Flexible Date Validation

I need to require a valid DOB be entered in a field, but I would like it to accept only 1 digit day and month and not force two digits.For example: allow the respondent to enter 4/1/2000 instead of forcing them to type 04/01/2020 to fit the (mm-dd-yyyy) validation mold, which is really annoying.

How to know which randomized block was shown to each individual respondent?

I have a survey for which I have just collected data. In that survey, I had 3 randomized parts in which I linked to other smaller surveys in the library (I used Randomizer and each element in that Randomizer was a separate survey in the Library). In each of those separate surveys, there’s a question with two randomized parts. When downloading the data for the whole big survey, I could see that there are columns for the randomized parts in the smaller surveys, but there are no values in those columns at all! I have tried “Export viewing order data for randomized surveys” but it only showed the randomized parts in the big survey, not the randomized parts in the small surveys that were linked to the big survey. I would really appreciate your help because this data is very important to me!

Hi! I'm new to Qualtrics and I've been combing through the site and haven't find an answer to this question, so I thought I'd post it here. I have a survey in which I ask a multiple choice question, one response from which leads to a follow-up drill down question. I would like to recode the responses to these questions so that I can use one field as piped text in several subsequent questions. Here's a silly example of what I'm trying to do:Q1 - What are your plans for breakfast tomorrow?A - I plan to eat breakfast at the dining hallB - I plan to eat breakfast off-campusC - I will have breakfast, but haven't decided whereD - I don't eat breakfastFor those who select B, they then go to a drill down question that ends with them selecting an area restaurant (say, Denny's). In subsequent questions, I'd like to ask things like "thinking about the eggs at (recoded piped text), are they overcooked?" where 'recoded piped text' would say Yummy Dining Hall if the person had selected A in Q1, and

Randomization and timing - Importing a questionnaire

I have two questions Is there a way to randomize questions while importing a questionnaire in txt format? Is there a way to create a timing question and modify the options while importing a questionnaire in txt format? Randomization

Hi, I'm a student in Ben Gurion University my study is a within subject experiment with two levels of independent variable (red condition and blue condition) in the study. in the practice phase, we have a block which contains one picture of fixation point, 4 pictures of geometric shapes- 2 triangles, one in red and one in blue, 2 circles- one in red and one in blue, and at the end a question with 2 optional question. the pictures should be presented by the order I mentioned, but I want randomization of the 4 geometric shapes in a way that each subject will see one shape of the 4, and the practice phase will end after he saw all 4 shapes. in short, I would like a randomization of 4 shapes and 4 return so that the subject will see them all. Loop and Merge

At the end of my loop and merge, I have a statement saying "Next, we'd like you to answer those questions about (fill in name of second group selected)". I want to second group to show up in this piped text portion, but since it is at the end of my first loop the first group selected is showing up. Is there a way to get the second group selected in the pipe text instead of the first? Thank you.

Would it be possible to add a margin to an email sent with Qualtrics distribution?

Hello,This is how usually a survey looks like in Qualtrics, see first image below. (It's centered in the middle of the screen, and the questions are aligned to the left. If I am not wrong, it's possible thanks to the questions container). However, when I am sending an invitation email using the Qualtrics email distribution, the emails look like the second image (there is no margin or any text container that helps center the text in the center of the screen). I tried to do it manually using the indent and alignment options, but it doesn't look good in different email services.Any idea on how to solve this? I would appreciate it.ThanksSurvey: Email:

Getting around "Duplicate Email" setting

HelloI have read other threads about this however this has not resolved my issue.I want to be able to "compose email" and manually add a one more more email addresses. I need to be able to compose another email within the same day that may have one or more of the same email addresses on the first email. The saved "contact lists" really does not work for me as each survey will vary in who it is being sent to and in varying combinations. It would be impossible to have a contact lists that works for me. In the thread I read it said to add a "time stamp" in the text editor however I do not see any "text editor' field anywhere in Qualtrics or the compose email screen. Maybe its called something different?I read you can modify the email subject line of the email to make it unique and this will avoid Qualtrics flagging this as a duplicate/spam. This however has not worked for me. I have also tried doing this along with making the body of the email unique by using a few key words, no success.

Can I do something with my survey to reduce participants receiving Internal System Errors?

