Survey Platform

Hello,  I have a side by side question with two open ended text columns. I would like to add a $ before the text boxes in both columns. Does anyone have the Javascript for this?  Thank you in advance!

Hello,I have a survey where I randomly assign participants to one of 36 treatment groups, who then receive different survey questions. I do this by inserting a dummy block with 36 text questions, with each corresponding to a different treatment group, and then randomize this block and use display logic to set the rest of the questions displayed based on this dummy block (I also modified the JavaScript code so that the dummy questions do not appear, but the randomization is done silently in the background. The problem is, questions that are simply text, and don’t require the respondent to enter an answer, do not get recorded in the CSV file displaying each recorded response. This is an issue, as I need to know which of the 36 groups my respondents has been randomized into.Am I able to do something with embedded data to solve this? Thanks in advance

Hello, I hope someone can help me. When I look at the results of my survey, I always see error for 1 question. It’s a question where I ask someone’s age. They can fill it in freely. Yet I can’t see any answers. Why?

I’ve got a form where I’ve implemented Flatpickr, but need it to only display the current year through the end of the year. I know I could do minDate and maxDate: “12/31/24” but I want it to be dynamic so I don’t have to remember to go in and change the year manually. I tried to just enable a date range, but that didn’t work as expected. It only displayed the calendar through the end of the year, but none of the dates were actually enabled.Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.addOnload(function(){ jQuery("#question-"+this.questionId+" .text-input").flatpickr({ dateFormat: "m/d/y", altInput: true, altFormat: "F j, Y", defaultDate:"today", maxDate: "12/31/24", /*enable: [ { from: "today", to: "12/31/24" } ],*/ onChange: function(selectedDates, dateStr, instance) { Qualtrics.SurveyEngine.setJSEmbeddedData("date1",dateStr); } });});Thoughts? Anyone else have a similar need and run into issues?

Hello,I am using the Google Maps Autocomplete question to collect address information but would like to report this data on the back end as separate fields for Street Address, City, State, Country (as opposed to the single field with the values separated by commas). I think I would likely need JavaScript to do this but do not have much experience with JS so am struggling to write this code on my own. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unlike a regular survey, a Max DIff study created using the pre-built project template does not have an option to close the project:  Any ideas how to do it? My particular study shows as being “Active” even though the survey is no longer available to accept new responses. Thanks!

I would like to have two “next” buttons on my survey landing page. Any ideas on how to add multiple buttons? Also - I am certainly not a coder, but can follow directions! Are there any updated instructions on how to center the buttons?

Hi,if got a web service in the survey flow that consumes a request that delivers a text-only response. Its only a single string, so no JSON format, no key, no values. This is how it looks like when I test it (view raw data):Does anybody know how to handle this response? How do I get this one into an embedded data variable? Thanks :-)

Hi, I have a survey that I have already built and scoring was turned on for certain questions, and I would like to REMOVE or TURN OFF the scoring entirely. Is there a way to do this, or am I stuck with it now that it’s on? The survey hasn’t been formally deployed yet, and I would rather scoring not be enabled because I don’t need to use it at all.

How can I either Print or Export to Word a survey that shows the scoring being used for each question? Basically, I need to print an answer key for the survey. Thanks

Hi!I am relatively new to setting up large surveys and planning to build a large survey comprising many modules (approximately 1500 questions). Is there anything to note to ensure performance is not compromised given the large volume of questions? Most of the modules will be interviewer administered. We plan to have a save and continue button and will train interviewers to have a break at the end of every module instead of in the middle. Also, are there technical considerations that i should be aware of when building such a large survey? Thank you for the advice!

Hi everyone,I hope you're all doing well.I'm currently designing a survey using Qualtrics and I need some assistance. Specifically, I want to hide the default scale values in a slider scale question and only display the custom labels that I have created. Has anyone successfully hidden scale values in slider scale questions? If so, could you share the correct CSS code or any other method to effectively hide these values?Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!Thank you in advance.Best regards,

Hi all,I was reviewing this post and video, however it seems for me the Qualtrics library date questions provided no longer work, and does not allow you to constrain the dates, even when editing the JS.A developer on my team confirmed there seems to be something wrong with the Javascript. Is anyone else having this issue? I am using simple layout.

