Survey Platform

So, I've been searching all day, but couldn't find an easy answer. We need to collect the lat and long of everyone answering the survey. I know Qualtrics get the lat and long automatically, but we are limited and CANNOT use the Qualtrics App. With this, the lat and long we get are based on the ip address. We need the actual lat and lon of the phone GPS when answering the survey.I must say I have no experience with API or WEB Service. So if by any chance there's an easy step-by-step on how to get this data and include as part of the survey data collected, would be much appreciated.Tks.

Hi,I'm pretty new to Qualtrics and have hit a snag right out of the gate with my first survey build. Here’s the deal: I have created some vignettes for a survey, spinning different tales by randomizing bits of the story using embedded data—think changing up names, genders, locations, and the like. With this trick, I'm aiming for around 300 unique stories. My plan is to chuck about 10 of these vignettes into each survey, but I want to make sure that I am drawing a different version each time (sampling without replacement).How can I use the survey flow or other tools in Qualtrics to do this, without having to code anything in JS. Any pointers would be super appreciated!

I am curious if it’s possible to add an ‘extend text’ option for the text/graphic questions. These questions are not ones that respondents would answer; but informational text boxes. Some text is lengthy, and we want to preserve screen space. Is this feature possible?

Hi ! I am running a survey that needs to ask the same question 20 times changing one word in the question. To do so, I have created a loop with the 20 options and selected Randomise loop order to make sure that these questions appear in a random order.  Up to here everything works fine.  The problem is that now I have to ask a follow up question - but I want this question to appear only for 6 out of the 20 questions. And I want this follow up question to appear directly after the previous one, not after the whole loop is completed.  For instance: Question 1: What is your opinion on …A… ?For this question we have 20 options, so: A,B,C,D,E,F,… up to 20.I want this question to appear for the 20 options but in a random order.  Question 2: Do you know where A comes from?This question will only appear for 6 out of the 20 options, and directly after question 1. After responding to this question, the loop would continue with question 1 for other options. Any help is more than welcome! Thank yo

Hi community! I am currently designing a vignette experiment. I have 300 unique vignettes and I want every respondent to randomly get assigned 15 vignettes to be rated. Every vignette must be rated 20 times in total. How do I make sure that respondents get diverse vignettes and that every vignette is rated 20 times. So I will have 400 respondents. Kind regards

Hello, I'm curious if there is a way to change both the header and background color of a survey based on an embedded data field. For example: If Sample = G, show respective banner for G group and a black backgroundIf Sample = H, show respective banner for H group and a blue backgroundIf Sample = I, show respective banner for I group and a white backgroundI was able to get the headers to show for each group by setting up an embedded field for header URL and piping in HTML under Header in Look and Feel. Is there is a way to include background color with this? My survey currently has a white background for all three group, since white is the default under Look and Feel. Any help is appreciated.

Hi! I would love to get your help with the following:I have a side-by-side question where1st column is a Yes/No question 2nd is a Likert scaleI need the response for the 1st column, but for the 2nd ONLY if they selected ‘Yes’ in the 1st. If they selected ‘No’, they don’t need to answer the 2nd one at all, and ‘force response’ won’t let them proceed so I figured I need to apply ‘custom validation’. But I am a bit confused on how to design this with the ‘custom validation’ (the ‘AND’ and ‘OR’ logic etc.)This logic needs to apply to all items.Looking forward for your tips!

I’m interested in collecting data with the PHQ-9, but I want to screen people out of the 9-item measure by first giving respondents the PHQ-2. My question is how do I Display the PHQ-9 based on the score on the PHQ-2?

Hello, in some of my survey questions it shows Invalid field group. There is a mismatch in the field group's field types. How to fix this? 

In R-studio, I have generated a numeric distribution (n = 1000) with specific parameters. In my survey, I would like to randomly select a single number from this distribution as part of a decision task for participants. So far, I have created an Embedded Data field in Survey Flow by copy-pasting in my distribution of numbers (separated by comma’s). However, I am unable to use piped text to select a single random number from this distribution to be displayed in my survey text. I would be grateful to receive some advice on how to approach this matter.

Hi community, I am following this article to encode the query string array to base64 string.https://www.qualtrics.com/support/survey-platform/survey-module/survey-flow/standard-elements/passing-information-through-query-strings/#QEED However, I am not encoding the query string in external system, the encode is done with Qualtrics workflow task, using Code workflow, when I test the JavaScript code, it works fine, but when the code run with the entire workflow, it failed. The message is “btoa is not defined”. Is any restriction to call btoa function to encode base64 string on Qualtrics workflow code? Hello!I needed to create a complex survey, so I created a 30-day updated account for free. I need the respondents to fill out the second part as well, where the basic account will not work for me either. However, the 30-day period ends in a few days and I don't have enough answers yet. Will I still be able to obtain and send out a link to the second part of the survey even after the trial period ends, or will it no longer be possible?

For a recent survey I had not selected anonymizing, but failed to request contact information in survey questions. Is there any way to follow up with survey completers based on data that may have been recorded apart from question responses?

Hi everyone, I have a list of 80 items in a Loop & Merge that appear randomly in one block in several steps: first as just an item:  then in two questions:  Now, I want these two questions to be randomized (sometimes the YOU question should come first and sometimes the ON AVERAGE one). I can’t use two blocks because only one item should be used in each run (Field/1). I also can’t use advanced randomization for it ruins the timer and page breaks.I have tried many other things but to no avail, so would appreciate your help.  

Is there a way to allow a non-authenticated respondent to continue if authentication fails?

We have 40 ipads and want to use the offline survey feature for people to fill out a survey when wifi is unreliable. Is it possible to have all 40 ipads logged into the same account to fill out the survey? If not, does anyone know what the maximum amount that can be logged in at once is?  

Hi there, I want to create two conditions for my choice based conjoint analysis: absence vs presence. The absence condition will only see 2 of the 3 attributes and the presence condition will see 3 of the 3 attributes. Is this possible? Because if I look at the flow I cannot duplicate the Group: conjoint based. Anyone has an idea if this is possible?

Hello, I am coding my survey and want to create 2 dummies for a set of questions using embedded data, regardless of the answer that respondents will give. All respondents will answer the entire set of questions. The dummies should reflect whether a piece of information presented in a block of questions is true or false and whether it is related to a specific topic (politics, sports, or leisure). For example, a question that includes true information about sports should be coded as true=1 and topic=sports. I’ve tried different ways but for some reason, only a subset of questions ends up appearing to respondents. Thank you,George

Hi!I have a problem with the randomizer. I have created 4 blocks of questions in 1 survey and I want only 1 of these 4 to be displayed when completed, and after filling out the survey would be closed and not continue to the next 3. So that users answer only 1 of them. How to do it?

I want to show 2 random images for each respondent. I have over 10 images in the library. How can I design the codes in Qualtrics?