I get contacted about 10 times a month by people who get the Qualtrics Internal System Error when trying to perform some of our surveys. 100% of the time the fix is having the person clear their browser history data. I guess what I am wondering is if there is anything I could do on my end to make this happen less often or maybe even an explanation to help me understand what specifically causes this issue relative to browser data? Also, does device type matter relative specifically to this issue?

text IQ: Assign topics automatically

Hi everyone,i am quite new to the text iq topic, but since we have a lot of open comments in our surveys, we would like to use it in the future. However, we would like to use our own category/topic system. Now, by trying it out I had a few questions come up: Does text IQ in any way enable us to assign topics automatically to open comments? (e.g. would that be possible if we didn’t use custom topics but the pre-defined librarys?) As for an example: if I finished my survey and then use text IQ for the analysis, is there any way that it would analyze the open comments automatically? Can I somehow train the system so that it knows which words in an open comment indicate which topics? For responses that come in late, I understood that I have to update the dataset manually. However, after I updated the dataset, I can see the new response, but then I have to assign the topic for this answer manually, too. Is that correct? Because as I understand, text IQ uses text analysis, so it must be some

Hello!I am seeking a way to program Qualtrics to allow a parent to retake the survey based on the number of children living in their household. I included a multiple choice question asking about the number of children they are caring for. Ideally, the parent would be able to retake the entire survey for each child.Thanks!

Program keeps directing participants to material outside survey flow?

I've been running a 3-condition study for months now, using the randomizer function to allocate participants to conditions, but for whatever reason, I ended up with fewer participants in one condition than in the other two, so recently, I've removed the other two from the survey flow to even things out--currently, the program should be directing participants only to one condition. The randomizer has been removed. However, for some unknown reason, over half of my participants are still being shown a removed condition. I have no idea what's going on. Has anyone got any ideas?

Multiple Selected Answers that I need to separately pipe text

Hi! I have a question at the beginning of my survey that asks participants to pick 2 communities they represent out of a list of 11. I have a closing statement in which I want only the second group selected pipe texted. When I try to pipe text, I can only find "selected answers" which pipes in both answers selected not just the second one. Is there a way to pipe in only the second answer selected? Thanks!

Is there a way to condense the view in the new survey builder? I'm used to seeing more questions on one page and right now I'm feeling limited in what I can see and do. Is there the ability to zoom out so I can see more on the page? Thank you.

Does Qualtrics have rules on how long an account/data is stored?

Thought I would pose my question here hoping someone might know. I've been trying unsuccessfully to get an answer to this from QualtricsSupport for a while now. Does Qualtrics have any rules about how long an account and/or its data is stored? For example can someone not use and/or log into their account for 10 years say and expect the account/data to still exist? Thank you!

Can Qualtrics auto populate answers from an excel sheet?

I have an excel list of specific job codes with other data attached. For instance position 1234; Department ID: 07; Program Name: Accounting. I want to create a survey, if you enter the position code (1234) it would auto populate the rest of the position information into the survey. Seems like this excel must be hosted on Qualtrics so it can be referenced when someone inputs a position number. I believe this excel can be uploaded into qualtrics, but is it possible to auto populate information from the row (based on the position code) into the survey? if so, how? Thank you!

Radial button not showing in android mobile, but showing in ios

Hello,I have developed a conjoint analysis. The radial button is not showing in android phones. I tried pixel 4a [image attached: pixel-vertical.png] and Samsung. It shows well when I use the phone horizontally/landscape [image attached: pixel-horizontal.png]. Question branching to multiple qualtrics projects

Is it possible to design a survey with 1 question where the choices of the question re-directs participants to a different Qualtrics survey to complete? and the re-directed survey will record their responses on the individual project on Qualtrics and not the initial screening survey?

Searching through a Directory before entering a survey

Hey Everyone, I am wondering if this is possible... But I want to be able to ask an email in the first question of my survey and then search that email address in a Directory and depending on the result either terminate or allow to continue with the original survey. Also if the email is not in the directory I would like it added. Is any / all of this possible? Thanks Mark

Pipe only 2 random Selections into Scale Points

I have a multi-select question asking respondents what companies they work with. Below that, I want to ask a follow up on 3 of their selections - 2 randomly chosen from their selections and our company any time it is chosen. I started creating embedded data fields to store the data from the first question into fields called Company1, Company2, etc. Then, I could set up randomization on the embedded fields to only choose 2. I just don't know how to ensure that it only chooses from the actual selections.I'm thinking I'm going to need to do this all in code instead of using the randomization tool but I am definitely not JS savvy enough to write this code in the short amount of time that I have for this assignment. Any ideas?

Applying default color pallet to graph bar selection?

Hi all; I selected and set the global custom palette to range from Red to Green. The default graph(s) look like this: I want the bars color coded; So far, I haven't learned a way to apply the Red-Yellow-Green to a response count graph by default, so I'm adjusting each bar's color on each graph manually But when I click on any of those 5 red squares to adjust the color, I don't get my custom palette - I get some type of default palette and I either have to live with those color options, manually find a color that is 'close enough', or type in the hex(?) for the desired color so all graphs are the same. Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to show the custom palette when I'm trying to change these bar colors?Or better, is there some way to set this more globally so I'm not changing each bar on each graph (on each report)?Thank you!!
