numbers associated with their unit. Because there are nearly 190 units, and because new account numbers are added periodically, I'd like to avoid using display logic if at all possible. I know (or at least, I think) that javascript can be made to get data from a remote server if the data is formatted properly (I can put my data in JSON), and could filter the responses (match on unit_ID) and populate my dropdown list. But that's all I know. I have to be able to connect to a remote server, identify a file, filter by unit_ID, return the account numbers, and populate a dropdown list. I

Hi. I am using Qualtrics for my research study in which I want to track participant responses over a period of 10 weeks. How can I save the responses of each participant, while using the same link each week so that new responses can be entered and analysed? I believe with the retake link option, the participants will be able to view their old responses? I don't want them to review their old responses as it could influence their responses to the same question at a different time, or they might be lazy and just repopulate the same responses. I am using the same survey question items as a measure to test the effect of a intervention on their behaviours. Thank you!

Text box questions disable/enable

Hello, I have a question type like below. Multiple choice type question with "Yes" or "No" options. After that have two text entry question. Like 1) if Yes, Why? 2)if No, Why? I want to text box questions, will disable by default with the help of jQuery/Java script. If option "Yes" sleeted at multiple choice question that particular text box question will get enable. Respectively for option "No". Could you please help me on this requirement?

Displaying ResponseID to survey respondents

Hi all, Is there a way that I can display the responseID to the respondents taking my survey? I want to use that as a unique tag for respondents to copy down. The responseID would then be used to identify the respondent for a lucky draw which will be entered in a separate platform. We've kept this two platforms separate so that no personal data is collected on the Qualtrics platform.

Javascript for changing Pick, group and Rank items

I've seen many examples where the text entry box can be modified using javascript -- 'QR~' + this.questionId; for example. But I have had no luck tracking down an example where the available items for a "Pick, group and rank" can be changed using javascript code. I have a question design where I need to change them during the course of answering the question. Any simple example code that can do this would be greatly appreciated!

Request a participants email, but not track them by it

Hi, I'm planning on sending participants a survey through anonymous link. However, I would like to request their email so that I know who participated, but I don't necessarily want to tie that email back to their responses in the survey. How can I add a question asking them for this detail, but not tie that response to the rest of the ansnwers by it - is that even possible?

Custom and embedded data field

Is there a way to import that custom fields and embedded data fields into StatIQ? I have so many that would need to be recreated and some embedded fields which are impossible to recreate.

One of the surveys systematically not recording some responses

! The "Master Survey" randomly (and evenly) redirects to either "Trial or Error 1" (which is the control) or "Trial or Error 2" (which is treatment). Yesterday I took the survey 18 times and it sent to treatment 9 times and control 9 times but only 4 of the 9 treatment responses showed up in the "Trial or Error 2" tab you see in the screenshot. Similarly this morning I took it 7 times and it sent to treatment 2 times so far but only one of the two treatment responses is showing up (even though the Master Survey recorded all 7 redirects including the two redirects to treatment). All of the surveys were completed so it's not because of incomplete or still in progress data collection.

Experiment with versions: how can I see which version?

Hi everyone! I am doing an experiment and I have in total six versions. Each respondent gets a version assigned via the randomizer. The difference in each of the versions is a text. All questions are identical. What should I do to find out which version they had? Thanks for your answer!

Sending reminders to non-starters.

My respondents are lawyers who are frequently interrupted when taking a survey. Since my respondents can begin, suspend, and then re-enter the survey, I don't want to send reminders to them, which will only confuse and irritate them. How can I send reminder messages only to those in the email distribution list who have not yet started the survey? Thanks in advance.

Hi! Is there any way to get dynamic tabs in Qualtrics like here: https://www.w3schools.com/bootstrap/tryit.asp?filename=trybs_tabs_dynamic&stacked=h ? How can I embed a youtube video & only show the follow up questions after the video has played

So, I want to embed a youtube video (using the youtube embed copy) and then not display the questions that follow the video until after it has been watched the whole way through. Happy to have a go at html etc but my knowledge of this is pretty basic. Is there any way to use display logic? Or any of the tools within Qualtrics? THANKS!!