So I know you can create a Sensitive Data Policy to flag survey responses that provide sensitive information … but what I cannot figure out is how one is notified of flagged responses. Does anyone know?

Does anyone know how I can have a dynamic text box pop in a multiple choice question?  I have 5 response options to a multiple chose question, and I want to pop up only for those who click on response option “1” something like “why did you choose 1______”. I am not interested in why they select the other 4 response options, so only for 1.thanks!

I have a multi-select, multiple choice question in my survey and I’d like to use display logic to display a specific next question if someone has selected three or more responses from the multiple select question. The Qualtrics website says:Multiple ChoiceAny question with a multiple choice option can have logic based on these fields. This not only includes multiple choice, but side by sides, matrix tables, and so on.Selected Count: This option only appears for multiple choice questions set to allow multiple answers. This option will allow you to base logic on how many answers someone selected for a multiple choice question, rather than the exact answers they selected. How can I access Selected Count in display logic? The only options I see are related to the specific responses themselves, and not to how many answers one has selected.

How do I take the response from a multi-select multiple choice question into a variable to reformat the response as a string separated with pipe symbol "|" instead of commas?

I’m using the select box format because there are over 400 response options and you can choose up to 3. I need to make ‘Prefer not to disclose’ exclusive but that doesn’t appear to be an option unless you chance it to a list.  Does anyone know a way around this with JavaScript or any other options?

Hello. I am in the process of creating a survey for a thesis project that examines the mental health of post-secondary students. As part of my ethics application requirements, I would like to include a withdraw from survey button on every page of the survey. I have spent hours trying to figure this out, and am incredibly confused on how to create such an option. I would appreciate any advice and step-by-step explanation. Thank you in advance!

How to change the date format in qualtrics as there are multiple date columns which are shown up as numbers.

Hi everyone! I am working on getting our survey out and the team member that will be cleaning, analyzing and reporting on the data sent me a few notes. Here is the note I am having trouble resolving:for items like Q2 and Q3 (select all that apply), the data appears to be coming in a single column, with all of the selections separated by commas.  For cleaning, we can use text separators, but they look for common delimiters like commas.  Since we also used these in our parenthetical descriptors, that makes it tougher to do the standard cleaning.  If we could have these all in their own variables (like they are for Q5, which shows up as Q5_1, Q5_2, etc for the first row of Q5, the second row of Q5, etc), that would be great. The full list of such items (select all that apply) is Q2, Q3, Q10, Q11, Q12 and Q13 (these are select up to 3, but the same idea for storing the data would apply), Q17, Q18, Q28, Q32, Q33**, and Q34I reached out to customer support to ask for a solve - they told me t

I am not able to publish the changes from submit to next.  Is there a fix to this?

I’m trying to distribute a survey via email, and when I go to my library, nothing comes up. If I go directly to the library from the main menu, it’s full of messages, but from within Create Email, it’s blank. Searching does no good. I’ve tried another browser, and rebooting my computer. Colleagues are seeing the same thing.  What’s up?

I am relatively new to Qualtrics. I am pretty proficient at the base level use, but we are now working towards a much larger scale project with a pre-post design. I have tried reading through other instructions and questions and am still struggling on getting my project set up the correct way. I wanted to list the basic design of what we are doing and see if anyone has any good input or direction so that my dissertation will be successful (*fingers crossed*). Survey #1 - August 2024 Reminder 2 weeks later  Survey #2 - March 2025 Reminder 2 weeks later  Be able to connect survey 1 to survey 2 - so whether this is done as the same survey being sent out multiple times or 2 different surveys I don’t know which is easier? Thank you for helping out this poor stressed PhD candidate!

Hi Community, Respondent will chose the age of their children in the screener and they may chose upto 5 children between male and female. If they select more than  1 children, and based on the quota which least filled the selected age the child should be displayed in main survey.
