Survey Platform

Hello!  I am trying to pass an embedded data value as a parameter in a webservice. However, instead of embedding the value of the data (as a random number), the webservice call gets the textual value of the embedded data. For example, if I set a embedded data called “random_id”, when I set the embedded data in a query parameter as `${e://Field/random_id}`, I get the full “${e://Field/random_id}” as the value for the parameter on the webservice/API call. See the picture below:

Agree or disagree?  I think those two features are very related in practice.  The UI has them pretty widely separated.

Hi All,I want to add the below type of question in my survey design for survey platform. Can you please tell me how can i achieve this using which feature or which JavaScript coding.  Help would be much appreciated.

I try to extract survey response, and the count of response showing in correct in the csv file. I have 300 over completed record but in the file only show 22 records. Besides, any idea how to export it in excel in stead. And only keep 1 header, the 3 header row is very confusing.

I am looking to force my multiple choice scale question to display answer choices horizontally on mobile devices. This is using the newer Modern/Simple layout. See below how the question is displayed on desktop.  See below how the question displays on mobile (answer choices listed vertically). While I can choose to place the answer choices in 5 columns instead, it causes it to scroll sideways and places text to the left of the radio button. Does anyone have any workarounds/custom CSS to display 5 pt scale questions horizontally on mobile devices using the Simple Layout? I understand this may require adjusting the font to fit in the smaller screen width.

Hi everyone,Hope you're doing well.I have a survey set up as a form, which users are expected to fill out multiple times—sometimes in quick succession. Each submission is supposed to trigger a follow-up email.Everything worked fine during my initial test, but when I tested it again with multiple submissions in quick succession, I stopped receiving the follow-up emails. There's nothing showing in the workflow run history, but the follow-up email still isn't being delivered.I'm wondering if this might be related to a fraud prevention mechanism—perhaps Qualtrics detects the same email address being used repeatedly in a short period and blocks the follow-up emails as a result? Thanks :)

I have a study with a baseline and follow-up survey. They are de-identified but have an embedded piece of data so I can match them up later. The two surveys are different, especially as the follow-up surveys are specific to the assigned study group. Looking briefly at another listing, it says something about a string query from the first to the second, but I am not sure I did that. I embedded the same StudyID in each survey for the participant. How do I match up the baseline survey to follow-up survey using the embedded data?

Is there an easy workaround to set up reminder emails for tickets that have not been closed? Ideally I would like a reminder email to be sent out to  the ticket owner 3 days after it has been created if it has not been opened and/or if it is not completed.

Hi All,I looked for an answer to this, but nothing was satisfactorily supplied, just more pointing to generic API functionality for file downloading, etc - i.e. people misreading the question....Could Qualtrics look at supplying what really should be a simple API request to download a particular response as PDF, as the survey manager can do from the UI?Thanks for any in-Qualtrics solutions rather than ‘dump the response and build a PDF yourself’ - I think the PDF summary as downloaded via UI is ideal for what we want, so streaming it to PDF via the API would be excellentThanks JB

I have a survey where we want to use a constant sum question where the values entered across all statements adds up to 100. The issue is that we have 400 statements that we want to include in the constant sum question. The limit for statements is 100 statements for this question type. Is there any work around to split up the question into 4 separate questions, and then still have the total across all 4 questions add up to 100?

Hello,  We recently added a new Embedded Data field to our survey, and I am looking for a way to backfill the values for our historical surveys. The new embedded field is employee names and will vary from survey to survey.  Does anyone know if there a way I can mass edit/backfill embedded data into historical surveys? If so, can you point me in the right direction on how to get it done? I am newer to Qualtrics.  Thanks!

Hello!I’m trying to do somewhat complicated counterbalancing of my questions. I have 4 question and answer combinations to display followed by 2 questions for them. The types of combinations are such that we have some changes to the answer as we are looking at effects of these changes on trust in the answers:no change to the answer adding an indication of certainty (‘probably’) adding a first person indication of uncertainty (“I’m not sure, but”) adding a third person indication of uncertainty (“It’s not clear, but”)Each of these sets of 4 question and answer combinations are themselves within 4 different categories (food, sports, medicine, and acronyms), with 2 items in each of the categories (for example, food has Iron Soy Jelly and Hasperat). (yes, these are all made up items) We want to have each participant have two each of the question and answer combinations (no change, certainty, first person, third person) for all 8 questions (2 for food, 2 for sports, 2 for medicine, and 2 fo

Hello team, need your support with proper setting for a survey:I need for each participant to assign randomly 20 adjectives from the list of totals 93 (type of question - Matrix Table). To be precise - here people should assess the role of middle manager in general. For each participant there should be a new set of randomly chosen adjectives. I use stnd randomization function here.     Then the same 20 randomly chosen adjectives for a participant should be used in the next question with the same logic (Likert, 5 options to answer). This time people should assess these descriptions for a men in general. Same as for #2, but for women in general.Would appreciate your advises how to set up such survey.Thank you in advance!

