Survey Platform

Is there a way to color responses on the Data & Analysis page, based on the response to a particular question? Context: There is a question in my survey where the majority of responses are “Yes”, however occasionally, someone answers “No”. I would like an easy way to notice these “No”s as I scroll through the list of responses. A similar question was asked 4 years ago (see link below) and the answer was no but I’m hoping something has changed since then. Perhaps someone got bored during the pandemic and came up with the coding?  

Recently, I picked up a project that worked with a qualtrics survey - but for some reason a bunch of nonsense text was injected into the response, text from the template. This text was overwriting questions, and their answers when looking at the response, but was not visible in the configuration of the survey or when filling out the survey. I was told by support that fixing this wasn’t possible and so the only path forward was manually re-creating everything about the survey in a new survey.It turns out that .qsf files are just JSON, and so I was able to export the .qsf of the survey using Tools → export survey, change the file name to .json, and then load it into visual studio code. from there, I was able to format the text of the file into a .json, and repair the survey’s underlying code. I found that there were nonsense entries in a map called languages that were overwriting the question text, and was able to delete the language dictionaries and replace them with lang

I have a Form Field question with 4 fields in it. It asks the user to input the names of up to four people in these fields, so they can fill out all 4 or leave some (or all) blank. I would like to display the responses separated by commas (i.e. “Mary, John, Catherine”) in a confirmation email message that is sent upon submission. I tried piping in the “All Choices - Entered Text” option, but instead of leaving the empty fields empty, it input the field names (i.e. “Mary, John, Catherine, Name 4”). Is there a way to do this with an embedded field from javascript? Or something??? I know I can create a concat field with the Field Editor that works perfect for a dashboard, but that apparently isn’t available to pipe into email messages. Please help!

Hi all, In our survey, I believe some of our participants mistakenly received the preview link to the survey instead of the live link. Therefore, some of our data appears without any identifying data (email, name, etc.), which we need. Is there any way to retrieve this data from preview submissions, or is it lost? I’ve got several surveys that are similar, but the title of each survey is different. I’m trying to see if I can embed the title of the survey in the thank you message so I don’t have to create one for each survey. The message would only be different in mentioning which survey they completed.

How do I set up my scoring so there’s no correct/incorrect scores. I’d like the multiple choice questions to give a single 1 of 4 category result based on the scoring of questions answered. Similar to a personality quiz “Thanks! you’re an introvert!”. 

I have timing variables on each of my surveys pages. What does it mean when a participant has completed a page (there is data for the items) but the timing variables are blank? They are not blank for all the pages, just a few.This is only happening with a few participants, timing variables have data for almost all the other participants as long as they engaged with the page.

I am trying to create a display logic for Q 4.1.3 where depending on the values from Q4.1.1, I display a different version of Q4.1.3. Q4.1.1 asks for a highest value and lowest value and my display logic is based on the difference between these values. I create an embedded data variable in the survey flow and use that embedded data in the display logic. However, it is not working, please advice. (I am attaching photos of my survey flow)   

Is there a way to populate a custom field from open end text?  I'd like to sort respondents who wrote in a specific word and tag them as "Yes" while respondents who did not use that word are tagged "No".  I’d also like to tag a collection of Zip Codes (entered by each respondent) into 1 of 8 “Regions”.  Is this the same type of process?  I know how to add a custom field, but I can’t figure out how to populate the field automatically.  Thanks for your help!

I have added new contacts to a list and would like to send an email only to the new contacts. When attempting to distribute, I only have two choices (1) send to the entire list or (2) send to one person on the list. How can I send to multiple (but not all) people on the list without having to send invitations out individually or having to create another list?Thank you!

Hello,I'm working on a survey with a drill down question. In the first level of options, there's an "Other" selection. I want to automatically advance respondents to the next question, which is a text input field where they can specify the type of organization based on their "Other" selection. Currently, when respondents choose "Other," they need to press "Next" to see the input field. I've already set the motion to autoadvance, but it's not working as expected. I'm looking for help with the following:Identifying why the auto advance feature isn't working as expected. Troubleshooting any potential issues with my survey setup. Finding alternative solutions to achieve the desired autoadvance functionality using javascript or any other tips. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

I’ve got a large drop down question, with 800 plus options and I need to configure display logic for each  option. Is there a quick way to do this? Or do I need to trawl through?

Looking into options on how best to build a survey for people who may have a physical disability (and therefore low dexterity) and also people who are non-verbal/intellectual or neurological disability.My focus was going to be around graphic questions, smiley faces etc. Open to any tips on this topic!

Hey Qualtrics Team, our Participation Summary Filter doesn’t work suddenly today - after working in the last week. We finished a survey within this pulse project last week. Therefore we use a page filter with the “project start date”.Now the widget doesnt work no matter if we filter in our org hierarchy, delete and add the widget or change the page filters.Do you all have any idea to set it up again correctly or are there any issues with the widget at the moment? Best regardsGuido Lemke

I got introduced to qualtrics 5 days ago. I think I have reached at the 80 percent stage after trying for hours, but I am still unable to get past the syntax issue of branch logic plus mathematical operation combo. I need some help with code that doesn’t seem to be working. I am trying to create a ranked list of situations based on the participants likert scale rating. But only when the participant meets certain other criteria.I have defined in the survey flow the other variables in the code (eg., OCLASS, OGROUNDS). And also defined the variables for the ranked list. I have pieced it together from other examples. I launched a survey experiment with piped in embedded data, but accidentally copy/pasted the same stimuli for two of the conditions.Example: 10 conditions that are all different, but Condition 7 and 8 were pasted in as 7 and 7I caught this right after launch, so Condition 8 is now 8. However, 7 has two times as many responses as all the others, and 8 has many fewer. I don’t care about more responses for 7, but I want 8’s count to catch up with 1-6/9-10.I see that you can “Edit Counts,” but I’m not sure how to do this to fix the “lower amounts of Condition 8” issues. Do I decrease the Edit Count for 8, or increase the Edit Count for 8? Or is there another way to make changes?

I know how to make a custom end of survey message, and create a custom event redirecting the user to a URL at the end of the survey, but how to I do both?I’m trying to present the user with a brand new, blank survey when they complete their current one, because they’re taking the survey multiple times for different operating rooms. I don’t want them to having to fish through their emails for the link at the end of each survey. So, my first thought was to include the link in the end of survey message. Unfortunately, it doesn’t display as a hyperlink, so they have to copy and paste. Not ideal.My next thought was to redirect with a custom event, but this skips the end of survey message. I don’t want the EoSM skipped, because the user will get nervous without a confirmation that their answers were recorded.Any ideas?Thanks.

I have a survey I am going to be using in multiple training platforms.  I don’t want to have to ask which training platform the people took in the survey.  I want it to automatically populate the answer to that question based on a link embedded in my trainings.  Is there a way to do this?  Please?