I'm using the Compose Email tool to distribute a survey to a list. I am getting an error which is preventing the email from getting sent, but the error just says:"There were validation errors. Correct the errors and try again.”This message is not very helpful…I double-check the content of the message (including in HTML mode); I also double-checked the list but cannot see anything wrong. What should I do?

I have screenshots of product items with prices, displayed as an image form. I want to add the prices of all the products selected by the participants. Suppose they choose 5 out of 10 items (as shown in the images); the next page should display the summation of all the selected items. Is it possible to execute this?

Hi,I've recently noticed an issue with my survey data. When I check the data and analysis sections, some of the data appears blank, while other parts are still intact.Could you please advise what might be causing this? This survey is for my dissertation, and I'm quite worried about the situation.Thank you in advance for your support.Best regards,

Dear Community, We currently have the following situation: we would like our sales colleagues to survey physicians. We are conducting these interviews offline via the Qualtrics app. In some cases, certain physicians will be surveyed multiple times. To save time, we would like to display the answers to the demo questions from the first interview for subsequent interviews. The physicians are selected at random, but we document their identities using a participant ID/physician code. We have defined and saved this question field and the relevant demo questions as embedded data in the survey flow. How should we proceed now, and what steps do we need to take? Thank you in advance!

Hello!I have a question, Q3, where if the user selects recode value 1, hide Q11 and auto-code Q11 = 7. The problem is, Q11 is a Forced Response and I'm having trouble disabling that. Does anyone know how to disable that with javascript?  Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){    /*Place your JavaScript here to run when the page loads*/    var qid11 = jQuery("#question-QID11");        function checkAndToggle() {        var selectedChoice = jQuery("input[name='QID3']:checked");        if (selectedChoice.length > 0) {            var choiceId = selectedChoice.attr('id');            var recodeValue = choiceId.split('-').pop();                        if (recodeValue === '1') {                qid11.hide(); // Hide when recode value is '1'            } else {                qid11.show(); // Show for all other values            }        } else {            qid11.show(); // Show if nothing selected        }    }        checkAndToggle();        jQuery("input[name='QID3']").change(functio

I am working with a large email list and am hoping to send reminder emails to individuals who started the survey but did not finish. I have tried three ways of doing this, but none of them does what I’m hoping to accomplish. (1) I have tried the reminder option in the email distributions portion of Qualtrics; however, this sends the email to individuals who did not start the survey as well as those who started but did not finish. (2) I have tried sampling from my directory; however, it appears I am unable to use survey status to create a sample. The list is also too large to manually generate the sample.  (3) I have tried downloading the directory, taking only the individuals who started the survey, and re-uploading; however, from my understanding, this creates a new link for each individual, so rather than allowing them to pick up the survey where they left off, they would have to start over.Is there some way to accomplish this that allows people who started the survey to pick up wher

MY MASTERS DEGREE IS ON THE LINE… I want to generate a tailored message to the participant, generate the message in a third-party software (Zapier), store, GET the message and insert the message mid-survey.What does this look like? A POST Web Service block delivers 4 tokens to Zapier and the survey ReponseID.  Zapier receives and runs an automation to generate a tailored message using those 4 tokens, then stores it according to the ResponseID.  A GET Web Service block runs before the message is needed, and when the participant is at the appropriate descriptive text box, the message “should” appear using embedded data fields and piped texts. Each participant receives a different message based upon their answers, therefore I am organizing them by their ResponseID in the Zapier Storage. As such, the URL I use in my GET Web Service block uses a dynamic element such as key=${e://Field/ResponseID}. Qualtrics AI says this should be functional, but it has yet to deliver a dynamic message and f

My survey contains a Likert matrix question with drag and drop answer type. The question is functioning perfect for survey respondents. However, I am not able to view their individual responses to this question in the “Data & Analysis” tab when I select “View Response” or “Export to PDF” for a single respondent. All that appears is a list of all possible answers and empty boxes, as if they did not sort any of the answers. If it is relevant, the question also utilizes display logic and piping for some answer choices. Interestingly, in “View Response,” the piped answers appear, but the display logic is not factored in (i.e. all possible answer choices are listed out in “View Response” rather than the ones that particular respondent would have seen when completing the survey). It is very important that I am able to view individual responses to this particular question. Does anyone know why that is happening or a possible solution?

I have set up a drill down question as below to have the respondents select the provinces and cities they currently live in. Then I need to set embedded data for each city to record the city tier. The problem is that I have hundreds of cities on the list, and manually typing them in could lead to errors and is also quite troublesome. Is there anyway to simplfy this process? Thanks!
